They’re pink!
Of all the colors you’d associate with a goblin, I bet pink wasn’t one of them. However, this color goes come from a trait that’s much more in line with a mythical demon from the middle- ages. Goblin sharks have wrinkled, translucent skin, and through this, it’s their blood that gives them a murky, pink or purplish-grey tinge.

They grow into their noses
When they’re little, they’re equipped with disproportionately huge noses. While they never fully reach healthy proportions, this nose doesn’t grow as fast as the shark’s body does, so it does start to look a little better on them. Still, these are some ugly fish. With the weird jaws and the wrinkly skin, the oversized schnoz doesn’t do them any favors in the looks department.
Fortunately for the shark, it’s very dark in the deep, and the nose is packed with an array of electroreceptors called ampullae of Lorenzini that help it identify tiny little heartbeats of tiny little food items in the inky blackness.
They have atrophied bodies
These sharks seem to have small fins, weak skeletons, and poorly-developed muscular and visual systems. Indeed, most of what we might consider useful adaptions in an animal are missing from this one. And yet, it is supremely well adapted. This shark has been living in the deep ocean, relatively unchanged for over 125 million years.
Along with its heartbeat-detecting snout, the goblin shark has rapidly-extendible jaws that attach to an expandable, muscular mouth and throat. The ugly, ragged teeth are also not as haphazard as they seem. They’re perfect for impaling deep-sea, slippery fish.
They’re probably ambush predators
These adaptations suggest that the best way for this shark to hunt is to quietly approach prey in the dark and rapidly lunge at it with open jaws. From studying the jaws specifically, it seems that they’re able to lock down under pressure, in a retracted position, storing elastic energy in special ligaments that can be released to catapult the mouth forward, around the prey.
These jaws are said to be possibly up to nine times more protrusible than in other sharks and can be re-opened and closed again in a unique hunting pattern that’s not seen in other species.
It’s thought that this is the best way for the shark to compensate for its terrible body and inability to swim fast to catch prey.
The goblin shark has many teeth arranged in multiple rows
The upper jaw contains anywhere between 35 and 53 rows of teeth. Then there’s the lower jaw which has 31 to 62 rows of teeth. The teeth located in the main part of the jaw are narrow and long and are even more so the closer they are to the midpoint of the jaw. These teeth are also finely grooved and pointy to ‘spear’ prey, not actually crush it. It’s thought that goblin sharks will then swallow prey whole.

We don’t really know much more about it
As with so many creatures of the deep, what we know about the Goblin shark comes mostly down to a handful of dead specimens and scant footage. This means that behavioral information is sorely lacking, as is anything involving where they go and what they do. We can assume a lot from the physiology of specimens that are collected, but there are still plenty of secrets to be discovered about this elusive, deep-water shark.
They’re not caught very often
And these specimens are few and far between because somehow, the goblin shark avoids even being picked up as by-catch by trawling fisher nets. Examples have been found scattered all over the world, usually caught alone, leading researchers to assume that these sharks are solitary. Population numbers are impossible to estimate, and their geographical range is still uncertain.
This is a truly deep-sea animal
The goblin shark has been caught in depths of between 890 and 3,150 feet and as deep as 4,300 feet. A goblin shark tooth has been located lodged in an undersea cable at a depth of 4,490 feet. Adults are known to inhabit the deeper waters than juveniles and there have been reports of the odd goblin shark found in shallow inshore waters of 130 feet. The odd one has also been caught in fishing nets in the Gulf of Mexico and in the Sri Lanka region.
In 2003, there was a mystery gathering just off the coast of Taiwan
One strange event that might hold clues to goblin shark behavior was a peculiar moment in 2003 where it’s said that between 100 and 300 individuals were caught by fishermen around the same time. Was this a mating group, or a feeding frenzy? Or could it have had something to do with the corresponding earthquake, flushing them out of their submarine canyon habitats? It certainly creates more questions than it answers, and, frustratingly, a more recent paper claims that only 14 goblin sharks were caught during the event.
Even so, the species had never been found in the area previously and has never been seen there again. So as usual, the shark manages to keep its secrets.
The goblin shark diet sometimes includes man-made items
Sadly, there has been evidence of Goblin Sharks eating garbage that is found near the ocean floor – the natural habitat of this water creature.
They’re listed as Least Concern, but should they be?
The IUCN has classified goblin sharks as unworthy of any protective intervention, and this is usually a good thing. The fact that they don’t seem to be scooped in nets very often might suggest that they’re relatively safe from commercial fishing. Even marine biologists hardly ever receive specimens for study. However, so little is known about these animals that it might be a little hasty to assume they’re doing just fine. Then again, the deep is a habitat that weathers all kinds of environmental shifts far above it, remaining relatively stable in terms of temperature and salinity. Whether oxygen levels are stable this deep, on ecological timescales, we don’t know, but so far, for the last 125 million years or so, goblin sharks have been doing just fine.
We just have to hope that our fisheries aren’t wiping out their only remaining food sources.

