Happy Birthday Carol!

Today is Carol Burnett’s birthday (born April 26, 1933) and I found an article on Glamour.com detailing 10 things we may not know about this famous comedienne.

From Glamour:

10 Things You Didn’t Know About Carol Burnett

Jim Carrey wrote Carol a fan letter when he was 10 years old. Kristin Chenoweth wrote her one as well, but she didn’t send it!

Carol admitted to not watching much network television but being obsessed with cable TV. In fact, what is Carol watching right now? “Orange Is the New Black and House of Cards on Netflix. The Newsroom also.”

One of Bob Mackie’s most memorable designs from The Carol Burnett Show—the Scarlett O’Hara curtain dress—is in the Smithsonian. As for the other costumes? Carol has some of the sequined jackets in her closet. Oh, and how’s this for size? Mackie designed upwards of 60 to 70 costumes a week!

Carol wanted her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to be in front of the theater she used to be an usher at.

She hates to shop! When Kristin Chenoweth asked her where she got her outfit, Carol replied, “Oh, I don’t know! I think it’s like 40 years old!”

Carol’s signature send-off is tugging her ear at the end of every performance. So how did that get started? “It was for my grandmother, who always wanted me to say hi to her [on TV].”

Carol was not the typical show-off kid. “I was very shy and didn’t really get started until I got to UCLA.”

In fact, guess what Carol wanted to be. “I wanted to be a cartoonist, actually, and have my own comic strip!” I don’t doubt that would have been funny, but I’m sure glad she ended up on the path she did!

Carol keeps her incredible shape (at 80 years old, no less!) by doing Pilates twice a week, swimming, and “not eating a lot. But what I eat is good.” Whatever she does, it works. Her legs are incredible!

Her own mother didn’t think Carol had a future in the business. According to Carol, “I think I knew I was funny when I was playing with my best friends. Then I would make all these faces in the mirror all the time. My mother would say, ‘I don’t know why you’re doing that. Nothing is going to ever come of it.'” Sorry, Mom.

        1. Morning, Pat! High winds, downpour during the night and it’s off/on now w/temp at 50 – a lot more wind/rain coming. Thankfully, I am on the very outer edge of the bad storms but my Sis will be in the thick of things. Wheezer showed up for breakfast about 10 minutes after I put the dish out. He must be nearby where he can see my patio. Chad never showed up nor did he call so I’m giving up on getting the bed tilled, especially now with all this rain. I’ll do what I can down the center of the bed w/a new trellis and make do – after all, that’s what I do best…

sorry i didn’t respond earlier…i was checking the comment notifier thingy and it didn’t show any new comments and i refreshed several times (i was baking muffins). the last thing it shows is you saying good night yesterday. weird!

anyway…that’s a shame about the tilling–maybe he will just show up on a sunny day?

i thought i saw a baby robin this morning doing the dishes. it was running along the grass with 2 other robins, but by the time i got my noculators it was gone

            1. I noticed some issues with that yesterday – WP was glitchy. If he does show up, I may just tell him to take a hike, depending on the excuse he cooks up.

                1. It’s not something that needs to be done often. It’s been 4-5 years since it was done the first time and the young kid didn’t do a very good job. He is still available but…..I just don’t have much faith in his work, tbh, and I’m sure the flowers I want to save wouldn’t survive his clumsy attempt.

I can do just down the center where I do the actual planting – gotta buy a new potato fork, tho – the one I have belonged to my Dad who died in 1996 and the tine part keeps falling off! Gee, ya think it’s time for a new one?!? LOL

        1. I HATE those kinds of tops – half the time, it tears and I have to grab a pair of scissors. The foil tops on the creamer bottles are a LOT harder to get off these days – the glue they use now is like fricking super glue!!!

Think America is going broke? You haven’t seen anything yet. Biden is proposing a massive capital gains tax increase to 44.6% for high income earners. It’s the steepest rise in a hundred years. And I’m sure you know what happened after that. The end result of Biden’s capital gains tax increase is capital flight from the US, with many entrepreneurs fleeing for greener pastures—places that won’t fleece them for achieving financial success. Coupled with massive inflation and the debt spiral, it’s going to make the Great Depression look like a walk in the park.

