Imagine driving down the highway and seeing what looks like a baby’s butt on a pedestal? LOL. This article from NPR details The Peachoid, a water tower in South Carolina.
You can’t miss it as you drive down I-85. The Peachoid, as it’s called, is a massive peach-shape water tower near the North Carolina border.
When maintenance crews sandblasted the paint off the water tower recently, people were furious.
Just ask Claire Huminski, with the city of Gaffney.
“We have actually had a lot of people call and via social media complain to us that we are taking down the Peachoid and that we do not need to do that because it is a landmark,” Huminski says, “and they were really upset, tweeting angry tweets at me, I’m like, ‘We’re not taking it down, I promise!’ “
In Gaffney, the Peachoid is more than a water tower.

The city’s tourism director says she’s talked to people from Canada, Germany and Japan, who stopped through this city of almost 13,000 people just to see it.
Some of them first saw it on the Netflix hit House of Cards.
In real life, the tower has never had a thorough repainting since the original job was finished in 1981. So, Eric Henn climbs into a construction lift with a heavy steel door.
Henn rises more than 100 feet with paint rollers and a few shades of orange and yellow.
The longtime publisher of the local paper, Cody Sossamon, says the idea was to create a landmark for an area with a large peach farming community.
“I loved it and still do even though it’s, to use the term loosely, the butt of a lot of jokes,” he says.
For one, the tower has the colors — and curves — of an actual peach. Looking up at it, Gaffney native Leonard Wyatt says the crease is hard to miss.
“When you see the crack right here,” Wyatt says, “going down the interstate, you’ll see that’s one of the first things you’ll see, and people say it’s a baby’s butt with a rash.”
House of Cards played up that idea. Kevin Spacey’s character, Frank Underwood, is the subject of an attack ad about the Peachoid: “It’s vulgar. It’s an embarrassment to the county. But time and time again Frank Underwood has fought to keep it standing.”

That episode is the reason James Burroughs pulled over on his way from Atlanta to Raleigh.
“I decided to take a picture today so I can show some of my friends that yeah, see, the big peach does exist,” he says.
Burroughs says his friends in Georgia — the Peach State — wonder why it’s here. South Carolina actually produces almost twice as many peaches as Georgia, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Some have asked if the renovation will make the Peachoid look less like a human backside.
The answer is no, says Kim Fortner of the Gaffney Board of Public Works.
“You know it’s kind of like, I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase, ‘I don’t care what you call me as long as you call me?’ ” Fortner says. A lot of people know where Gaffney is by this tank.”
Even if it is, on occasion, the butt of a joke.

Matt Gaetz threatens to force vote on Biden impeachment — and oust McCarthy if he gets in way
Gaetz (R-Fla.) expressed frustration with the slow pace of GOP-led efforts to impeach the 80-year-old president and members of his administration during an interview with conservative radio host Todd Starnes.
The congressman also vented about the lack of interest lawmakers have in using a “toolkit” of rules and procedures that he and other Republicans negotiated with McCarthy (R-Calif.) as part of a deal to secure his speakership in January.
“I have traveled the country and spoken to so many Americans. They’re disillusioned with House Republicans right now. They think that we have not put up a substantial battle to defeat the worst elements of this Biden administration,” Gaetz said during the interview.
“I worked very hard in January to develop a toolkit for us to be able to reorient the House of Representatives in a productive and positive way. I don’t believe we’ve used those tools as effectively as we should have,” he added.
“When we get back to Washington in the coming weeks, we have got to seize the initiative,” Gaetz argued. “That means forcing votes on impeachment. And if Kevin McCarthy stands in our way, he may not have the job long. So let’s hope that he works with us, not against us, but we’ve got contingency plans in the event that he’s not as productive.”
“What are House Republicans even doing as Democrats WEAPONIZE our government against Americans?” Gaetz tweeted Tuesday.
“Tens of millions of Americans rest their hope on the House of Representatives to stop the terrible things that are going on. However, I offer you this sincere confession: we aren’t putting up the fight you deserve and it sickens me. There is plenty that needs to be done. We in the Majority have the power to do it, but we must stop fiddling around like Nero as Rome burns,” he added.

