Gillette Castle, Connecticut

Atop the most southerly hill of a chain of hills known as the Seven Sisters sits the retirement estate of noted actor, director, and playwright William Hooker Gillette. Named the Seventh Sister by Gillette, the property’s focal point is a 24-room stone mansion reminiscent of a medieval castle.

William Gillette was born in 1853 in Hartford, Connecticut. His father, Francis, was a Yale-educated lawyer, farmer and prominent politician who served a term in the U.S. Senate. His mother, Elisabeth, was a descendant of Thomas Hooker, the founder of Connecticut. Will grew up in the Nook Farm neighborhood of Hartford with the likes of Harriet Beecher Stowe and Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain) as neighbors. Will left home to pursue an acting career and went on to become one of the most successful and significant stage actors in American theater at the turn of the 20th century.

William Gillette as Sherlock Holmes

William Gillette’s most recognized role is that of Sherlock Holmes. With the permission of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the fictional detective’s creator, Gillette wrote the first authorized play adaptations of the novels. Beginning in 1899, Gillette went on to star as Sherlock Holmes more than 1,300 times over the course of 33 years. Gillette originated and popularized many common features of the character: the deerstalker cap, Inverness cape, curved pipe, magnifying glass and the phrase “elementary, my dear fellow” (which later evolved into “Elementary, my dear Watson,” one of the most recognized lines in popular culture).

Personal Life

William Gillette married Helen Nichols, an actress from Detroit, in 1882. In 1888, she died from a ruptured appendix at the age of 28. Will promised her that he would never remarry. He outlived Helen by 49 years, staying single and childless for the rest of his life.

Building The Castle

The Castle was meant as a retirement home. As William Gillette insisted that it was not a castle, the official name of the property was the Seventh Sister Estate. Informally, it was the “Hadlyme stone heap” or simply “the pile of rocks.” Design of the Castle and all the quirks and eccentricities therein was done by William Gillette. The Porteus-Walker Company of Hartford was hired as the general contractor.

Construction was started in 1914 and completed in 1919, with Gillette later modifying the building, including the expansion from 1923 to 1926. As a finished product, the 14,000-square-foot building contained 24 rooms and cost $1.1 million to complete. Work on the home was done primarily by a team of 20 men. The house is built of fieldstone collected from the property and surrounding area. A team of five master carpenters created all of the woodwork for the Castle, carving southern white oak by hand. The entire structure is well supported by a frame of steel I-beams.

For the time, the house had all the modern utilities. Electricity was provided by generator before the rest of the town had access. Hand-carved wooden light switches were meant to resemble levers backstage or operating switches for a railroad. Light fixtures ranged from Gillette’s handmade craft lights to Quezal globes to two made by Tiffany & Co. Red mortar and grass floor tiles used as wall coverings are more examples of the building’s uniqueness. The house had several bathrooms, each with a modern toilet, sink and bathtub, and hot and cold water. Central heating originated from a coal-fired boiler in the basement and provided steam to fill the cast-iron radiators spread around the home.

The woodwork within the Castle is hand-hewn southern white oak. Gillette designed 47 one-of-a-kind doors within the structure, each having a unique, elaborate latch intricately carved of wood. Pieces of furniture such as the dining-room table and office chair were set on tracks to avoid damaging the floors. A built-in liquor cabinet could be locked by Gillette who then could view it from the second-floor balcony through one of three strategically placed mirrors. The home also includes a 1,500-square-foot living room, a greenhouse, several guest bedrooms, an art gallery, a library and two tower rooms.

Seventh Sisters Railroad

William Gillette had a love of trains since childhood and always wanted to drive one. In 1927, Gillette built a quarter-scale, narrow-gauge railroad around his 122-acre property. The railroad included two engines (one steam, one electric), several passenger cars, and three miles of track complete with bridges, turnarounds and a tunnel. There is a railroad station (called “Grand Central”) with a spectacular view of the Connecticut River that used to house Gillette’s railway cars, and the modern walking trails follow much of the old railroad bed. On the grounds, one also will find a covered bridge, a tunnel, several wooden bridges and Gillette’s goldfish pond.

From private estate to Gillette castle state park

William Gillette died in 1937 at the age of 83 and nine months. The estate was left to his cousin and brother-in-law. They tried to sell the Castle at auction in 1938. The winning bid was $35,000 from a real estate broker; however, the relatives rejected it. The reason is that Gillette said in his will that he did not want the property “in the possession of some blithering saphead who has no conception of where he is or with what surrounded.” In 1943, the State of Connecticut, with help from the Connecticut Forest and Park Association, purchased the property from Gillette’s family at a cost of $30,000. Gillette Castle State Park first opened to the public on October 7, 1944, as a museum and state park.

