Coronado Heights Park is a scenic overlook and park on a 300′ promontory a few miles northwest of Lindsborg, Kansas. In the 1930s, the Works Progress Administration (WPA) built a picnic area and castle like building out of Dakota limestone. It is rather cool and the view is spectacular – reminiscent of the view from Sterling Castle in Scotland. The winding drive up to the heights is beautiful, with many trees, yucca, and sumac.
The park has grills and fireplaces, including a fireplace in the “castle,” which is otherwise unlighted except for the windows. There are many stone picnic tables located around the edge of hill, with views in all directions. When visited in July of 2007, the castle and grounds were clean and in surprisingly good repair. There is a stone rest room building, but from a distance it wasn’t clear what condition it is in, and it didn’t look like there was a regular path to the rest rooms.
Coronado Heights receives its name from Francisco Vasquez de Coronado, who visited central Kansas in 1541, looking for the Native American community of Quivira, where he was told “trees hung with golden bells and … pots and pans were beaten gold.”
Coronado didn’t find his gold, and it is unknown if he actually ascended the heights now named after him near Lindsborg, Kansas.
There is also a 3 mile mountain bike trail with two loops around the base of Coronado Heights Park.
Take Coronado Avenue (Highway 4) 3 miles north of Lindsborg to Coronado Heights Road (unpaved). Go 1 mile west, just past Smoky Hill Cemetery and turn right at the stone gate. You will see Coronado Heights Park from many miles. Open 8 AM to 11 PM.
Coronado Heights Park was closed for most of the 2019 summer, because of a land slide on the road up to the park, but it reopened at the end of August.

Morning, Pat! 50 on the thermometer here, with clear skies and sunshine, thankfully. I am declaring success against that dastardly squirrel! We’ve got a string of really nice days coming up supposedly….mid-to-high 70’s with sunshine. I’ve decided that instead of trying to move the big rain barrels with the soil inside I’m going to take the soil out bucket by bucket and put it all out on the cantaloupe bed, then mix it in with my tilling fork. Anything is better than the current soil! I asked Jason’s wife if he could move them but….sigh…bad back. Uh-huh – likely story!
The amount of sugar-water in the nectar feeders doesn’t appear to be going down much so not many Hummers around, I guess. I’ve seen a couple of female orioles on the feeder over the garden beds, tho.

when i got up this morning, I didn’t immediately put the jelly feeder out because it was raining pretty hard. so i sat at the table and opened my computer. within 10 minutes, there was an oriole sitting on the railing where the dish usually is, scolding me…lol. luckily the jacket you sent me has a hood! lol
the red breasted grosbeak has become a regular at the jelly feeder now. but i haven’t see a female yet.

Good morning! Big excitement here this morning. Starting about 7 am – we had a couple of tornado warnings and severe weather alerts on our cell phones at the Village. I also got a call from my alarm system that I have a power outage at home.
Then the power and internet went out at about 8am when a deep red line of lightning and storms passed over us. No news yet of any damage in our area.
I may have to make a trip home to check on my house, because the city utility company also notified me that I may have a faucet on or a toilet running.
The emergency generator has finally kicked in, so there are lights in the hallways in Sally’s building and I can operate her lift if she needs to use the bathroom. We can use the lift, have internet, phones, and microwave, but the stove and refrigerator are not on her emergency line.
There was not a lot of wind and rain with this storm system, at least that I could see out the window, but the main power is still out, except for what the building’s big generator is putting out.
Glad to be back online and safe. :-)