The highly partisan January 6th Committee of political Hacks and Thugs has been found to have DELETED & DESTROYED all evidence and findings of the recently ended Committee of TRUMP persecution and hatred. This is a highly illegal act to, among other things, protect Crazy Nancy Pelosi for her grossly incompetent, or intentional, actions regarding her weak and inadequate response to security measures taken at the Capitol, for which she was responsible. This evidence is now criminally destroyed!

How the Democrats turn out their base…
1- Illegals flood blue cities straining resources
2- illegals are give work permits so that “they can start paying taxes and ease the strain on city budgets”
3- Dems insist that the illegal aliens need to have a driver’s license so they can work and contribute to society
4- most if not all of the Illegal aliens don’t check the box on thier driver’s license application that states that they are not eligible to vote and are “accidentally” registered to vote under the motor voter law
5 – All registered voters are sent a vote by mail application which democrat “Ballot Harvesters” promptly buy up from the illegals.
6- massive number of illegitimate mail in ballots are then returned by Democrat Ballot harvesters on election day swinging the election to the Democrat candidates.
7- shut down all calls for an investigation by the losing Republican candidate and party by labeling them as racist

all that trash left behind and there was one person’s comment to that who was there…
FTA
I will concede to one point: there is an existential threat to the inalienable rights endowed to all of humanity, and that is leftism, which is perfectly summed up by someone in the comments, coming to the defense of the attendees who had no choice but to leave their garbage and debris scattered across the green lawns of the park when they vacated. X user Ava Garden Wilder with the Pride flag and “She/Her” in her profile said:
Solution: PROVIDE SEVERAL LARGE BINS FOR THE CROWDS!! I always see ‘look how people left a mess’ and there’s always one thing in common, NO TRASH BINS! They do provide small ones that over flow very quickly. But that’s not good enough with large crowds.
What else were these festival-goers supposed to do? Haul out everything they brought in?
With leftists, there’s no sense of personal responsibility, because it’s always somebody else’s fault. It’s the baby’s fault for the inconvenience of an unplanned pregnancy, not the parents who engaged in casual sex; it’s the “institutionalized racism” of American values that prevents inner city children from learning to read or write, not the policies of Democrats that forbid school choice, turn traditional education into queer indoctrination, and introduce “equitable” grading standards to allow certain children to pass even when they cheat and fail assignments; and of course, it’s the Leeds Festival organizers’ fault for failing to provide adequate dumping facilities, not the scum bum consumers who generated the trash.

I have to say I agree with her, particularly if they had to pay to attend. She’s right – there should have been dumpsters around the perimeter. They always had dumpsters near the entrance/exits at Bull Run – actually, every concert/rodeo/event I ever attended – and brought around large black trash bags towards the end of the concert. People filled them with all their trash, then either left them on the ground to be picked up or carried them to the dumpsters themselves. Sorry, but that should be a given at any large event.

if this is a Texas tax attorney how does he have standing to file challenges in other states?

Errrgh. Merry-go-rounds of 14th-Amendment challenges?
Matt Vespa (Townhall) is reporting that Texas tax attorney John Anthony Castro is
. . . filing challenges to Trump’s candidacy in Wyoming, Utah, Oklahoma, North Carolina, West Virginia, Montana, Kansas and Idaho. Of these states, analysts only view North Carolina as being competitive in the 2024 election, but Trump not having access to any of these ballots would complicate his path to winning the Electoral College.

Great minds! Just posted this @ M’s!
“Supreme Court to Decide Whether to Kick Trump Off Ballot
The legal debate about whether or not former President Donald Trump should be allowed to appear on the 2024 ballot has made its way before the Supreme Court. The court distributed John Castro v. Donald Trump to the justices for conference on Wednesday ahead of the upcoming term, which will begin on October 2. Conference is to take place on September 26 and the case is expected to be decided on or before October 9.
Castro, a tax attorney running for the Republican nomination next year, sent his petition to the Supreme Court last month, asking the justices to answer whether political candidates can challenge the eligibility of another candidate of the same party running for the same nomination “based on a political competitive injury in the form a diminution of votes.”
The lawsuit is seeking to argue that Trump should not be allowed to run for the White House based on section three of the 14th Amendment, which disqualifies individuals from holding public office if they have “engaged in insurrection or rebellion” against the United States. While Trump has not been charged with insurrection, Castro is pointing to Trump’s role in the January 6 Capitol riot. — Newsweek
———–
Other efforts to challenge Trump’s candidacy using the 14th Amendment have been unsuccessful. The case brought by tax attorney Lawrence Caplan in Florida was dismissed after the judge ruled that the lawsuit lacked standing and noted that the “injuries alleged” were not “particular” to the plaintiffs.
“An individual citizen does not have standing to challenge whether another individual’s qualified to hold public office,” Judge Robin Rosenberg wrote.
Castro, however, argues that his case would have enough standing because he is directly impacted by Trump’s name being on the ballot since he is also running for the Republican nomination…..”

