Today’s entry in weirdness is in Mississippi. A woman bought a old Boeing plane and turned it into her home. The story is from Only in Your State.

Living in an airplane may seem like a concept only plausible for the rich and famous, but this unusual Mississippi home proves otherwise. Fashioned from an old Boeing 727, the airplane house is the creation of Benoit resident Jo Ann Ussery.
They say necessity is the mother of invention, and that definitely holds true in Jo Ann’s case. In the mid-1990s, the Benoit hairdresser was searching for a new mobile home since she lost her previous home in a fire. After searching with no luck, Jo Ann’s brother-in-law, an air traffic controller, suggested she purchase an old Boeing 727 and turn it into a home.
And that’s just what Jo Ann did. She paid $2,000 for the old aircraft, $4,000 to have it moved to her lakefront property, and $25,000 to have it renovated into her dream home. After six months of renovations, most of which were done by Jo Ann, the plane was completely transformed.

The unorthodox home is 12’ x 127’ and contains 1,300 sq. feet of living space, which includes three bedrooms, a living room, a fully-equipped kitchen (which even has a dish washer), and two bathrooms. The home also features some “luxuries,” including a Jacuzzi in the cockpit that overlooks the lake down below.
Although the airplane underwent extensive renovations, Joanne didn’t get rid of all the original features. The fold-down stairs were kept and are now opened with a standard garage door opener, while the four emergency exits, which are in the living room, can be opened to allow for a breeze.

Since the plane didn’t have wings when it was purchased, Jo Ann utilized the extra space and added a spacious patio and carport. And if it’s a view you’re looking for, Jo Ann thought of that, too. A huge deck, which overlooks Lake Whittington, can be accessed by a spiral staircase that was actually salvaged from a Boeing 747.
Aside from the unique factor, the home has many other advantages. For instance, it will never have to be re-roofed or repainted and termites won’t ever be an issue.
This Benoit home has been featured in countless magazines and television shows, including the “Today Show” and “The David Letterman Show,” in addition to being named one of the “20 Most Bizarre Homes in the World.” Sadly, in May of 1999, the home was severely damaged while being relocated a distance of one mile.

Morning, Pat! I sent you an e-mail – needed to vent. Some people make me want to smack ’em sometimes! I’ve got 35 this morning, partly cloudy and we may get some sprinkles later. I’ve gotten my shower and am doing laundry before they turn off my gas. Haircut at 1 pm, then off to the CH and Norfolk.
I LOVE the airplane house! Necessity is, indeed, the Mother of invention! Sad to hear it was damaged when they moved it.

Brilliant and so very true!!! That’s how I came to learn how to drive a VW – I needed to get someplace by a certain time and my sister-in-law’s car was the only one available – it only had 3 gears. So off I went – didn’t take long to pick it up. That was the first standard transmission I ever drove and they’re great for learning how to do it. After that, I taught myself to drive my Grandma’s old stick shift on the column.
So I had the basics when, a few years later, Rudy taught me to drive his Freightliner….back then, you still had to double-clutch and I never could get the hang of that….once we got up to speed, I could just use the overdrive button – easy/peasy. I forget now how many gears it had but it was a LOT!
I remember one time – Rudy was asleep in the bunk and I was driving over a huge, long, curved bridge somewhere around Chicago. I seriously thought we were going over the side and started yelling for Rudy to “get your ass out here!!!” I don’t remember now if we were still loaded or empty at that point and I don’t recall what we were hauling – steel or grain.
Oh, my….Rudy is another one of those “stories.” He married several times, had some kids, was suspected of murdering one of his wives, spent some years in prison, etc., etc. Years later, after the Legion Club closed here, I took a job as the Manager of the LC in Tilden. One night, there were several women sitting around with me at the bar and we were talking about abusive spouses. I mentioned Rudy and the old manager piped up and said, “Rudy who?” When I said his last name, she burst out laughing – SHE had once been married to Rudy! Small world, indeed!

did she have some good or bad stories?

Bad, abusive…I caught a hint of that after only a few months and went running for the hills! I made the decision to leave him once I realized how badly his drinking was out of control. He got physical with me when I was trying to move my stuff out, picked me up and slammed me against the wall. Uh-uh! Not having that! I hightailed it home and my Dad contacted a friend of his on the State Patrol. They both went with me to get the rest of my stuff.
She was considerably heftier than me but he even tried it with her. Just abusive thru-and-thru! He died a few years ago, I heard.

