Mother of Thousands

How To Care For Mother Of Thousands

Mother of Thousands (bryophyllum daigremontianum) is a beautiful and interesting house plant, and one of my favorites. If you have one of these plants in your home, you’ll want to know how to care for it, so it thrives for years to come.

Mother of Thousands should be planted in a well draining potting mix, watered infrequently but thoroughly, and kept in bright, indirect sunlight with low humidity at 65 to 75° F. The tiny plantlets that grow along the edges of the leaves will need to be managed as they try to take root wherever they happen to land.

What Is A Mother Of Thousands Plant?

Mother of Thousands is known by numerous other names – Mexican Hat Plant, Alligator Plant, and Devil’s Backbone. A native of Madagascar, the plant is a succulent that grows up from one stem. The large blue-green leaves are pointed and narrow and grow up to 6-inches long and 3-inches wide. The plant itself can grow as tall as 18 to 35-inches if you let it.

The most unique part of this plant is the tiny plantlets that grow along the edges of the leaves. These little plantlets will drop easily from the main plant, trying to take root wherever they land and find soil appropriate for growth.

For this reason, many gardeners think of the Mother of Thousands as a bit of a problem plant, with the little plantlets doing their best to grow and multiply in all types of soil alongside other plants.

You can easily see how the plant got its most common name – it’s the mother to thousands of other plants! When you’re growing Mother of Thousands indoors, you won’t have to worry too much about it propagating, although you may find that the little plantlets drop into any nearby plant pots where they can take root.

Mother Of Thousands Propagation

With all the little plantlets, your Mother of Thousands is an easy houseplant to propagate. The first thing to do is pick two or three of the plantlets from one of the leaves. If you’re not going to plant them right away, place the plantlets into a plastic bag or seal in plastic wrap. You want to keep them moist until you’re ready to use them.

Take a small terracotta pot and add cactus soil. Don’t worry about finding a deep or big pot – the roots of the plantlets will take some time to grow big enough for a large pot.

Put the plantlets directly onto the soil, making sure they’re at least a ½-inch apart. Spray the soil and the plantlets with water so they’re moist without being saturated. Then cover the pot with plastic wrap so that you’re creating your own little greenhouse.

Place the pot where it gets a lot of sun – then continue to keep the soil and plantlets moist, being careful not to overwater. If you give them too much water, they have a tendency to rot, making them unusable. Mother of Thousands doesn’t like a lot of humidity – this goes for the plantlets as well.

Keep an eye on the plantlets, watching as they start to grow. Adjust the plastic wrap so that it doesn’t crush the plants. You can place a toothpick in the soil and tent over the plastic wrap.

When they’re about an inch tall you can remove the plastic wrap, keeping them in the sun as they continue to grow. If you have a really green thumb, some of these new plants may flower for you, bursting with little pink/purple flowers.

When the plants are big enough you can separate them and plant them in their own pot. Keep in mind that the roots of these new plants are very tender and can be easily damaged. Make a wide cut into the soil when transplanting them to avoid making any cuts into the roots.

Does Mother Of Thousands Flower?

When grown indoors as a house plant, the Mother of Thousands rarely flowers. When grown outside and kept in the garden, Mother of Thousands will flower if the conditions are right. The flowers are pink and tubular in shape, hanging gently over the main stalk of the plant.

They only bloom on plants that are mature and then only in the late fall and early winter if the temperature isn’t too cold. After blooming the plant dies, leaving behind its many plantlets to start sprouting in its place.

Is The Mother Of Thousands Plant Poisonous?

Mother of Thousands is a poisonous plant. The leaves, stem, and tiny plantlets are all toxic and could be fatal to small children and pets. If you have children and pets, be sure to keep the plant well out of reach.