BREAKING: CIA Operates Troll Farms in Kyiv to Influence American Voters and To Assure Biden’s 2024 Win. A former employee of one of the Kyiv troll factories owned by the head of Zelensky’s office, Andriy Yermak, spoke about how the interference in the upcoming American elections is taking place in Ukraine with the help of the CIA. According to the source, the purpose of the interference is to ensure Biden’s victory over Trump. A former employee showed a video taken inside a troll factory, as well as several photos, guidelines and a list of accounts that trolls use to influence the American voters. “Long story short we were asked to do everything to prevent Donald Trump from winning the elections. So basically, this topic was added to our main lines of work. Since then, each of us had to post at least 3 to 5 posts daily posing as the Americas and Europeans, criticizing Donald Trump and praising Biden. The Americans have even organized a few lectures for us to get a better understanding of American politics, the American mindset the main social and political issues. Then we were occupied with the topics for the job which sounded like this: 1.Unlike Trump, Biden is a smart and experienced politician. 2. Unlike Trump, Biden will never betray NATO partners. Trump will alienate our partners. 3. Biden will not abandon Ukraine. Biden will protect democracy, while Trump is Putin’s puppet. I honestly tried to convince myself it’s Okay since Biden is clearly a better option for Ukraine, but it was just too much for me… One thing is to work for the best interests of my country, but interfering in US politics is a whole other thing.”

and Tried to Bribe Him in Exchange For Client’s Testimony Against Trump | The Gateway Pundit:

“The newly unsealed documents detail allegations that Jack Smith’s prosecutor Jay Bratt threatened Stanley Woodward, an attorney for Trump’s valet driver Walt Nauta.

Bratt tried to bribe Stanley Woodward and threatened him with sinking his judicial nomination if he didn’t get Walt Nauta to testify against Trump.

“Upon Mr. Woodward’s arrival at Main Justice, he was led to a conference room where Mr. Bratt awaited with what appeared to be a folder containing information about Mr. Woodward. Mr. Bratt thereupon told Mr. Woodward he didn’t consider to be a “Trump lawyer,” and he further said that he was aware that Mr. Woodward had been recommended to President Biden for an appointment to the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Mr. Bratt followed up with words to the effect of “I wouldn’t want you to do anything to mess that up,”” according to the newly unsealed records.” …….

I wanted to make sure she hadn’t blown away since she is in the worst part of these storms but all is well. She does have one spot on her roof that is leaking but it hasn’t been that bad. Some of the small towns around her got hail but none where she is located. She is familiar with my road and agrees it’s beyond stupid to bring all that diverted traffic this way. Still driving the bus part-time but she is going to retire soon; then she can collect her retirement and after 6 months, she will be able to do special bus trips now and then. The kids always want “Miss Carol” to drive their bus! LOL

But now we are sitting in the Istanbul airport, waiting for our connection to Bucharest, Romania, where we will attend the Make Europe Great Again (MEGA) conference. It is 11:30 AM here – which is 4:30 AM Eastern time, I think…

Although I am looking forward to our four days in Romania, the 15 hours of airport travel in coach class are feeling pretty grueling right now. I am tired, my ears are ringing, and my concentration is shot. Such is life in the big city. Not whining.

We will be home on Tuesday and then off to Palm Springs next Friday for a quick three-day trip for the Health and Freedom Summit.

After that, home sweet home until June 20th – when we go to Italy for a book signing event and then a quick trip to Portugal to check in with the Lusitano horse breeder community, which is more or less the “mother ship” for our horse breeding business.

The above is easy to say, not so easy to live by.

But we must all try to resist what is happening in our nation.

The cyberstalking and cyberbullying in this culture is sickening, and they are working to help the government to control us all. By demeaning others, cyberstalking, cyberbullying, and harassing, we have lost focus on the real enemy.

“Gateway Pundit Files for Bankruptcy Protection.”

Entire Article: “Gateway Pundit, a well-known right-wing news website, has declared that its parent company, TGP Communications, is seeking Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in Florida. This comes in response to what the site’s founder, Jim Hoft, describes as a series of “lawfare attacks” allegedly initiated by “the radical left.” Hoft detailed the issue in a post on Wednesday.

“TGP Communications, the parent company of The Gateway Pundit, recently made the decision to seek protection under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code in the Southern District of Florida as a result of the progressive liberal lawfare attacks against our media outlet,” Hoft wrote.

‘This is not an admission of fault or culpability. This is a common tool for reorganization and to consolidate litigation when attacks are coming from all sides. It allows TGP to consolidate this lawfare in one court for ultimate resolution,” he continued.

“Despite the radical left’s efforts to silence The Gateway Pundit through censorship, de-platforming, de-banking, cut-off from advertisers, and other financial strategies, we will not be deterred from our mission of remaining fearless and being one of the most trusted independent media outlets in America today.”

The company currently faces multiple lawsuits, many of which stem from the information published by Gateway Pundit regarding the 2020 electoral process. Dominion Voting Systems, a controversial firm that played a key role in vote tabulation during the 2020 presidential elections, has leveled defamation charges against the organization.

Two ex-election workers from Georgia have also initiated lawsuits against Gateway Pundit. Posts from the media outlet suggested these workers were involved in election fraud, an accusation the workers firmly deny.”

