supposed to be warm for the next 2 days before turning colder this weekend…we’ll see.
spoke with my mom while we were driving yesterday. my SIL is pretty sick, she said. she just got her NEXT BOOSTER mom said. I said why? she said she gets all of them. But mom said she (mom) wasn’t getting any more–they keep making her (my SIL) sick.
There you are! Been wandering on-line for a couple of hours already….woke up in my chair at 3:30, moved to the bed…sigh…Jake’s shit smells sooooo bad and he is too fat for the covered litter box so he never covers it up….there was no going back to sleep for me, even after I reached in with the scoop to cover it. Wheezer was sleeping on my chair; 60 degrees and foggy then – the rain started pouring down a little while ago.
He jumped down as soon as I stepped outside and rubbed on my leg while I pet him; he sat down and waited patiently while I retrieved his food; Jake at the door being pissy, as usual! Surprisingly, Wheezer went outside even tho it was still raining, altho not as hard as earlier. We’re headed for a REAL cold spell – possibly a low of 16 Saturday night with some snow to the east!!! High winds and storms here later today into tomorrow, with possible wind gusts up to 40 MPH, from the NW. ALL the feeders will be coming down once it gets light enough.
I’ve posted several things at M’s already but this one – THIS is a big issue for me and has been for many, many years! Even before alcohol enters the picture, THIS sets kids up for drug addiction in later life. No-one will convince me otherwise! Judicious application of pharma drugs can often be helpful but it has become simply a way to avoid the hard job of teaching kids how to deal with their “issues” vs. drugging them away and simply covering them up!

This Writ of Mandamus (Application) is something Justice Thomas can rule on independently.

OK, no-one is talking about this…as Speaker, Johnson is now responsible for “arranging” the campaign financing for the upcoming election season for ALL of the GOP in the House!!! ENTIRE ARTICLE @ LifeSiteNews: “CALGARY, Alberta (LifeSiteNews) — Two Calgary men are facing charges after someone reported their private conversation on city transit while they travelled to the province’s Million Person March last month. On October 24, The Democracy Fund (TDF) announced that they will represent the two men, who were ticketed following their conversation. “The men, who have not been told what they did to contravene the by-law, report having had a private conversation on the C-train with a like-minded passenger enroute to the march,” TDF said in a news release.
The men were charged with violating the city bylaw which prohibits public transit users from engaging in activity that would “interfere with the comfort, convenience, or quiet use and enjoyment of the transit system of any reasonable person.” However, the city of Calgary has yet to disclose the details of their conversation which are allegedly opposed to the bylaw.
The two men were riding the mostly empty train on their way to participate in the September 20 Million Person March to defend children from LGBT propaganda in schools. According to TDF, it seems that another passenger overhead their conversation and reported it. The two men were detained by enforcement officers upon exiting the train. Police handcuffed one of the men while they attempted to confirm his identity. Both men were then ticketed and summoned to court in late November 2023 before being released.
TDF voiced concern over the increase of city bylaws used to restrict controversial, but not criminal, conversations. In July, Calgary passed a bylaw restricting the distribution of images of all unborn mammals. According to the new bylaw, “any materials that contain the image of a fetus must be enclosed in a non-transparent envelope with a warning label and the return address of the sender. Violators will face fines of up $1000.00.”
Earlier, in March, Calgary introduced another bylaw outlawing “discriminatory protests near public facilities” which includes public pools, recreation centres, and libraries, following protests over drag queen story hour events for children at public libraries. Oh, yeah – it is still solid – I buried the metal L-shaped posts on each end in front, bungee’d the seat, with the cement block laying against the bottom cross-bar. It’s not going anywhere! I’ve still got the swing in the back tied down from the last time – also with bungees. I picked up another $10 20-piece set of the bigger ones at WM yesterday. I’d be lost w/o bungees!!! I have a container of 100 of the tiny black bungees from a while ago for about $5.00. I use those in a TON of different ways for my feeders, like keeping the metal rain cover centered on the WP block feeder.
There is one question I would love to ask Mike Johnson – if he answered it correctly (IMO, of course – the entire legal world disagrees with me for the most part) – then I would know 110% that he can be totally trusted: the natural-born citizen issue. Biden’s recent action fast-tracking work authorizations for Venezuelan border crossers, who make up about 41% of recent arrivals in New York City, will make tens of thousands of them eligible to vote under New York City’s new law, as soon as they obtain their working papers.
That is, if New York City’s voting law is allowed to go into effect. A big “if.” The law is tied up in court.
A group of Republicans led by Staten Island Borough President Vito Fossella sued, arguing the state constitution grants the right to vote to “every citizen.” A Staten Island judge bought that argument and struck down the law, but Adams’ law department is appealing that ruling in a higher court, arguing that the state constitution does not specifically prohibit noncitizens from voting.
Adams has a shot at winning. Vermont’s top court ruled in favor of allowing noncitizens to vote in municipal elections, even though the Vermont constitution restricts voting in state elections to U.S. citizens.
California and Maryland also already permit municipalities to enfranchise noncitizens.
The Boston City Council is debating allowing newcomers to vote, including migrants who recently came across the border illegally and have temporary protected status.
In Washington, D.C., Democrats rammed through a local law in November 2022 allowing noncitizens, even foreign embassy employees, to vote, as long as they’ve resided in the city for 30 days.
In Connecticut, Democrats want to amend the state’s constitution to allow noncitizens to vote in state and local elections. Amending the state’s charter is a multiyear complicated process, and it’s facing stiff opposition from the Republican minority in the legislature. House Minority Leader Rep. Vincent Candelora calls noncitizen voting “outrageous.”

