Arkansas State Mammal: Whitetail Deer

White-tailed deer, also known as “whitetail deer,” or “Virginia deer,” are an extremely common American mammal. These deer are the most widespread wild ungulate, or hoofed mammal, in the Americas. These frequently sighted animals have a number of sub-species throughout their range. Read on to learn about the whitetail deer.

Description of the Whitetail Deer

Whitetails range in color from reddish brown in warmer months, to grey in the winter and fall. The most recognizable characteristic is the deer’s white under-tail, which is visible when the tail is raised. The males, known as “bucks,” grow new antlers yearly. It is extremely rare for the does (female deer) to grow antlers.

Interesting Facts About the Whitetail Deer

While virtually everyone in the central and eastern United States has seen a white-tailed deer, most people know very little about them. There are a number of interesting tidbits about whitetail deer.

Bergmann’s Rule – Though there are exceptions, white-tailed deer typically follow the Bergmann’s rule, which states that the average size of an animal increases the farther away you get from the equator. The average weight of an adult male white-tailed deer is about 150 lbs., but in the northernmost end of their range the deer can exceed 250 lbs.!

Substantial Subspecies – Scientists estimate that there may be between 30 and 40 sub species of whitetail deer across their range. Some examples include the Columbian white-tailed deer, and the Florida key deer. Both of these sub species are listed as endangered on the S. Endangered Species Act.

Not-so-Camouflaged Camo – Despite the popularity of wearing intricate camouflage while hunting deer, safety-color orange shirts and hats work just as well as fancy leaf patterns! Whitetail deer have dichromatic vision, meaning that they see blue and yellow colors the best. This also means that they are very poor at distinguishing orange and red colors.

Velvet Cover – White-tailed deer bucks shed their antlers every year, and grow a new pair. The growing antlers take time to develop, and during this time a soft skin called “velvet” protects them. The velvet is filled with many veins, which supply blood to the antlers, allowing rapid growth to occur. Once the antlers are fully-grown, the velvet dries out and is shed.

Habitat of the Whitetail Deer

White-tail deer are extremely common and widespread because they are generalists. This means that they can adapt to a wide range of habitats. They are commonly found in temperate forests, partially wooded lowlands, open prairies, savannahs, mountains, tropical forests, and wetlands.

Distribution of the Whitetail Deer

In North America, whitetail deer can be found as far north as Canada, and as far south as Mexico. Their range spreads all the way to the eastern coast of the United States. They can also be seen across Central America, and into the northern edges of South America into Peru.

Diet of the Whitetail Deer

White-tailed deer eat a wide variety of vegetation. They frequently feed on legumes, including alfalfa and clover, but will also eat the shoots and leaves of many other plants and grasses. In desert habitats they will also feed on cactus. Whitetails have also been known to eat fruit, corn, acorns, mushrooms, and poison ivy.

Horns or Antlers?

Many people incorrectly refer to deer antlers as “horns,” but horns and antlers are extremely different. While deer, elk, and moose have antlers, cows, sheep, bison, and buffalo have horns.

Horns

Horns are made with a base of bone growing from the skull of the animal, similar to antlers. A sheath of keratin, the same material that makes up your fingernails and hair, covers the base of bone. The horns grow continuously throughout the animal’s life, and are never shed. Because the horns are live bone and keratin, they will bleed if broken.

Antlers

Antlers are shed every year, and will regrow. They are made entirely of bone. Antlers have no center “core,” consisting instead of a single structure of hardened bone.

Whitetail Deer and Human Interaction

Deer and humans have multiple negative interactions. Humans hunt deer, both for sustenance, as trophies or sport, and to control deer populations. Overgrown deer populations can cause the spread of disease, and vulnerable plant species to be decimated. Deer are also kept as livestock in a number of countries for their meat, antlers, and fur. Deer cause millions of car collisions each year, an increasingly serious problem in the United States.

Domestication

Farmed populations of whitetail deer have been domesticated to some extent. While they are not fully domesticated, like cattle or sheep, they have undergone selective breeding. When farming deer, farmers selectively breed docile individuals with good meat production, and large antlers.

Whitetail Deer Care

White-tailed deer must be provided with a large enclosure that allows for plenty of foraging. The fence should be at least eight feet tall, as deer are extremely proficient jumpers. Their diet should also be supplemented with vitamins and minerals, as well as additional vegetation if their habitat does not provide enough for them to maintain their weight.

