Weird Wednesdays: The Cedar Peak Treehouse, Washington

Have you ever wanted to stay in a treehouse?  If you visit Washington, you may have a chance!

I found this article, written by Melissa, who visits and photographs her journeys on her site called Miss Rover.

Where is Cedar Falls Treehouse in Washington?

Cedar Falls Tree House sits on a lovely property named Cozy Acres. This beautiful spot of old growth forest is just outside of North Bend, Washington about 30 minutes East of Seattle. This Washington Treehouse is a very convenient getaway from the city.

Treehouse Details:

2 guests, 1 bed

No Pets

Kitchenette

Composting Toilet

Outdoor Shower

Note: the bed is in a loft with a secured ladder. It was moderately easy to get in and out of the loft space for me.

Amenities

Large Picture Windows

Wrap around deck

Firepit on deck

Outdoor Shower

WIFI

Projector and 100″ screen

Speaker for music

Cooking at the Treehouse

The treehouse provides a small kitchenette with a mini fridge, microwave and Keurig. Outside on the deck, there is a grill and camp stove included with all the basic cooking utensils provided.

We cooked the first night we were there, grilling kababs with a delicious jalapeno sauce.

The Bathroom

I know some people are very particular about bathrooms when staying at more rustic places! This bathroom is small, but very clean with a composting toilet. This specific composting toilet was wonderful. Sometimes they can have really strange/bad odors and this one smelled fantastic, like cedar.

Instructions are provided on how to use the toilet.

The shower is an outdoor shower below the treehouse. Hot water is available through a propane system that was really easy to use. The water heated up really fast and it felt very private and was really a peaceful, luxurious experience for me.

Prices of this Washington Treehouse

As of July 2022, the price to book Cedar Falls Treehouse on Cozy Acres is $290 per night. Also note a 2-night minimum is required(and worth it). This price is without the added cleaning fees and service fee that can vary.

    1. Morning, Pat! I’d love to have a treehouse – I record Treehouse Masters – he builds some truly amazing treehouses! And I sure as hell would NEVER pay that kind of $$$! Ridiculous!!! Anyone who does is a fricking idiot!

Temp is 37 here, sunny at the moment thru thin clouds. Weather report still claims a lot of rain is headed this way – I certainly won’t be holding my breath on that one! Within 15 minutes of putting the food out, Wheezer showed up. This time, after eating, he got up on the arm of my chair and was peering into the house. He is very curious but exceedingly wary.

Trucks & vehicles flying past my house constantly now! SMDH

        1. IKR? Insane to funnel them all down this dirt road!!! I certainly wouldn’t mind the outdoor shower – tried that at the nudist camp and it was wonderful! I have never seen a composting toilet nor do I have any idea how they work but I expect a lot of chemicals are involved.

            1. You don’t remember my nudist camp story? LOL – that was fun! It should still be on my list of opens at M’s, altho the pics are probably gone by now. I just sent you an e-mail w/the document attached.

      1. I have been sick as a dog with fever, bronchitis, extremely sore throat after exposure to talcum powder, dust and pollen. Went to one of the new urgent care places in the county seat near the Village and was impressed by the knowledge and thoroughness of their response and treatment – chest Xray, meds provided on site instead of my having to go to Publix or Walmart after visit.

The Village clinic refused to see me yesterday or to give me an appointment the next day – they sent me to the urgent care. They are their own little inflexible unaccommodating rules-based dictatorship over there. They can’t keep doctors at the Village longer than a year, if that. Something smells wrong about them. They tried to advertise as a community clinic, but failed to supply service and care…so no one wants to use them.

when the borough i was working for did their pandemic drill ( i left there years before there was any pandemic talk mind you) i showed up the appointed spot for borough workers and they said (handing me nothing) here’s your antibiotic.
I said I’m allergic. the “nurse” said then sit over there–you’re a casualty.

              2. We have used it on our children’s diapers all these years, but I used it on my upper body to try to prevent heat/moisture rash – and got a few good whiffs of it. I still remember how it felt breathing it in. Won’t do that again. Ordered N95 masks for yard work and house cleaning. Not being there, my house is dusty – so cleaning will be dicey with all the dust.

              3. The N95 masks are a few steps up from the blue accordian masks I have been using. I actually ordered a bunch of masks way before the Plannedemic due to an earlier case of respiratory infection due to dust/pollen exposure.

