The Congressional Theme Song

I bet you didn’t know there was a Congressional Theme Song…well there is!  I just heard it the other day and it explains EVERYTHING!  The Title is “If You Go Down, (I’m Going Down Too) by Kelsea Ballerini.  Read the lyrics…you’ll see!

I’ve known you since Brad and Angelina
We go back like Pontiac seats
If I got an aisle with a mess I gotta clean up
I know you’ll be showin’ up with bleach

All those names that we don’t ever speak of
Got a couple nights that have slipped my mind
Proof and photographs have been deleted
If you ever needed an alibi

‘Cause dirt on you is dirt on me
And we both know our hands ain’t clean
If it all blows up and we end up on the news
If you go down, I’m goin’ down too

It’s a good thing we’re each other’s kinda crazy
Ain’t no judgment or keepin’ score
If you rob a bank, I’m your getaway Mercedes
God knows that’s what friends are for

‘Cause dirt on you is dirt on me
And we both know our hands ain’t clean
If it all blows up and we end up on the news
If you go down, I’m goin’ down too
If you go down, I’m goin’ down too, yeah

I keep all your secrets by the dozen
You know where my skeletons sleep
Hypothetically, if you ever kill your husband
Hand on the Bible, I’d be lyin’ through my teeth

Our bodies are buried and they’re in the same ditch
So even if I wanted to, I can’t snitch
30 to life would go quicker with you, yeah
So, if you go down, I’m goin’ down too
If you go down, I’m goin’ down too
If you go down, I’m goin’ down too

I think this truly represents the ideology in government. This is why things never change.  If you take down one? You gotta take them ALL down.

On the other hand, when someone has been a direct threat to Putin, he doesn’t seem to have been averse to taking the “problem” out; case in point, Prigozhin of the Wagner group, poisoning of Sergei Skripal, poisoning of Alexander Litvinenko…etc.

  3. Morning! Nipply at 36 this morning but at least the wind has died down. GT never showed up as far as I could tell – no food was eaten. I’ve got it back on the patio w/the door propped open. We’ll see if she shows today – saw the black calico by the garden bed yesterday afternoon looking for birds.

  6. what a load of CRAP! instead of paying off their student loans, they put their money into real estate and now want TAXPAYERS to pay off their student loans!!
    FTA
The Democratic Party’s pick to unseat Florida Sen. Rick Scott (R.) wants taxpayers to cancel her thousands of dollars of student debt. She and her husband own a $3 million house.

That’s nearly three times what former Rep. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell and her husband Robert Powell paid for their Pinecrest, Florida, abode in 2009. The couple dropped $1.15 million on the 4,600-square-foot home, which boasts six bedrooms and five bathrooms, according to Miami-Dade County deeds.

Now, Mucarsel-Powell wants help with her student loan debt, which totals anywhere from $15,001 to $50,000, according to her 2021 financial disclosure. In February 2019, Mucarsel-Powell complained that both she and her husband were still making loan payments.

“I’m still paying my student loans, so is my husband, my sister and close friends. We must tackle #StudentDebt & make education affordable,” she wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Mucarsel-Powell co-sponsored the No Student Loan Interest Act in 2019, which “provides for the cancellation of interest on certain federal student loans.” In 2021, Mucarsel-Powell said, “the student debt issue is exactly the same issue we’ve had with healthcare in this country, a third payer system where the consumer loses & only the financial institutions profit.”

Mucarsel-Powell’s campaign did not respond to a request for comment.

Democrats have high hopes for Mucarsel-Powell, who is seeking to be the first member of her party elected to represent Florida in the Senate since 2012. The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee appears to back Mucarsel-Powell’s bid, even though she lost her House reelection race in 2020. Following her announcement in August, the DSCC said in a statement that “Rick Scott is highly vulnerable” and “Debbie Mucarsel-Powell would be a strong candidate to defeat him.”

Mucarsel-Powell’s husband owes up to $100,000 in student debt. Rather than pay it off, it appears he has stuck most of his earnings into real estate.