FILED: Election Lawsuit Petition to the Arizona Supreme Court I have filed my election lawsuit petition to the Arizona Supreme Court. I promised that I would fight to the end for not only every Arizonan who was disenfranchised, but for the rule of law itself. I never anticipated I’d be in litigation nearly 18 months after the last election, but no just legal system can tolerate government officials abusing their power by withholding evidence.
We never got a fair trial because Katie Hobbs in her capacity as Secretary of State and Maricopa County withheld evidence prior to our trial. There are still 9,000 uncounted ballots in the 2022 election, and my legal team believes at least 1,100+ ballots should be counted. The closest race in Arizona history deserves its day in court, a margin of 280 votes out of 2.5 million with all of the discrepancies on Election Day, and what we’ve discovered since has clouded the legitimacy of Kris Mayes. We received more votes than her, she knows it, and so does nearly every Arizonan who is paying attention.
I understand the frustration many Arizonans have when they see the ‘system’ not working for justice, but rather for narrative or convenience. With the Court of Appeals giving a split decision in our appeal, I believe it is a strong indicator that our case should be heard and sent back to the trial court.
Despite being sanctioned, having bar complaints filed against me, and offered many ‘favors’ to drop my lawsuit I have never wavered in my commitment to truth and justice. I swore an oath to the Constitution as an Army officer, I thought it meant something. To see the left and some Republicans willing to discard the will of the people has been eye-opening. This process has only made me smarter, stronger, and more fearless. We are suffering under the reign of an illegitimate AG who has weaponized her office against her political opponents, it is very dangerous and will only get worse. Weakness emboldens the Marxists.
I want to thank my legal team, countless volunteers who helped collect hundreds of affidavits, and I want to thank all of my supporters who’ve stood shoulder to shoulder with me – YOU are the reason why I continue to fight. Keep the faith, hold the line. – Abe

“ANALYSIS: ATF agent who killed Little Rock airport executive will likely walk —Investigators, prosecutors not addressing ATF’s flawed tactics that caused the killing.”
LEE WILLIAMS, MAY 10, 2024
EXCERPT: “It appears no one will be held criminally accountable for ATF’s botched March 19 raid, during which 53-year-old Little Rock airport executive Bryan Malinowski was shot and killed in his own home. The post-shooting investigation is as flawed as ATF’s choice of tactics, which caused the killing.
Whenever a law enforcement officer kills someone, two separate investigations take place. The first is usually conducted by local officials who determine whether the officer should be charged with murder. The second investigation is conducted by the officer’s employer and determines whether the officer violated policy in any way.
The Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division (CID) investigated the Malinowski shooting. However, Arkansas State Police Director Col. Mike Hagar made a chilling statement late last month after his agency finished its investigation and sent the case to Sixth Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Will Jones.
Sixth Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Will Jones confirmed on social media that the case is now “under review.”
Col. Hagar’s statement appears almost apologetic in nature. He must know nothing will happen now, because his CID did not address ATF’s flawed raid tactics, which directly caused the shooting.
If it is distilled down to the base level, the shooting is simple. Malinowski shot at ATF agents, one of whom returned fire and shot him in the head. However, in order for justice to be served, a host of extenuating circumstances should have been addressed in the investigation, since this is far from a typical officer-involved shooting.
To be clear, ATF’s flawed tactics forced Malinowski to defend himself. He believed he was under attack by armed home invaders. But if investigators and now prosecutors didn’t address this, the case is over. No one will be held accountable for Malinowski’s death.
Col. Hagar’s claim that ATF will conduct some type of administrative review of its own raid tactics is laughable. The ATF has never held any of its agents accountable for civilian deaths. Fast and Furious, Ruby Ridge and Waco taught us that. Besides, agents didn’t even have an arrest warrant for Malinowski. All they had was a warrant to search his home. Agents listed a host of allegations in their search warrant affidavit, but Malinowski had yet to be charged with any crime…..”

EXCERPT: “An upcoming debate on a major farm bill package could present one of the last pre-election chances for House Speaker Mike Johnson to pursue substantive spending cuts and placate some of his conservative detractors.
Johnson has faced considerable flak from budget hawks in recent months over his support for a $1.2 trillion “minibus” spending package and a $95 billion foreign aid supplemental to send funds to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. The Republican speaker even faced the threat of potential ouster from Georgia GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who first filed a motion to vacate Johnson in March, though the House overwhelmingly tabled that motion this week.
The Farm Bill faces an end-of-year deadline to avoid the expiration of a number of critical programs such as food stamps and a Republican-led version of the legislation is slated for markup later this month. Traditionally, a sizeable, multi-year expenditure, it remains unclear whether Johnson will move to limit or reduce spending in the bill, though some House lawmakers have already called for such measures.
What is the Farm Bill?
The Farm Bill is a multi-year spending package that covers an array of programs across twelve titles. While the measure funds many agriculture programs addressing exports, farmland management, forestry management, renewable energy development, and crop insurance, the largest component of the bill by far addresses nutrition assistance.
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), better known as Food Stamps, is easily the largest component of Title IV of the bill, though that section also includes support for the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) and The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP).
The last Farm Bill was passed in 2018 and is set to expire at the end of Fiscal Year 2024, after which many of the bill’s components will expire if Congress does not renew it in time. SNAP benefits, like many entitlements, have long been on the conservative chopping block and a potential reduction of the program, or of the Farm Bill more broadly, could theoretically serve to placate that contingent of the Republican conference.
By the numbers …….”

