Aries, the first sign in the zodiac, belongs to those born between the dates of March 21st and April 19th. And I totally screwed up last month, posting Taurus ahead of myself….sorry!
Aries Zodiac Sign Traits
The first sign of the Zodiac, Aries are the trailblazers. Passionate and independent, Aries will never do something just because everyone else is doing it—a Ram needs to be 100 percent committed to the task at hand. Competitive to the max, the best way to motivate an Aries is to turn something into a contest. Aries will put everything they have (and then some) into winning. Loyal, smart, and impulsive, they always have multiple projects on their mind, and won’t be satisfied until their work, social life, and personal lives line up exactly with the dream life they’ve envisioned. Those who are drawn to magnetic Aries may have trouble keeping up—but if they can, they’ll have a friend for life.

An Aries sign will always tell you what they’re thinking, with a frankness that may occasionally border on rudeness. But even if an Aries seems overly blunt with their opinion, that’s only because Rams value honesty above all else. And it works both ways. While an Aries may be the first to say if they think that you just phoned in a project, they’ll also be the first to compliment you for a job well done. Rams may also have a short fuse. That fiery temper can be an asset. When an Aries is angry, they’ll never play the passive-aggressive card. But for people who don’t know them well, their temper can be a turn off. Learning how to work out their anger—whether by going to the gym every day, taking some deep breaths, or learning to chill before they Tweet their thoughts to the world—is a lifelong process for Rams.
When it comes to love, Aries signs are all about initial attraction. They can sense chemistry in the first sentence uttered by a potential partner. Forthright and unabashed, an Aries will do everything in their power to go after someone they want. Sometimes, they need to learn how to slow down and foster long-term connections. Fireworks are fun, but they don’t necessarily make a great match. Aries are amazing lovers: versatile, passionate, and always invested in the moment.

Aries’ Love Style
Like their ruling planet Mars, Aries are hot and stormy. They’re a combination of confidence and passion combined with temper and petulance. Everyone who ever loves an Aries tries—unsuccessfully but excitingly—to tame them.
Aries’ Friendship Style
“Activity” is the key word for this sign. When it comes to Aries’ friends, the more variety, the better. Easy to meet and get along with, an Aries makes an incredible amount of connections in a lifetime. Long-term friends are trickier.

Aries’ Career, Money & Success Traits
Aries’ greatest career strength: Leadership. Everyone naturally looks to Aries, and being responsible for others comes naturally.
Aries Motto
“When you know yourself, you’re empowered. When you accept yourself, you’re invincible.”
Aries’ Greatest Gifts
Whether it’s backpacking around the world, launching a business, or training for a marathon, once an Aries sets a goal, they will achieve it. They don’t care what anyone else thinks, and can tune into their intuition and dreams in a heartbeat. Rams never need a plus one—they love their own company, and consider going solo to the movies a rare treat.
Aries’ Greatest Challenges
The world according to an Aries makes so much sense that they have a hard time listening to, much less accepting, alternative viewpoints. Slowing down is also tough. A Ram’s mind goes a million miles a minute, and slowing down for others can be excruciating. But when it comes to maintaining relationships, Aries must learn to adapt and embrace other ways of doing, being, and seeing.
Aries’ Secret Weapon
Strong, adamant, and forged in fire, it’s fitting that Aries’ secret weapon is iron, one of the strongest elements. Weld, cast, machine, forge, temper, harden, or anneal it, iron can take on a seemingly limitless range of shapes and qualities. For an Aries, an iron-rich diet can boost confidence and performance.

Morning, Pat! Cloudy skies again (supposedly into the week-end) and 58 this morning. The more-yellow one is probably the female. I took these last evening:
Three different birds: Blackbird and House finch on the upper feeder; a male and female Oriole – still no hummers that I’ve seen:

UPDATE: Kari Lake Lawsuit Going Back to Trial May 17, 18, 19 – Attorney Kurt Olsen Makes BOMBSHELL Claim of “Extraordinary Findings of Misconduct” By Maricopa County (VIDEO)
Kari Lake and her attorneys appeared in a Maricopa County Superior Court status conference earlier today outlining the schedule for the remanded fraudulent signature verification claim.
Judge Peter Thompson previously dismissed the lawsuit on Christmas Eve, despite the evidence of massive voter disenfranchisement targeting Republicans and obviously false trial testimony by County Elections officials.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, The Arizona Supreme Court ruled in Lake’s favor and remanded the “erroneous[ly]” dismissed signature verification fraud count back to the trial court for further review; however, Maricopa County still refuses to allow her legal team or We The People AZ Alliance to review ballot affidavit signatures from the 2022 Election…
Kari Lake attorney Kurt Olsen today made a bombshell claim while asking for the reconsideration of counts relating to machine failures on election day, stating that “Maricopa officials conducted secret testing on the tabulators on October 14th, 17th, and 18th” after the County’s Logic and Accuracy tests. Olsen further stated that “260 of those 446 tabulators failed” but were “then used in the election.”
Maricopa County’s Logic and Accuracy(L&A) tests were performed on October 11, 2022.
According to the Elections Procedures Manual, “counties may, in their discretion, conduct additional pre-election L&A tests prior to the county’s and Secretary of State’s pre-election L&A test and/or additional post- election L&A tests after the county’s post-election L&A test, including with participation from representatives of the recognized political parties. If the County conducted further testing after their L&A test without party representatives and public notice, this would likely be illegal.

unbelievable all the things they want. (I read where the “audience” where this was announced demanded 200 MILLION EACH…) $97,000 ANNUALLY…buy a home for $1…cleared of credit card, student loan and car debt…
this is FREAKING INSANE
entire insane editorial
A panel in California, where rotten public policy ideas metastasize like a fungus growing in dark, slimy conditions, has approved paying reparations to descendants of slaves. It is impossible to overstate just how insane this is.
The reparations task force, appointed by Boy Gov. Gavin Newsom, voted Saturday to recommend the state pay out as much as $800 billion to the descendants of enslaved or free black people who were in the U.S. by the end of the 19th century. That’s 2.5 times the size of California’s annual budget. Recipients could rake in as much as $1.2 million each.
Or more. Much more. Because San Francisco’s reparations advisory committee has recommended the city’s qualified African American residents be given a $5 million lump sum.
The committee also proposed “the elimination of credit card debt, car and student loans; a string of tax breaks; and 250 years of special benefits for African Americans such as a guaranteed income of $97,000 a year (adjusted for inflation); and the ability to buy homes for $1,” says Rowena Itchon of the Pacific Research Institute.
The cost of this largess, says the Hoover Institution’s Lee Ohanian, will be “on a per-household basis … nearly $600,000 per non–African American San Francisco household.”
Let’s not pretend this is about justice, fairness and decency. It’s a shakedown – aided and abetted by rich, white, guilt-ridden, virtue-signaling progressives – that not even Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton could have envisioned a decade ago.
The case against reparations is irrefutable. Or would be in a sane world, which we no longer live in.
Despite the lunacy that has a grip on our politics, we will lay out the arguments.
First, no taxpayer in California or the U.S. was alive when slavery was allowed in this country, and none of those who were enslaved are alive either. Anyone who doesn’t think this is irrelevant is neither a clear nor honest thinker.
Second, we go to Andreas Koureas of The Spectator, who brings up an unpopular but salient point: “Ultimately, the great evil of slavery was practiced by all inhabited continents and all races.” Consequently, nearly every human on the planet has “an ancestral link to the slave trade.”
History, perpetually in conflict with “The Narrative,” tells us that “indigenous Africans, would capture slaves in village raids or as prisoners of war, and they would be sold at the African coast to outside traders or fellow Africans within the subcontinent.”
“Long before the transatlantic slave trade began, slavery was commonplace in many parts of the globe,” Koureas adds. “The further you go back in history the longer the list of slavers grows, including everyone from the Ancient Egyptians to the Shang dynasty in China.”
Our third exhibit, which is inextricably linked to the first two, is the impossibility of identifying who is eligible. For instance, would radical Marxist Angela Davis be eligible? The University of California, Santa Cruz professor has for more than five decades passed herself off as an oppressed person of color. But it turns out the Black Panther and Soviet apologist is a descendant of a Puritan who arrived on the Mayflower. As some wags have asked, does this mean that, having both slave and white settlers in the family tree, she has to pay herself reparations?
Of course, she wouldn’t be the only person with such a mixed background who would confound any calculation on the way to deciding who gets the checks and who doesn’t. And given the number of impostors who have tried to pass themselves off as black in recent years, it’s a certainty that we’ll see a sudden and sharp upsurge of non-blacks identifying as black so they can get in on the reparations racket.
And finally, California was not a slave state. At least not before politicians in recent decades have burdened residents and businesses with punitive taxes, suffocating regulations, a long string of prohibitions, and authoritarian mandates that have made tens of millions subjects of the state.
While Kalifornia Krazy is clearly at work here, the madness is taking hold elsewhere.
“Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg is one of 11 mayors across the country who are also forming task forces,” says Itchon. “Already, the Evanston, Illinois, city council voted to pay $25,000 to qualifying black households for payments on homes or make repairs. That city pledged to spend $10 million on the program over the next 10 years.”
Meanwhile, the appalling Barbara Lee, who represents a House district in Oakland, has cosponsored a bill in Congress to study reparations. It should never get a hearing, but we live in unhinged times, so it will get much more than that.

