The Patriot

The Patriot is one of my all-time favorite movies, and since today is July 4th, let’s play a game! There are thirteen trivia questions in honor of the original 13 colonies. Let’s begin!

Who plays Benjamin Martin?

Who plays Gabriel Martin?

How many children does Benjamin Martin have in the beginning of the movie?

What did Gabriel do to Anne when he was a child?

Which of Benjamin’s sons dies at their farm after being shot by Colonel Tavington?

Which country promises to help the Americans?

What breed of dogs do Benjamin and his militia steal from a British carriage?

How many of Benjamin’s men do General Cornwallis’s troops capture?

When John Billings finds his wife and son dead, what does he do?

Who kills Gabriel?

What color eyes did Frenchman Jean Villineuve’s children have?

When Tavington says that Benjamin was not the better man, who does Benjamin say was?

Does Benjamin die in the end?

Here are the answers…how did you do?

Mel Gibson

Heath Ledger

He got ink on her teeth

Thomas

France

Great Danes

Colonel Tavington

His sons

No

  1. I need to see that movie again! I had forgotten every one of the trivia facts!

Our Flag Stands for Freedom, Liberty and Justice for All!!!

America has a wonderful history of seeking truth and justice and freedom but now that tradition is slipping away.

Our politicians other leftist enemies are undermining our freedom and rights every day!

The cases of the JANUARY 6 PRISONERS – whose rights are being violated – need to be taken to the Supreme Court!!!

    We must resist their tyranny!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Patriot is one of my favorite movies. I love love love the line when Gabriel is exasperated at his father not wanting him to return to war claiming he’s not a child and Benjamin responds…You’re MY child!
perfect expression of the parent-child dynamic. we are always our parents’ children, no matter what the age.

        1. we have the dvd…some Sundays we have movie days. we’ll pick a “theme” like all mel gibson movies or bruce willis.
sometimes, like today, it’ll be a July 4th theme–The Patriot, Independence Day (the alien movie), JAWS–it happens around the 4th…LOL…
one of us picks the movies and the other has to guess the theme

Two Dell laptops crashed, 3rd Dell laptop had a dancing cursor that the Dell tech who was sent to my home couldn’t cure. The HP all in one got ransomware virus. NONE of my Mac Laptops ever got a virus or crashed. I’ll never go back. If I ever get a smart phone, It will be an iPhone.
Yep – I know the Apple people are creeps, but their products are easy to use and don’t get viruses or crash. They hold up for 10+ years.

Sheetz stores are looking to celebrate Independence Day by lowering the price of nearly all their gasoline blends in honor of the year 1776 — when the Declaration was first adopted in our country.

Previously, Sheetz has lowered gas on certain blends, but this Fourth of July, the price will be dropped to $1.776 per gallon on regular, E85 (flex fuel), unleaded 88, mid-grade and premium fuel grades. It will not apply to diesel fuel.

The limited-time promotion will only last for the Fourth of July beginning at 12:01 a.m. and will go all day, or while promotional gallons last, Sheetz said.

The price drop will happen at all 675+ Sheetz stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, North Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.

In April, there was something was off with “Erica Marsh.” She seemed too stupid to be taken seriously, even though “she” had a viral series of tweets. Marsh established herself as a liberal account that got eyes, though many were undoubtedly hate clicks. If progressive America had to pick one account to be their voice on this platform, “Ms. March” would be the winner. If not, the deputy spokeswoman for her pervasive spewing of left-wing red meat catchphrases, talking points, and attacks.

During tax month, “Marsh” decided to weigh in on former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s primary defeat tweeting, “The defeat of Lori Lightfoot, Chicago’s first Black female Mayor and first openly gay mayor speaks to the racism and homophobia that candidates still face in major U.S. cities.” Lightfoot was defeated by Brandon Johnson, a black man, and the current mayor of the Windy City.

And there were other posts as well:

  8. long article i know, but very illuminating! the postal workers KNOW how 202 was stolen. and with this process described, this company can save the gov’t millions if not billions in fraudulent medicare, unemployment and other benefits…
    entire article
One of the best things about a segment on the War Room, after virtually meeting Steve Bannon, is the incoming mail two days later.

The RNC, the Trump Campaign, almost every Republican state party chairperson believes the road to 2024 electoral victory is to “out-ballot-harvest the left.” It’s hard to argue with absolute nonsense. To the rescue, however, comes a retired mail carrier who sent the following message:

Message: I am a retired mail man.