Sheesh! This obsession is unhealthy, IMO! And this whole trope of “surviving for over 125 million years….” Question: what if the carbon-dating process is NOT as accurate as they believe? Think how much data/info that would invalidate….we KNOW we can’t trust “science” any more!!!
OK, rant over….went out to fill the jelly feeder and there he sits, patiently waiting: GT. Guess he was in a hidey hole somewhere until the storms passed….cloudy again this morning, looks like more rain.

The DOJ will not defend me in the E. Jean Carroll civil case, which is all part of the political Witch Hunt, lawyered up by a political operative who I just beat in another case, financed by a big political funder, and “judged” by a Clinton appointee who truly hates “TRUMP.” The statements that I made about Carroll are all true. I didn’t Rape her (I won that at trial) and other than for this case, I have NO IDEA WHO SHE IS, WHAT SHE LOOKS LIKE, OR ANYTHING ABOUT HER….
The Carroll civil case against me is a Miscarriage of Justice and a total Scam. The trial was very unfair, with the other side being able to do and present virtually anything they wanted, and our side being largely and wrongfully shut down by an absolutely hostile, biased, and out of control judge. My lawyers, due to their respect for the Office of the President and the incredulity of the case, did not want me to testify, or even be at the trial…..
The net result of this horrible INJUSTICE, where a completely unknown to me woman made up a ridiculous story, wrote it in a book to increase publicity and sales, I correctly disputed the story and got sued for Defamation, whereupon a hostile Judge and Jury shockingly awarded a woman who I don’t know, have never known, and don’t want to know, $5,000,000, while at the same time throwing out the Fake Rape claim. WE ARE STRONGLY APPEALING THIS TRAVESTY OF JUSTICE!!!

asks why FBI Agent Brian Auten is allowed to suppress the Hunter Biden laptop story and participate in the Trump Mar-a-Lago investigation while being under “disciplinary review” for his central role in deceiving FISA courts during the Trump-Russian collusion hoax?
“A key member of that bullshit team that did all that bullshit around Russiagate, why is he being allowed to work on Trump’s investigation and also Hunter Biden’s laptop? Why is he being allowed to work at all?
FBI whistleblowers have alleged that Auten tried to falsely discredit derogatory evidence against Hunter Biden during the 2020 campaign by labeling it as “Russian disinformation,” an assessment that caused investigative activity to cease.
This guy Auten is a complete 100% political actor. Why is he still at the FBI? Because the FBI is a corrupt political organization.
Auten has been allowed to work on sensitive cases even though he has been under internal investigation since 2019, when Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz referred him for disciplinary review for his role in vetting a Hillary Clinton campaign-funded dossier used by the FBI to obtain a series of wiretap warrants to spy on former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.
Horowitz singled out Auten for cutting a number of corners in the verification process and even allowing information he knew to be incorrect slip into warrant affidavits and mislead the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act court…
Those are the guys you pick to investigate President Trump? The guys with the shadiest past who are currently being investigated by two different investigations themselves?
Those are the guys you handpick to investigate Trump? Why do you think those are the guys investigating Trump?
Because they are the biggest criminals in the FBI, and they are willing to do the most unethical shit to get Donald Trump. That’s why.”

Newsom Shrugs As Manson Killer Van Houten Walks Out Of Prison
Leslie Van Houten, a member of the death cult led by Charles Manson, was convicted of two counts of first-degree murder in 1971 and quite deservedly sentenced to death. But she is not only still alive — outrageously, she was just released from prison.
This debacle in itself is a horrific turn of events. But it is also representative of our much larger political and cultural deterioration. Newsom’s abandonment of the effort to keep Van Houten in prison is emblematic of pro-crime policies promoted and embraced by Democratic officials around the nation, who seem excited by the chaos, violence, and fear they engender.
Ignoring the will of voters, Newsom imposed a moratorium on the death penalty in California in 2019, granting reprieves to 737 convicted murderers, including notorious beasts. Moreover, Newsom’s action exposed how he lied to the voters of California to get elected. As a candidate a year earlier, his spokesman said Newsom would enforce the death penalty law.

