If you’re thinking this post is an article about the former…cough, cough, First Lady, you’re wrong!

Years ago, when hubby and I first moved to this area, one of our favorite things to do was explore the region on our Harley. On one particular trip, after an extremely wet spring, we came upon a state park with an enormous waterfall. It was breathtaking and sooo close to the road. We took a bunch of pictures, but much to our chagrin, once home we realized we failed to take notice of the park’s name.
The following summer we tried to replicate the trip to find that waterfall and state park again, but to no avail. We had a general idea, but none of the parks we went to were quite right and none in the area had any waterfalls. Finally, we spotted a group of bikers on the road ahead and decided to follow them for a bit. They turned up ahead onto a road with a covered bridge and we followed.

As soon as we crossed the bridge, we saw they turned into this little hole in wall place called Big Mike’s. It looked like someone bought a nice house next to the river and turned it into a general store and restaurant.

The walls in the restaurant were filled with Philadelphia sports memorabilia highlighting the Eagles football team. There were pictures and jerseys in frames everywhere. As we walked through, a large, bearded man approached us and introduced himself as Big Mike. We told him we were big Eagles fans and how we never missed them when they practiced at Lehigh University. He told us he and his family moved from Philadelphia because it was just too dangerous anymore. But once they moved to this area, he discovered what we had also discovered—a shortage of decent places serving good steak sandwiches. He decided to bring a bit of Philly north and opened his own steak sandwich and hoagie place.

After we ordered and enjoyed the best steak sandwiches out of the Lehigh Valley, Big Mike came over to our table. He asked how our food was, and after accepting our genuine praise, he said the secret is the rolls! He contracted with a Philly bakery to deliver the delicious rolls twice a week. He pays a little more, but the restaurant reviews revealed it to be a genius move!

Before we left, we asked Big Mike about the waterfall and the state park. He said the only one close to the restaurant was World’s End State Park and the waterfall was actually the little creek after the flooding from a rainy spring. We’ve been back many times, but the “waterfall” was never there again.
Morning All!
I do need to revise the name of the park. I always mistakenly call it End of the World…it’s actually World’s End State Park.
hubby told me late yesterday that there’s flooding on the highway in NY where we have to travel tomorrow for his test. weird, weird weather lately

Morning, Pat! What a delightful read!!! Those pics!!!! Too funny! So Dale Jr. likes steak sammies, too? Good show! That’s what is soooo wonderful about road trips – finding off-the-map special places like that! I’m known for getting a wild hair up my ass and taking some strange route in and around other better known places just to see what I could find. “I wonder where this goes….??? I wonder if I can get there from here….???” LOL
Really cool this morning – 58 – and some haze in the distance, gray skies to the west, getting more humid again. Temps up to 100+ this week-end, too, but supposedly the humidity won’t be as bad. Slight chance of showers here and there but mostly to the north. GT wasn’t around when I got up late at 7 but I put his food dish out; at 7:45, I checked and he had eaten and left again.
I just realized this morning – finally made the connection – between GA and SallyQ at The Village and one of my go-to sites for memes and such. He also lives in that area and has talked about the Village and the hurricane. Another case of it being a small world on the interwebs!

You should see me around here about keeping things balanced….pictures, curtains, the blinds on my patio doors – if they aren’t level, I will stand there and continuously pull one all the way to the bottom, then slowly…slowly….slowly raise it up to where it is level with the other door. My front drapes – the sheer must meet in the exact center, and the drapes are each pulled back the same distance from the center. And once I get things set in place…DO NOT MOVE IT!!! Well, of course, then my pragmatic side comes into play as well – the situation now allows me to give these things free rein, whereas I never could before, I guess. Trump was interviewed by Glann Beck yesterday.
https://www.theblaze.com/news/trump-tells-glenn-beck-the-american-people-see-through-democrats-efforts-to-lock-him-up
…Trump has been indicted for allegedly: falsifying business records; retaining classified national defense information; conspiring to defraud the U.S. and to violate civil rights; and for alleged false statements and racketeering, all amounting to 91 counts…
Beck pressed Trump on whether he would continue his campaign in prison.
Trump stressed, “I don’t think that’s ever happening. We have a great case. Every case is a scam,” then likened his four indictments to the Democrat-led Russian collusion hoax.
“Remember, I was dealing with Russia, Russia, Russia. Then, all of a sudden, … the Mueller report said there was no collusion, and everyone had a heart attack. And then they started on Ukraine, Ukraine, Ukraine,” said Trump. “These are bad people. These are sick people.”
Trump suggested that rather than a jail cell, his recent indictments have instead landed him ahead in the polls, noting the inverse relationship between the Washington establishment’s loathing for him and his popularity with the American public has been around since the day he came down the escalator on June 16, 2015.

