      Still cloudy and gloomy, humid and 70 already, w/no wind, thankfully. Wheezer was sleeping on my chair this morning. IDK what it is with cats: she seems to do the same thing Jake does – leave the last bottom layer of food, almost like they’re keeping it for an emergency! LOL There was still a layer of food in her dish when I went out to get it. She jumped down, stretched and yawned, then sat down and looked at me, like “Well, what are you waiting for???” I reached out but she still won’t let me touch her. Once I refilled it, put it back outside, and closed the door, she promptly tucked in, then left.

        1. The males come first to settle on a territory that has suitable nesting trees and water nearby; the females follow within a week or two. This is specific to PA:

    Now that the dust has settled, here’s what I believe happened with the debate:

    The war between Biden machine & the Obama machine spilled into the open

    Democrat leaders on both sides are truly panicking about Biden’s crashing poll numbers

    Biden knows if he’s out of power, his crime family will be prosecuted and disgraced and Jill Biden has gotten way to used to the lifestyle – she won’t give it up

    Obama team knows their mafia operation will be prosecuted under Trump as well

    So both sides are desperate and fighting over whose strategy is best to beat Trump

    Obama machine launched a final sneak attack to pressure Joe to drop out after the debate that they knew he would be awful in

    It didn’t work

    Biden met with Obama the next day, made clear he wasn’t quitting, and now Obama machine puppets are all backtracking, including Obama himself

    It’s now clear that Biden controls the DNC machine while Obama controls the media machine

    The Democrat machine as a whole is begrudgingly unifying behind Biden in hopes that he can pull it off

    But make no mistake – these people are truly scared of what’s coming down the road for them under Trump

    I’ve never seen them act this desperately

    These are not the moves of a confident & powerful regime

    They are divided and desperate

    If Trump wins, we will truly destroy the Deep State and they know it

It is Smith, a historically rogue and vile prosecutor, who deserves our contempt, along with his boss, Garland. The January 6 case is a farce. The documents case was utterly unnecessary.  He and the Democrats may be in a rush to destroy a constitution they have never admired, and whose authors they hate, in pursuit of their American-Marxist police-state. But the rest of us are not.

    The Biden administration is flying previously deported Cameroonians whose asylum claims were determined to be invalid back into the United States, according to interviews with Immigration and Customs Enforcement staff and internal agency memos reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon.

    The program, which has not been announced to the public, appears to be a response to a February 2022 Human Rights Watch report about dozens of Cameroonians deported between 2019 and 2021 and then allegedly mistreated by their government. An estimated 80 to 90 Cameroonians were deported during that period of time.

    But now some are arriving back in the United States under a program with little precedent, both current and former ICE officials say. All of the individuals deported under the previous administration were found not to have valid asylum claims in the United States.

    The decision to fly back the previously deported Cameroonians is the latest instance of the Biden administration reversing its predecessor’s immigration initiatives. On his first day in office, President Joe Biden rolled back a number of former president Donald Trump’s border policies and paused southern border wall construction. Biden later ended a policy that forced asylum seekers to wait in Mexico before their court hearing, which critics blame for the sharp uptick in illegal border crossings.

    “Gutting deportations isn’t enough for the Biden administration, so now they’re apparently bringing back previously deported illegal aliens,” said former ICE official and director of investigations at the Center for Immigration Studies Jon Feere. “These are people who have already had their cases closed, one way or another, and they’ve been returned home.”

    Internal memos reviewed by the Free Beacon show an ICE official working with outside nonprofits to help relocate the Cameroonians. One email from earlier this year reviewed by the Free Beacon shows the director of the Immigrant Rights Clinic at Texas A&M University, Fatma Marouf, informing an ICE official where one migrant will arrive.

    In that incident, the migrant arrived at Washington-Dulles airport in Virginia. ICE officials familiar with the program say airports around the country are being used as ports of entry for the Cameroonians in an attempt to keep the public in the dark about the program and avoid concentrating the migrants in a single location.

    Marouf did not respond to a request for comment.

    The official rationale for the program, according to internal memos reviewed by the Free Beacon, is to avoid a “potential lawsuit.” There is pending litigation in New York over documents related to alleged abuse of Cameroonian migrants, but no court has ordered their return.