Just The News: “The Justice Department sued the state of Iowa on Thursday, after the state failed to stop a new immigration law that makes it a crime for people to be in the state if they were previously denied admission to the United States.
The lawsuit is the second legal action taken against the state over the new law, which goes into effect in July. The first was a lawsuit from a civil rights group that was filed earlier Thursday. The department warned Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds that it would sue last week if she did not stop the law by May 7.
The department claimed that the law is unconstitutional because it allegedly violates the Immigration and Nationality Act, and impedes on the federal government’s immigration authority.
Justice Department lawsuit.pdf
“Iowa cannot disregard the U.S. Constitution and settled Supreme Court precedent,” Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Brian Boynton said in a statement. “We have brought this action to ensure that Iowa adheres to the framework adopted by Congress and the Constitution for regulation of immigration.”
Iowa’s SF 2340 was signed by Reynolds last month, and criminalizes a person’s being in the state if they were previously not allowed in the United States, or if they currently have deportation orders. If arrested and convicted, a judge can have the individual deported back to their home country. But if the person is not deported, they could be sentenced to two years in prison if it is classified as a misdemeanor, or up to 10 years if it is a felony and they have been arrested before.
Reynolds said she would not back down on the law, and the state attorney general has also maintained that she would enforce the new immigration law, despite the warning last week.
“As governor, I have a responsibility to protect the citizens of Iowa,” Reynolds said in a statement responding to the first lawsuit. “Since President Biden refuses to enforce our nation’s immigration laws – threatening the safety of our citizens – Iowa will step in.” Reynolds has not issued a separate statement in response to the new DOJ lawsuit.
The Justice Department said the new law violates a Supreme Court ruling that determined decisions relating to removal of “noncitizens from the United States touch ‘on foreign relations and must be made with one voice.’”
The lawsuit was filed on behalf of the Justice Department, Department of Homeland Security, and the State Department.”

Just The News: “Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) and Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) introduced legislation that would require proof of citizenship for voter registration.
On Wednesday, House Speaker Mike Johnson, Lee, and Roy announced the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, which would amend the 1993 National Voter Registration Act to make states require documentation of a person’s citizenship before registering to vote, The Daily Signal reported.
The legislation, sponsored by Lee and Roy, in the Senate and House of Representatives, respectively, also requires states to to remove non-citizens from their voter rolls.
“Due to the wide-open border that the Biden administration has refused to close, practically engineered to open, we now have so many non-citizens in the country that if only one out of 100 of those voted, they would cast hundreds of thousands of votes,” Johnson said during a press conference Wednesday.
“Since our elections are so razor thin in these days that we’re in—just a few precincts in a few states decide the makeup of Congress and who is elected to the White House—this is a dangerously high number and it is a great concern to millions and millions of Americans. It could obviously change the outcome of our elections,” he added.
Johnson also mentioned that around 16 million illegal immigrants have arrived in the U.S. since President Joe Biden took office.
Illegal immigrants are prohibited from voting in federal elections but there are not preventative measures in place to keep them from registering to vote, the speaker claimed. “If a nefarious actor wants to intervene in our elections, all they have to do is check a box on a form and sign their name. That’s it, that’s all that’s required,” Johnson added.
While non-citizens are prohibited from voting in federal, state, and most local elections, California, Maryland, Vermont, and Washington, D.C., allow non-citizens to vote in local elections.
“The most fundamental thing you can do to destroy the rule of law and to destroy our republic is to undermine faith in elections and undermine integrity of elections by making it unclear as to who is voting and limiting our ability to know that only citizens are voting,” Roy said Wednesday.
“It’s legislation that really ought to pass unanimously in both houses of Congress because the only reason to oppose this—that I can think of—would be if you are comfortable with or somehow want non-citizens to vote and non-citizens in some instances to influence the outcome of elections,” Lee said.”

