Today is the anniversary of the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald and I thought in honor of Gordon Lightfoot’s epic song about that tragedy and his birthday later this month, I’d present another Lightfoot favorite of mine…Sundown.

    1. Morning, Pat! I definitely know how that feels! Wheezer was waiting for breakfast, hunkered down near the door. I have to pick up his food dish now since I saw a mouse in it yesterday! I’m going to figure out how to get it up high where he can get to it but the mice can’t. BTW, that peppermint spray you mentioned – does it say anything on the label about how it affects cats? 24 outside this morning but the temps are supposed to go up again and stay above freezing for a while.

          1. I bought it from collections inc–a catalog my mom gets. it doesn’t kill anything–i was worried about finding dead raccoons on the deck. it just REPELS them–they can’t stand the smell. and it supposed to repel mice, ants, and roaches too.

              2. Oh, I rarely see the dead bodies nor is there any smell. It dehydrates them so there is no decay – I may see a dried out body occasionally on the patio. I was very impressed with Jake catching one!

    Republicans did not lose because of abortion itself, it’s how the party handles the issue or rather does not handle the issue.

    And there are bigger growing problems.

    Republicans are losing Republican voters because the base is fed up with weak Republicans who never do anything to actually stop the communist democrats.

    Our voters are not inspired to vote for a party that wants to play nice and refuses to hold accountable communists who locked everyone down during the scamdemic, violated their free speech and censored us on social media, steals elections, weaponizes the government against (us) it’s political enemies and is persecuting people, rips our border open to the entire world and floods our country with millions of unknown people and terrorists, funds every foreign war but refuses to defend our own border, and sexually grooms our children to the point they are cutting off their own body parts to “change their gender” before they are even finished growing up.

    The Democrats have turned so far left they are communists using Marxism to destroy everything good while they enslave America in crushing debt that is driving inflation that is financially ruining Americans as they can’t make ends meet and drown in credit card debt.

    People are losing hope and can’t see a way out and think it’s all going to get worse.

    Strongly worded letters and tough talking media hits will not stop the overgrown and out of control Democrat run tyrannical government.

    The Republican Party is tone deaf and weak.

    They think I don’t fit-in in Washington when in reality I very accurately represent how the Republican voting base feels and Washington Republicans do not.

    Republican voters are energized and can not wait to vote for President Trump because he is addressing every issue I just named and they trust him to fix these insane problems we have and the American people believe he is the only one that will actually do it.

    Every poll shows it to the dismay of Trump hating establishment Republicans and Trump deranged Democrats who are both united in their quest to stop Trump but more accurately stop the people.

    Just wait until the Republican Party finds out how bad turn out will be once the days of Trump rallies and Trump on the ticket are finally gone.

    They will try their best to pretend to be him but the people will not be fooled by their rhetoric no more and bold actions will be the only campaign speeches they will turn an ear to even hear.

    Those days will eventually come and the Republican Party has only a short time to change their weak ways before they lose the base for years to come.

    We have totally proven our innocence in the FAKE A.G. “case.” We have WON ON EVERY POINT, including the fact that their so-called “Star” witness is a complete FRAUD, who openly admitted in Court that he lied, and that the information he gave to the bloodthirsty and disgraceful Attorney General was not factual or true. HE MADE IT ALL UP! Then today, Judge Engoron admitted that his original decision on Fraud was incorrect when he said “I’M NOT HERE TO VALUE THESE PROPERTIES. I’M HERE TO DECIDE WHETHER THESE STATEMENTS OF FINANCIAL CONDITION WERE FRAUDULENT.” Well, the Fraud that he said I committed was based on the values that were set. That’s what the whole case is about! He and the Attorney General knowingly put down ridiculously LOW VALUES on assets, like Mar-a-Lago ($18.000.000) so that they could say my Financial Statement numbers were “INFLATED” when, in fact, they were NOT…..Therefore he should immediately REVERSE HIS WRONGFUL AND TOTALLY DISCREDITED SUMMARY JUDGEMENT DECISION.

    Judge Engoron just did whatever the Corrupt Attorney General told him to do, a puppet, including using Valuations so LOW that they are Fraudulent. HE & LETITIA JAMES COMMITTED THE FRAUD, I DIDN’T. He Valued Mar-a-Lago atu $18,000,000 in order to make me look guilty of Fraud, when it is worth 50 to 100 times that amount. Now he’s trying to say that he didn’t really say that, but he put it down in writing in his Opinion. Judicial and Prosecutorial Misconduct!

    Florida can enforce its law that prevents men who identify as women from competing in sports at the grade school through college level, a federal judge recently ruled.

    The Monday ruling from the Southern District of Florida dismissed a challenge from a male high schooler who has taken estrogen and identifies as a female. He wants to be able to play soccer and volleyball on the women’s team, but state law, Senate Bill 1028, prohibits it.

    Judge Roy Altman ruled the law does not violate guarantees of equal protection because there is a “governmental interest” in preserving opportunities for female athletes. “[W]e find that promoting women’s equality in athletics is an important governmental interest,” Judge Altman wrote.

    He cited an older ruling from liberal Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens, who wrote, “Without a gender-based classification in competitive contact sports, there would be a substantial risk that boys would dominate the girls’ programs and deny them an equal opportunity to compete in interscholastic events.”

    Altman cited other cases that have established the benefits of sex-segregated sports due to an “imbalance” in opportunities for female athletes. “Courts around the country have similarly held that…the government has an important interest in protecting and promoting athletic opportunities for girls,” the district judge wrote.

    He further wrote that the protections are reasonable and not based on animus and stereotypes:

    In our case, SB 1028’s gender-based classifications are rooted in real differences between the sexes—not stereotypes. In requiring schools to designate sports-team memberships on the basis of biological sex, the statute adopts the uncontroversial proposition that most men and women do have different (and innate) physical attributes. Ignoring those real differences would disserve the purpose of the Equal Protection Clause, which is to safeguard the principle that “all persons similarly situated should be treated alike.”

          1. Same here. That’s another example of how I was able to discover how to handle them w/o having to take medicine. It was similar to my bladder infection issue (caused by the pill) – I figured out on my own that as long as I kept continuously blowing my nose any time there was even a hint of drainage, I could prevent it from moving into a sinus infection. Never had to see a doctor about it again!

    Kenosha Judge Bruce Schroeder Awards Jay Stone President of HOT Government (Honest, Open, Transparent) summary judgment in Wisconsin Election Commissions MyVote website lawsuit.

    Stone contended the MyVote website applications for absentee ballots were not legal, and the judge agreed.

    State law requires applications for absentee ballots to be made through the clerk in each respective county.

    Stone defended his position against four Department of Justice attorneys who defended corrupt Megean Wolfe, the administrator of the Wisconsin election commission. Wolfe, who is under pressure to resign, including the Wisconsin Senate, issuing impeachment proceedings against her. However, Robin Vos, the Wi. speaker of the assembly has been protecting Wolfe from losing her position as administrator.