The only reason DOJ then Jack Smith conducted classified docs investigation in DC rather than proper venue of FLA was to get favorable rulings by Obama Judge Beryl Howell–which they did.
Not a single defendant lived in DC. Not a single crime alleged to have happened in DC.
Dates of alleged crimes in 1st indictment all come after Trump left Washington.
Which is why, at the last minute, Smith realized he had a jurisdiction problem. So he took all the evidence collected by Dem grand jury in Obama-appointee run DC courthouse and reportedly read summaries of the grand jury proceedings to a FLA grand jury to get the indictment.
Does that sound legit? No. If Smith was properly using the grand jury in DC, why not indict there?
Is it possible a GJ and judge in FLA would have approved a warrant to seize months of security footage from inside the home of a former president to see who moved some f*cking boxes?
Maybe.
Was it a layup in DC courthouse? Absolutely. Image
This is a straight-up lie by Jack Smith. Not a single crime except for another bogus claim of “obstruction” related to testimony to DC grand jury was committed in DC.
And you’ll note that 10 days after Judge Cannon busted Smith’s use of DC grand jury, he shut it down. Image
Don’t take my word for it. Here is Merrick Garland’s appointment order.
He clearly differentiates between the two existing investigations. One in DC and one in Florida.
Except nothing was happening in FLA until dirty Jack Smith switched venues right before indictment.
Recall that getting DC chief judge Beryl Howell to take the rare step of piercing atty-client priv between Trump and his lawyer, Evan Corcoran, proved the lynchpin to this otherwise nonexistent case. Again, why DOJ conducted all proceedings in Trump-hating DC.
We’ll see, pal.

New York City’s Lucrative No-Bid Migrant Services Contract Is RejectedBrad Lander, the New York City comptroller, refused to approve the $432 million contract, questioning the qualifications of DocGo, the medical services company awarded the contract.
The comptroller, Brad Lander, cited a slew of defects with the contract awarded to the provider, DocGo, questioning why the administration of Mayor Eric Adams chose a firm to care for migrants that had no experience doing so. Mr. Lander noted that the city had failed to provide any “meaningful detail” regarding how it concluded that DocGo should be authorized to bill the city for hundreds of millions of dollars.
Mr. Lander said DocGo’s lack of expertise in providing a range of services, including social work, housing and busing migrants to motels far north and west of the city, reflected a lack of basic vetting by the agency, which hired the company under emergency procedures negating typical competitive bidding requirements.

Illegal aliens are gold. 🙂
Mr. Lander also took aim at DocGo’s chief executive officer, Anthony Capone, for saying during an interview at an August investor conference — as first reported by the Albany Times Union — that the company had pursued the $432 million city contract largely to give it enough credibility to bid on a $4 billion contract with the U.S. Border Patrol.
In the same interview, Mr. Capone also predicted that ongoing gridlock in Washington would help ensure steady revenue for migrant services providers like DocGo — a posture that “suggests that the company has little incentive to assist the asylum seekers in its care to obtain legal services and work authorization that would enable them to leave shelter,” the comptroller said.

