Weird Wednesday

Welcome to The Munster Mansion!

“Most people didn’t get past the characters to notice the house,” says Sandra McKee, a lifelong Texan, former lingerie store owner, great-grandmother, and Waxahachie resident. McKee is talking about the home at 1313 Mockingbird Lane in the fictional city of Mockingbird Heights in the sixties TV show The Munsters. “But I loved the house,” she continues. “You could flow from any room without turning around and going back. The flow was wonderful.”

She loved it so much that she decided to recreate it. Twenty years ago, McKee and her husband, Charles, built a Victorian-style home in Waxahachie and designed it to look just like the Munsters’ house. The McKees lived there until a few years ago. Now they live next door and open the mansion for private tours as well as for monthly murder mystery dinner parties catered by the Olive Garden. It’s not just a tribute to the original but a nearly exact duplicate. The electric chair is there. The rotating suit of arms is there. The dishes laid out on the dining table are the real dishes the cast ate from on the show. Spot, the Munsters’ pet fire-breathing dragon, lives under the stairs: “We did a cardboard mock-up,” McKee recalls. “Shipped it off to a guy up north. He did the fiberglass and the mechanism to make the mouth open. We can’t do fire out the nose, of course, because you’d burn down the house, but we used to have fog coming out.” She adds, “On tours, a lot of people have breathing problems, so we don’t do fog anymore.” Even the candelabras and beaded-fringe lampshades and cheesecloth cobwebs look just like the originals.

“I watched all seventy episodes,” McKee says, reminiscing about the origins of her project. “We’d freeze-frame a wall. Figure out what goes on that wall. Lily Munster was five feet four. I’m five two. I could see how many steps it took her to get to the staircase or the stove. And that’s how we determined where things were. I don’t mind researching things. I spent a lot of time researching. A lot of time watching the show. Eventually I could say the words before they said the words.”

Waxahachie, a city of more than 35,000 residents about thirty miles south of Dallas, might be the best spot in Texas for a Munster Mansion. A town with an Old West feel—some scenes of Bonnie and Clyde were shot there—it also has a spooky side. Not only is it home to Screams Halloween Theme Park, it’s rumored to be haunted. Local Cajun restaurant Catfish Plantation advertises its cast of ghosts (ask the owner about the levitating fry basket). Unexplained turning door handles and tales of an elevator-riding girl ghost draw tourists to the Rogers Hotel. There’s also a popular historical ghost tour.

But the Munster Mansion is less spooky than simply extraordinary. There’s something so impressive, almost subversive, about giving one’s life to something that no one else has likely even conceived of, something that many people wouldn’t understand. For years, the Munster Mansion was simply the McKees’ house. They opened it for tours and charity events a couple times a year. They’d dress up like Lily and Herman and have the show’s cast members over for visits, but they didn’t build the house with the intention of making money. Sandra McKee just … loved The Munsters. And Charles went along for the ride. “If it were up to him, we’d be living in the Starship Enterprise,” she says. “But it was up to me, so here we are in the Munster House.”

Once she’s given me the grand tour, McKee shows me the memorabilia room, crammed with photos and figurines. “My favorite piece in here is this tuxedo,” she says, touching the formal suit with red bowtie. “When Grandpa Munster [the late actor Al Lewis] came to our charity event, the town next to us donated this tuxedo for him to wear for the weekend. Well, Grandpa burned it right here with his cigar—yeah, I’ve got his cigar, too—so I bought the tuxedo from him, didn’t have it dry-cleaned or anything. It’s got his DNA all over it.”

The Munsters, which aired for only two seasons, was produced by the creators of Leave It to Beaver, and like Beaver, it depicted suburban life, albeit satirically. The Munsters were monsters, but they were otherwise a traditional, loving sixties family. The McKees, too, are typical, if you don’t count the coffin phone built into their wall. Charles is a plumber. Sandra adores her family so much that she doesn’t give tours on Halloween because she likes to take the kids trick-or-treating. “I had six grandchildren grow up here,” she tells me. “I told them, don’t run your toys in the cobwebs.” She smiles. “We had a lot of love in this house.”