Behavior of the Whitetail Deer

Bucks will compete amongst one another to determine a dominance hierarchy. More dominant males are able to reproduce with more females. During the breeding season, known as “rut,” the males will battle and attempt to breed with as many females as possible. During this time, they will lose significant amounts of weight, as they rarely eat or rest.

Reproduction of the Whitetail Deer

Females become receptive to mating in late October and early November, and they will give birth in May or June. She will give birth to 1 to 3 baby deer, called “fawns,” and nurse them for 8-10 weeks. Young bucks will stay with their mothers for about one year, and females will stay for two years.

well hell…we’ve got at least 2 inches of snow out there and it’s blowing and cold. this was not in our forecast. it had flurries–a brief snow shower or less!
    and it’s cold out there!

    1. Morning, Pat! Join the club! We got 2-3 inches overnight; it has stopped now but the wind is going to be pretty stiff later today so it will be blowing around some, altho it supposedly is a very wet snow. Regardless, back up to 50 w/in a couple of days so it will be gone soon.

The flagging tails of the deer is the most prominent feature you see when they are running thru the fields. I have to take exception to this so-called “Bergman’s rule” re: the equator. I don’t believe that at all. I’ve been a skeptic of the so-called “specialists” or “scientists” since long before the so-called “climate change” scam. Got into an argument with my friend, David, in VA many years ago about hypotheticals and assumptions within the scientific community. Too many “theories” are accepted as fact and facts are skewed to fit the theory!

        1. Yeah, but even waaaay back when, they were accepting “theories” as fact! Just think about this: if the “assumptions” made during the development of their carbon-dating techniques were inaccurate….what about that entire dating process that underpins almost every historical “find?” It is suspect, IMO.

The investigation into Fani Willis has been damning. Here’s what we learned so far— -Fani hired her lover Nathan Wade as her top prosecutor & paid him over $700k of tax payer dollars -Fani’s lover boy met with Biden White House twice, and charged taxpayers $2k each time -They travelled to SF & Miami together on taxpayer dollars -The secretly colluded with the J6 committee and failed to disclose this per court’s discovery requirement Fani is expected to be disqualified for misconduct and removed from the prosecution. The entire case against Trump just lost ALL its credibility.

As a GENERAL PROPOSITION — when a Judge is inclined to rule against a particular participant, that Judge allows the participant to say pretty much anything and everything he/she wants. It’s called “protecting the record.” What that does is cut-off the losing party from being able to claim “You didn’t give me a chance to say everything I wanted to say, blah, blah, blah.” All it really does is eat up time, but the extra time spent in the hearing is a small fraction of what would be required if the judge was reversed and the matter had to be done over again. I suspect that if Judge McAfee was of the opinion that Willis’ conduct was simply unprofessional and unethical, but not disqualifying — taking the worst case spin on everything presented by the defendants — he would not be allowing his to grind on with Willis on the stand. But to let her say everything she wants to say, he has to let the questioning continue.

  4. “U.S. Taxpayers Have Paid Almost $20M to Maintain Super Yacht Seized from Russian Oligarch”
    The National Pulse

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “The upkeep of a Russian oligarch’s super yacht seized by the United States government has cost American taxpayers almost $20 million. Belonging to Suleiman Kerimov, the $300 million super yacht was seized by the Department of Justice (DOJ) after the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctioned the Russian national as a suspected money launderer.

The Amadea, a 348-foot motor yacht, has cost the U.S. government around $600,000 a month to maintain. Payments to the crew cost roughly $360,000 a month, and fuel runs $75,000 a month. Other maintenance costs run an additional $165,000 a month. A $1.7 million annual insurance bill is also due this month. The mounting cost of upkeep has led the DOJ to ask a federal judge for permission to auction the vessel.

Kerimov’s super yacht was seized in April of 2022 while docked in the Pacific island nation of Fiji. Local Fijian law enforcement, coordinating with the FBI, took control of the vessel after the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia “…found that the Amadea [was] subject to forfeiture based on probable cause of violations of U.S. law.”

In addition to seizing the yacht, OFAC also blocked $1 billion controlled by the Delaware-based Heritage Trust, in which Kerimov has a controlling interest. According to the U.S. Treasury Department, the Russian oligarch used Heritage Trust as a conduit to launder funds into the United States. With those funds, Kerimov “invested in large public and private U.S. companies and managed by a series of U.S. investment firms and facilitators.”