THAT tells you all you need to know about Johnson!!! I seem to recall mentioning him waaaay back when after the fraudulent election….I can distinctly remember the moment but damned if I can remember the details….oh, yeah, now I remember! It was during one of Trump’s impeachment hearings – Johnson gave an outstanding speech, as did Dershowitz. There was another time he was interviewed on Fox but I don’t recall the subject matter now.

OK, no-one is talking about this…as Speaker, Johnson is now responsible for “arranging” the campaign financing for the upcoming election season for ALL of the GOP in the House!!! Stop and think about the pressure that brings to bear on him, on top of the “regular” duties!!! Someone, somewhere, somehow MUST come up with a way to eliminate the $$$ in elections! I cannot say that enough and I just wish my pea brain was capable of doing it. I get lost in intricacies like that and just don’t know enough about finance and everything else involved….probably take someone like Trump to focus on it!

this both baffles me and pisses me off. the fib wanted to move their headquarters. President Trump as HEAD of the executive branch should have a SAY in stuff like that, but the left attacked him–investigations ensued and now we learn congress didn’t allocate enough funding. “With regard to possible influence by then-President Trump or the White House, we found no evidence that the FBI’s decisions were based on improper considerations or motives,” the Justice Department inspector general wrote in a report released on Oct. 24, after a four-year investigation.
Starting in 2014, the government began to explore the possibility of transferring ownership of the current FBI headquarters land to a developer, who in exchange would build a new facility in the city’s suburbs in a deal dubbed an “exchange procurement.”
However, the General Services Administration (GSA) found that the value of the existing site wouldn’t cover the cost of a new facility, and so the Office of Management and Budget asked Congress for money to cover the difference.
Canceled Plans
In July 2017, the GSA announced that it had canceled plans to go ahead with the exchange procurement deal because Congress didn’t appropriate all of the requested funds. This prompted the FBI to scrap plans for a suburban campus and instead recommend that the J. Edgar Hoover Building be demolished and a new headquarters constructed in its place.

ENTIRE ARTICLE @ LifeSiteNews: “CALGARY, Alberta (LifeSiteNews) — Two Calgary men are facing charges after someone reported their private conversation on city transit while they travelled to the province’s Million Person March last month. On October 24, The Democracy Fund (TDF) announced that they will represent the two men, who were ticketed following their conversation. “The men, who have not been told what they did to contravene the by-law, report having had a private conversation on the C-train with a like-minded passenger enroute to the march,” TDF said in a news release.
The men were charged with violating the city bylaw which prohibits public transit users from engaging in activity that would “interfere with the comfort, convenience, or quiet use and enjoyment of the transit system of any reasonable person.” However, the city of Calgary has yet to disclose the details of their conversation which are allegedly opposed to the bylaw.
The two men were riding the mostly empty train on their way to participate in the September 20 Million Person March to defend children from LGBT propaganda in schools. According to TDF, it seems that another passenger overhead their conversation and reported it. The two men were detained by enforcement officers upon exiting the train. Police handcuffed one of the men while they attempted to confirm his identity. Both men were then ticketed and summoned to court in late November 2023 before being released.
TDF voiced concern over the increase of city bylaws used to restrict controversial, but not criminal, conversations. In July, Calgary passed a bylaw restricting the distribution of images of all unborn mammals. According to the new bylaw, “any materials that contain the image of a fetus must be enclosed in a non-transparent envelope with a warning label and the return address of the sender. Violators will face fines of up $1000.00.”
Earlier, in March, Calgary introduced another bylaw outlawing “discriminatory protests near public facilities” which includes public pools, recreation centres, and libraries, following protests over drag queen story hour events for children at public libraries. Likewise, Campaign Life Coalition (CLC) has recently warned of a growing number of Canadian cities passing laws to censor protests against LGBT indoctrination. Cities moving to further restrict free speech include Edmonton, Calgary, Kitchener, Cambridge, St. Catharines, and Waterloo.”