The FBI is a lawless, extraconstitutional agency that’s been violating Americans’ civil liberties & various federal laws from the get-go, yet has never been fundamentally reformed, nor have individual agents been held accountable for the most egregious crimes.
Today is but the latest example: After whistleblowers reported the FBI was illegally targeting Americans based on their religious beliefs, the @FBI
‘s Wray said he’s super sorry & it won’t happen again — but, as always, declined to actually punish anyone or reform anything.
Because that’s how this lawless agency’s always operated:
— After the FBI was caught spying on the Goldwater campaign at the behest of Pres. Johnson, no one was held accountable, no one was fired.
— When the FBI tried to convince MLK to kill himself, no one was held accountable, no one was fired.
— When the FBI launched Cointelpro & seeded false rumors amongst Black Panthers to get them to start killing each other & innocent Americans were caught in the crossfire, no one was held accountable, no one was fired.
— After an FBI agent murdered Vicki Weaver in 1992 while she held her infant daughter, no one was held accountable, no one was fired.
— After the FBI murdered 75 Branch Davidians in Waco, Texas, no one was held accountable, no one was fired.
— After the FBI falsely accused Richard Jewell of being the Olympics bomber, ruining his life, no one was held accountable, no one was fired.
— After the FBI framed four innocent men of murder, two died of whom in prison and the other two of whom served 62 years behind bars, no one was held accountable, no one was fired.
— After Comey’s FBI was caught running its own NSA-style domestic snooping operation that violated Americans’ 4th Amendment rights, no one was fired, no one was held accountable.
— After the FBI screwed up Dylann Roof’s background check, enabling him to buy a gun and thus commit one of the worst mass shootings in history, no one was fired, no one was held accountable.
— After gymnasts complained to the FBI that Larry Nassar was sexually abusing them, the FBI failed to follow up, and then falsified witnesses’ testimony to excuse their own inaction; no one was fired, no one was held accountable.
— After Jeffrey Epstein was known to be sexually trafficking & raping minors, the FBI cut a deal with him which traded information in exchange for enabling his trafficking & raping to continue; no one was held accountable, no one was fired.
— I have dozens of other examples and could do this all day, but perhaps the most important of all is that so many acts of terror & mass murder have been committed due to the United States having an FBI rather than a federal law enforcement agency that competently responds to emerging threats.
Believe it or not but the FBI has been warned about almost every mass killer/terrorist over the last three decades yet has somehow failed to stop almost every one. To wit: the 9/11 hijackers; the “Underwear Bomber”; the Fort Hood terrorist; the Boston Marathon bombers; three Americans who went to Syria to join ISIS; another ISIS-inspired terrorist in New Jersey who killed 3 in Washington; the Garland, Texas terrorists; the Pulse Nightclub terrorist; another terrorist who stabbed 2 in Virginia; the NYC bomber, Ahmad Rahani; the terrorists who struck the “Draw Muhammad” event; the Parkland, Fla. mass murderer; another ISIS convert named Corey Johnson; the Waffle House mass killer; the New Mexico terror compound; the Nashville bomber; the Boulder terrorist, Ahmad al Issa … Again, thousands of Americans would be alive today if Congress had already located the cojones to fundamentally reform & rein in the FBI.
In the meantime, the gravest threat to Americans’ safety & civil rights is not “white nationalists” or “domestic extremists” but rather the lawless agency that commits whatever crimes it wants without ever having to worry about being held accountable.
Ultimately, you cannot be pro “law and order” and “pro-FBI.”

Carpetbagger Tuberville is certainly not my favorite person but kudos on this one!!! He is on Newsmax now talking about it – he warned them 2 months ahead of time that he would do this, yet they just had to call his bluff! LTC(R) West is backing him up (I really like him but he’s another carpetbagger) – as he says, this is a move to get around the SCOTUS decision.
EXCERPT: “In a move that’s not too surprising, the Biden administration is once again attempting to pressure red states and drain them of resources. This is nothing new; we’ve seen this regime use every unethical and unfair political tool in their arsenal to desperately maintain power. The silver lining is that this time, their strategy has backfired. The Biden administration thought that they had a sure-fire plan to squeeze red states financially by revoking a contract to build the Space Force HQ in Alabama. The decision was supposedly made because of Alabama’s stringent abortion laws. But, in a briliant countermove, Alabama’s U.S. legislators, specifically Senator Tuberville from the Senate Armed Services Committee, and Mike Rogers, the head of the House Armed Services Committee, have cut all funding for the Air Force.
Here’s what “Dissident Soaps” had to say on GAB: “So the new Space Force (lmao) Headquarters was supposed to be built at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL (home of NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center.)
But the Biden administration is trying to financially choke red states, and has cancelled that decision, citing Alabama’s restrictive abortion laws. In response, Alabama’s US legislators, namely Senator Tuberville on the Senate Armed Services committee, and Mike Rogers, chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, have blocked the entire Air Force’s funding.
As a result, PCS moves are cancelled and reenlistment bonuses are off the table until 2024, an especially painful hit given the current morale of the US military.”