    “These individuals were deported by the order of a court after they were afforded all due process rights,” said former ICE chief of staff Tom Blank. “For DHS to arbitrarily reverse court orders to satisfy complaints from an activist group makes a joke out of the entire legal immigration process. It looks like outside activist groups now run the DHS immigration process instead of the courts.”

    The lawsuit, originally filed in December 2022 by American victims of Palestinian terror attacks and Rep. Ronny Jackson (R., Texas), alleges the Biden administration violated federal law when it restarted aid to the Palestinians, including for programs in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip. This money, they argue, subsidized terrorism and contributed to the Palestinian government’s “pay to slay” program, which provides imprisoned terrorists and their families with monthly stipends.

    1. i think i told this story before–back when i was a teenager, i babysat for the neighbor’s 2 boys all the time. one Saturday they asked if i would mine babysitting their friend’s 2 other boys–(i got paid double and it was only a few hours.) i agreed. cute little guys. THE VERY NEXT DAY…someone crashed into their parents’ pinto and they all died at the scene. so sad!

    BREAKING: The Manhattan DA’s office will NOT oppose Trump lawyers’ request to delay the July 11th sentencing after his legal team filed a motion Monday to get the conviction tossed following the Supreme Court’s ruling on presidential immunity. They claim that certain evidence introduced in the “hush money” trial was in fact precluded under the Supreme Court’s test. Trump’s sentencing date will most likely be pushed back by at least a “few weeks.”

    Just The News: “A New York court on Tuesday disbarred former New York Mayor and Donald Trump adviser Rudolph Giuliani, after he was found to have repeatedly made false statements about Trump’s 2020 election loss.

    The decision was handed down by a New York appeals court in Manhattan, according to the Associated Press. The ruling stops Giuliani from practicing law and removes his name from the roll of attorneys and counselors-at-law in the state. 

    Giuliani’s spokesperson didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment Tuesday by the wire service. The 80-year-old Giuliani has already had his New York law license suspended for false statements he made after the election.”

Just The News: “The Institute for Energy Resources, a free-market energy research group, updated its running list of actions President Joe Biden and Democrats have taken to make it harder to produce energy since Biden took office. The list has grown to 225 laws, regulations and decisions making it more expensive and take longer to produce oil, gas and coal.

    The list hit 200 in March after growing by 25 from the previous September. The newest actions since March, many of which target oil and gas development in Alaska, include:

    • Cutting oil and gas land auctions by 3,000 in New Mexico
    • Passing a final methane rule regulating emissions on public land
    • New EPA emissions standards for heavy-duty trucks
    • Blocking 23 million acres of Alaska to oil and gas drilling
    • Restricting new oil and gas leasing on 13 million acres of Alaska
    • Rejecting the Ambler Access Road, blocking mining development in Alaska
    • Finalizing rules to create “conservation leases,” which block resource development

    The latest item is the efforts in May at the G7 Ministerial Meeting on Climate, Energy and the Environment to phase out existing coal generation by 2035.

    The U.S. is producing record-high levels of oil and gas. Tom Pyle, president of the American Energy Alliance, which is the advocacy arm of the IER, told Just the News in May that the industry has grown despite the Biden administration’s efforts, which ironically have kept the economy in a much better position than it would have. A lot of that, he said, has to do with production on private lands, which is harder to regulate like that on public lands, such as those in Alaska.”

  22. Just The News: “An FBI supervisor is blowing the whistle on his own organization, alleging to the Justice Department’s chief watchdog and Congress that the bureau has been improperly suspending or revoking the security clearances of agents it believes hold conservative political views.

    The new whistleblower’s allegations surfaced Tuesday in correspondence obtained by Just the News that was sent to the House and Senate Judiciary Committees and DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz, dramatically claiming that as a supervisory special agent he witnessed efforts by senior FBI brass to target employees who supported Donald Trump or opposed COVID-19 vaccines.

    “If an FBI employee fit a certain profile as a political conservative, they were viewed as security concerns and unworthy to work at the FBI,” the whistleblower’s lawyer, Empower Oversight President Tristan Leavitt, wrote Horowitz in requesting an independent investigation.