I just saw your War Room interview.
I now know where the mules got their ballots. Straight from the post office in returned/undeliverable mail.
While I have zero proof of where they ended up, I had those ballots you were talking about in my mail bag with wrong addresses or lacking apartment numbers or even people that moved and still had ballots delivered to their old apartment.
We put those ballots in a basket and someone came by and picked them up.
Hundreds or even thousands of ballots.
Who picked them up, where did they go?
Now we know why signature match was removed…
Someone needs to investigate the post office and their democratic union run activities.

Tell us, RNC, how are you going to beat this?

The only way to stop the government, in particular the United States Post Office, from gathering hundreds of thousands of loose ballots, all of which go somewhere other than to Republican candidates — is to stop those ballots in the first place.

We know, from numerous sources, that the Post Office is one of several ballot-gathering apparatuses of the Left. How much ballot harvesting at evangelical churches is needed to make up for government-sponsored ballot harvesting — industrial scale?

A key to winning in 2024 is to identify every, or as close to every as technology and diligent work can enable — every ballot being sent out that will land in that “basket” that “somebody” later picked up.

What are the addresses on those ballots?

Ballots mailed to vacant lots — or in Arizona, street corners.
Ballots sent to apartment buildings without the unit or APT number.
Ballots sent to college dorms for students registered there for decades.
Ballots sent to fraternities with a 105-year-old student.
Ballots sent to churches — which have no bedrooms, thus cannot be someone’s domicile.
Ballots for the person who moved — over a year ago.
Ballots mailed to hotels and casinos.
Ballots where the address was modified — by the voter commission (as in Arizona) — the week those ballots went out, thus missing the recipient.
Ballots sent to Manchurian restaurants, laundromats, banks, and 7-Elevens — all of which are not valid addresses for voters.
Ballots sent to UPS and FedEx boxes — sometimes to a dozen people living in that little box.
Ballots sent to the apartment building — but the address is the clubhouse — which has no bedrooms.
Ballots sent to the 22,000 new voters in a single county entered just days before the election — who were invisible to Arizona Republican candidates in 2022.
Ballots sent to Mr. Gonzales, Mr. Gonzalez, Mr. Gonzalles, all at the same address with the same date of birth.
Ballots sent to the Wisconsin college dorm that has 1,000 registered voters but can house only 250 adults.
Ballots sent to the 11 adults at the single-family Houston home that is 823 square feet with one bedroom and one bathroom.
Ballots mailed to people registered at an address in 2020 but the building was not built until 2022.
Ballots sent to the rehab facility for dozens of people who claim it as a residence for years. (Rehab is not a “years” thing.)

A simple mail carrier, supported by other mail carriers we interviewed in person, shows how completely useless is the GOP campaign to “out-ballot-harvest” the Left.

Ballots — which will not land in an eligible recipient’s hand – must be identified, months in advance of being mailed.

Most of those ballots, using super-compute technology, can be identified, shown to be illegitimate, and brought to everyone’s attention 6 months before election day.

When Harris County (Houston) floods the zone six months before early voting with 240,000 new voters, each needs to be instantly checked, verified, validated, and if necessary challenged — before the 2024 election. Wake up, Ted Cruz!

When Arizona and Wisconsin counties change identifiers the week mail-in ballots go out, then change them back, real time compute needs to flag it and ask “why?”

    Here, let’s do it.

Two state legislatures invited the Fractal team to do a “proof of concept” for their state voter rolls. So, that’s what we’re doing.

We ingest multiple copies of the voter rolls. We want at least three dates but in one of the states, we will probably do a dozen. Multiple copies of voter rolls shows movement, lights up changes made to the voter rolls that make you say hmm.

We compare every copy of the voter roll with every other copy — every cell against all corresponding cells. If someone’s zip code was changed, we flag it. Might be no big deal, but then, might be Arizona where 33,000 zips were changed days before the election.

In a state rep election, for a Republican candidate, a primary, we found 212 people who moved from all over the state to this guy’s district. They all voted. Then about a month after the election, they all moved out of the district. Where do you think they moved? Back to their original houses! He won!

We ingest the personal property tax rolls for the county. Those show the type of building, if it is a business, the number of bedrooms, baths, units, year built, square footage of living space, and about 40 other useful attributes.

In Austin, Texas, we add the construction/permit rolls, giving us a closer to real time view of every property improvement.

For these two state legislatures, we want something for the Attorney General.