      1. Morning, Bill! I saw it here – huge and red – tried to take a pic but I don’t know enough about the camera to fix the setting so it would show up properly. On the night setting, all I got was a big, white ball on a black background! It was beautiful!

    1. Morning, Pat! A good bit warmer here – it was 75 and oppressively muggy when I got up, with clouds and almost no breeze whatsoever. Now it’s 74, still muggy, cloudy and no breeze. I expect rain will be making an appearance but most of the storms are supposed to go to the south, as usual – I can hear a bit of thunder in the distance. GT was waiting but he ate really fast today and not nearly as much – maybe he got a bunny last night! LOL

    This is important.

Stop and ask yourself if you support the likes of the Blackrock and Vanguard hedge funds, which are both wholly owned and operated subsidiaries of the globalist cabal?

Well, if the answer is ‘no’ but you’re still purchasing vitamins/supplements, household cleaning supplies, cosmetics, toothpaste, personal care, etc. from them then I hate to break it to you, YOU ARE.

Worse yet, by marching into their big box stores (e.g. Walmart & Target) to get these types of products without giving it a second thought, then you’re helping them enrich themselves while they poison you and your family.

Or you can simply redirect a fraction of the $$ you’re ALREADY SPENDING over to all-natural products made by America First companies who manufacture high-quality alternatives (and employ Americans) right here at home.

    This isn’t rocket science, folks.
    Consider making the switch.

Our Goal: Helping 10% of #MAGA switch will result in removing $30 billion a year from their pockets.

If you’re still confused about the Joe and Hunter Biden crime scheme, let me break it down for you in the simplest way possible:

Joe Biden was in charge of Ukrainian relations during his term as Vice President.

During Joe’s term, a Ukrainian prosecutor named Viktor Shokin was investigating corruption at an oil & gas company Burisma.

Burisma hired Joe’s son Hunter to their board and paid him $83k a month for access to his father, the Vice President.

Burisma begged Joe to help them stop Shokin’s investigation.

Joe bribed Burisma to pay $10 mil for his help.

Joe Biden then threatened to withhold a $1 billion loan from the US to Ukraine if the Ukrainian President Poroshenko didn’t fire the prosecutor.

    The prosecutor was fired.

Ukraine got $1 billion from the US.

The Biden’s got $10 million from Burisma.

    Hopefully that helps.

DOJ Leaks Names Five Co-Conspirators in Trump Indictment Including Three Lawyers to CNN – Another Leak by Biden’s DOJ!
“CNN named five co-conspirators that were leaked to them from the DOJ.
Trump’s co-conspirators, according to the indictment reviewed by The Gateway Pundit:”

Rudy Giuliani – Co-conspirator 1, an attorney who was willing to spread knowingly false claims and pursue strategies that the Defendant’s 2020 re-election campaign attorneys would not

John Eastman – Co-conspirator 2, an attorney who devised and attempted to implement a strategy to leverage the Vice President’s ceremonial role overseeing the certification proceeding to obstruct the certification of the presidential election.

Sidney Powell – Co-conspirator 3, an attorney whose unfounded claims of election fraud the Defendant privately acknowledged to others sounded “crazy.” Nonetheless, the Defendant embraced and publicly amplified Co-Conspirator 3’s disinformation

Jeffrey Clark – Co-conspirator 4, a Justice Department official who worked on civil matters and who, with the Defendant, attempted to use the Justice Department to open sham election crime investigations and influence state legislatures with knowingly false claims of election fraud.

Kenneth Chesebro – Co-conspirator 5, an attorney who assisted in devising and attempting to implement a plan to submit fraudulent sales of presidential electors to obstruct the certification proceeding.

Co-conspirator 6, a political consultant who helped implement a plan to submit fraudulent slates of presidential electors to obstruct the certification proceeding.