I was going to go out and get the garden ready for planting maybe this weekend or next, but there was a huge porcupine eating the tree stump. so hubby shot it. he said when he was out yesterday to retrieve the decking boards he unloaded from the truck Friday before we left, he saw that porkies had chewed into both boards. he got rid of the boards yesterday, and wants to deter them from coming too close to the house again.
(he took the boards with us the time before last time to replace boards in my mom’s ramp. he took more than he needed)
I will wait till he disposes of the body later before i head out

I used to go out on the roof over the sun porch to smoke (my room was on the 2nd floor), since we never smoked in the house, and just enjoy the beautiful view. I watched a black bear roaming around in the back yard not 40 feet away from me. He/she didn’t even know I was there.

“Bills Under Fire After New Details Emerge on Matt Araiza Allegations”

by Nathan Dougherty
Updated May 9, 2023 at 12:57am
(Matt Araiza #19 of the Buffalo Bills smiles during mini camp on June 15, 2022 in Orchard Park, New York.)
EXCERPT: “The Buffalo Bills released rookie punter Matt Araiza last year after troubling allegations arose claiming he took part in a sexual assault during his time in college at San Diego State University.
Now, a new report has cast doubt on some of those allegations and led to a backlash against the team. Yahoo Sports published a report based on the transcript of a meeting between a deputy district attorney and the accuser showing evidence that Araiza had left the party by the time an alleged gang rape took place, and that investigators found other evidence suggesting that the 17-year-old accuser had lied about her age, telling people she was 18. Araiza has denied all allegations.
————–
The Bills also faced backlash from fans last August, shortly before Araiza was released, when reports indicated that they had been aware of the civil lawsuit for several weeks. The attorney representing the woman, Dan Gilleon, told ESPN that the Bills were made aware of the lawsuit in July but he was not released until details became public the next month.
The Bills released veteran punter Matt Haack after they had learned about the lawsuit, setting up Araiza to go into the season as the starter. Some fans were angry that the team did not immediately cut ties with Araiza after learning about the allegations.
“I just wrote to my season ticket rep about how I am disgusted to be a fan of the Bills right now,” one fan tweeted on August 25. “If you are pissed, you should write to your rep tonight or call them tomorrow. Cut Matt Araiza @BuffaloBills do not play him in Carolina.”
The Bills would release Araiza two days later on August 27. They signed punter Sam Martin before the season began, and in March gave him a three-year contract extension.”

Frogs in Puerto Rico are croaking at a higher pitch due to global heating, scientists have said they have found. The frogs appear to be decreasing in size at warmer temperatures, which causes their croaks to become high pitched. If the trends continue, the heat could become too much for the sensitive amphibians to survive successfully, researchers have said.
The call of the coquí frog is well known to most who have spent time in Puerto Rico or the Virgin Islands. It is named for its two-note call “co-qui”, which rings out throughout the island every night. I remember it well – it is a very cool sound.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida may study whether a radioactive waste byproduct of fertilizer production can be used to help build roads under a bill passed by the Legislature.
The proposal, which awaits a signature from Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, would task the state with conducting a study about the use of phosphogypsum in road construction aggregate materials.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency requires that phosphogypsum be placed in ”stacks” that resemble enormous ponds. Florida has 24 such stacks, totaling about 1 billion tons of phosphogypsum, with 30 million new tons generated every year through the phosphate fertilizer mining industry.
The EPA in 2020 approved the use of phosphogypsum in government road construction projects but reversed its decision after Democratic President Joe Biden took office.