“After Third Infection, COVID Desperately Seeks Vaccine Against Whoopi Goldberg”

HEALTH · Sep 6, 2023 · BabylonBee.com
NEW YORK, NY — Now entering its third encounter with Whoopi Goldberg, the COVID virus has begun desperately searching for a vaccine against the talk show host.
“I’m begging,” said SARS-CoV-2. “I don’t care if the vaccine makes me grow an extra spike protein. I can’t do this any more.”
According to sources, the COVID virus initially brushed off talk of vaccination against Ms. Goldberg, not believing her to be a genuine hazard to a young, healthy virus. “I admit, I didn’t take Whoopi infections seriously,” said the COVID virus. “I thought she was only dangerous to the weak and vulnerable. I have discovered, to my own horror, that Whoopi can cause immense suffering to anyone she comes in contact with. After three bouts with her, I will do anything – ANYTHING – to make it stop.”
Despite pleas from the virus, pharmaceutical companies report little headway in developing a vaccine against Ms. Goldberg. “We’re at a loss,” said Pfizer CEO John Reginald. “Modern medicine is, as yet, no match for Ms. Goldberg. The best strategy is avoidance.”
At publishing time, the COVID virus was reportedly heard wishing aloud that it had never been created in a test tube in Wuhan.”

Well, I took a firm count of the melons and there are 9 good sized ones; I saw at least 3 small ones starting – guess I’ll find out what the cool weather does. While I was over there, I noticed a literal cacophony of birds going off in the brush pile that’s over 5′ tall, and Bluebirds screeching from the 2 trees about 15 feet away; then I saw a flurry of birds fighting in the blue spruce – it seemed like the Bluebirds were chasing the smaller ones. I could hear a bunch of birds singing in the brush pile and, when I looked closely, I could see a HUGE flock of finches and sparrows deep inside the brush. No doubt they have nests in pockets inside the pile. A couple of tall weeds and a shit-ton of Texas stickers caught my eye so I walked over to pull some and the entire flock took off in waves – 100’s of birds! It stayed really cool here all day, w/no sun until a couple of hours ago, and only now hit 80. It’s clear there’s smoke in the air, tho.

Republican Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr has indicted dozens of people on racketeering charges over years of riots and protests in opposition to the Atlanta Public Safety Training Center, which is under construction.
“Cop City,” as the facility has been called by left-wing activists, has been targeted since it was announced by organized protesters.
In an indictment that was announced on Tuesday, Carr called those who have been targeting the facility “militant anarchists,” the Associated Press reported.
The indictment, which is dated Aug. 29, uses Georgia’s anti-racketeering or RICO law and targets 61 people.
This is the same statute Fulton County prosecutor Fani Willis has used to charge former President Donald Trump and 18 other people for questionable alleged crimes related to the challenging of the state’s 2020 election results.
Carr’s indictment could be viewed as a sign the state’s Republican Party is fighting fire with fire.
The AG has accused all of the defendants of conspiring to obstruct the construction of the police and fire training center, accusing them of violence, intimidation and destruction of property.
In July, a police cruiser near the facility was targeted by an arsonist.
Other fires were set in March when the facility was targeted by masked protestors but the effort to prevent it from being completed started in 2021.
Carr cited the instances of violence and intimidation as his rationale for going after the individuals he said were behind it.
Defendants include more than three dozen people who have previously been charged with domestic terrorism and other acts in connection to the violent protests and riots at or near the training center.
Three leaders of the movement against it are also accused of money laundering.
The RICO charges could result in those who have already been charged facing heavy sentences if they are convicted.
Carr signaled earlier this year on social media he was willing to use the full power of the law to keep order in the state.
He shared a Fox News report about some of the “Cop City” rioting and commented, “We are not Oregon. We are not California. We are not Washington. You cannot come to our state, break our laws, throw rocks at buildings, damage property, and shoot police officers.”
He concluded, “You can and you will be charged, and that’s exactly what we’re doing.”
We are not Oregon. We are not California. We are not Washington.

— GA AG Chris Carr (@Georgia_AG) January 24, 2023
Republican Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp issued a statement to the AP in support of inciting the alleged rioters.
“My top priority is and always will be keeping Georgians safe, especially against out-of-state radicals that threaten the safety of our citizens and law enforcement,” Kemp said.
The group behind the violence, the Cop City Vote coalition, said in its own statement that Carr was violating the civil rights of protestors.
“Chris Carr may try to use his prosecutors and power to build his gubernatorial campaign and silence free speech, but his threats will not silence our commitment to standing up for our future, our community, and our city,” the group said.