Oh, wow….I’m watching a long video (over an hour) of this guy from Ukraine who has ALL the dirt, including working WITH Victoria Nuland and the USG (which were controlling EVERYTHING!) on the coup in 2014!!! He worked with McShame at the time, as well as other USG officials, and arranged his security for him. He also worked for a company lobbying Burisma! If you want good background info, it is well worth watching. Just do it a little at a time, if need be.
“Former Ukrainian government official and diplomat Andrii Telizhenko joins Aaron Maté to discuss how, in his view, powerful US figures including Joe Biden have used Ukraine for personal corruption and the geopolitical aim of bleeding Russia — all to the detriment of Ukrainians.
Telizhenko worked for the Ukrainian prosecutor general’s office in Kyiv before moving to Ukraine’s US Embassy in 2015. He went on to work for Blue Star Strategies, a Democrat-run lobbying firm that represented Burisma, the Ukrainian gas company that appointed Biden’s son Hunter to a lucrative board seat.
Telizhenko, who cooperated with Rudy Giuliani’s effort to dig up information about the Bidens’ alleged corruption in Ukraine, has been sanctioned by the US Treasury Department for “having directly or indirectly engaged in, sponsored, concealed, or otherwise been complicit in foreign influence in a United States election.” He addresses that allegation, and much more, in this interview.”

This difference boils down to our motivations for doing what we do – add on the fact that I don’t have a life outside of the internet, whereas your life (and everyone else, for that matter!) is lived mostly off the net – so we are always going to come at this from different directions. It is entertainment, for the most part, for most people on these blogs. I think what I need to do is to spend some part of each day on serious blogs and I will probably start doing that at Substack. READ THE FULL SECRET SERVICE STATEMENT ON CLOSING WHITE HOUSE COCAINE INVESTIGATION WITH NO SUSPECT
‘On the evening of July 2, officers from the U.S. Secret Service Uniformed Division found an unknown substance inside a vestibule leading to the lobby area of the West Executive Avenue entrance to the White House.
The substance was located inside a receptacle used to temporarily store electronic and personal devices prior to entering the West Wing.
Following the discovery, safety closures were implemented around the White House. This response was designed to ensure that the found substance was not a chemical or radiological material that threatened the security of the White House. As such, the substance was field tested and preliminarily determined to not be a hazardous compound.
Testing conducted by the District of Columbia Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department indicated that the found powder tested preliminarily positive for the presence of cocaine. The substance and packaging were treated as evidence and sent to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s National Biodefense Analysis and Countermeasures Center, which analyzed the item for any biothreats. Tests conducted at this facility came back negative and gave formal confirmation that the substance was not biological in nature.
The substance and packaging underwent further forensic testing. The substance was analyzed for its chemical composition. The packaging was subjected to advanced fingerprint and DNA analysis. Both of these analyses were conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s crime laboratory given their expertise in this area and independence from the investigation.
While awaiting the FBl’s results, the Secret Service investigation into how this item entered the White House continued. The investigation included a methodical review of security systems and protocols. This review included a backwards examination that spanned several days prior to the discovery of the substance and developed an index of several hundred individuals who may have accessed the area where the substance was found. The focal point of these actions developed a pool of known persons for comparison of forensic evidence gleaned from the FBI’s analysis of the substance’s packaging.
On July 12, the Secret Service received the FBI’s laboratory results, which did not develop latent fingerprints and insufficient DNA was present for investigative comparisons. Therefore, the Secret Service is not able to compare evidence against the known pool of individuals. The FBl’s evaluation of the substance also confirmed that it was cocaine.
There was no surveillance video footage found that provided investigative leads or any other means for investigators to identify who may have deposited the found substance in this area. Without physical evidence, the investigation will not be able to single out a person of interest from the hundreds of individuals who passed through the vestibule where the cocaine was discovered. At this time, the Secret Service’s investigation is closed due to a lack of physical evidence.
The U.S. Secret Service takes its mission to protect U.S. leaders, facilities, and events seriously and we are constantly adapting to meet the needs of the current and future security environment.
EXCERPT: “‘Just left the most ridiculous meeting of all time with the Secret Service on the cocaine that was found in the White House,’ Rep. Burchett said in a video he recorded walking through Congress after Thursday’s briefing.
‘It turns out – they don’t know who did it,’ he said. ‘The investigation is going to be over at the end of the week, and they’re not going to find out who did it. And that’s basically it.’
‘Another coverup,’ the lawmaker added. ‘You know, it’s the most secure building in the entire world… Nobody, not even the press, goes in there without them knowing.’
He called the outcome a ‘bad look on the Secret Service and a horrible look on this White House.’