We bring in the FEC (Federal Election Commission) contribution rolls. With a single click, the AG can see every “contribution mule” in the state. If that’s not enough, we bring in the massive Medicaid rolls — all claims, all providers, all recipients for dozens of years. At this point, we are in the tens of billions record level — and guess what we find?

Some of those same sketchy voter addresses — fake people living in UPS boxes correspond to Medicaid providers — who are likely fake. We migrated from just cleaning voter rolls to making a state some real dough — identifying Medicaid fraud.

This is the power of real time super-compute.

Our thesis to state governments is that it isn’t just voter fraud. It’s identity fraud and it is not just in their voter rolls, identity fraud permeates every state government roll.

While we developed the Undeliverable Ballot Database to identify every address where a ballot will be sent yet not find an eligible recipient, we also created an address and identity database for people who claim one identity in Medicaid, another in WIC and another on the voter roll.

Vast government databases are virtually invisible to current SQL/relational technology. Fractal and other super-computes are delivering real-time visibility to identity fraud lasting decades.

One of the first benefits is the Undeliverable Ballot Database — saving the mail carrier all those fake ballots.

Can’t Like Or Comment On WordPress Sites? Try This.

For those fortunate enough not to know what I’m talking about, I’ll explain. Recently, clicking ‘Like’ on a blogger’s post has often had no effect. It took some experimentation to work out why.

Likes would work if I was signed on in The Reader, but once I’d clicked through to visit a blogger’s website, clicking the ‘Like’ button did not work. An empty white box would briefly flash up then disappear, but my like was not registered. If I tried to leave a comment instead, I’d be asked to fill in all my details, as if I wasn’t signed in.

It got worse. Sometimes I could not even like or reply to comments on my own site, which was both irritating and baffling. If I happened to be answering comments via The Reader, or was using my notifications panel, all was well, but once I’d clicked the tempting ‘View Site’ button in the control panel, and tried to answer a comment from my blog, I might as well have been a complete stranger: I seemed to have been logged out.

I discovered various work-arounds that helped, but they were awkward (if you’ve missed me interacting with you recently, now you know why). For me, reading and interacting is as much a part of blogging as writing and I found I didn’t enjoy the one without the other.

I left a request for help on WordPress.com’s forum, but the timing was bad. Everyone was away at a meeting and I didn’t get an answer. It was tempting to blame WordPress, even though I knew in my heart of hearts that this kind of bug could not be happening site-wide. Liking and commenting are such essential parts of blogging that site-wide problems were sure to be highlighted and resolved if it was under their control. Luckily, I figured it out.
Why Likes and Comments stopped working

Turns out it’s a side effect of one of Safari’s default privacy settings. An update to my MacBook’s software (I’m on MacOS Mojave) had at some stage silently altered my browser settings. For those unfamiliar with the term browser – it’s the thing you click on to access (or browse) the internet. In my case it’s Safari, but you could be using Google Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera, etc.

The recent (and justified) furore over Facebook privacy concerns led to Safari blocking our ability to move from a site we had logged in on to another site and remain logged in. And that’s the issue. While we might think of WordPress.com as a single site, it is a fellowship of many millions of individual sites. (That’s why instead of clicking on just one ‘Accept cookies’ banner to comply with European law, we have to click on a hundred or so).

When using the latest version of Safari on its default setting, even though we have signed in at one place (for example in The Reader or on our own site), we’ll become anonymous when we click through to visit our blogging buddies. The only way our personal picture or logo can appear when we click Like is if the system knows who it is from. By allowing Safari the power to track us across sites, it will remember who we are and the fact we are signed in on WordPress blog A when we visit blogs B,C and D.
How to re-enable likes and comments while using safari

If you’re a Safari user and have been unable to like or comment on some WordPress posts, try the following steps:

    1. Click on the word ‘Safari’ at the top of your screen as shown below:

Shows the Safari menu activated on a Mac

    2. Click on ‘Preferences…’. A menu pane will appear.

    3. Click on Privacy, as shown below:

Shows the Privacy menu on Safari on a mac

    4. If the box to the left of ‘Prevent cross-site tracking’ is ticked, untick it to allow cross-site tracking.

Note: I haven’t experimented with any of the other settings on this menu, but with all these options unticked, as they are shown above, my powers to like posts and comment on them have been restored. Yipee!