    2. Out-fucking-standing, my friend! Welcome back! You were missed fer sure! My surprise of the morning was getting up at 5:30, opening the patio door and seeing the exterior motion-activated light coming on. A few seconds later, here came Wheezer/Sleezer/Hussy thru the doggie door. I emptied the rest of the tuna into her dish and she commenced chowing down. I left the door open (Jake is shut in the BR) and went about getting a cup of coffee – when I returned to my chair, she was hunkered down inside on the mat by the door. I’m pleased to not see any ear mites.

She then proceeded to clean her face…..

And sat there for about 5 minutes, just gazing around, before entering and traveling thru the kitchen, around behind the couch and back to the kitchen, looking up to the counter as if she thought there might be more tuna “up there!” Nope – all gone!

“As the most common kind of cat, tabby cats are surprisingly misunderstood. Most people don’t realize, for example, that every domestic house cat possesses the tabby gene. Those that aren’t easily identified by their stripes, swirls, or spots are called “diluted tabbies.”

These undercover tabby cats possess other genes that essentially cancel out classic tabby markings. However, even some diluted tabbies can’t hide the most distinctive mark of a tabby cat: the letter “M ” on their foreheads.”

Something stinks about the whole Trump assassination attempt, and Joe Rogan can smell it. “The whole thing stinks of either incompetence or a DESIGN, or we’re in the matrix.” One or two mistakes is one thing, but 10-plus anomalies is highly suspicious.

    1. No local law enforcement was on the rooftop used by the shooter.

    2. When law enforcement was notified by citizens of the shooter, there was no prompt action at the rooftop to neutralize the shooter.

    3. Local law enforcement failed to initiate active shooter protocol to protect Trump and the crowd.

    4. There was no apparent communication from local law enforcement to the USSS to get Trump to a secure location.

    5. Police snipers on the roof used binoculars to track the shooter’s position and did not warn the USSS below to get Trump off the stage.

    6. Police snipers under scope vision allowed the shooter to get set and shoot six rounds at Trump.

    7. A police sniper got off the scope and looked with the naked eye to be sure the shooter had taken his shots and never looked down at Trump.

    8. Finally, a police sniper shot Crooks.

    9. No local police went up on the roof immediately after Crooks was shot to take away his gun and check on his status.

    10. All the while, there was no active shooter protocol, and no warning was given to Trump or the audience. Credit to

The Senate briefing on the Trump rally shooting has just concluded. Key points, according to two senators on the call: – The shooter visited the rally site a few days in advance to scope it out. – 62 minutes elapsed between the time the shooter was photographed as suspicious and when he fired the shots. – 20 minutes elapsed between the time he was spotted by snipers and when he fired the shots. – FBI Director Christopher Wray stated there’s no known foreign nexus, but no established motive as of now. – The shooter used encrypted communications and had little to no social media presence.

They knew about the shooter well ahead of time …

    – but still let Trump take the stage.

    – then let the shooter fire and hit Trump and shoot and kill Trump supporters before they acted.

Screw firing people – these people belong in prison.

    Going forward.

If you are at Trump rally and you see something wrong, ie a guy on a roof with what appears to be a rifle, don’t try yelling at the police on site, DIAL 911 AND REPORT AN ACTIVE SHOOTER.

I am still flabbergasted that all these witnesses relied on the local LE/SS presence to do something.

Once you dial 911 report an active shooter, the dispatcher must take it seriously, and escalate the situation. And when we’re looking at a political rally with the former President of the United States, they are now in the hot seat, regardless of the SS. And the call to 911 is recorded from the very start, so it can’t be buried as easily.

Thomas Matthew Crooks reportedly disliked Republican and Democrat politicians and called a classmate “stupid” for supporting President Trump. A classmate also reported that Crooks and his friends threatened to “shoot up” their high school during their freshman year. “I brought up the fact that I’m Hispanic, and I’m for Trump.” “He called me stupid or insinuated that I was stupid.” “He did not like politicians. Especially during 2016, it was Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton, all of them. He showed that he disliked all of them.” “He was a know-it-all. So once again, if he was passionate about something, he would talk, talk, talk and act like he knew everything, especially politics related.” “He was real smug and arrogant whenever he was talking.” “His friend group… they were definitely the type, and they did make threats to shoot up our school. During our freshmen year, there were Snapchat messages saying Thomas made a threat. It was that friend group.” “Everyone was mainly blaming his friend group, but the name that kept coming up was Thomas.” “The signs were there, and somebody definitely had to have known whether he was talking to somebody… Anybody who knew him should have known something was up.”

This is a complete failure by state level election officials, election clerks and ERIC in keeping our voter reg. lists clean. Almost like they are doing it on purpose……bingo.