Our Take: “‘I knew at the time.’ No you didn’t.’ – Chris Cuomo
Dear Chris,
Yeah, actually, we did. You’re talking to clinicians now. We were talking to them then. You were demonizing the FLCCC and mocking ivermectin as ‘horse paste.’ We were listening to their medical advice (which proved to be correct, btw). You question the experimental mRNA jab now. We were tracking VAERS reports and EUA processes then, realizing why ivermectin had to be taken off the game board.
We didn’t know the truth back then? Why? Because you didn’t know the truth back then? Why? Because you were paid to carry propaganda, and you did gladly. Only when you and your brother were tossed aside by the regime did you pretend to find integrity.
It’s obvious. To everyone. Do you know why people got ivermectin ‘horse paste’ from the tractor supply? Because doctors wouldn’t write it, and even if they did, pharmacists wouldn’t fill it. Understand that reality: doctor and patient healthcare decisions were thwarted by pharmacists because of government pressure and propaganda.
The government pressure and propaganda only worked because people like you carried it and demonized voices telling the truth. Many lives could have been saved by using ivermectin, HCQ, Vitamin D, etc. Thousands died because they were denied these treatments, given remdesivir, and put on ventilators.
YOU did that, Chris. That you are so arrogantly recasting yourself in this movie is brazen and disgusting. We all know your hands are dripping with blood. The history books will remember your role in this season accurately, including this moment where you try to change the narrative and pretend that no one knew the truth, you were just doing your best (lol), and you’re not an absolute scumbag that helped kill many people’s grandmas.
We will never forget.” — Ashe in America

National Pulse: WATCH: RFK Comes Out as For ABORTION UNTIL BIRTH.
ENTIRE ARTICLE: “Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. declared his support for “full term abortions,” also known as “abortions until birth,” during an interview with Sage Steele. In the clip below, Steele asks Kennedy, currently battling to get on the debate stage with Joe Biden and Donald Trump, whether he would continue the status quo on abortion, or seek to reintroduce Roe vs. Wade.
RFK said he would not leave the matter “for the states,” and declared that he thought governments of any kind – local nor national – should not be involved, and that the decision should be left to “the woman.”
“You would say completely, it’s up to the woman —” Steele began. “I would say it’s up to the woman,” Kennedy replied, adding, “We shouldn’t have government involved.” “Even if it’s full-term?” Steele pressed. “Even if it’s full-term,” Kennedy concluded.
RFK’s position, therefore, is that the murder of unborn children should be allowed up until their due date.”

National Pulse: “Hillary Clinton’s Feminist Musical – ‘Suffs’ – is Bombing on Broadway”
ENTIRE ARTICLE: “Hillary Clinton‘s feminist Broadway production “Suffs” is struggling at the box office and failing to attract an audience, despite being praised and promoted by the mainstream media. “Suffs” is a musical about the rise of the suffragette movement. Clocking in at nearly three hours, the production features a cast comprised entirely of women and “non-binary” individuals.
Last week, it played to 81 percent theater capacity; the previous week, it played to 78 percent capacity, according to data from The Broadway League. Broadway operates under the strategy of dynamic ticket pricing, leading to a possibly inflated occupancy figure as shows often resort to significantly discounted tickets to bolster attendance. This can result in a net loss to producers. Clinton is one of the producers of “Suffs” along with Kamala Harris’s niece, Meena Harris.
Clinton, who has carved out a strong presence on Broadway, has been invested in the musical’s promotion. She attended the opening and used media appearances on NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and CBS Sunday Morning to advertise the show.
Clinton’s affiliation with “Suffs” also extended to a recent Broadway-themed fundraiser for President Joe Biden’s re-election campaign, which was co-hosted by her and Lin-Manuel Miranda and included a performance by the “Suffs” cast.”