‘This Will Be Your Legacy!” – Rudy Giuliani STARTS SCREAMING at Jack Smith Following Latest Junk Indictments Against President Trump – Says He Was Never Notified or Served in the Case!

CNN named five of the co-conspirators tonight including Rudy Giuliani.

Rudy later went on with Eric Bolling to discuss today’s indictment. Rudy was in rare form. The former New York City Mayor screamed at corrupt Special Counsel Jack Smith. Only in government can you fail your way to the top. That is Jack Smith’s story.

Rudy Giuliani: If you don’t agree with the regime, they try to disbar you and they try to imprison you. What does that sound like? Sounds like Communist China to me. Not the United States of America. Biden has ruined our country. It’s a disgrace what he’s done. And I don’t care if you hate Donald Trump. This is a violation of his right of free speech. You even have a right to lie under the First Amendment. Now, he (Trump) didn’t. The strange thing here is the people lying are the people bringing this and this count they have here, conspiracy against rights. They should be indicted for conspiracy against rights for bringing this indictment…

…I don’t have any information that he violated any law. What I do have is I would seriously consider indicting them for 18 USC. Section 241. For indicting a man for exercising his right of free speech, that’s a conspiracy against rights. These people are dangerous.

On Joe Biden… Rudy Giuliani: There’s no way this wasn’t rushed, because it’s also poorly written and has a lot of mistakes in it. This was rushed for two reasons. One, yesterday, Biden got his head kicked in completely. The false exculpatory statements that were revealed yesterday, 24 of which most lawyers would understand this, completely convict him. Under the law, a false exculpatory statement is as powerful as a confession that comes right out of evidence, textbooks. What Archer did is prove that for ten years, Biden has been lying completely. All of that can be used against him as evidence of guilt. It’s very, very powerful. It’s much more damaging than, I think even a lot of the Congressmen realized. And it makes him, like, probably not only the biggest crook in American history. The biggest liar.

Then Rudy Giuliani starts screaming at criminal partisan hack Jack Smith: Long ago I stopped being careful. And I don’t worry about the Jack Smith’s of this world. I have a chapter in my book called Stand Up to Bullies. So here’s what I say to Jack Smith after the Supreme Court threw out your case, which should have been a disgrace and you should have gone and found another profession because you don’t belong in this one.

This one will be your legacy. Violating the right of free speech of an American citizen, never mind whether he was president or not. It could be anybody. It could be a homeless person. You don’t get to violate people’s First Amendment right, Smith, no matter who the hell you are or no matter how sick you are with Trump derangement syndrome. And this isn’t the first time you’ve acted like an unethical lawyer. It should be the last.

I had not heard of the term “conspiracy against rights.” I’m glad to know about it because they violate our rights all the time.

What the hell? His name was removed from the list before his “landmark” (per his press release) lawsuit. He claimed there were other mentions of him on the website. He also didn’t sue before he started cleaning up the internet for his declared candidacy. He sued for $2500, apparently in Hamilton County small claims court… but is “going to direct his damages to the America First Policy Institute”? Moreover, you don’t get named by WEF without first being nominated by an alumnus, and going through a lengthy vetting process including a personal interview.

This man is a bullshit artist of the first order… and Daily Caller apparently just writes crap based off of Ramaswamy’s press releases.

    1. No ballot harvesting, paper votes only, and EXTREMELY limited mail-in voting. Whether it is legal or not, are we supposed to match their illegal shenanigans with paying people for their votes and gathering dozens and dozens of ballots from people we have no clue if they are even eligible to vote? ‘Cause that’s the ONLY way “we” could beat them at their own game. No, “we” would go about it in a legitimate, legal manner, which would end up with the same result = fraudulent election!!!

      1. we could ballot harvest in states in which it is legal. you do realize that if we do it, the dems will scream for strict enforcement of the legal ballot harvesting process. their process will be scrutinized as much as ours.
whatever the state’s law allows is fair game to both and i never suggested paying anyone for their vote, but if paying people to gather votes is legal, then yes we can do that too.