  5. EXCLUSIVE: “Fani Willis’s GA Attorney Donated to Anti-Trump ‘Lincoln Project.’”The National Pulse

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “Attorney Anna Cross, who is representing Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and prosecutor Nathan Wade on behalf of the State of Georgia, is a prolific donor to Democrat candidates and donated to the viciously anti-Trump ‘Lincoln Project,’ the National Pulse can reveal. The Lincoln Project – a controversial group recently mired in scandal – is dedicated to attacking former President Donald Trump and his policy agenda.

Willis and Wade — who had a previously undisclosed affair — currently face disqualification from the Georgia RICO prosecution of Trump and around a dozen others for allegedly interfering in the 2020 presidential election.

Anna Cross, a private appellate attorney who was also appointed as a special prosecutor on the RICO case, has consistently contributed to national Democrat campaigns and recently made substantial donations to Georgia’s Democrat Senators, Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock, as well as President Joe Biden.

While it is not unusual for attorneys like Cross, who are active in state politics, to make partisan contributions, they do typically tend to avoid supporting highly partisan non-profit groups such as ‘Indivisible Action.’ Cross, who served for over 20 years as a prosecutor in the Metro-Atlanta area, also gave to the far-left non-profit, which oversees around 3,000 local groups dedicated to “extricat[ing] Trump from his 2024 election bid.”

Outside Cross’s political giving, her husband has also served as the Chief Senior Assistant District Attorney for Fulton County since 2008, raising further concerns regarding conflicts of interest. Anna and Lance Cross appear to have deep professional and personal ties to District Attorney Willis and a partisan interest in ensuring Donald Trump is not returned to the White House in November.”

  8. https://www.theepochtimes.com/china/over-100-chinese-websites-pose-as-local-news-outlets-in-30-countries-report-5585581

EXCERPT: “The campaign is an example of a sprawling influence operation serving both financial and political interests, and in alignment with Beijing’s political agenda,” Alberto Fittarelli, senior researcher at Citizen Lab, wrote in his Feb. 7 report.

He called the campaign “Paperwall,” which he defined as “a large, and fast growing, network of anonymous websites posing as local news outlets.” The United States, South Korea, Japan, Russia, the UK, France, Brazil, Turkey, and Italy were among the 30 countries allegedly targeted by the campaign.

To disguise themselves as legitimate local news outlets, Paperwall websites often used local references as part of their names, such as Eiffel Post and Provence Daily for two French-language websites. Other website names included British FT targeting the UK, Sendai Shimbum and Fujiyama Times for Japan, Daegu Journal and Busan Online for South Korea, and Roma Journal and Napoli Money for Italy.

The lone website targeting the U.S. audience was UpdateNews.Info, a domain name registered in July 2019 and the first Paperwall website to be registered, according to the report.” — The Epoch Times

Our Take: “I can’t help but refer again to the CCP’s book, ‘Unrestricted Warfare.’ The United States, South Korea, Japan, Russia, the UK, France, Brazil, Turkey, and Italy were among the 30 countries allegedly targeted by CCP influence operations. The use of fake News Wires that parrot state media, and inject pro-Beijing commentary into these countries is not that sophisticated.

We must not forget how sophisticated the CCP’s understanding of 5GW is. ’[T]he progressive breaking down of the distinction between military and technology and civilian technology and between the professional soldier and the non-professional warrior the battlespace will overlap more and more with the non-battlespace serving also to make the line
between these two entities less and less clear.’ – Unrestricted Warfare

Given that this is the sophisticated understanding the CCP has had of 5GW since the 1990s, the idea that they are running such basic influence operations, which the report detailing these ops claimed had a very small influence, seems off to me. For example, what intel is gained by the CCP in understanding how their information operations are exposed? Do these ops help maintain the idea that governments need to be on the look out for ‘traditional warfare operations’ such as this one? Could this be to draw fire?

The question to me is, what covert 5G operations are these basic influence operations being couched within given the multi-domain nature of the war at hand? China has been caught doing this many times, yet they have persisted.