Where Robert Powell made his money is a matter of controversy. An attorney, Powell worked for firms owned by billionaire Ilhor Kolomoisky, a Ukrainian oligarch and one of the richest people in the country.

The Daily Beast reported that Powell made nearly $700,000 in just two years working for Kolomoisky’s firms. The business relationship drew concern from “longtime Ukraine watchers,” the outlet reported.

Anders Aslund, a senior fellow at the Atlantic Council, told The Daily Beast that Kolomoisky’s alleged connections to “billion-dollar criminal schemes and contract killings” made Powell’s work with him “highly suspicious.”

FDA’s Shocking Approval: Rexulti Fast-Tracked Despite Deadly Risks
    By BMJ
    OCTOBER 6, 2023

    https://scitechdaily.com/fdas-shocking-approval-rexulti-fast-tracked-despite-deadly-risks/

Investigation raises serious questions about the harm-benefit balance of Rexulti; the Decision may reverse efforts to reduce the use of antipsychotics in US care homes.

During testing, the antipsychotic medication brexpiprazole (Rexulti) did not demonstrate a significant therapeutic effect and was associated with a heightened mortality risk. Nonetheless, the the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has fast-tracked its approval, making Rexulti the first antipsychotic for treating agitation in elderly patients with dementia.

At a cost of around $1,400 a month Rexulti’s makers, Otsuka and Lundbeck, are forecasting an additional $1 billion in annual sales, but there are serious questions about the harm-benefit balance of this drug, writes investigative journalist Robert Whitaker in a recent paper published in The BMJ.

  9. “Elderly Woman Escapes Nursing Home, Rants About Deprogramming The Populace”
    POLITICS · Oct 6, 2023 · BabylonBee.com

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Viewers are perplexed by a CNN television interview featuring a deranged old lady who recently escaped from an elder care facility, angrily ranting about wanting to “deprogram” half of the nation’s population.

“They must comply! Deplorables! All of ‘em!” the disheveled geriatric growled at the camera while CNN’s Christiane Amanpour attempted to de-escalate the situation. “If they don’t fall in line, we’ll round them up and re-educate them! De-program them! Re-program them! If that doesn’t work, then we’ll just disappear them! Yes! Yeeeeeeessssssss! Ahahahahahahaha!”

The CNN interview team did their best to remain calm, despite the obvious threat posed by the tottering, decrepit woman. “She may be old and frail, but you can tell she’s serious,” said one member of the television crew. “We heard she escaped from a nursing home nearby, but you could tell she’s terrorized people in the past. Chilling, dangerous stuff. Or maybe she’s just completely insane, who knows.”

The woman was later restrained by security, sedated by men in white scrubs, and thrown into the back of a waiting van to be returned to the confines of her nursing home. A spokesperson for the facility later made a statement to the press regarding the incident. “Sadly, this has become an ongoing problem with this particular patient,” said Eduardo Guerrero. “She goes off her rocker a lot. She even has this crazy notion that she’s actually the President of the United States, which we know full well never happened.”

At publishing time, CNN advised everyone in the country to be on the lookout, as the crazy woman was believed to making the rounds for more TV interviews.”

  10. “Biden Approves Continuation Of Border Wall After Getting 10% Kickback From Construction Company”
    POLITICS · Oct 6, 2023 · BabylonBee.com

U.S. — President Biden restarted construction on Trump’s border wall Thursday after his son inked out a deal to secure a 10% kickback from the construction company.

“Hunter is the smartest guy I know,” said Biden. “I’d like to see Trump get a 10% rebate on anything, Jack.”

A reporter was reportedly expelled from the White House Press Corps after pointing out that the rebate constituted a bribe. “Sir, it’s not a rebate. They upped the price by 10% and then gave you the difference so they wouldn’t lose money on the deal. Why are you openly accepting kickbacks?”

The president fell down a flight of stairs before he could answer the bold accusation.

The Biden-era sections of the border wall are allegedly made out of a weaker material than Trump-era sections and will even feature revolving doors in some areas.