  11. Pat, I posted the entire loooong post from Dr. Malone @ M’s but look at this:

The firm that took the suspicious and enormous bet against President Trump’s Truth Social stock ($DJT) ONE DAY before the assassination attempt is Austin Private Wealth LLC, majority held by George Soros’ Vanguard and BlackRock.

Coincidentally, BlackRock, a party that would have greatly profited from President Trump’s death, included the shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, in a 2022 promotional video.

Alex Soros infamously shared an Atlantic Magazine cover image which featured a bullet hole in glass, followed by a picture of cash which added up to the number 47, a message some interpreted as a cryptic death threat against President Trump.

Austin Private Wealth LLC is also connected to the late-President George H.W. Bush, who was a client, and through his son, President George W. Bush, who attended events and was involved in the company’s charitable initiatives. Bush family close associate James A. Baker III, a former Secretary of State and H.W.’s White House Chief of Staff, has served as the firms Senior Policy Director since its inception in 2006.

Being that this was the largest bet the firm has ever taken, it’s fair to presume Baker had a role in making it. It’s also important to remember the moment H.W. made a Sicilian style death motion toward a tv showing President Trump decimating his son Jeb during the 2016 Presidential primary.

Lastly, Austin Private Wealth LLC, according to their website, directly supports the ACLU, ADL Austin, Shalom Austin, Jewish Community Center, Camp Young Judaea, Congregation Beth Israel, Austin Jewish Academy, and Hadassah.

“Catalyst Events and The Trump Assassination Attempt: A Theory for How Trump Dodged the Assassin’s Bullet”

    A MIDWESTERN DOCTOR, JUL 18, 2024

“Note: this article is different from the content typically publish, but I felt it should be written due to a few questions I was repeatedly receiving.

Both I and my spiritual teachers believe we live in a very unique era, where due to cyclical cosmic forces that are at a play, longstanding paradigms can change in a blink of an eye and previously inconceivable events will occur one after another. On one hand, this cyclical period where “time is cut in half and cut in half again” is often thought of as “the age of darkness” because humans often cannot adapt to the rapid changes it brings forth, but on the flip side these periods offer immense opportunities for both individuals and societies at large to evolve and discard dysfunctional paradigms which caused immense damage to everyone for generations.

For example, imagine for a moment how slowly human society changed over the centuries, and then compare it to how profoundly different our society has been in each successive decade, or that the pace of change has only continued to accelerate—especially with the advent of the internet.

Because society becomes so mutable in these eras, events will frequently emerge that have the potential to radically shift the direction of the society for decades if not generations to come. More importantly, those events are often inflection points that offer two very different paths depending on which way the society bifurcates, and hence the way individuals in the society respond to the event carries truly profound consequences.

A lot of what I’ve done since 2020 (e.g., all the time I put into this publication) for example has been because I recognized that COVID-19 was one such inflection point, and that it was equally possible it would lead to a dystopian biosecurity future of government and pharmaceutical enslavement or that it would allow us at last to begin shedding the yolk of the malignant medical ideology which has enslaved us for over a century.

Recently, we had another one of those inflection points—the attempted assassination of Donald Trump. In my eyes, had it succeeded and Trump had died from a headshot on national television, it’s very possible a catastrophic war would have broken out. However, instead something even more unexpected happened—the assassin’s bullet just barely missed and a message of unity we essentially have not seen for the last decade began spreading through the country….”

Corey Comperatore, 50, died after shielding his family from the gunfire at the rally, which injured Trump and two attendees. The funeral takes place on Friday, the day after the conclusion of the GOP convention.

“He was very kind and said he would continue to call me in the days and weeks ahead,” Helen Comperatore, his wife, wrote of Trump on Facebook. “I told him the same thing I told everyone else. He left this world a hero and God welcomed him in. He did not die in vain that day.”

A GoFundMe setup for Comperatore has raised more than $1.2 million. A separate fundraiser setup by Trump’s campaign to support Comperatore and the rally attendees who were injured has raised more than $5 millions so far. Recording artist Kid Rock and UFC CEO Dana White donated $50,000.”

“If Trump wins, and is able to prevent WW3 as he claims, that means the Dems just waged an 8+ year war on the guy who ended up bringing world peace. There’s no coming back from that.

I think we are watching a massive restructure of US politics. If Trump wins convincingly, he will have majorities in both chambers, with his already existing majority in the Supreme Court. He would then have the power to fully implement the MAGA agenda, and most importantly, he actually has the public support he did not have last time.

Combine this with Elon’s takeover of Twitter and the decentralization of media, all the pieces are in place for Trump to have success, without the MSM brainwashing the public to think he is a Russian asset.

Trump will control all three branches of government, he will have massive public support, unlimited political ammunition, and the MSM have been largely neutralized. The stars are aligning.”