Even when China gets caught, it is unwise to assume they are doing what they appear to be doing.” — Simon Esler

In the two most politically sensitive FBI criminal cases since Watergate, the Justice Department has concluded the bureau’s confidential human sources had serious flaws that went undetected for years by the agents handling them.”
    By John Solomon

    Updated: February 15, 2024 11:55pm

EXCERPT: “The unexpected federal indictment Thursday of an FBI informant at the center of one of the Biden impeachment allegations created whiplash inside the media and Congress. After all, just a few short months earlier, FBI Director Christopher Wray had vouched for the source, Alexander Smirnov, telling lawmakers his name shouldn’t be disclosed because he had been “invaluable” to law enforcement and was so “trusted and credible” the U.S. government had paid him hundreds of thousands of dollars for his information.

Now, no matter how Special Counsel David Weiss’ indictment ends up – and Smirnov is presumed innocent until proven guilty – there is a harsh reality facing Congress and the Justice Department that is blinking red for attention.

In the two most politically sensitive FBI criminal cases since Watergate a half century ago – Donald Trump’s Russia collusion inquiry and Joe Biden’s Ukraine bribery allegation – the Justice Department has concluded the bureau’s confidential human sources had serious flaws that went undetected for years by the agents handling them.

Three separate DOJ investigations have now found evidence that has discredited handling of FBI informants Christopher Steele and Igor Danchenko in the Russia collusion case and Smirnov in the Biden inquiry.

Wray has tried to assure his overseers – most recently Special Counsel John Durham last year – that he has made reforms that solved the problem. But Smirnov’s indictment as laid out by Weiss strongly suggests otherwise.

For the first time, Smirnov, a resident of Los Angeles, was publicly identified in Weiss’ indictment as the informant who provided the allegations contained in an explosive FD-1023 FBI report released by Republicans in Congress last year….”

  10. “House recesses after rough week for Speaker Mike Johnson on multiple fronts—Johnson’s challenges range from the delay of the FISA reauthorization vote to the White House rejecting his requests for a border meeting as well as pressure to vote on a $95 billion foreign aid package.”
    By Nicholas Ballasy
    Published: February 15, 2024 11:00pm

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “House Speaker Mike Johnson faced a host of challenges on multiple fronts during a rough week for his speakership on Capitol Hill as the House recesses until February 28. The White House has so far rejected House Speaker Mike Johnson’s repeat requests for a meeting with President Biden about the record number of illegal immigrants entering the U.S. at the southern border.

On Wednesday, Johnson said: “I’ve been requesting a meeting with the president for weeks now, a month, I’ve been asking to sit down with the president to talk about the border, talk about national security and that meeting has not been granted.” “In what world does this make sense?” wrote Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, on X in response to a report about the White House not agreeing to hold a meeting between Johnson and Biden.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked about Johnson’s meeting requests. In response, she noted Biden met with congressional leaders in January. “What is there to negotiate, truly?” she said at a press briefing. “It’s almost as if the speaker is negotiating with himself.”

The White House mocked Johnson on Wednesday by posting a Valentine’s Day card that blamed Johnson for the bipartisan Senate border-foreign aid failing in the Senate. Johnson had announced the bill was “dead on arrival” in the House when it was first released publicly.

“Roses are red/Violets are blue/The border deal was crushed/Because of you,” the message on X read. Newsweek reported the criticism of the posting. Podcaster Derek Hunter slammed President Joe Biden’s age and the White House staff writing on X, “The President is 500 years old and his staff is 12.” X user Paul A. Szypula wrote, “Joking about the border crisis that Joe Biden created is not funny. Shame on the White House. Biden has the ability right now to secure the border by using executive order. He has all the tools he needs. He just doesn’t have the will to act. Shame on Biden.”

The White House is also sparring with Johnson over the $95 billion foreign aid package that passed the U.S. Senate. The border deal was originally tied to the foreign aid package covering Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan, and humanitarian efforts in Gaza. It failed to advance in the Senate. The border language was then removed and the foreign aid legislation passed with votes from Democrats and Republicans.

Johnson announced that he didn’t intend to put the bill up for a vote in the House. “The Republican-led House will not be jammed or forced into passing a foreign aid bill,” Johnson said on Wednesday. Some House conservatives have said that they oppose the $61 billion for the Ukraine war that’s included in the package. The legislation does not include “pay-for” provisions to cover its cost.

White House spokesperson Andrew Bates criticized Johnson for allowing the House to recess without passing the foreign aid bill. “Every day that Speaker Johnson causes our national security to deteriorate, America loses. And every day that he puts off a clean vote, congressional Republicans’ standing with the American people plunges,” Bates said. “Running away for an early vacation only worsens both problems.”