        1. So whether it’s ethical or not doesn’t matter? It is legal for the press to suppress info now, thanks to Obama, and for the government to put out false info – so we shouldn’t fight against that? After all, it’s legal….I’m not good at explaining what I’m trying to get at and I’m not just being argumentative. It’s just that something being “legal” doesn’t make it the “right thing to do.”

there is NO WAY we can vote harder to get out of this mess. you can call it cheating all you want but if it’s legal and we don’t avail ourselves of it, then we are doomed to be ruled by leftists forever.
we can’t change those laws if we never get back in power.

            1. OK, and you would never, ever get an abortion, right? So, just because something is legal doesn’t make it a good thing or acceptable. Again, the biggest issue is that they will just cheat that much more to make up for OUR ethical harvesting and refusal to cheat. I just can’t see it working and it just broadens the opportunity for fraud. Sorry but on this I won’t waiver.

In a PA court case about election language against Trump…

    **********

Judge Rules Trump ‘Entitled to Presidential Immunity’ in Defamation Lawsuit

    Excerpt:

A Pennsylvania judge dismissed part of a lawsuit that a state election employee brought against former President Donald Trump for comments he made about the integrity of the 2020 presidential race……

…..The statements made by Mr. Trump about election integrity were “undoubtedly a matter of great public concern” and his remarks “dealt with the cornerstone of our democracy,” Judge Erdos wrote in his ruling, Breitbart reported.

However, “speaking to the public on matters of public concern is part of a President’s official duties. Indeed, the President’s use of the ‘bully pulpit’ to address the Nation has historically been an important feature of the office.”

    No Reference to Mindset
The judge refused to look into the motivation and the mindset which drove Mr. Trump to make his comments on election integrity, pointing out that “determining Trump’s mindset when he said what he said is not the role of the Court.”

Yet under four years later, just after the then Soviet Union invaded, just weeks before, Afghanistan and months after the tumultuous Iranian revolution of 1979, which at the time many thought the Soviet Union had a hand in, Brennan was accepted into the CIA as a junior analyst.

  23. “San Francisco Demands Elon Musk Remove Bright Sign As It’s Disturbing People Trying To Poop On Street”
    U.S. · Aug 1, 2023 · BabylonBee.com

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — In an ongoing dispute regarding the new illuminated “X” sign installed atop the former Twitter headquarters, city officials have now demanded Elon Musk have the sign removed because it is distressing to the people who are pooping on the sidewalk outside.

“The sign makes public defecation far too stressful,” said San Francisco Mayor London Breed. “Our citizens have the right to feel totally at ease when they are dropping their pants and laying cable in the streets. That infernal ‘X’ sign is causing them too much stress to have the peaceful public pooping experience they deserve.”

The San Francisco residents reached for comment confirmed the presence of the sign had an unsettling effect on their outdoor defecation habits. “Do you know how it feels to try and pinch a loaf on the sidewalk when there’s an enormous ‘X’ hanging over your head?” asked homeless miscreant Clayton Rookstool. “It’s officially stressed me out enough that I can’t go. So, tell me, where am I supposed to poop now? Indoors somewhere, by myself, where nobody can see me? No thanks!”

San Francisco’s leaders continue to maintain the presence of Musk’s new sign is “highly disturbing” and disrupting the city’s normal flow of public defecation, unprosecuted theft, and randomly discarded drug syringes. Removal of the sign, officials say, will allow the city to return to the status quo.

At publishing time, Elon Musk had proposed a compromise in which he would replace the “X” sign with a giant, illuminated poop emoji.”

  24. “Biden Calls Emergency Meeting In Situation Room For Some Small Talk About The Weather”
    POLITICS · Aug 1, 2023 · BabylonBee.com

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Tensions rose in the White House today after President Joe Biden called an urgent meeting with top administration members. According to reports, the team convened in the White House Situation Room to have a leisurely discussion about the weather.