On Donald Trump’s Inevitable (and Peaceful) Revenge:

Those who’ve doubted the Devolution theory (h/t @patel_patriot
,) Continuity of Government and what effectively amounts to the Biden Admin being a Shadow Presidency … for us, are starting to come to a slow-blinking realization:

Trump now occupies a bigger slice of the Collective Mind than he EVER did as POTUS, and he’s done it all while taking a public ‘Slings and Arrows’ campaign that puts all others in American history to shame.

I often describe Trump’s first administration as a ‘defensive’ one in the context of American football; Patriots deferred the kick-off and spent 4 years redpilling the masses on two major Macros:

    1) That it WAS possible to turn the gargantuan ship that is the United States Republic around as if it were a nimble clipper, or as if Trump had a ‘magic wand,’ if only the right leadership were in place.

    2) That the Establishment, Deep State System of Systems would stop at NOTHING to make sure a true representative of the American people never gets through that high and mighty office with his (and OUR) mandate intact.

Along the way, Trump and Patriots baited a series of Narratives and Scandals into the ether; unless, of course, you’re one of those hopeless, angry fools who still believes everything from Russia Collusion, to foreign interference in US elections, to Quid Pro Quo in Ukraine, to Escalatory Relations (WWIII, anyone?) with world superpowers just so happen to be coming back around to bite the current ‘Admin’ in the exact order and persuasion in which they were weaponized against Trump.

Only this time, the Scandals and the Stories have Actual at the end of them. Actual in the form of Truth. Receipts. Documentary Evidence.

The ground the first Trump Admin paved wasn’t solely in the halls of our corrupt government, nor in court precedent, nor in the rise of the new, decentralized media, but rather in the Collective Mind itself, and now ALL those chickens are coming home to roost, and all those Narrative Seeds are beginning to germinate when the American people find themselves at a psychological breaking point under the tyranny of the very Establishment that promised them absolution from the one man who stood up for them, even when they turned their backs on him.

This time around, Trump is engaging in a silent-running campaign reminiscent of some of the earliest comms in the Q drops. This is the Shark Fin Template I often write about, in which Trump allows his Uniparty (read: GOP enemies) to expose themselves by appearing weak when he is … anything but.

    Because these aren’t Trump’s enemies … they’re ours.

Remember, it isn’t the enemy at the gates you have to fear the most: the Democrat Establishment, Media Industrial Complex and Cultural Marxists who openly deride you, loathe you and seek to subjugate you through intimidation and open Info War, sometimes verging on the kinetic.

It’s the enemies who’ve already slipped past the guards and under the timbers, on the edges of the torch light and wearing the skins of our neighbors we must fear the most.

This is the GOP Establishment. This is the Uniparty.

This is Con Inc., who would’ve ruled over the shell of a Twitter battlefield they were never banned from as long as their particular brand of nonconformity didn’t stretch the System beyond its bounds, and they are currently represented by Ron DeSantis and Vivek Ramaswamy, and those who push them from positions of privilege the MAGA movement built in the first place.

As Trump often says, they’re not after him. They’re after you. He’s just in the way.

Well, the Witch Hunt may be on Trump right now, but the Hunters have been revealed … even those who hid among us. Especially those.

All Assets have been Deployed … which means all the Vampires are in the sun.

Let’s keep them there awhile …

I’m surprised to find this article from the Marxist booster The Atlantic assessing the impact of media especially the New York Times (Walter Durante) in burying the story of this state created famine from the rest of the world. This ignorance continues to today making it easier for WEF to replicate the same anti-human course of action.

One decision that may have unknowingly helped it survive the wildfire — the deadliest in the US in more than a century — was replacing the asphalt roof with one made out of heavy-gauge metal, she told the LA paper.

She was told that during the fire, “there were pieces of wood — 6, 12 inches long — that were on fire and just almost floating through the air with the wind and everything,” she told the LA Times.

“They would hit people’s roofs, and if it was an asphalt roof, it would catch on fire. And otherwise, they would fall off the roof and then ignite the foliage around the house.”