Environmental groups have warned about phosphogypsum spilling into waterways and elsewhere during storms. A leak in March 2021 at a stack called Piney Point resulted in the release of an estimated 215 million gallons (814 million liters) of polluted water into Tampa Bay and caused massive fish kills. The EPA regulates phosphogypsum because the material contains radium-226, a naturally occurring radioactive substance that produces radon gas, which is a hazardous air pollutant.”

“CNN Fires Don Lemon Again Just To Be Sure”

MEDIA · May 8, 2023 · BabylonBee.com
“NEW YORK, NY — Amid incessant fears that Don Lemon may somehow find a way to return to his post at CNN, leadership at the satirical news organization took an unprecedented measure today and fired him for a second time, just to make sure.
“It may seem silly, but we had to make sure there was no possible way for this guy to come back,” said CEO Chris Licht with a shudder. “This morning we invited him back to our world headquarters, sat him down in front of HR, and fired him a second time. We must take every precaution.”
“We’ll also consider a third firing if we deem it necessary.”
Sources say they had witnessed the former morning talk show host lurking around the building after hours, having conversations with employees at the front entrance, and even berating the looks of middle-aged women in the lobby. Several sightings had fueled fears that Lemon wasn’t actually gone for good.
To drive the point home after the firing, Lemon was even given another box of office supplies to carry out as he was escorted by security, witnesses say.
At publishing time, CNN had gone ahead and fired him a third time, just in case.”

“With Late-Night Shows Off Air, Liberals Forced To Start Paying For Actual Therapy”
ENTERTAINMENT · May 6, 2023 · BabylonBee.com
“U.S. — Deprived of free group therapy after late-night shows were shut down by the writers’ strike, liberals have found themselves now having to pay for actual psychotherapy.
“For years, I’ve had free therapy five nights per week,” wept local liberal Calvin Matthews. “This has been a brutal few days. Doc, could you maybe sing a little song about vaccines to cheer me up?”
For over a decade, liberals have had several different virtual group therapy sessions offered free of charge every weeknight. “It’s been really nice to have different therapists on each channel,” said local woman Molly Donaldson. “If you need to know you’re not alone with all your bitterness and rage, you just turn on Kimmel. If you need to blame your problems on someone, turn on Colbert. We even had James Corden, if you just wanted to watch someone be terrible at their job so you could feel better about yourself. Now, it’s all gone!”
Therapist offices across the country have been overwhelmed by the sudden rush of liberal patients. “Just one night after the strike hit, my office was brimming with liberals,” said psychologist Dr. Jay Bradley. “Some need to hear it’s all Trump’s fault, some just need a little reminder that being liberal means they are intellectually superior. I know a lot of people make fun of Colbert, but the guy has been doing a real service for society providing free therapy for so many distraught liberals. I’m dying here.”
At publishing time, the liberals were horrified to learn that the government does not pay for actual therapy.”

ok…I promised the story:
we were packing up the truck Saturday afternoon and the “friend” came strolling up. (I left a message that i would really like to talk with her) She said hey, then peering into the truck, she asked oh what’re taking with you?
I said hey back and thanked her for being there for my mom–and taking her where ever she needed to go. Then i said i needed to ask her for another favor.
I said that mom was beginning to notice things missing in the house and even though I wasn’t accusing anyone of anything, I was asking family and friends to make a list of things Mom might have given them and had forgotten about.
This way I can assure her she was safe in her own home and no one was taking things. I said that i had taken extensive pictures in the house–every floor–and the next time we come down, we can compare. Her memory is slowly going, so I am doing everything i can to make her feel better.
(all the while I was watching her face and I saw several clouds cross her face…)
then i said, we’re planning on getting nanny cams for every floor, so she can see for herself that she’s safe.
so, I told her, if she could get a list to me, I would appreciate it. she nodded and then left.