        Michael Dreeben

“DID YOU NOTICE? Biden DOJ’s SCOTUS Attorney Was Also Robert Mueller’s Russiagate Lead”

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “The attorney representing special counsel Jack Smith before the United States Supreme Court‘s hearing over former President Donald Trump‘s presidential immunity claim was also a ringleader behind the Russia collusion hoax. Michael Dreeben, a federal attorney with the Department of Justice (DOJ), was revealed in 2018 as the primary legal mind behind special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into allegations that Trump colluded with Russia during the 2016 election.

Dreeben has a long track record of partisan lawfare. Prior to his tenure at the DOJ, he served as a staffer to Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY). It was Dreeben who, despite the Mueller team knowing that the Russian collusion accusations were false, engineered the legal strategy of pursuing Trump over “obstruction of justice” for opposing the Democrats‘ witch hunt.

In addition to his stint on the Mueller team, Dreeben advised former Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance on his “get Trump” operation. Interestingly, Mark Pomerantz was also working with Cyrus Vance at the time and would have likely interacted with Dreeben. Pomerantz likely pushed current Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg into pursuing the hush money charges against Trump, which are currently being heard at trial.

The DOJ attorney has argued over 100 cases before the Supreme Court while working in the U.S. Solicitor General’s office. Late last year, conservative commentator Molly Hemmingway — regarding Dreeeben — noted, “That the elite attorney is helping Democrats with their 2024 campaign strategy of lawfare is significant and showcases how much coordination between key Democrat operatives is behind this Soviet-style attempt to imprison President Joe Biden’s political opponents.”

Developing: David Pecker’s Testimony Destroys Prosecution’s Case Against Trump

…On Thursday David Pecker destroyed the prosecution’s case.

Pecker is the former CEO of American Media until August 2020. He was the publisher of National Enquirer and several other popular publications.

He testified that Trump “had no idea what [he] was talking about” when he asked about reimbursing Michael Cohen for the Stormy payment.

He also said the “catch & kill” scheme was devised by him and Michael Cohen–NOT Donald Trump!

        FOX News reported:

“FOX reporter: Pecker also said when he spoke to Trump about Trump reimbursing Michael Cohen for paying adult film actress Stormy Daniels, Trump told him he had no idea what Pecker was talking about.

“Pecker testified again about purchasing the lifetime rights to former Playboy model, Karen McDougal’s story as well. He said he did that in part because he and Cohen had concerns it would hurt Trump’s campaign. Notably, he did not say those concerns came from Trump himself.”

There never was a case here against President Trump anyway. Now, the primary witness confirmed President Trump knew nothing about this payment discussed in the case.

Another nothing-burger goes up in flames.

      16. did we ever hear of this before???

Trump’s Secret Service guards uncovered a recording device in the former president’s office, presumably planted after the FBI conducted searches at his residence in August 2022. Previously, Trump had accused President Obama of wiretapping his 2016 election campaign office.

The alleged weaponization of the judicial system by the current administration against political opponents is a central theme of the 2024 election cycle. While the nation’s attention is drawn to the hush money trial, it’s worth noting that in other lawsuits against Trump, his opponents’ actions can hardly be considered fair play. The most high-profile case, apart from the January 6 investigation, involved Trump’s alleged improper storage of classified documents. In August 2022, the FBI searched Trump’s Palm Beach, Florida residence while he was in New York. As the elections approach, new details emerge in these cases.

Recent information suggests the FBI raid on Trump’s estate wasn’t solely for searches but also for planting wiretaps. The Phil’s Podcast author cites a leaked September 2023 phone call where Greg Robertson, a Secret Service officer, informed his boss about discovering a recording device. Robertson was one of 24 Secret Service agents “subpoenaed to testify before the Grand Jury in the summer of 2023 when Trump was investigated for mishandling classified documents.”

The recording device was found in Trump’s office in the same wing of the Mar-a-Lago estate from where the FBI seized boxes of documents. The blogger says there are three possible ways the bug ended up in Trump’s office: “planted by someone from the Secret Service, implicating the DHS; by someone from the Mar-a-Lago staff; or by FBI agents who could have wiretapped the room during the August 2022 searches.”

The blogger believes “we can safely discard the first two options. Indeed, there are many people from different departments that do not obey each other at Trump’s residence: Secret Service protection, Mar-a-Lago personnel and guests, Trump’s personal assistants and their substitutes. However, very few of them have access to the aforementioned Trump’s living quarters. Everybody passes serious background checks before they’re hired, plus, the club’s security regularly conducts inspections of the personnel. It’s doubtful that the Secret Service could order the wiretapping. It’s not their job, and presidential protection has never been spotted doing something like this.”

It turns out that despite the large number of visitors and employees at the resort, the FBI could have both a motive and opportunity to install wiretapping, given their role in searching for documents. Additionally, the FBI has experience with such surveillance tactics. The main question now is who within the FBI authorized planting the recording device?