Conservatives have been critical of the president’s border wall additions. “Why are we wasting money on an intentionally ineffective border wall when we could be sending the money straight to Ukraine?” asked Sen Lindsey Graham. “The president gets 10% back either way.”

  11. Sis called me – she is driving at the moment and can’t look it up on her phone – and asked me to look up the benefits of Oregano Oil. I’d never heard about it and wow! It’s got a TON of healthy benefits! She is always getting bladder infections and, due to all her past surgeries, she can’t feel the pain; for the same reason, she is unable to use the proper method of wiping, front-to-back. So, of course, she always has a bladder infection, w/no way of knowing until it starts wearing her down and she visits the doctor – this time it had moved into her kidneys. I had suggested she get some type of test strip to test her urine regularly so she can catch it before it gets too bad. Considering the following info, she is going to visit the local health food store and pick up some of the oil.

EXCERPT: “Oregano essential oil is made by air-drying the leaves and shoots of the plant. Once they’re dried, people extract the oil and concentrate it by steam distillation. You can mix oregano essential oil with a carrier oil and apply it topically. However, you should not consume it orally as is.

Oregano oil extract, on the other hand, can be produced via several extraction methods using compounds like carbon dioxide or alcohol. It’s widely available as a supplement and can often be found in pill or capsule form (1Trusted Source).

Oregano contains compounds called phenols, terpenes, and terpenoids. They have powerful antioxidant properties and are responsible for their fragrance:

    — Carvacrol. The most abundant phenol in oregano, it has been shown to stop the growth of several different types of bacteria.

    — Thymol. This natural antifungal can also support the immune system and protect against toxins.

    — Rosmarinic acid. This powerful antioxidant helps protect against damage caused by free radicals.
These compounds are thought to underlie oregano’s many health benefits.

Here are 9 potential benefits and uses of oregano oil….”

  12. Speaking of deer encounters….

“Bicyclist and parrot companion struck by wild animal on moonlit ride”

“KEARNEY, Neb. — One local man says he and his parrot companion were in for a somewhat unbelievable accident over the weekend. During a moonlit bike ride, he had a run-in with a wild animal. “Up til yesterday my eye was swelled shut, it’s open now. I’m having trouble with my knee,” Jeff Morgan said.

Morgan says the encounter left him with an ER bill, a damaged bike and a new respect for Mother Nature. “It almost sailed right into me. It was on a dead full run I think because it must have jumped and it literally landed right into me,” Morgan said “There wasn’t any reaction time; I think I saw a flash of brown, maybe, I’m not even sure of that and the next thing I know, I’m waking up.”

Waking up to Lucy his pet parrot, pecking at him. “I yelled for help, at least four to six times and no one answered. I saw no flashlights. I said to Lucy I said well ‘if we’re going to get ourselves out of this then I guess it’s up to me’,” Jeff Morgan said. So, he got up and walked to the nearest campsite where he was able to catch a ride home, eventually, making it to the ER for treatment. “I’m on blood thinners, so I needed to be checked out. They were worried about me having a brain bleed or something,” Jeff Morgan said.

Morgan takes night rides with his birds on the luggage rack all the time, in fact, he was biking the night before the encounter, when he says he got a warning from nature, that he should have listened to. “Hindsight being 20/20, I did miss the butt end of a deer by about three feet,” Jeff Morgan said.

That’s right, Morgan thinks it was a deer that smashed into him and Lucy. “It’s like being struck by lightning, what are the chances of that,” Jeff Morgan said. Slim chances or not, he wants others to know about it. “They’re out there walking around feeding, that’s their time of the day to be out and active, so be careful,” Jeff Morgan said.”