https://www.mediaite.com/politics/you-have-no-choice-trump-tells-glenn-beck-he-will-absolutely-lock-people-up-if-returned-to-white-house/
“You said in 2016, you know, ‘lock her up.’ And then when you became president, you said, ‘We don’t do that in America.’ That’s just not the right thing to do. That’s what they’re doing. Do you regret not locking her up? And if you’re president again, will you lock people up?” Beck asked Trump.
“Well, I’ll give you an example. Uh, the answer is you have no choice because they’re doing it to us,” Trump replied, making clear he would.
“I always had such great respect for the office of the president and the presidency and but the office of the president. And I never hit Biden as hard as I could have. And then I heard he was trying to indict me and it was him that was doing it,” Trump continued…

llegal immigrant released by Biden kills child and injures 26 others in Ohio
The driver of a Honda Odyssey who forced a school bus carrying elementary school children off the road and down an embankment in Ohio, killing one child and injuring 26 others, was caught illegally crossing the southern border and then released into the country by President Joe Biden in 2022.
Hermanio Joseph of Haiti was charged with aggravated vehicular homicide yesterday in Clark County Municipal Court for the incident, which happened as the children were being bused to their first day of school.
Joseph was arrested while illegally crossing the southern border in August 2022, according to reports. Pursuant to Biden’s border policies, Joseph was not returned to Mexico, where he came from, or his native Haiti. Instead, he was given a “Notice to Appear” in immigration court and then released to go wherever he wanted in the United States.

Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) in 2004: “If someone were deliberately hacking these machines, you could steal millions of votes, and no one would know it…
We’ve documented a machine in this county that recorded 11,000 extra votes for Bush. In that county, there was counting Kerry votes for Bush…
These machines are hackable.
A dishonest employee of the vendor, or a dishonest employee of a local board of elections, or simply someone who knows electronics, and has a computer at home, could hack into these machines and put in secret instructions to disregard every 20th Democratic vote.
Or add 10% to the Kerry or Bush vote or whatever, and you might not even know it…
There was one county where on some local race or some referendum, they lost 4500 votes, the machine hiccuped, and 4500 people didn’t have the votes counted…
We have all these professors and these computer experts telling us that the encryption algorithms aren’t sufficient.
That the protections aren’t sufficient.
They are proprietary data, so they’re kept secret, so we don’t really know.”

Human Trafficker With Ties to ISIS Helped Smuggle Migrants Across the Mexican Border — Prompting FBI Investigation
A human trafficker with ties to ISIS helped smuggle migrants across the southern border, prompting an FBI investigation into over a dozen Uzbek nationals who came to the US requesting asylum.
The FBI is now working to “identify and assess” the aliens who entered the country with the help of the smuggler, according to a statement from National Security Council spokesman Adrienne Watson, which CNN obtained.
CNN reports that two US officials confirmed they are “scrutinizing a number of the migrants as possible criminal threats.”
“Though there is no evidence at this point to justify detaining anyone, the episode was so alarming that an urgent classified intelligence report was circulated to President Joe Biden’s top Cabinet officials in their morning briefing book,” the report explains. “For some counterterrorism officials, it shows that the US is deeply vulnerable to the possibility that terrorists could sneak across the southern border by hiding amid the surge of migrants entering the country in search of asylum.”