    The supervisory special agent, whose name was redacted from the letters, was in charge of security clearance reviews for all FBI employees on the East Coast and alleged that other agents involved in the process also share his concerns that FBI leadership has been improperly applying a political litmus test to the question of whether employees get their top secret clearance re-approved. 

    The agent alleged he and other agents who voiced concerns were retaliated against with transfers or suspensions, the letter states,

    FBI’s internal affair unit “have already been made aware of reprisal by the same SecD officials for the same reasons against other SecD employees,” the letter to Horowitz stated. “In light of SecD’s pattern of abuse of the security clearance process and retaliation against SecD employees who try to stop that abuse.”

    The supervisory agent’s claim back up documents first reported by Just the News last month that security clearance reviews inside the FBI were considering questions like whether an employee supported Trump, expressed concerns about the COVID-19 vaccine or had attended a Second Amendment rally.

    The new whistleblower says he was once assigned a supervisory role over the case of another FBI whistleblower, Marcus Allen, whom the agency had investigated over his political views. The security division specifically investigated Allen under Guideline A — Allegiance to the United States and raised concerns that he was hesitant to “attest to his current vaccination status.”

    Despite lower-ranking agents’ findings that Allen had not violated the guidelines, higher-ranking officials pushed for his security clearance to be revoked for questioning the January 6 prosecutions, according to the new letter.

    In June, the FBI reached a settlement with Allen—who is also represented by Empower Oversight—to restore his security clearance and pay him 27 months of back pay and benefits that the agency had withheld during his suspension.

    The whistleblower, who submitted a complaint to the Department of Justice Inspector General on June 28, alleges that the security division responsible for reviewing clearances is infected by political bias and that he had his own security clearance suspended in a retaliatory move by the agency after he raised concerns about the way it was investigating its employees.

    The Allen investigation is just one review that the new whistleblower observed during his time at the agency. His complaint to Horowitz details several other examples of probes focused on employees’ views about January 6 and vaccines, hot button political topics and matters of opinion usually protected by the First Amendment. 

    The compliant also alleges that the new whistleblower—a registered Democrat—was himself retaliated against for making protected disclosures about the behavior he observed by FBI leadership. The day after he contacted the Inspector General with complaints about one of his supervisors, he was called in to a meeting and notified that he would be suspended for sending an image of “health and wellness” activities and for “performance” issues and “attitude,” according to the complaint.

    After flight delays and illness, I first read the Supreme Court’s opinion in Trump v. United States – the case resolving the issue of Presidential immunity – on my phone as I sat in the hallway of the third floor of a hotel. Next to me, dreaming peacefully in her stroller, was our 10-month-old baby girl. This dark corner of the hallway was the quietest place I could find (the room was too bright). There were more comfortable spots but silence was necessary. Sometimes you’ll do anything for a nap.

    Now let’s get to it. For background, Chief Justice John Roberts, in writing for the majority, answered the following question:

    “Whether and if so to what extent does a former President enjoy presidential immunity from criminal prosecution for conduct alleged to involve official acts during his tenure in office.”

    The Court provided three answers based on the classifications of the President’s conduct:

    1. A President has absolute immunity when he exercises his core constitutional powers: “Congress may not criminalize the President’s conduct in carrying out the re­sponsibilities of the Executive Branch under the Constitu­tion.”
    2. A President has presumptive immunity from criminal prosecution for his acts within the outer perimeter of his official responsibility. This covers actions “so long as they are not manifestly or palpably beyond his authority.”
    3. A President has no immunity for his unofficial acts.

    With the basics of immunity being established, the Court then had to distinguish Trump’s official acts from his unofficial acts. The first part of that inquiry was to assess “the President’s authority to take that action.” This assessment must be made at the “outset of a proceeding.”

    The President’s duties, as Chief Justice Roberts observed, “are of unrivaled gravity and breadth,” and include serving as the Commander in Chief, conducting foreign policy and diplomacy, managing matters relating to terrorism, trade, and immigration, and faithfully executing this nation’s laws.

    While a President is without the power to act unlawfully or to exceed his constitutional authority, courts “have no power to control the President’s discretion when he acts pursuant to the powers invested exclusively in him by the Constitution.” If a President acts “within the scope of his exclusive authority, his discretion in exercising such authority cannot be subject to further judicial examination.” ………”