  11. chynese are behind institute’s move to ban natural gas
    entire article
Colorado-based nonprofit Rocky Mountain Institute, which published the December study that attributes 13 percent of U.S. childhood asthma cases to gas-stove use, is hardly staffed by an objective group of scientists.

The organization is demanding “systemic change and economy-wide transformation” to address a climate crisis it says we must go to great lengths to avoid. In 2013, for example, the Rocky Mountain Institute joined forces with China’s National Development and Reform Commission—the government agency tasked with planning the communist nation’s economy—to produce a report that advised China to replace existing appliances and generators with “clean energy technologies.”

Beyond its public mission statement and work with the Chinese government, the Rocky Mountain Institute’s biases are reflected in its gas-stove study, academic leaders told the Free Beacon. The study—which spans just nine paragraphs—was based on a hodgepodge of different data and methodologies spanning various years and countries, ranging from 2019 U.S. Census data to conclusions from a 2018 analysis in Australia.

Structuring a study that way is questionable, according to Yale University professor of medicine Dr. Harvey Risch. Moreover, the conclusions of the institute’s study differs from what the organization is saying publicly.

“This paper does not do any research on possible association between residential natural gas use and risk of childhood asthma,” Risch told the Free Beacon. “It only calculates a percent of childhood asthma that could be attributable to residential natural gas use and risk of childhood asthma.” …

The study was also ethically dubious, according to Risch, as its authors stated they held no conflicts of interest despite working for climate change activist groups. The Rocky Mountain Institute’s board, for example, is filled with executives at green energy corporations with a financial interest in banning the use of fossil fuels.

Also included among those board members is Wei Ding, the founder and chairman of the Chinese private equity firm Broad River Capital. Ding started the firm after serving as chairman of the China International Capital Corporation (CICC), a partially state-owned investment bank. Former CICC executives include Chinese leader Xi Jinping’s vice president and right-hand man, Wang Qishan, while the corporation’s website highlights its “deep participation in China’s economic reforms and development” and goal to “serve the nation.” The Rocky Mountain Institute also sits on the China Clean Transportation Partnership, a Chinese green energy nonprofit …

Sen. J.D. Vance (R., Ohio), who last week called on the Consumer Product Safety Commission to renounce any potential gas-stove ban, said he is alarmed by the institute’s ties to the Chinese Communist Party. The natural gas industry, Vance said, “is critical to our national security,” and its demise would be a boost to our adversary.

  12. video at the link…guy cutting fence J6 is a suspected fed. he’s not even being sought by the fib…
    FTA
The significance of the fact that this individual was removing fencing before Trump’s speech was over, and thus before the crowd listening to Trump headed over to the Capitol, cannot be overstated. Ordinarily, the grounds surrounding the Capitol are not restricted, and it was only due to the fact that police erected barriers and fencing for January 6th that those entering the thereby designated restricted zone could be charged with “trespassing.”

By removing the barrier fencing before the massive crowds arrived at the Capitol, individuals like Fencecutterbulwark were effectively creating one of the nation’s largest legal booby traps in history, inviting thousands of people to unwittingly cross into the restricted zone whereupon they became vulnerable to indictments for “trespassing.” And this is not a theoretical booby trap either. Earlier this year we reported how the Department of Justice maneuvered its way from an initial trespassing charge to a felony conviction to punish Green Beret Jeremy Brown, whom the Justice Department wanted to get even with for exposing the government’s efforts to recruit him as an informant and potential provocateur prior to January 6th.

Read More: Biden Regime’s Seven-Year Prison Sentence for Green Beret Jan 6 Whistleblower Re-Opens Festering Wounds of Fedsurrection Lie

To reiterate, Fencecutterbulwark remains unindicted. In fact, the FBI does not even appear to even be looking for him. He is wholly absent from the FBI Capitol “Most Wanted List.” There is no reward for information leading to his arrest.

Despite the DOJ and FBI’s interest in this key player methodically cutting fencing demarcating the secured perimeter, online research communities have stayed on the case, compiling documentation of Fencecutterbulwark’s behavior.