liberals seizing power in Wisconsin Supreme Court make up things as they go along because they are now in the majority–this is how they do it all over the country. the time for playing nice is over.
entire article
MADISON, Wis. — The conservative chief justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court on Monday told the new liberal majority in a scathing email that they had staged a “coup” and conducted an “illegal experiment” when they voted to weaken her powers and fire the director of state courts.
Chief Justice Annette Ziegler, in two emails obtained by The Associated Press, said that firing and hiring a new state court director was illegal and ordered interim state court director Audrey Skwierawski to stop signing orders without her knowledge or approval.
“You are making a mess of the judiciary, the court and the institution for years to come,” Ziegler wrote to her fellow justices and Skwierawski. “This must stop. … I have no confidence in the recent hostile takeover and the chaotic effect it has had on the court, staff, and the overall stable functioning of the courts.”
Liberals gained a 4-3 majority on Aug. 1 when Justice Janet Protasiewicz began her 10-year term after winning election in April. Conservatives had held the majority for 15 years prior to that. The emails are the latest sign of broiling tensions on the court since liberals took control.
In their first week in power, the liberal justices voted to fire the state court director, hire Skwierawski and create a committee to do much of the work that the chief justice had done, a move that significantly weakened Ziegler. She was elected by the conservative majority to a second two-year term as chief justice in May.
On Monday, Ziegler sent Skwierawski an email telling her to stop signing orders under her name.
“It has come to my attention that you have been signing my reserve judge orders without my knowledge or approval,” Ziegler wrote in the email. “You never asked me for permission. You do not have my permission. Stop. These orders are in my name. You have no lawful authority to sign them. If you have signed anything else under my name, please advise immediately.”
Skwierawski responded to Ziegler, in another email obtained by AP, saying she “vehemently” disagreed that her appointment was illegal. She also defended her action signing orders assigning reserve judges, saying state law clearly gives her that authority.
“I had the legal authority and responsibility as well as the moral obligation to sign the orders for reserve judges,” she told Ziegler.
Ziegler said in response to questions from AP that “in order to not create problems at the circuit court” she was reissuing the orders under her name. Ziegler said she was also sending a cover letter that she said Skwierawski would not allow staff to send.
Ziegler also sent a scathing email to all of the justices once again accusing liberals of acting illegally, causing harm to the court’s internal operations and public perception. Ziegler refused to schedule weekly meetings with what she called the “invented committee” created by the liberal justices.
“I am not willing to violate my oath or the constitution,” she wrote. “You know that this invented ‘committee’ is in violation of your oath, the constitution and longstanding court practice. It is illegitimate and unenforceable.”
A request for comment from the four-justice liberal majority, left with Supreme Court spokesperson Tom Sheehan, was not returned.
Ziegler also repeated her claim, made when Skwierawski was hired, that the meeting to fire her predecessor was illegal and that she cannot hold the position because she is an elected Milwaukee County circuit judge. Skwierawski is on a leave of absence to take the court director job.
“Judge Skwieraski has not stopped being a circuit court judge and there is absolutely no provision that allows her to take a leave (not resign) and be paid more money for a different position,” Ziegler wrote. “She cannot serve two positions at once. Her purported appointment as interim director of state courts raises serious concerns about this being a public trust violation.”
Ziegler said she would advertise nationally for a new director of state courts.
She also said the committee created by the liberal justices is unconstitutional.
“Again, I will not condone such lawless destruction of the constitution, the judiciary, or the court,” Ziegler wrote. “For 40 years, the role of the Chief Justice has been understood and respected. Your short term goals will cause long term, irreparable damage to the judiciary. What a historical disgrace.”

if I’m a parent and I need to provide immunization records to enroll my child in school and an illegal does not, I am SUING NY government right back ladies–that’s not equal protection under the law and endangers my kid!