A GOP congressman on Thursday blasted fellow House Republican, Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner, R-Ohio, for making a public statement the prior day related to an undisclosed national security threat. Turner had requested that Biden declassify intelligence related to a “serious national security threat” so that Congress, the administration and U.S. allies “can openly discuss the actions necessary to respond to this threat.”

Rep. Andy Ogles, R-Tenn., argued that Turner’s statement constituted a “breach of trust” and described it as “reckless.” Ogles alleged that Turner had released the statement in connection with the debate in Congress over Ukraine war funding and reauthorization of the controversial Federal Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).

Conservatives and some Democrats have been pushing for the FISA reauthorization bill under consideration to be amended to include language that would prohibit the warrantless surveillance of U.S. citizens. Johnson decided to delay a vote on the FISA reauthorization bill while members continue to debate the issue. The FISA extension is set to expire in April.

Under Johnson, former Rep. George Santos, R-N.Y., was expelled from office in December while he faced federal charges. He was not yet convicted but the GOP-led House voted in favor of removing him from the House. The House Ethics Committee investigation found that Santos had misused campaign funds for personal expenses and “engaged in fraudulent conduct in connection with RedStone Strategies LLC.”

The special election for his seat took place on Tuesday and the Democratic candidate, former Rep. Tom Suozzi, was able to flip the seat, cutting into the Republicans’ already razor-thin majority of 219 in the chamber.

Despite the rough week in the House for Johnson, the GOP majority passed a resolution to impeach Homeland Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas over his handling of the southern border on the second attempt. The legislation failed to pass the week prior, prompting a social media post from Santos that said: “Miss me yet?”

The second vote to impeach Mayorkas ultimately passed on Tuesday by one vote but it is unclear if the Democratic-led Senate will hold a formal trial.”

      By Ben Whedon
      Published: February 15, 2024 8:31pm

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer on Thursday insisted that special counsel David Weiss’s recent decision to bring charges against an ex-FBI informant who provided allegations of a bribery scheme involving President Joe Biden for allegedly lying would not stop the ongoing impeachment inquiry.

Weiss on Thursday brought charges against Alexander Smirnov for allegedly lying the bureau, including for giving false information recorded in a 2020 FD-1023 confidential human source memo that outlined the alleged scheme. That document became public in July of last year. The indictments from Weiss, however, could call the credibly of the document into question.

In a statement provided to Just the News, Comer stated that the impeachment inquiry had secured additional materials providing evidence and would proceed. “To be clear, the impeachment inquiry is not reliant on the FBI’s FD-1023. It is based on a large record of evidence, including bank records and witness testimony, revealing that Joe Biden knew of and participated in his family’s business dealings,” he said. “Just this week, we had another witness confirm Joe Biden was the brand being sold by the Bidens around the world.”

“President Biden continues to lie to the American people about this matter and the American people demand the truth and accountability for any wrongdoing. We will continue to follow the facts to propose legislation to reform federal ethics laws and to determine whether articles of impeachment are warranted,” he continued.

Comer further had harsh words for the FBI’s apparent lack of action in verifying the material, despite receiving the allegations years ago. “Last year when Senator Grassley brought the existence of an FD-1023 containing allegations against then-Vice President Biden to our attention, we sought the unclassified FD-1023 form from the FBI. FBI officials and Director Wray refused to release the form publicly because they claimed it would jeopardize the safety of a confidential human source who they claimed was invaluable to the FBI,” he recalled.

“When asked by the committee about their confidence in the confidential human source, the FBI told the committee the confidential human source was credible and trusted, had worked with the FBI for over a decade, and had been paid six figures,” Comer went on. “The FBI’s actions in this matter are very concerning. The FBI had this form for years and it appears they did nothing to verify the troubling claims contained within the record until Congress became aware of and demanded access to them.”

Weiss, in his capacity as U.S. Attorney for Delaware, oversaw a yearslong investigation into first son Hunter Biden over tax issues. That investigation nearly culminated in a plea agreement, though the judge rejected the terms. The investigation saw IRS whistleblowers come forward to allege that Biden-appointed officials had interfered in the case to prevent the bringing of the most severe charges against him.