I’ll try to be brief. A quick music post. I was watching Austin City Limits with Alanis Morissette. Had a pretty good 3 album run from 95 to 98 or so. Her best selling album Jagged Little Pill put out 29 years ago had a song call Ironic. I catchy good little tune.
So at the end of the song the lyrics initially says “it’s meeting the man of my dreams and then meeting his beautiful wife.” Fine right? So she changes the lyrics too “its meeting the man of my dreams and then meeting his beautiful husband.”
She actually pauses and waits for a response from the crowd and they cheer wildly. I deleted at that point. Just another example of who and what the fight is against.

Yes, halters are common. I always cringe, tho, when I see horses out running wearing halters with nylon head-straps, like she is – the piece that goes behind their ears. If they get that halter caught on a fence post, a bar in the trailer, or a branch, it will break their neck before the halter will break. That’s why you should ALWAYS use nylon halters with leather head-straps – it will break before they hurt themselves too badly.

There will be a flood of lawsuits and we the taxpayers will pay
Illegal alien migrants staying in 3 Buffalo area hotels (in Cheektowaga) are now suing the state in federal court due to all of the crime ongoing and filth at the hotels.
The lawsuit seeks no less than $9 million in damages for battery, false imprisonment, deprivation of rights and infliction of emotional distress among other causes of action.
Advocates for Justice Chartered Attorneys, a public interest law firm in New York, represents the plaintiffs.

“SEC closes Rumble investigation in latest regulatory clearance of global free speech platforms–The SEC said: “Based on the information we have as of this date, we do not intend to recommend an enforcement action.”
By Madeleine Hubbard
Published: February 21, 2024 9:22am
Updated: February 21, 2024 10:20am
ENTIRE ARTICLE @ JustTheNews: “The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission concluded its investigation into Rumble Inc. and said it will not recommend any actions against the video-sharing website, marking the latest regulatory clearance of a social media platform promoting free speech across the globe.
“We have concluded the investigation as to Rumble Inc. Based on the information we have as of this date, we do not intend to recommend an enforcement action by the Commission against Rumble Inc.,” SEC Assistant Regional Director Sarah Mallett told Rumble on Tuesday in a letter obtained by Just the News.
The SEC still warned that the platform may not be completely in the clear. “We are providing this notice under the guidelines set out in the final paragraph of Securities Act Release No. 5310, which states in part that the notice ‘must in no way be construed as indicating that the party has been exonerated or that no action may ultimately result from the staff’s investigation,’” Mallett also wrote.
The announcement regarding Rumble comes after Truth Social, former President Donald Trump’s social media platform, said last week that it cleared its final regulatory challenge with the SEC to be able to merge with Digital World Acquisition Corp. following nearly two years of delays.
The SEC confirmed in January it was investigating Rumble, per tech outlet Wired following allegations that the platform inflated important user metrics.
The company denied the allegations and Rumble founder and CEO Chris Pavlovski accused the regulatory agency of acting in response to a “bogus report” from Culper Research, an investment research firm and short seller, in an effort to damage Rumble.”

Seems important:
Kash Patel tells Matthew Whittaker there is a 17 page document that took apart Brennan’s ICA – but the document was blocked from public release by Gina Haspel, and remains secret.

In other words, Kash has the goods on Brennan, he put it into writing, that record is a ticking time bomb under Brennan’s feet.

Well, that didn’t take long….the only thing he had to re-light was the water heater. I had turned the furnace off as soon as he got here and it came back on immediately. Turns out, he came here in one of my earlier years when a part had to be replaced. Only problem was, buried in the fine print was an exclusion for my particular brand of furnace. But he was able to find one second-hand – he had to drive to Norfolk to get it – and he got it fixed for me under my service agreement so I didn’t have to pay out-of-pocket!