The pair claimed that some districts have required parents to provide voter registration cards, while others required proof of residency less than 30 days old or repeated proofs of residency for families without a formal lease.
The officials also called out school districts threatening home visits for students who cannot prove their residency with a formal lease. “These discriminatory policies harm our most vulnerable students, who rely on our schools for a safe, nurturing environment where they can learn and thrive.”
According to the letter, public schools must immediately enroll illegal immigrant children and homeless children even if those students cannot prove their residency or provide their immunization records, school records, or other documents that are typically required for enrollment because all children, including illegal immigrants, between the ages of 5 and 21, are entitled to public education in the Empire State.

“German Court Sentences Judge for Ruling Against Government’s Mask Mandates — One World Government “justice.”

2ND SMARTEST GUY IN THE WORLD
AUG 30, 2023
by Bryan S. Jung
EXCERPT: “A German court has sentenced one of its own judges to prison for ruling against the government’s mask mandates. In 2021, Judge Christian Dettmar struck down a local government ordinance that required schoolchildren to wear masks in the German state of Thuringia. The case made headlines across Germany. Judge Dettmar is now set to lose his legal career and pension and receive a two-year suspended prison sentence for allegedly “perverting the law.”
During the pandemic-era lockdowns, the Thuringian state government ruled that all children were to wear masks while at school, stay a minimum distance from each other, and take virus tests. The judge ruled that masks shouldn’t be mandatory for children at two schools in Weimar, Thuringia, after the mother of two children, aged 8 and 14, complained that the masks were giving them insomnia, nausea, and headaches.
‘I Saw Danger in Delay’ — Judge Dettmar told the schools in Weimar that they could no longer enforce the order, as the mandates weren’t compatible with the welfare of the children involved. His decision immediately sparked outrage in the state government, which called for his punishment and removal. The judge’s ruling was overturned by the Higher Regional Court in Erfurt, following a complaint by the state’s education department, which forced students to once again wear masks in schools.
The district court in Erfurt stated that only an administrative court held the jurisdiction to make such a ruling and that Judge Dettmar’s decision didn’t fall under the scope of his court. “The good cause of protecting children, which they may have had in the back of their minds, does not justify the way,” the district court judge said in his ruling.
Judge Dettmar defended his decision on the matter, arguing that he had merely consulted certified university experts. “I still don’t know why I’m sitting here. I have three grown-up children myself. At that time, I was driven by the everyday life of the schoolchildren. I saw danger in delay. The reports I use come from experienced university professors,” he said.
The high court decision also led to Judge Dettmar’s suspension from the bench after a disciplinary hearing was conducted by the Judicial Service Court. State prosecutors then took action against the judge, charging him with “perverting the law” and ruling on a matter he had no authority over. According to German public broadcasting channel MDR, the court heard arguments from prosecutors that Judge Dettmar had made his ruling as a political statement against lockdowns, not out of genuine concern for the children involved.
He was also accused of deleting emails and files from his computers to cover up the reason for his ruling. A police raid on his home and his office, conducted only weeks after his ruling was overturned, seized his electronic devices, including his mobile phone, which contained private correspondence that allegedly revealed his bias against lockdown measures….”

“Family movies are dead: 2023 will see ZERO G-rated movies come to theaters”

Holly Ash · Aug 28, 2023 · NottheBee.com
ENTIRE ARTICLE: “If you’re a parent to young kids, you may have noticed this trend, but for many it’s slipped past the radar until now. The “G” rating for movies, meaning movies approved for kids of all ages, is essentially disappearing completely from the screen. In 2023, there will be ZERO G-rated movies appearing in theaters.
Here’s Axios’ short write-up on this phenomenon to give you a quick look at what is transpiring:
Movie studios do not have a care in the world for families, standards, or making movies that are friendly to all audiences. Tell me, why does this year’s Little Mermaid need to be PG when the original was an easy G-rating? Why does Paw Patrol 2 need to have sequences intense enough to merit a PG rating? Why is the G movie disappearing? Well, here’s one theory that makes sense:
We’re living in a perpetual 13-year-old boy’s world now. Family-friendly live-action films don’t exist anymore unless they’re remakes of classic cartoons, and today’s animated movies don’t have the same magic. Making kids movies for kids is a thing of the past.”