Huh…just got an emergency alert on my phone about being careful of lowland flooding…storms are moving in and we may get close to 1″ of rain here, with more to the east….no wind here yet but I’ve taken all the feeders down in preparation and tightly lashed the exterior door so it doesn’t blow away. Wheezer hasn’t returned yet.

Oh, yeah – it is still solid – I buried the metal L-shaped posts on each end in front, bungee’d the seat, with the cement block laying against the bottom cross-bar. It’s not going anywhere! I’ve still got the swing in the back tied down from the last time – also with bungees. I picked up another $10 20-piece set of the bigger ones at WM yesterday. I’d be lost w/o bungees!!! I have a container of 100 of the tiny black bungees from a while ago for about $5.00. I use those in a TON of different ways for my feeders, like keeping the metal rain cover centered on the WP block feeder.

There is one question I would love to ask Mike Johnson – if he answered it correctly (IMO, of course – the entire legal world disagrees with me for the most part) – then I would know 110% that he can be totally trusted: the natural-born citizen issue. That MUST be addressed once and for all at some point, and the sooner the better!!!

Oh, I agree with that but that’s a much broader issue; I’m thinking specifically about what actually constitutes a natural-born citizen; i.e., both parents being citizens, birth on US soil, required for President and Vice President.

New York Mayor Eric Adams’ rhetoric is typical. He warns that the overwhelming number of migrants arriving — currently 16,000 to 17,000 a month — “will destroy New York City,” but he’s also leading the legal effort to turn migrants into voters.
Adams and other New York Democrats pushed President Joe Biden to expedite work authorizations for them. They said it’s about making migrants self-sufficient. Maybe, but Dems have another powerful motive.
If you read the fine print of New York City’s “Our City, Our Vote” law, enacted in December 2021, it says that anyone with a work authorization who has been in the city for a mere 30 days can vote, even if they entered the country illegally.
Biden’s recent action fast-tracking work authorizations for Venezuelan border crossers, who make up about 41% of recent arrivals in New York City, will make tens of thousands of them eligible to vote under New York City’s new law, as soon as they obtain their working papers.
That is, if New York City’s voting law is allowed to go into effect. A big “if.” The law is tied up in court.
A group of Republicans led by Staten Island Borough President Vito Fossella sued, arguing the state constitution grants the right to vote to “every citizen.” A Staten Island judge bought that argument and struck down the law, but Adams’ law department is appealing that ruling in a higher court, arguing that the state constitution does not specifically prohibit noncitizens from voting.
Adams has a shot at winning. Vermont’s top court ruled in favor of allowing noncitizens to vote in municipal elections, even though the Vermont constitution restricts voting in state elections to U.S. citizens.
California and Maryland also already permit municipalities to enfranchise noncitizens.
The Boston City Council is debating allowing newcomers to vote, including migrants who recently came across the border illegally and have temporary protected status.
In Washington, D.C., Democrats rammed through a local law in November 2022 allowing noncitizens, even foreign embassy employees, to vote, as long as they’ve resided in the city for 30 days.
In Connecticut, Democrats want to amend the state’s constitution to allow noncitizens to vote in state and local elections. Amending the state’s charter is a multiyear complicated process, and it’s facing stiff opposition from the Republican minority in the legislature. House Minority Leader Rep. Vincent Candelora calls noncitizen voting “outrageous.”

oh yeah…i checked the turkey prices at walmart yesterday. the turkey breasts were $3.22 a pound!!!! 2 weeks ago. Last year, they were $2.22 a pound. Yesterday they were down to $2.68 a pound. we’ll see if they drop a little more closer to Thanksgiving. I may pick up another one.
I usually buy a couple of turkey breasts but my mom said she’d love the dark meat, so if those prices go down, i will get those instead.
and we got some corn which they haven’t had for a few weeks, we had it for lunch–WONDERFUL!

“Speaker of the House?! I just assumed he worked at Best Buy or something,” said Johnson’s close friend Bill Watts. “When I turned on the television today and saw him holding up the gavel on the House floor, I was totally stunned. A congressman? Are you sure?”
After a tumultuous several weeks, the Republican majority in the House of Representatives finally came together to unanimously elect Johnson. “We were running out of guys to nominate,” said Kentucky Representative Thomas Massie. “Eventually, as a joke, somebody grabbed who we thought was just one of the IT guys in the hallway.