  14. from American Thinker…the President sits at the TOP of the executive branch. Underlings or even congress CANNOT make rules to override his decisions.
    FTA
Trump is correct. He declassified the documents by taking the documents. That’s all he needed to do.

    Let me explain.

National security questions belong solely to the president. That’s not me saying that; that’s the Supreme Court saying that:

The President, after all, is the “Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States.” U.S.Const., Art. II, § 2. His authority to classify and control access to information bearing on national security and to determine whether an individual is sufficiently trustworthy to occupy a position in the Executive Branch that will give that person access to such information flows primarily from this constitutional investment of power in the President, and exists quite apart from any explicit congressional grant.

(See also this Supreme Court authority, along with this federal analysis.)

Given that the president is the big boss, his employee’s rules cannot constrain him. Likewise, because this authority belongs solely to the executive, Congress cannot limit it either.

The latter fact means that the Espionage Act of 1917 is irrelevant even though it is the basis for Jack Smith to assert that the documents Trump has are “vital to the defense of the security of the United States.” That’s not a decision for Jack Smith. That was a judgment call for the president of the United States—who happened to be Trump.

The same is true for the effort to control Trump under the Presidential Records Act and all the rules that the administrative state made up under the act—both the Act and the rules apply to everyone but the president. Thus, both Biden and Pence should be indicted for violating the Act when they were Vice Presidents.

Bottom line: It’s irrelevant what Meadows’s memories are. When Trump removed the documents, he declassified them. Petty rules from petty bureaucrats cannot constrain the president. Of course, just as King Kong broke free from the petty chains binding him didn’t mean that, eventually, the little minds surrounding him weren’t able to kill him.

Let me add that, if Trump’s attorneys aren’t making the plenary power argument…well, I’m at a loss as to why they’re not making that argument.

This is one interview I highly recommend that you watch – if not all of it, at least some – the first 25 minutes is a VERY knowledgeable and nuanced discussion about Ukraine/Russia, including getting into Victoria Nuland et al, where Zelensky came from and who bankrolled him, the financial issue here in the US, i.e., what people who have worked all their lives get in SS ($1400/mo if they’re lucky) vs. what they give to the Afghans (and other “immigrants” coming over the border) brought over here ($2200/mo) in perpetuity.

At about the 25 minute mark, he starts sounding almost like Trump! “….wars for 100’s of years…we can’t fix this…we shouldn’t be there…and I think Americans have figured that out but now, they’re beginning to look at the numbers and the figures and they’re saying “What happened to consent by the Governed??? Here’s a homemade recipe – we used to use something similar to keep horses from chewing at their leg wrappings, but much simpler than this one – we just mixed the cayenne pepper with liquid soap and painted it on the exterior of the wrappings – just had to make sure it didn’t touch the skin. Hmmm….maybe not, if it “…may affect the finish…” I guess it could damage the deck? In any case, there might be something else at this site:

The media wants you to believe that China is “experimenting” with digital IDs that are linked to bank accounts and impacted by social credit scores, but they’re already there. TikTok is one of the last platforms where users throughout the world can share personal news without censorship. In the video above, a Chinese woman is explaining how she “once again cannot buy food.”

Her story is one example of how the digital ID program will work. She attempted to buy a new phone linked to a Chinese bank account to bypass the digital ID, but since her cousin purchased the phone, she was unable to log on because the phone was flagged. China has been testing this system since 2018 and had a soft launch in March, when Chinese Premier Li Keqiang announced that 100 million citizens would be issued digital identification cards. As always, they market this as a mere convenience. “One policy from the government this year is to make ID cards electronic, so that relevant information can be accessed by a simple scan of the code on the cellphone,” he said.

We must wake up and realize that the global elite is implementing the Great Reset.

    1. Another thing I liked that Macgregor said – he believes people are finally waking up and a “come to Jesus” moment is coming – soon!