The lady next door to Sally is sick and so is the old man with the diabetes trained dog down the hall – and he’s just back from the hospital.

The clinic I went to said it’s spreading like wildfire.

        1. Not me – I no longer wear anything but long sleeve and 3/4 sleeve shirts when I go anywhere due to afternoon thunderstorms and A/C so cold in grocery stores and restaurants…and even in Dr. offices. I keep a windbreaker in the car and a shawl in my purse. I keep something like a shirt or scarf thrown over my shoulders all year long. Old rhymes with Cold for a reason.

    @PeterSweden7

HUGE NEWS They have now made changes to the WHO pandemic treaty. THEY ARE BACKING DOWN Now the WHO’S recommendations will be non-binding, meaning that countries will not be forced to follow the WHO after all. And they have dropped plans to engage in censorship of those the WHO deems to be spreading “misinformation”. Looks like they have listened to the protests of the people. Last year I held a speech outside the UN headquarters in protest of the pandemic treaty. This is a MASSIVE win for freedom💪

Why does this matter? Harlem Stage receives money from George Soros’s Open Society Foundation.

    Follow the money!

Look at the way the Soros family and Alvin Bragg and his wife are connected to Prosecutor, and former Biden DOJ official Matthew Colangelo and his wife, Anne Kimber Small.

“Arkansas Attorney General suddenly mum about fatal ATF raid — Unless elected officials hold ATF accountable, every gun owner is at risk.”

    LEE WILLIAMS, APR 24, 2024

Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin touts a new mobile health clinic during a press conference he held in Little Rock April 15. (Screenshot courtesy Arkansas Office of the Attorney General.)

EXCERPT: “Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin is the top law enforcement officer in the state, and he is ultimately responsible for safeguarding the lives and civil rights of the more than 3.5 million Arkansans who call The Natural State home.

After the ATF shot and killed 53-year-old airport executive Bryan Malinowski in his home during a botched SWAT raid, Griffin had questions about the ATF’s use of force, which Malinowski’s family and most everyone else said was excessive. Griffin publicly called on ATF to release the videos from their bodycams, stating “information from a camera helps fill the vacuum of conspiracy and all this other stuff.”

“Look, this is bizarre that there’s just been silence. I understand there’s a state investigation going on with it, but there’s nothing about this footage that should stop it from being released,” Griffin told the local media.

However, a story published last week revealed that ATF agents wore no bodycams March 19 during their fatal raid, and since then, Griffin — not unlike the ATF agents he called out for their lack of transparency — has gone silent about the killing. Now, Griffin lets his spokesman field questions about ATF’s raid.

The Second Amendment Foundation’s Investigative Journalism Project requested an interview with Griffin one week ago, but Griffin’s communication’s director, Jeff LeMaster, said this was not possible.

“The AG is not available for a phone or video-conference interview, but you are welcome to send us written questions that we will respond to,” LeMaster wrote in an email April 16.

Reluctantly, SAF sent Griffin 15 questions.

Elected officials prefer written questions far more than live interviews, because they can order their staff to research the answers. LeMaster admitted as much, telling SAF last week that he sent the written questions to several lawyers within the Attorney General’s Office. Written questions also make it more difficult to pose follow-up questions — a vital part of any interview — and they allow public officials to pick and choose only the questions they are willing to address. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what the Attorney General’s Office did.

Here are the questions SAF sent to Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin and the answers LeMaster sent back, which he said are attributable to him, not the Attorney General…..”

I am thoroughly disgusted. So few stood against the giant sell outs, but MTG nailed it. Her commentary regarding the bloated foreign money laundering aid bills says it all, yet nobody pays it any mind. They just waived their little flags and celebrated the upcoming infusion of money into their “campaign” accounts. Please read it and apologies for the length:

”The United States taxpayer has already sent $113 billion to Ukraine, and much of that money is unaccounted for. This is an example of a sick business model the US government wants to continue….. The Congress votes for money for foreign wars that the American people do not support….. The American people do not support a business model based on blood and murder and war in foreign countries while the government does nothing to secure our border.
The American people are over $34 trillion in debt and the debt is rising by $40 billion every night while we all sleep. But nothing is done to secure our border or reduce our debt. Inflation continues to rise every day and Americans can hardly afford to pay their grocery bills, they can hardly afford to put gas in their cars, and they can hardly afford the rent. And, now, average mortgage payments are over $3000 when they were just $1700 three years ago. Young Americans don’t think they will ever be able to buy a home and yet today, this congress thinks the most important thing they should do is to send another $61 billion to the war in Ukraine that the American people –by 70%– do not support!
… But, today, the most important thing this body thinks we should do, is not reduce spending, or drive down inflation, or secure our own border that is invaded every single day by people from over 160 different countries… We have over 1.8 million ‘got-aways’ and we don’t know who these people are… and yet we have people in this very congress ‘talking tough’ saying, “We have to defeat Russia. Oh, we have to protect Ukraine” and yet , all of you are unwilling to protect the American citizens that pay your salary, pay to keep the lights on, and pay to keep the federal government running. And for what?
For nothing! Ukraine isn’t even a member of NATO But all you hear in Washington DC is “Oh, we have to keep spending America’s hard-earned tax dollars to continue to murder Ukrainians to wipe out a whole generation of young men so there are (thousands of ) widows, and fatherless orphans, and not enough men to work in their industries. Oh, but you really support Ukraine. (sarcasm) What kind of support is that? It’s repulsive!
Shame on the American government! Shame on the American government! If we want to support our military, then support our military. We should be building up our weapons and ammunition, not sending it over to foreign countries to kill foreign people.
And if this body was what it pretends to be, every single one of us would be demanding peace in Ukraine; peace for these people, so that no more of them have to die. But you never hear anybody demanding peace. No, no, no. Peace is the last thing Washington wants because it doesn’t fit the business model. This is a business model they say builds the American economy and protects American jobs. What a disgusting business model. We should have a business model that builds-up our American companies and American jobs to serve American interests, and our military and our government should care about protecting the national security of the United States of America and the Americans who pay their hard-earned tax dollars to fund all this.
America last. America last. That’s all this is. America last, every single day.”

  6. Just The News: “Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell blasted former Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Tuesday, claiming he was part of the reason some Republicans have been hesitant to send more aid to Ukraine in its war with Russia.

Carlson, who parted with Fox News last year, interviewed Russian President Vladimir Putin in February. The two-hour interview was met with backlash from critics, including former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who claimed Carlson was too lenient in his questions for the Russian leader.

“I think the demonization of Ukraine began by Tucker Carlson, who in my opinion ended up where he should have been all along, which was interviewing Vladimir Putin,” McConnell said, according to The Hill. “He convinced a lot of rank-and-file Republicans that maybe this was a mistake.”

McConnell also acknowledged that Carlson’s criticism of the Ukraine-Russia war began before he departed Fox News. Florida’s Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis told Carlson before he left Fox that the war in Ukraine was not a vital national interest to Americans, though he later described the comments as “mischaracterized.”

“While the U.S. has many vital national interests … becoming further entangled in a territorial dispute between Ukraine and Russia is not one of them,” DeSantis said at the time. He has since walked back the statement.

Carlson has defended his interview, stating that he is not “pro-Putin” as critics try to argue. Carlson has been hosting his own show on social media since December.

“If I was, that’s OK, too. I’m an adult man, an American citizen, I can like or dislike anyone I want. I can have any opinion I want,” Carlson said on Glenn Beck’s BlazeTV+ program in February.

The Senate advanced a $95 billion foreign aid package on Tuesday, deciding to end the debate on the package so they can vote on it on either Tuesday or Wednesday. One of the bills includes $61 billion in aid for Ukraine, and another includes $26 billion for Israel, according to Reuters.

  9. EXCERPT: “Monica Tibbits-Nutt, Gov. Maura Healey’s crewcut Secretary of Transportation, is a real nutjob. In case you’re not familiar with this latest $196,551-a-year local poster gal for leftist lunacy, this Nutt is nuttier than a fruitcake.

“We are going after all the people,” she said recently at a public gathering of her fellow tree huggers and climate cultists, “who should be giving us money to make our transportation better.”

To elaborate, she said she is “basically going after everyone who has money.” No, not really. Nutty Nutt makes it very clear she only fantasizes about going after everyone who works for a living. Exempt from the apparatchiks’ diktats would be the non-working classes. Aren’t they always?

We work, they don’t. Some call it equity. The legislature could not be reached for comment. Here are some of the cabinet secretary’s fondest dreams:

    • Increasing the state payroll tax.
    • Jacking up local excise taxes.
    • New tolls on all highways leading into Massachusetts.
    • Forcing working-class drivers out of their pick-up trucks, which she claimed are “basically” 18-wheelers.
    • Charging more for Uber/Lyft rides, and for package-delivery services.
    • Writing more speeding tickets, and suspending more drivers’ licenses, and forcing motorists to appeal the loss of their licenses at the state’s kangaroo-court hearings.
    • Using state policy to bludgeon citizens into submission to the Deep State — “I’ll 100 percent use it as a weapon.”