Specifically, IRS Supervisory Special Agent Gary Shapley alleged that said actions led to the expiration of the statute of limitations on charges related to the 2014 and 2015 tax years, which “included foreign income from Burisma and a scheme to evade his income taxes through a partnership with a convicted felon.”

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “Turner on Wednesday abruptly warned of a “serious national security threat” and requested that the White House declassify relevant materials. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines, and a Department of Defense official briefed congressional leaders on the situation Thursday, according to The Hill.

“This is a matter that we’ve known about for a few weeks. We requested a meeting with the president. I did, we did in writing in January,” Johnson said after the meeting. “The United States can’t rely on other nations to handle matters like this. We must do it ourselves and we will.”

The lawmakers confirmed that the threat at issue is the Russian development of anti-satellite capabilities. “First this is not an active capability that’s been deployed and though Russia’s pursuit of this particular capability is troubling, there is no immediate threat to anyone’s safety,” White House National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby said Thursday.”

I would think a government lawyer might do things a little more carefully. Wade or Fani said they went on a cruise but don’t know what company, carried around 1000s in cash, routinely exchanged 1000s in cash with no receipts, lived in a condo with no contract or lease agreement & didn’t know what the rent was or get receipts for payments, keep large amounts of cash in their house.

  14. Sigh….have I said lately how much I hate corporations?!?! Got a notice from my gas company that they need to schedule a replacement of my meter outside but will need access to the house to restart stove/furnace/WH, which are all gas. So that is set for next Wednesday am – temp is predicted to be 56 so at least it won’t get too cold inside. I don’t imagine it will take them too long.

But…I always select the 2 year budget plan, where the payment is supposed to be the same thruout but, of course, they have all kinds of little gotcha’s embedded. The payment is ALWAYS higher than promised. I also signed up for the service plan whereby most repairs will be covered for AC and furnace. I asked him it if didn’t make more sense to schedule an annual or even bi-annual maintenance check vs. waiting until an emergency leaves me waiting for 12 hours or more.

Oh, no – that costs extra!!! But if I want to add the annual maintenance check, it would cost another $8/mo on my service plan. They traditionally offer a discounted checkup every spring that is usually around $90. So, in the end, I would be paying even MORE than that by adding it to my service plan. Of course, he quoted me their standard price, completely ignoring the fact that they will be putting out a special price come spring! Asswipes!!!

  17. “Judge orders Trump to pay more than $350 million in civil fraud case—James had alleged that Trump manipulated the value of his assets to secure favorable loan terms and lower insurance premiums.”

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “Judge Arthur Engoron ordered former President Donald Trump to pay roughly $355 million as part of a civil fraud case brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James. James had alleged that Trump manipulated the value of his assets to secure favorable loan terms and lower insurance premiums. She had sought $370 million in penalties and an order barring Trump from serving as an officer in any New York corporation.

Engoron’s order obliged her on the latter point and barred Trump from doing so for three years, though he did not dissolve the Trump Organization, CNN reported. He further imposed $4 million fines on Trump’s two eldest sons, Donald Jr. and Eric.

Trump attorney Alina Habba called the verdict the “culmination of a multi-year, politically fueled witch hunt that was designed to ‘take down Donald Trump,’ before Letitia James ever stepped foot into the Attorney General’s office,” per CNN. The Trump team plans to appeal Engoron’s decision.

The trial concluded in January and a ruling had initially been expected by the end of that month, though the court later indicated it would come in “early to mid-February.” The non-jury trial saw Trump frequently spar with the judge, whom he accused of bias against him.

Ahead of the trial, Engoron ruled in summary judgement that Trump could be held liable for fraud, though the trial proceeded on other claims.”

  18. 🚨🚨🚨You want to know one of the BIG reasons why I fight so hard to force a peace deal in Ukraine?

    Here you go 👇

They have been saying it behind closed doors for a long time and have admitted it in our briefings, but now they are finally threatening it out loud.

They want to send OUR military, with its all time record low recruitment numbers and depleted ammunition and supplies, to fight on the front lines against Russia!!!

They threaten us saying if we don’t vote to fund Ukraine then they will send our uncles, cousins, and sons to fight against the Russian military in Ukraine!!!

They have said it to my face and I am purely disgusted that with our massively growing $34 TRILLION dollar debt, our open border induced national security crisis, and all the other problems we face as Americans these deep state globalists only care about fighting Russia!!!

