      1. Sally’s Dad has continued to improve. Is walking with supervision using a 2 pt walker. He’s beginning to feel the pain from his back injury exacerbated by severe osteoporosis. I’m taking him to meet daughter and son in law for his heart doctor appointment tomorrow. We are supposed to have a 113º heat index today! Cooling off to 103º heat index tomorrow. Seems like this Summer is going to be a hot’un!!!!

        I could tell some tales about my relationship with former husband in nursing home. He proposed first that I move into his house instead of staying at the Lodge, then when I said it wouldn’t look good, he said, well we could get married. This after I met one of his longtime girlfriends coming out of the nursing home, dressed to the hilt with heels and big hair, lipstick smeared from kissing him goodbye, wearing enough perfume to gag me standing social distance away outdoors. I pretended not to recognize her when she called my name and spoke to me. That was just for meanness to make her think she had aged so much I didn’t know who she was. They had quite a history, evidently throughout our marriage. Long story.

        His texts also include how much he likes the brand of diapers they use at the nursing home and thinks Sally Q would like them.

        Oh the irony, pathos, poetic justice of old age.

        1. After ‘she’ left, I turned around and left. Didn’t want to go into his room, be compared with her, (I hadn’t had a shower that day – no hot water at the Lodge after a storm blew out the breaker for the heater) have to smell her odious perfume again….I went back to the Lodge and washed my nose and face to erase the memory of that odor. .

    1. I think I got one of them right….LOL – I wasn’t so big on the details back in those days and I didn’t watch most of them very often….we are expecting some rain today – cloudy now w/thunder in the distance – then clearing and more rain tonight….but we’ll see what we actually get!!!

    The leaked Trump tape doesn’t tell us anything we don’t already know: As president, Trump received records as Commander in Chief. Nothing on this tape suggests he wasn’t authorized to have the record. The Constitution, various laws, and court precedent establishes that the President has unfettered authority to manage records as he sees fit. The Court, btw, should find out who leaked the tape….

      Our Take: “Since last week, Patrick Byrne has been claiming that a major disclosure was coming this week, and briefly on Monday he dropped an 80+ article in the inaugural issue of The Capitol magazine, with a forward from General Michael Flynn.

      Much of the article recaps Byrne’s prior disclosures about his affair with Maria Butina, his role in a blackmail scheme against Hillary Clinton, and his role as an eager intelligence asset in the cause for peace. He provides additional color and details for these stories. For example, he goes into detail about the US government signing off on his fictional plan to rape and murder Maria Butina, and he makes the previously undisclosed assertion that, when the FBI dropped the sting on Hillary Clinton, they also threatened Byrne’s life.

      But we also get staggering, brand new disclosures, two of which I will recap here:

      First, ‘… in 2006, 300 million Americans elected a Senate, which choose a Senate Judiciary Committee, which chose a chairman, who told me their power transcended everything else within government, systemic corruption was taking over the US government, and the country needed me to disrupt it.’

      He goes into great detail about this claim, including the names of the bipartisan group of Senators that engaged him, a group that includes Senator Chuck Grassley.

      Second, ‘Hunter Biden was reaching out to the Iranian government in the fall of 2021 with the following offer: ‘You Iranians have $8 billion frozen in a bank account in South Korea. My father will unfreeze it in return for $800 million being funneled into a numbered account for us. And if you do this deal with us, it will lubricate other negotiations which have recently started between us.’’

      The interviewer summarizes:

      ‘Patrick, you are claiming that 18 months ago, the Bidens were seeking a bribe from Iran to release funds frozen in South Korea, and to go easy in nuclear talks, and that the United States Government has been aware of this since December, 2021?’

      Byrne: ‘That is 100% correct.’

      To put a fine point on the obvious, that Hunter and Joe bribe is during Biden’s current presidency. And the corrupt government has ignored it and allowed scrotus to continue destroying America.

      The piece is consuming and reads like the confessions of a spy. Byrne insists he is not a spy but a patriot honorably serving his country. In his forward, General Flynn states unequivocally, ‘Patrick’s story is for real; he’s for real, and the corruption he’s exposed is for real, and it only gets worse the further you read.’

      He’s not wrong. If Byrne was working on a life mission to expose corruption in the US government, this piece serves as a public read out. His confession should set the establishment on fire. He also reportedly testified, under oath, to all of the information in the piece before the J6 Committee. Apparently, they omitted quite a bit from their final report.

      Byrne removed the piece shortly after posting in on Telegram, likely due to copy errors throughout that appear to be the result of an issue with tracked changes.   15. why am I not surprised? wh visitor logs are incomplete and fraught with errors. “staff” sometimes log visitors in and “forget” to include everyone. like piglosi’s chief of staff who visited WITH her forgot to sign her in–not buying it. she is known to have visited 20 documented times, yet the logs do not show that. and one visitor used a different middle initial on an occasion…

    ENTIRE ARTICLE: Hawaii Governor Josh Green signed legislation on June 1 that will make it even easier to obtain assisted suicide in the state.