National Pulse: “RED FLAG! Here’s Who Rupert Murdoch Wants as Trump’s VP”
ENTIRE ARTICLE: “News Corp and FOX Corporation patriarch Rupert Murdoch is lobbying for Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin to become Donald Trump’s running mate in the 2024 election. Murdoch, who initially backed Ron DeSantis to displace Donald Trump as the de facto leader of the Republican Party, pushed Youngkin to do the job instead as the DeSantis campaign began to crash and burn.
A favorite of the donor class, Youngkin claimed he would not run in April 2023 but held unofficial soundings with donors in August, and mega-donor Thomas Peterffy mooted an entry into the Republican race as late as September.
Ultimately, Youngkin – also represented by DeSantis’s campaign manager Jeff Roe – decided against taking on Trump, despite Peterffy promising “the money would be there” for him. The loss of the Virginia legislature in November drove the final nail into his shadow campaign.
With GOP donors finally accepting Trump’s candidacy, Murdoch appears to believe getting Youngkin on the ticket could moderate a second Trump administration. Megadonor Larry Ellison and figures from the real estate industry are reportedly pushing for South Carolina’s Senator Tim Scott to get the nod. Others are pushing Senator Marco Rubio, an old sparring partner of Trump from the 2016 primary race.
Populist contenders like primary contestant Vivek Ramaswamy and Senator J.D. Vance — the preferred pick of National Pulse readers — are notably less popular amongst the globalist, moneyed class. Donors are said to oppose Vance’s position on tariffs, and there is particular animosity to Ramaswamy, with a GOP lobbyist “close to top party officials” saying: “Good Lord, if it’s him, I’m out.”

Congressional Democrats insist that the SAVE Act—which requires proof of citizenship to establish eligibility to vote in federal elections—is unnecessary because federal law (18 USC § 611) already prohibits non-citizens from voting in federal elections.
Those making this argument ignore a glaring problem: the government officials who register voters and conduct federal elections aren’t allowed to require proof of citizenship.
It’s therefore shockingly easy for non-citizens to vote in federal elections, leaving our elections dangerously vulnerable to foreign interference.
Anyone—even an illegal alien or other non-citizen—can register to vote in federal elections, just by checking a box and signing a form.
This is all on the honor system. No proof of citizenship is required.
It’s not just that state officials—who are responsible for federal voter registration and elections in our country—*don’t* verify citizenship in this context; it’s that the Supreme Court has told them that they’re not allowed to do so.
In Arizona v. Inter Tribal Council of Arizona, 570 U.S. 1 (2013), the Court held that the National Voter Registration Act (“NVRA,” known as the “Motor Voter” law) prohibits states from requiring proof of citizenship when processing federal voter-registration forms.
The SAVE Act would fix this gaping loophole by requiring anyone registering to vote in federal elections to provide proof of citizenship.
It would also require states to review existing federal voter-registration files and remove all non-citizens.
Remember: every state except South Carolina issues driver’s licenses to non-citizens, and 19 states issue them to illegal aliens.
This, coupled with the Motor Voter law and the Supreme Court’s ruling, makes it shockingly easy for aliens—legal and illegal—to vote in federal elections, even though they’re prohibited from doing so.
Considering that there are now nearly 30 million non-citizens in the U.S., including about 12 million who have entered illegally since the last presidential election, we desperately need the SAVE Act.
While Democrats are already mocking the SAVE Act, they don’t dispute that non-citizens shouldn’t vote in federal elections.
Rather, they insist that there’s no need for the bill because non-citizens—being prohibited by law from voting in federal elections—categorically *do not* vote in such elections.
That argument fails for one simple reason: it implausibly assumes universal compliance with a law that has become breathtakingly easy (and correspondingly tempting) to violate.
Some say that non-citizens wouldn’t dare register to vote in federal elections, as doing so is illegal and could adversely affect their present or future immigration status.
Even if this assumption were correct with regard to many (or even most) non-citizens in the U.S., that still wouldn’t disprove the need for the SAVE Act.
If even a tiny percentage of America’s 30 million non-citizens were to vote, they could change the outcome of a close federal election. And, as noted by the
@I_A_Project
, it’s odd for the left to insist so vehemently that illegal aliens don’t vote, given that congressional Democrats have inserted language “to waive inadmissibility for illegal voting in all [their] amnesty bills.”
Democrats can’t have it both ways; they can’t (1) credibly say that illegal aliens don’t vote in federal elections, and then (2) expect us to forget their own proposals, which assume the opposite is true.
In any event, and regardless of how many (or few) non-citizens may have voted in the past, why not take steps to prevent it from happening in the future?
The sanctity of your vote is at stake.
Now more than ever, we need to make sure that our elections are fair, lawfully conducted, and free of foreign influence.
To do that, it’s imperative that Congress pass the SAVE Act. If you agree, please like and share this post—and ask your members of Congress to cosponsor the SAVE Act today! https://dailysignal.com/2024/05/08/roy