Have you got room for one of those small typing stands on wheels? Put your computer on that and just roll it out of the way….just a thought. I just got back in from watering and got a pleasant surprise. Odd, too, because I just said to myself yesterday “Wouldn’t it be cool if I walked out there and saw buds on the Rose of Sharon bush?” Sure enough – I went over to water it and it’s got buds for the first time ever!
These bushes have been an exercise in frustration from the git-go, starting 4-5 years ago, when I ordered 5 from an on-line site where I’d purchased before. They were on sale so I thought what the heck – they would make a nice hedge along my far NW fence line and they have 3 different colors of blooms on them. Well, 3 of the 5 never made it – they were bare root and I’d never done them before so it was probably my fault.
Any way, I contacted them and they sent me 5 more – I’ve got 2 remaining out of those 2 shipments. I planted one at the end of my patio to eventually block the light coming from the streetlight on the west. It is still only about 2′ tall and only gets a few new leaves every year. The other one, however, with all the rain we had this spring, I suppose, has shot up and bushed out really nice!!! And I’ll have blooms soon! Yeah!!!

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In the wake of Hurricane Idalia making landfall in Florida, President Joe Biden offered suffering victims in the Sunshine State comfort by telling them about the time he was in the bathroom and the urinal splashed back on him a little bit.
“I’ve been in the same situation, folks,” Biden said as he made remarks to the media regarding ongoing disaster relief efforts in Hawaii and Florida. “These hurricanes and storms flooding everything remind me of my own challenges. There was this one time, at a state dinner with the Pope, and I had to go see a man about a mule, so I go to the ladies’ room, but they kick me out, so I go to the men’s room, and I’m doing my thing there at the…at the…at the…the urinal…and it…and it…splashed back on me a little bit. My own urine. Can you believe that? Awful day. Anyway…”
Media outlets hailed the president’s story and how it relates to the plight Florida residents now face after having their homes and places of business flooded. “Such an inspirational tale,” said CNN’s Dana Bash. “For President Biden to show devastated Floridians that he’s been where they are and felt what they’re feeling…it’s awe-inspiring.”
At publishing time, White House insiders reported relief among the communications team that it’s likely many Florida residents were unable to hear the president’s comments due to widespread power outages and being preoccupied with trying to salvage whatever may be left of their lives and belongings.”

“FBI Seizes Jaiden’s Backpack In Predawn Raid”
U.S. · Aug 30, 2023 · BabylonBee.com
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — A quiet community was thrown into chaos in the early hours of Wednesday morning, as a tactical team from the Federal Bureau of Investigation staged a pre-dawn raid at the home of 6th-grader Jaiden Rodriguez. Reports indicated the boy’s backpack, which has a Gadsden flag patch, was seized in the raid.
“We have secured a highly dangerous item,” said FBI spokesperson Chad Rookstool. “There was an anonymous tip from a concerned citizen in the area who reported a young man at this residence was in possession of a backpack that posed a threat to democracy itself. That threat has now been neutralized.”
Controversy erupted on social media yesterday after it was learned Jaiden had been sent home from school for wearing his backpack, with faculty believing the Gadsden flag was a sign of Jaiden plotting a coup to overthrow the U.S. government. “Thank God it’s been addressed by the authorities,” said frightened schoolteacher Stephanie Dean. “That backpack was just out in public, threatening the lives of everyone who saw it. Democracy is once again safe.”
School officials advised Jaiden to find a new, less-threatening backpack before returning to school. “He can choose from Pride patches, BLM patches, even a sickle and hammer patch,” a member of the school’s administrative staff explained. “However, a backpack displaying an important image from American history has no business at an American school.”
At publishing time, Jaiden was reportedly prepared to return to class with his new, bright red “Make America Great Again” backpack.”