    With the passage of House Bill 650, advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) are now qualified to evaluate whether or not a patient is eligible for assisted suicide and to prescribe the necessary drugs. The law also reduces the waiting period required between the patient’s request to die and the reception of the lethal prescription from 20 days to just five days. Per the new legislation, the waiting period is to be waived if it is believed that the patient would die in the interim, to a minimum of 48 hours.

    Sen. Joy San Buenaventura said that the new law was necessary because there aren’t enough doctors willing to help kill their patients. “There aren’t many physicians that would help the patient to make that choice,” San Buenaventura said. “So, by increasing the ability of a patient to have an APRN prescribing is helpful. We also shortened the waiting time, because doctors, understandably, are not going to give the prescription drugs unless they know death is imminent. And patients need to get the prescription earlier to relieve them from the suffering, so we reduced the waiting time from 20 days to five days.”

    Compassion & Choices Hawaii, which advocated heavily for the bill, praised Green’s passage but said that even the new concessions aren’t enough. “It is a pretty big leap, although it doesn’t put us out in front,” said Aubrey Hawk, advocate for Compassion & Choices Hawaii. “New Mexico’s law is just a couple of years old, and they had APRNs prescribing (medical aid-in-dying) in their first law. And I believe Washington has also changed their law to allow APRNs to prescribe.”

    In a blog post earlier this year, Alex Schadenberg of the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition put it succinctly when he noted that the loosening of Hawaii’s previous assisted suicide regulations is exactly what happens once you allow state-sanctioned death. “There is only one line in the sand. It is either legal to kill by assisted suicide or not,” he wrote. “Once assisted suicide is legal we are only debating the reasons to kill and who can do the killing.”

There are waaaay too many stories of people miraculously surviving what was determined WOULD kill them, like pancreatic cancer, liver cancer, etc. I have always advocated for a legal method for someone with a known terminal illness…who has decided they are done trying…to manage their own end-of-life to their own choosing but there are just waaaay too many opportunities for people to take advantage of it. Under those conditions, you can’t discount outside pressures.

        With all that I have been thru since losing HB….I’ve given the matter considerable thought thru the years and I know how I would want it to go. I decided the 380 wasn’t a sure thing, and messy besides (who would find me a month down the road when I haven’t emptied my mailbox??? will Jake eat me???) nor was driving my truck over a cliff – definitely don’t want to end up a vegetable, altho I am an organ donor, so there is that! I would work at gathering the necessary drugs…but I honestly don’t know if I would be ABLE to do it.

          you have to be alive while they do it…so they could just declare you dead and take them. AND you donate them–they SELL them. some rich hospital donor needs an organ and they get thrust to the top of the list. all of a sudden, you don’t stand a chance, they sedate you, tell your family you’re gone and boom take your organs.
          sounds far fetched, but i do not trust the medical community at all

I know….I thought about removing it from my DL but….I also have a notarized Advanced Living Directive in place, specifically targeted for NE requirements, with my Sis in control of what is to be done and when. I do need to make sure a copy is in my VA file, tho – pretty sure I gave it to them at one time but you never know with the VA, what might get lost along the way. She is very clear on what I want so I am comfortable leaving it in her hands. Once she’s gone….well, at that point, I probably wouldn’t much care….but Gage is fully aware of it, as is my Mom and SIL – I know he wouldn’t hesitate to bring it up!

    In a truly insane NYT column, Jamelle Bouie complains about Republicans representing people who own “construction companies, landscaping businesses, and regional distribution firms.” As if that’s a bad thing, he equates their “pathologies” with those of tyrants.

    Make no mistake, the left has contempt for “small-time business.”

    They hate the “family firm.”

Stacey Plaskett, a representative of the U.S. Virgin Islands in Congress, has distanced herself from convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, claiming she was completely “unaware” of his donations. However, recent court filings shed light on a much closer relationship between Plaskett and Epstein than previously known.

    The unsealed documents outline a decade-long association involving direct solicitations for money, personal meetings, and employment at a law firm deeply connected to Epstein’s shadowy network. Plaskett not only repeatedly sought financial contributions from Epstein and had multiple face-to-face encounters with him, but she also worked directly for a St. Thomas-based law firm that played a role in cultivating influence for Epstein’s clandestine activities.

    In a deposition last month, Plaskett disclosed that she was introduced to Epstein by Erika Kellerhals, an attorney who lobbied on his behalf and represented his business and philanthropic ventures. Kellerhals’s significance goes beyond a casual connection. Before Plaskett’s congressional tenure, she worked at Kellerhals Ferguson Kroblin PLLC, the boutique tax firm in the Virgin Islands from 2013 to 2014, a period in which Epstein was a major client.”