Remember, among other things, Tibbits-Nutt is suggesting cracking down on law-abiding motorists in a state where criminal illegal aliens with no licenses are allowed to drive at will, in unregistered, uninsured, uninspected low riders with absolutely no consequences whatsoever.

But for taxpaying American motorists, here’s what the Democrats have in store for you:

“We’re getting really, really aggressive. We are pushing for less warnings, more citations. I’m telling you, nothing slows down someone real quick like getting your license suspended.”

    She continued:…..”

“DA Bragg’s Attorneys Make Fatal Error When Revealing Underlying Crime in ‘Hush Money’ Case – Trump Attorneys Must Move to Dismiss Now”

Prosecutors in New York have revealed what the other crime is that Donald Trump was allegedly trying to conceal when he was falsifying business records and they claim it was to unlawfully promote his candidacy. The fatal error is that the NY Statute they cite only applies to elections within the State of New York and not Federal Elections!

Trump was running for the federal office of President of the United States and not a State Office and therefore the premise of what the prosecution is trying to prove as the second crime used to get around the statute of limitations issue and to elevate this business records case to a felony must fail!

The case refers to accounting entries “made” by President Trump (which is lunacy) or entries President Trump forced others to make. But these entries were made in 2017. So how could President Trump possibly impact the 2016 election with accounting entries that were made (clearly not by the President but by some entry-level accountant in his multi-billion dollar organization) in 2017?

President Trump handed over his companies to his sons before his inauguration in January 2017. The accounting entries in question were made after the handover occurred.

President Trump didn’t make any entries because no CEO of any multi-billion dollar company makes entries to the financials.

  14. “America’s Greatest ThreatIt Doesn’t Come from a Foreign Government …”

    ERIK CARLSON, APR 24, 2024

Photo by Jorge Alcala via Unsplash

EXCERPT: “The patriots who founded the United States understood the biggest threat to America didn’t come from overseas. It didn’t come from invading armies, or giant naval ship canons, or marauding pirates for that matter.

America’s greatest potential threat came from America itself. The greatest threat to America came from the American government.

This is why these wise founding Americans created the Constitution. The Constitution doesn’t protect Americans from foreign adversaries directly; it protects Americans from an American Government that is infiltrated by said enemies.

In a modern era where average Americans now have access to unlimited information in their back pocket, they see themselves as being smarter and better informed than their parents, or grandparents … or the American Revolutionists. In reality, many Americans are probably more like the kid who plays the banjo on the porch in the 1972 Burt Reynolds movie The Deliverance.

As a nation, many Americans seem to lack all discernment, and while discernment and self-awareness have reached unprecedented lows, a sense of self-importance and entitlement has never been higher.

Too many Americans are like the abused wife who fights with the police as they try to take away her abusive husband. She doesn’t fight with her left arm because it was broken by her husband, but she throws haymakers with her right arm to keep him from being taken away. After he is arrested, she starts to make excuses for why she deserved the abuse she received, and tries to scrape together the money to bail him out of jail.

Americans in general suffer from Stockholm Syndrome, where one empathizes with and defends the people who are holding them captive.

Americans vote for the people who want more control over them. They see this control as not only being necessary, but good for the nation. When people question the controllers or the level of control, or the means of control, they are ostracized and ridiculed, fined, jailed, killed or censored—removed from society, from all positions of power and influence. They can’t tolerate any dissenting views. No one can question these controllers’ motives or hold them accountable.

As an example of this, the Federal Reserve has never been audited … not once, and it’s been around for over 100 years.

The Constitution was written to protect Americans’ rights—the right to be heard, to protect oneself and family. The Constitution protects the rights that are given to every man, woman and child by God above. The Constitution protects Americans’ basic rights, the things their forefathers deemed baseline—life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Nothing and no one should stand in the way of any American pursuing these basic rights.

The Constitution was written to protect Americans’ inalienable rights—again, not from outsiders directly, but from conspiring Americans within. Why would the early Americans deem it so necessary to protect Americans from themselves? ………

There are some huge mulberry trees, tho, between their yard and the actual tracks, which would help stop any train cars that might be flying around.