    5. You should now be able to like and comment on posts across sites if you are signed in on any WordPress site.

The strong storms aren’t supposed to come thru until later….now that I think about it…if a tornado does come thru, I don’t want to be stuck inside a theater! At least here, I can run across to Oran/Lois’ house and keep them company in the basement….then again…I wonder if she could even get to the basement since she has to use a walker everywhere she goes?

At least if that does come to pass, I can help them get to the basement as well, if her kids don’t show up. I have to say this for them – they have stepped up in a big way and now live locally, bringing them their meals every day since Lois can’t stand at the stove to cook any more. When their tree split recently (luckily, it fell away from the house), they were there first-thing the next morning with a chain saw and trailer.

Federal Agency Forced to Build Part of Trump’s Border Wall
    By Jack Phillips
    2 Jul 2023
    https://www.theepochtimes.com/federal-agency-forced-to-build-part-of-trumps-border-wall_5370151.html

    Excerpt:

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said Friday it will build 20 more miles of U.S.–Mexico border wall, carrying out some of former President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign vow.

“Until and unless Congress cancels these funds, the law requires DHS to use the funds consistent with their appropriated purpose,” the U.S. Customs and Border Protection said in a statement announcing the wall construction. Previously, President Joe Biden’s administration had called on Congress to take action to prevent more of the wall from being constructed, which is unlikely for now because Republicans control the House.
That statement said that the approximately 20 miles of “steel bollard panels” will be erected along the Border Patrol’s Rio Grande Valley Sector, as mandated by a 2019 border barrier appropriation under Trump’s administration. It noted that “a substantial portion of unobligated funds that had been diverted from the Department of Defense” have been returned to the Pentagon.

About $190 million is left in the 2019 spending bill, said DHS, adding that it first attempted to use funds for “other priority projects” such as “environmental, and other remediation measures, system attributes for existing barrier, and environmental mitigation projects.”

“In addition, DHS authorized CBP to move forward with the Yuma Andrade and El Centro Calexico Fence Replacement Projects to mitigate immediate life, safety and operational risks to the local community, migrants, and Border Patrol agents in the area,” the statement Friday said. “Both projects will replace dilapidated segments of legacy fencing that presently create safety and security concerns for USBP agents, migrants, and the surrounding community.”

EXCERPT: “Located just about halfway between Los Angeles and Phoenix, Desert Center, California, was once bustling with business. In the ’20s, the local Desert Center Cafe was open 24-7 with customers filtering in and out as they made their way back and forth between the two iconic cities. According to The Desert Sun in Palm Springs, the cafe’s motto was “We lost our keys, we can’t close!”

Today, the Desert Center Cafe — along with the rest of the buildings on the dingy Desert Center main street — is abandoned and dilapidated. Other than the small ghost town at its center, what’s left of Desert Center is the handful of small communities surrounding it. Even absent the historic downtown, area locals had much to be thankful for. The landscape, for example, is beautiful. You can stare out at the endless desert, examine the lush palo verde and aged ironwood trees or even spot local treasures, such as the rare species of desert tortoises and sacred indigenous sites.

Thanks to the construction of massive solar farms, all of the above are under threat, along with one more resource locals likely treasure above almost all else: the water supply.

No More Water — John Beach owns a bit of land in the middle of the desolate Desert Center. At first, it’s unlikely Beach thought the area’s local solar project — a product of the Obama administration’s push to scale solar energy development on public lands — would have much of an effect on his property.

Beach’s land doesn’t even have a home on it, only two palm trees, both of which he has been watering for 15 years. These trees typically don’t cost too much to maintain; in January, Beach’s electric bill for the property was $15. However, over the next month, something changed: In February, his bill skyrocketed to $1,800.

Not too long after, a local RV park began facing water issues as well. All 70 of its residents were left without water for a week. Eventually, they managed to resupply by lowering the local well’s water pump, which cost a whopping $16,000. “That park is dead without water,” the park’s property manager, Nick Melendez, said. “You can’t even get water trucked in out there.”

According to an extensive report on the issue published Monday by Inside Climate News, a self-described nonpartisan, nonprofit climate change news organization, the massive solar farms near Desert Center are drying up the area’s water supply.”

Unfortunately for Pence, it’s a poll asking who Republicans “would NEVER vote for” in the GOP primaries. At 35%, he has nearly as much as any two other candidates combined. He’s toast.”

  16. Well, Manchin found a way to force them to pay up on their bribery!!! No doubt he is happy with himself now!

EXCERPT: “The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has authorized the resumption of construction activities for the Mountain Valley pipeline, clearing the way for the natural gas project to move toward completion weeks after Congress ordered federal agencies to approve it.