    JD RUCKER
    OCT 7, 2023

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “The massive surprise attacks by Hamas terrorists on the nation of Israel have prompted responses from across the board. Well, almost across the board. The White House and Joe Biden himself have started the day completely silent on the issue. President Donald Trump released a statement:

‘These Hamas attacks are a disgrace and Israel has every right to defend itself with overwhelming force. Sadly, American taxpayer dollars helped fund these attacks, which many reports are saying came from the Biden Administration. We brought so much peace to the Middle East through the Abraham Accords, only to see Biden whittle it away at a far more rapid pace than anyone thought possible. Here we go again.’

This is not like any of the attacks in the recent past against Israel. This is huge. It was well planned and timed to fall on a holy day. And it’s not going to end well for anyone. Where is the leadership from the regime during this moment of geopolitical crisis?”

        1. In 1993, HB and I rented a portion of the basement of a house in Broad Run, VA on a horse farm. It was a huge house that was heated entirely with a wood stove. We had 2 BRs and 1 BR for the two of us; we had my wolfdog, Spirit, in a kennel down by the barn and the cocker spaniel, Precious, inside – that was when she bit the owner, Ray’s, 6 year old son out of the blue and I had her put down.

We also had my Z and HB’s gelding – Ray didn’t have any horses at the time. He was a computer consultant with his own small plane and was gone for days at a time and it was up to me to keep the stove going. I was driving back and forth to Arlington to work every day at the banking firm, AMRESCO (Asset Management Resolution Company). They re-packaged distressed properties, mostly hotels and marinas, for re-sale.

It wasn’t a big deal for me except I learned a valuable lesson: don’t let the bed of coals get too high or let it get too hot – at one point, I happened to look up to the ceiling where the heating pipe went into the first floor and it was glowing red! Needless to say, I hit the panic button that day! Thankfully, Ray was nearby and pulled the garden hose up on the roof to cool that bad boy down! LOL – lesson learned!

  17. what a bunch of BULLSHIT! piglosi NEVER would have agreed to bipartisanship control of the house…she ruled with an iron gavel. now that the repubs have the majority, they want a say in ruling.
    entire article
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) made the case on Oct. 6 for why there should be a governing coalition in the House of Representatives.
In a Washington Post opinion piece, Mr. Jeffries called for bipartisanship in the aftermath of Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) being ousted on Oct. 3 as speaker.

Mr. McCarthy was stripped of the gavel for the first time through a motion to vacate filed by Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.). In order to win the 15-round speaker’s race in January, Mr. McCarthy made numerous concessions to the hard line conservative Freedom Caucus—which includes Mr. Gaetz—that included lowering the threshold of filing a motion to vacate the chair to just one House member.

“Regrettably, at every turn, House Republicans have categorically rejected making changes to the rules designed to accomplish two objectives: encourage bipartisan governance and undermine the ability of extremists to hold Congress hostage,” wrote Mr. Jeffries in his piece.

Mr. Jeffries called for the House rules to be changed to stop the hardline conservatives in the House GOP caucus from dictating the lower congressional chamber.

“The details would be subject to negotiation, though the principles are no secret: The House should be restructured to promote governance by consensus and facilitate up-or-down votes on bills that have strong bipartisan support,” he wrote.

“Under the current procedural landscape, a small handful of extreme members on the Rules Committee or in the House Republican conference can prevent common-sense legislation from ever seeing the light of day,” continued Mr. Jeffries. “That must change—perhaps in a manner consistent with bipartisan recommendations from the House Select Committee on the Modernization of Congress.”

In an Oct. 5 letter to House Democrats, House Minority Whip Katherine Clark announced the Democratic caucus will convene for an organizational meeting on Oct. 10 to nominate Mr. Jeffries for speaker.

“The Republican Conference may hold their internal election as early as Wednesday morning. At the conclusion of the Republican Conference nomination election, the full House will conduct an election for Speaker by manual roll call vote,” she continued.

“We do not yet have exact timing for when this vote will start and may have short notice. Your attendance beginning Tuesday evening is vital to ensure that House Democrats are ready to vote for leader Jeffries as soon as the election for Speaker begins.”

Most plants are in the basement in kiddie pools.
Kitchen dinning area also tons of plants.
Only a handful more to bring into the garage.