Oh, yeah! When the reno was at the stage for electrical work, I hired Jake, a local guy who worked for the City at the time and did odd jobs on the side. So he’d come in the evening usually. One night, I was in my recliner, watching NCIS, IIRC, and the dude shot someone – I blurted out “HE SHOT THE FUCKER!!!” Jake did a double-take – it was then that he learned my TRUE nature!
Since I did such a major reno, I needed a bigger panel board but he wasn’t yet certified so he had to bring in another guy on a Saturday. Fine by me! Twice he called and cancelled – the third time he tried it, I told him “I will go get my 380 and shoot your ass!” He immediately said “I’ll see you at 9 tomorrow!” ROFL
A few years ago, I was backing out of a parking spot at HV in Norfolk – it was in November, colder than a witch’s tits, blustery – I had looked all around and no-one was coming so started to back up. A white SUV sped up to try to get past me and I backed into the driver’s door. I stopped immediately, got out and apologized profusely, even tho I knew it wasn’t really my fault. But the law says it is always the fault of the person backing up so I knew there was no arguing about it.
This preggers bitch who was driving jumps out of her car spitting and hissing, screaming at me and hollering that “you could have killed my baby!!!” I barely put a fricking dent in the door, for pete’s sake – my hitch was what did it!!! Again, I apologized, keeping my cool as she called the cops….sigh…meanwhile, as we stood there waiting for the cops, she lights a cigarette! Uh-huh! Soooo concerned about that baby, aren’t we??!!??
There was an older woman passenger and she got out and tried to calm her down, then came over to me – it was her vehicle w/her daughter driving. She was very understanding and we exchanged names – when she said her last name, it was the same as Jake – Peterson. So I asked her if she was any relation – yep, she was his Aunt! Well, of course, I told her about threatening to shoot him and she just roared with laughter, saying, “Oh, have I got one to tell on HIM!”
We had a good time chatting and got along famously. The cop got there, took all the info, looked at the door and said he estimated the damage at less than $1K so I would just get a misdemeanor ticket. Since it was on private property, he couldn’t arrest me. Oh, my, was she pissed, while her Mom was just fine with it! ROFLMAO

“New York Mayor Warns Migrants If They Keep Attacking NYPD Officers, They’ll Be Downgraded To 4-Star Hotels”
U.S. · Feb 20, 2024 · BabylonBee.com
NEW YORK, NY — During a recent press conference, Mayor Eric Adams announced that he will no longer tolerate migrant attacks against NYPD officers, warning that further incidents would result in a downgrade in migrant living accommodations from luxurious 5-star hotels to humble 4-star establishments.
“We’re sending a strong, clear message that we mean business,” said Mayor Eric Adams sternly. “If you mess with New York’s finest, you’re going to have to have a slightly less luxurious stay.”
“You can kiss those swan-shaped folded bath towels and mints on your pillow goodbye! That’s how seriously we take protecting our boys in blue,” added Mayor Adams. “No more Mr. Nice-Mayor! Gone are the days of hospitalizing local law enforcement by day and sleeping on 10,000 thread count Egyptian sheets by night!”
According to sources, many New Yorkers have heavily criticized the mayor’s new proposal, calling it “a full-blown humanitarian crisis” and a “racist affront to migrant dignity”.
“What’s next? Taking away their brand new iPhones just because they torched a couple of cop cars?” said one disgruntled citizen. “These migrants just want to feed their families and assault cops without repercussion! What has happened to this once great city?”
At publishing time, Mayor Eric Adams was left with no choice but to threaten to take away the PS5s from any migrant who assaulted a cop.”

“Trans Basketball Player Achieves Rare Triple-Double With 36 Points, 14 Rebounds, 11 Concussions”
WORLDVIEWS · Feb 20, 2024 · BabylonBee.com
LOWELL, MA — History was made by a local athlete this week as a trans basketball player achieved a rare triple-double with 36 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 concussions while showing total dominance over a team of young women.
The player, Steve Dawson, joined the Green Ridge High School girls’ basketball team this year and has racked up an impressive season, leading the Lady Wildcats to 20 straight victories, 17 of them coming by way of knockout.
“Steve has been a killer addition to our team,” said Green Ridge girls’ basketball coach Bill Sparks. “We’ve struggled to put consistently dominant teams on the court while I’ve been here, but once Steve joined the team, it was a night and day difference. Our team has transitioned into a real powerhouse in the division.”
“We’re not sure whether it’s her beefy arms or the fact that she’s two feet taller than everyone on the court.”
The Lady Wildcats’ most recent game against the Plainview Academy was called late in the third quarter after Dawson successfully knocked all of Plainview’s players out with injuries. “We just couldn’t withstand the onslaught,” said Plainview point guard Erica Anderson, who suffered three broken ribs while trying to take a charge from Dawson. “At a certain point, after you see all of your teammates being carted off the court, you just have to think of preserving life.”
At publishing time, it had already been announced that Dawson would be this year’s recipient of the school district’s prestigious Lia Thomas Competitive Courage Award to recognize Steve’s outstanding achievements in bravery and sportsmanship while crushing and demoralizing every opponent throughout the season.”

No, that’s not the way to approach this, IMO. Let this play out – SCOTUS has already ruled against CO, I expect they will do the same elsewhere. It is nowhere NEAR Constitutional! The election process is not delineated in detail in the Constitution for a reason – it is supposed to be up to the States how they choose to run their elections for the most part.