From Laura Loomer’s Twitter:
“Hey @RonDeSantis
Why is your press secretary @BryanDGriffin using a sock puppet account named “@MaxNordau” to harass your opponents and the media? It appears that the account was campaigning for you for President while Bryan was still on your official payroll in Tallahassee, FL in the Governor’s office before you transitioned him to your Presidential campaign.
Not only that, but this account, over the last 7 months, constantly attacked people who were exposing your shadow campaign and made up lies and smears about known Trump supporters in the state of Florida in an effort to bolster your Presidential campaign.
We have voice analysis and many other supporting documents to support these claims, which has been part of an independent investigation into the activities of DeSantis sock puppet accounts these last few months. Our investigation also revealed that the sock puppet accounts have foreign ties to Ukrainian and Israeli political affairs.
As you know, it’s illegal to campaign inside your official tax payer funded office on your office equipment, including your office phones and computers.
This is a serious ethics violation that @TeamDeSantis needs to respond to.”

Have I said lately how much I hate banks??? Sheesh, WHY must they make it so fricking complicated??? I mentioned some time ago that my bank, Bank of the West, has been bought out by a banking conglomerate headquartered in Canada – you probably remember me talking about switching to my local bank….yeah, well – one of those things I just don’t want to delve into – switching all my auto payments, etc., etc. The BMO branch that bought BOW is located in IL, so they follow IL law – which is BS! Located in NE, they should follow NE law!!! And all those terms and conditions that have changed – you have to have a fricking degree to understand it all. The instructions also made the claim that payments on my CC must be paid with cash, check, MO or in-person – nothing about doing the transfer from checking to CC on-line….so I called the Norfolk branch and she assured me, it won’t change for me. But I will have a period from Sept 1 – 4 when I will not be able to access my account at all. At least it’s over a holiday. Dang it! I get everything all neat, organized and routine and they’ve gotta fuck it all up!

drugs found THREE times in the WH since 2022…
entire article
Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert said after the Secret Service briefing Thursday on cocaine found July 2 at the White House that drugs have been found two other times since last year in the building.
The Colorado lawmaker also confirmed that Secret Service officials said at the briefing the agency likely won’t find a suspect in connection to the cocaine discovery and that the probe will conclude Friday.
“There’s a list of more than 500 individuals that they looked into their backgrounds for prior drug records or use, and nothing was determined from from their analysis,” she said. “And the Secret Service is very eager to close this within the next couple of days.”
The cocaine was reportedly found in a cubby near the White House’s West Executive entrance and weighed less than a gram.
Republican Rep. Nancy Mace, who like Boebert is a member of the House Oversight Committee and attended the briefing, also confirmed with Just the News the investigation will be close Friday without a suspect.
“The cocaine caper is going to be concluded without any outcome. No suspects, no resolution,” the South Carolina lawmaker said after the briefing, “which is frustrating, because every time there’s something unsavory happening on the president, the White House’s administration, we never get an answer. And it’s just ironic and interesting and frustrating.”
Boebert said the drug found twice before in roughly the past year was marijuana and that she thinks the Secret Service closed the investigation without a suspect “because everything in this administration is about covering up for the Biden crime family.”
“This is the third time that drugs have been found on the White House property since 2022, and we did not even hear about the marijuana,” she also said. “I certainly did not hear about the marijuana that was found in 2022, two times, and now there’s cocaine on the property. So everything they do is to move along to the next story. They know there will be another Biden crime crisis.”

Good grief!!! Would you look at this outrage…
https://freebeacon.com/biden-administration/biden-proposal-would-give-foreign-climate-group-veto-power-over-u-s-military-contracts/
FTA: “A new Biden administration rule aimed at reducing carbon emissions would give approval authority over large U.S. defense contracts to a little-known British environmentalist group that just incorporated two weeks ago.
Under the White House’s proposed rule change, a London-based group called the Science Based Targets Initiative that is funded by the Democratic Party’s main dark money network would be responsible for approving the carbon emissions reduction plans of large federal contractors.
The Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) is a fee-based service that helps companies set emissions reduction targets in line with the Paris Climate Agreement and verifies their progress. But its foreign status and murky financial background raise questions about the Biden administration’s decision to outsource its vetting process to the group. Critics say the proposal would give SBTi enormous veto power over American defense contracts and access to potentially sensitive data about U.S. military suppliers.”