Our military would rather stand shoulder to shoulder at the southern border and defend our own homeland from the Cartel controlled daily invasion of human trafficking and drugs than travel halfway around the world to be forever injured or killed fighting what amounts to a civil war between Russia and Ukraine that we should not be involved in!!!

Furthermore THEY LIE constantly telling us if “we don’t stop Putin now he will march across Europe just like Hitler” yet they have NOT and can NOT produce a single shred of evidence that is Russia’s plan and everyone ignores the FACT that Ukraine is NOT a member of NATO.

Yet our politicians and government sends BILLIONS of American’s hard earned tax dollars to fund the continuing slaughter of Ukrainian and Russian soldiers and OUR money is being stolen by Ukrainian government officials and NGO’s in the process. The wide scale corruption stories are countless and our money and many of our weapons can NOT be accounted for!!!

All while America continues to CRUMBLE AND DECAY!!!

Do you remember the OUTRAGE of the nation and the 13 families whose children and loved ones were killed in the Biden admins FAILED withdrawal from Afghanistan???

Do you remember our anger watching those 13 flag draped coffins being brought home???

    Heed my warning.

Do NOT send OUR military to fight in that senseless war!!!

And stop voting to fund the slaughter of Ukrainian and Russian soldiers and sending BILLIONS of our money to be stolen and laundered!!

If you want to fight Russia so bad pick up your weapon and go to the front lines and fight them yourselves!!

Polling shows well over 60% of Americans do NOT support sending more money to Ukraine!!!

If you are elected by the American people and if you are a government employee or contractor you receive a tax payer funded paycheck!!!

You work for THE PEOPLE and the people say ENOUGH!!!

  20. House votes to strip biden’s authority to permit gas export projects

    FTA

The House voted Thursday afternoon in favor of stripping the Biden administration’s authority to permit natural gas export projects in a blow to the president’s climate agenda.

In a 224-200 vote, the House approved the so-called Unlocking Domestic LNG Potential Act, with 215 Republicans and nine Democrats voting in favor.

Rep. August Pfluger, R-Texas, who chairs the House Energy Action Team, introduced the legislation on Feb. 1, arguing that it would ultimately overturn President Biden’s recent actions pausing permits for new liquefied natural gas (LNG) export projects.

“Just last year, President Biden told the Europeans that they needed to get off Russian gas and that the U.S. would supply their liquid natural gas needs. Now that it is an election year, he is reneging on that deal to appease his radical climate base,” Pfluger told Fox News Digital ahead of the vote.

“Two-thirds of the world’s natural gas is produced in four countries: Russia, Iran, the United States and Qatar. This effective ban on U.S. LNG exports is a gift to Putin and the Iranian regime that just killed three service members with their weapons to the Houthis,” the Texas lawmaker continued. “I am proud to stand up for American jobs when the president seems to only stand up for the interests of Russia and Iran.”

  21. “The making of a martyr: Navalny becomes Khashoggi 2.0—Americans have the right to opt out of this Siberian political drama.”
    JORDAN SCHACHTEL
    FEB 16, 2024

EXCERPT: “On Friday, Moscow authorities reported that outspoken Russian politician and Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny has died in jail, leading to a giant uproar in western media and political circles.

If you haven’t been following the news, just log in to your favorite social media application and type in Navalny in the search bar. You would think this level of attention in the west would warrant the news of some MLK-like figure being taken out by a western government. But no, this incident happened in a faraway Siberian prison.

Navalny, who has for some time been *positioned* as a legitimate political alternative to Vladimir Putin, had been serving part of a three decade sentence in Russia’s “Polar Wolf” Arctic penal colony. Navalny was often portrayed in the headlines as the one man who was going to change the system within a historic great power nation.

However, his campaigns were surrounded domestically by allegations of illegitimacy. There are some indications that he and his associates were attempting to sow a foreign-backed revolution in Russia. In addition to this, Navalny advocated for western-style liberalism in a nation where the citizenry supports an authoritarian governance model. The Navalny project never meshed with the general population, and thus he remained consistently very unpopular in Russia. Despite being accused of treason, he nonetheless was charged and convicted of a variety of non-espionage crimes in Russia, such as “extremist activities,” fraud, and embezzlement.

According to the Levada Center, the most reputable public opinion polling organization inside of Russia, Navalny has never been popular in the country. In the most recent poll (from January of 2023) conducted on Mr. Navalny, only 9% of Russians said they agree with his political activities….”