In a unanimous order issued Wednesday, the commission said that all work on the 303-mile pipeline could proceed. That includes portions of the project that will run through the Jefferson National Forest and cross hundreds of waterways and wetlands in West Virginia and Virginia.

The commission also authorized FERC’s Office of Energy Projects to approve any future modifications to the Mountain Valley project as proposed by its sponsors — as long as the director of the office finds them “to be needed to complete construction.”

FERC’s order cites the debt ceiling bill that President Joe Biden signed into law earlier this month. It included provisions backed by West Virginia Sens. Joe Manchin (D) and Shelley Moore Capito (R) mandating completion of the pipeline.”

  18. “Dear Fellow Freedom Fighters (Happy 4th)”
    THE VIGILANT FOX
    JUL 4, 2023

    “Dear fellow freedom fighters,

As bad as things have gotten in America, I don’t think it is lost yet. I don’t see people leaving in droves seeking asylum in other countries. But America will surely fall if we do nothing about it. Over 240 years ago, a “small, fringe minority” dared to defy one of the mightiest empires of the time, ignited by a belief that a future of liberty and justice was worth everything – even death. They fought for freedom not just for themselves but for the generations to come – for us.

Are you willing to do the same thing? Are you willing to make sacrifices for a better tomorrow? In order to make a brighter future for our children and grandchildren possible, you must embrace the call to personal sacrifice. And you don’t have to resort to violence; don’t underestimate the power of “no.”

Ever wonder why those COVID mandates dropped? Do you really think they really spared us because “The Science” changed? Those mandates dropped because enough people said “no” — and we have the truckers to thank for that. So, continue to say “no.” Mass noncompliance is one of the most powerful weapons we have:

    • Say no to lockdowns and social distancing
    • Say no to vax mandates tests for illness
    • Say no to the indoctrination & exploitation of children
    • Say no to rhetoric crafted to divide us
    • Say no to CBDC and digital ID
    • Say no to surveillance in exchange for “safety”
    • Say no to endless wars that impoverish funds to the people
    • Say no to collectivism at the cost of individualism
    • Say no to the ultra-rich deciding what’s best for you
    • Say no to the destruction of self-determination and freedom

It’s not going to be easy. And nothing worth fighting for ever is. They’ll smear you and deride your character. They’ll come for your job and your livelihood. They’ll intrude on your ability to buy, sell, or trade. They’ll label you a danger to society — or even ship you away from society.

Resist. Resist at all costs because bullies thrive in the absence of challenge. And you don’t make it easy for them. You don’t want to be the one stepping in line and acquiescing your way to society’s demise. Do know that your refusal inspires others to do the same. It inspires others to speak up. And when enough people stand up, tyranny falls because tyranny is not possible without compliance.

Happy 4th of July, everyone — and God bless.”

  19. typical of grifters…oh look THAT company got a gov’t handout for their project…we want one too!
    FTA
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — A company approved to build New Jersey’s third offshore wind farm says it, too, wants government financial incentives, saying its project and the jobs it would create are “at risk” without the additional help.

Atlantic Shores issued a statement Friday, shortly after New Jersey lawmakers approved a tax break for Danish wind developer Orsted, which has approval to build two wind farms off the state’s coast.

Elaborating on Monday, the Atlantic City-based Atlantic Shores said it has contacted the offices of New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy, and leaders of the state Senate and Assembly, saying it seeks a “solution that stabilizes all awarded projects.”

It remains to be seen how the request will be received by lawmakers. The tax bill passed by a single vote Friday.

Atlantic Shores did not say precisely what sort of assistance it wants, and refused to publicly clarify its request, or discuss the likelihood of being able to complete the project with its current financing.

The tax break approved by lawmakers on Friday only applies to Ocean Wind I, the first of Orsted’s two New Jersey projects. It also does not apply to Atlantic Shores.

“To establish a durable, thriving, full-scale offshore wind industry in New Jersey, we need an industry-wide solution, one that stabilizes all current projects including Atlantic Shores Project 1, the largest offshore wind project in the state of New Jersey and third largest project awarded in the United States,” the company said in its Friday statement.

The company did not explicitly say it cannot build and operate its project without further financial aid. But it did hint that outcome is possible without “immediate action.”

“Tens of thousands of real, well-paid and unionized jobs are at risk,” it said. “Hundreds of millions in infrastructure investments will be forgone without a path forward.”