Hunter Biden investigation: Democratic donors and Biden allies found in David Weiss’s office

At least seven prosecutors who worked in the Delaware U.S. Attorney’s Office over the last several years of the Hunter Biden investigation appear to be Democratic donors, a Washington Examiner analysis found.

One of them appears to have a previously unreported personal relationship with the Biden family, at one point referring to Hunter Biden as a “good friend.”

LET’S SEE IF THEY FOLLOW THROUGH

House conservatives unveil list of demands to support spending bill and avoid shutdown

The House Freedom Caucus labeled its message as “No Security, No Funding.”

Among the demands from the House Freedom Caucus:

    * Spending levels below the top-line numbers that McCarthy had agreed to with President Joe Biden as part of a bill to increase the nation’s debt ceiling.

    * Inclusion of a bill that aims to build more wall at the southern border and restrict asylum for those seeking to remain in the U.S. for fear of persecution or harm.

    * Addressing what they call the “unprecedented weaponization of the Justice Department and FBI” to conduct political “witch hunts.”

    * And opposing any “blank check for Ukraine.” The White House has asked Congress to provide more than $13 billion in emergency defense aid and an additional $8 billion for humanitarian support as Ukraine defends itself from Russia’s invasion.

I know nothing about my son’s business

Primetime confirms that then-VP Joe Biden flew Hunter overseas on Air Force 2 at least eight times.

Primetime can now confirm that then-VP Joe Biden flew Hunter overseas on Air Force 2 at least eight times. These are trips we didn’t know about before, because Hunter avoided being caught on camera. But Primetime now has indisputable evidence that Hunter Biden was using Air Force… pic.twitter.com/uNUM5nrWiz

  21. ultra maggot’s respond to a Gold Star mom’s grief is typical and disgraceful
    FTA
A Gold Star mother whose son died during the chaotic Afghanistan withdrawal has revealed the heartless way President Joe Biden treated her when she paid him a visit at the White House.

In August 2021, during the botched withdrawal of American forces from Afghanistan, a suicide bomber blew himself up outside of Kabul Airport, killing 13 U.S. service members.

One of the victims was Army Staff Sgt. Ryan Christian Knauss, whose mother met Biden during an event for Gold Star families at the White House in 2022.

Paula Selph was hoping that the president would show some sympathy, take responsibility, and give her some closure, but Biden did absolutely none of that.

During the meeting, Selph began to weep while reflecting on the loss of her son. Biden sat there making no attempt to comfort her, she said, instead asking her if she wanted a photo with him.

The distraught mother said she responded that she would only like a picture if it was of the president standing next to her son’s tombstone at Arlington National Cemetary.

She said Biden replied, “I can’t do that because Secret Service won’t let me do that.”

Selph said that it was a “moral disgrace” for the president to not have any sympathy or show any mercy to the families of the soldiers under his command, especially since she held him accountable for the tragedy.

Selph has every right to be angry about this encounter. The purpose of this meeting was to honor her and her son’s sacrifice and give her some closure. Instead, the president made it all about him by turning the event into a photo op, seemingly unaware of the mother’s purpose for visiting him.

  22. primary this asshole please…Louisiana republican who voted for impeaching President Trump thinks he should bow out of the race because he couldn’t beat ultra maggot.
    FTA
“I’m a Republican. I think any Republican on that stage in Milwaukee will do a better job than Joe Biden. And so I want one of them to win,” Mr. Cassidy continued, referencing the first Republican National Convention (RNC) debate to be held in Milwaukee on Aug. 23.

Mr. Cassidy said he would vote for President Trump if he won the Republican nomination, because he believes any Republican is a better choice than President Biden.

However, Mr. Cassidy’s concern with President Trump has to do with actually beating President Biden.

“If former President Trump ends up getting the nomination but cannot win a general, that means we have four more years of policies which have led to very high inflation, to a loss of purchasing power for the average American equivalent to $10,000, and to many other things which I think have been deleterious to our country’s future.”