“Listen up, folks!” Biden said abruptly. “We’ve got a serious problem to deal with, and I need all my top fellas and broads involved. We’re going to meet in the Situation Room, which is in a location someone will have to show me. We’re going to enjoy some chocolate chip ice cream and have some small talk about the weather if you get what I mean. Now, let’s go. Harbinsargindarbit!”

Though some suspicion arose as to the subject matter of the top-secret meeting, sources within the White House stressed that it was about the weather and only about the weather. “They’re talking about the weather,” said Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, who is a history-making gay, black woman. “And as they discuss the weather in a very relaxed, laid-back way, the weather will be the only thing talked about. Nothing else. That’s all. It’s just a normal weather conversation among the most senior members of the executive branch of government.”

After announcing the meeting, Biden was reportedly led away by the arm in the direction of the Situation Room as another aide put on his bib before he could enjoy his ice cream.

At publishing time, Biden was scheduled to board Air Force One to make an urgent overseas trip to Ukraine to meet with President Zelensky and several oligarch money launderers about the weather.”

If there is ever a trial on yesterday’s indictment, there will be MONTHS of testimony from lawyers on both sides about election laws in multiple states and what was and was not reasonable legal theories – even if later proven to be factually wrong. Lawyers cross-examining lawyers on election law and civil rights law – endlessly.

There are seeds of a “seditious conspiracy” count in the language of the indictment.

    These are not accidental.

My bet is they already have a superseding indictment planned to add a “Seditious Conspiracy” charge at some point in the future — likely in the middle of the election season next year.

  26. I almost never comment on all of these substack e-mail links I get daily – I think I’ve done it once until today. Jordan Schachtel wrote a very dismissive article about being tired of the Trump drama, and saying things like “…his last year in office was a disaster,” w/o pointing out that none of it was HIS doing, and pushing to “move on” from Trump and getting back to “normalcy.” This time, I couldn’t resist….I’ve already gotten 3 likes on this comment from about 5 minutes ago:

“You just can’t handle the fact that all Trump did was expose the rot within, raw and in your face! You clearly don’t have the backbone to do what needs to be done to save our Republic…and no, the US is NOT now and never has been a “Democracy!!!” “Normalcy” is slavery, pure and simple!!!”

“CINCINNATI — A brawl after a basketball game in Indiana was caught on camera. The video shows a referee getting attacked on the court during the Next Level Classic in Fairland, Indiana, on Sunday. Witnesses are blaming a girls team from Cincinnati. “They were looking for trouble,” Bobby Ewing, coach of the DSB Heat from Owensboro, Kentucky, said. Ewing said his team was playing the Cincinnati Indians Elite team. Owensboro was up 41-10 when he said the Cincinnati girls started swearing at his players. Tensions escalated, and a referee called the game.

“I didn’t hear a lot of what was said, but you could see them arguing back and forth,” Randy Lane, an Owensboro parent, said. Lane decided to record what was going on. Video shows members of the Cincinnati team arguing with a female ref. “Then all of a sudden, I just see them be stormed, like they just attacked,” Ewing said. The video shows one girl’s hand go up and hit the ref.

Ewing said it turned even more violent when players stomped on the referee. “They had her on the ground. She was laying on the ground, and they were kicking her,” Ewing said. Eventually, Ewing said the Cincinnati players were escorted out of Triton Central High School, where the tournament was held.

What he says he heard at that time was just as disturbing as what he saw. “I get to the door where they’re getting escorted out, the other team from the ref, and I hear an assistant coach say, ‘I got five shots for you in the parking lot.’ I know what five shots in the parking lot mean. That’s a gun,” Ewing said.

No charges have been filed in this case, but the Shelby Sheriff’s Office is investigating. Messages left with the Cincinnati Indians Elite team and tournament organizers were not returned.”
