The Mystery of Bowman’s Hill Tower

Bucks County, PA boasts many scenic spots, but there’s only one place to get an above-the-trees, bird’s-eye view of the surrounding countryside and Delaware River.

Rising 125 feet in the air atop Bowman’s Hill and offering a 14-mile view on a clear day, Bowman’s Hill Tower is a favorite stop for locals and tourists alike.

The Tower is located near the corner of Rt. 32 (River Road) and Lurgan Road, a few miles south of New Hope, PA.

The History of Bowman’s Hill Tower

One of the biggest misconceptions about the Tower is that it existed during General George Washington’s day. In reality, it was just built of local field stone in 1929-31 to commemorate what may have been a lookout point for Washington’s troops to watch for enemy activity on the Delaware River. Today, historians consider using Bowman’s Hill for a lookout to be more oral tradition than documented fact, however.

Construction of the Tower took nearly two years to complete. More than 2,400 tons of materials were used, including 1,200 perches of native stone from the hill and nearby stone fences, cut stone from local quarries, 517 tons of sand and 225 tons of cement. Workers excavated 15-feet deep so that the 24–foot-squared base would rest on a bedrock foundation. With construction done entirely by the Washington Crossing Park Commission employees, the total cost of the Tower was $100,000, including labor and materials.

Soon after the tower’s construction, workers planted 28,300 seedlings in the area to reforest the hill like people thought it would have been in Washington’s time. Some of those seedlings have become today’s towering trees on Bowman’s Hill. Due to the Tower’s height, lightning strikes were an ongoing problem. To improve safety and eliminate damage to the Tower, the National Lightning Protection Company of St. Louis, MO installed a lightning protection system on the building. Then the tower was vandalized (for the copper). The broken copper cables that visitors see hanging down its sides were part of this system. With the installation of new cables that are not copper, the system still operates today.

In the early 1980s, the Bowman’s Hill Tower underwent extensive restoration. An elevator was installed that takes visitors three-quarters of the way to the top, although it still is necessary to climb the last 23 steps to reach the outside observation deck. Previously, visitors had to climb a spiral staircase all the way to the top of the Tower. Today, visitors can choose which way they would like to reach the top.

So, what’s the mystery?  The NAME!

There is no definitive source for the name Bowman, however there are several theories:

  1. The original name was Beau Mont which was paired with Belle Mont, a similar hill in New Jersey. There was a John Beaumont who owned the original land in 1783. His tract of land can be seen in the Upper Makefield township building.
  2. The hill was named for Thomas Bowman, an English merchant who conducted trade up and down the Delaware River in the 17th century.
  3. The hill was named for a John Bowman, a friend of Jonathan Pidcock, the first European settler in the area. Pidcock’s farm was located in the northeast end of the hill, from which Revolutionary War soldiers encamped on the farm, then owned by a Robert Thompson.
  4. Or perhaps Bowman refers to a Doctor John Bowman (possibly the same John Bowman as above), allegedly ship’s surgeon to Captain Kidd. Dr Bowman was thought to have retired to eastern Pennsylvania after his time at sea and is said to be buried somewhere on the hill. The legend goes on in claiming that pirate treasure may be buried on the hill.

Note: The only burial placard on the hill commemorates a John Pidcock, early settler of the area, and not Dr. Bowman.

For whatever reason this hill was named, it’s a lovely lookout spot—even if George Washington never used it, Captain Kidd’s doctor never heard of it and there isn’t any buried treasure there!

It’s a local Florida story and multi-faceted. However, for the bigger national audience the issue that should be considered is that Ron DeSantis and the Florida Republican party took $9+ million in campaign contributions from state energy providers, then approved the biggest electricity rate hikes in Florida history.

Additionally, and more obscure in the outcome, the Public Service Commission (Public Utility Commission, or PUC), after being filled with DeSantis appointees, informed the electricity providers they no longer needed to report the number of residents who were disconnected from utility service due to nonpayment.

One could make the intellectual and political argument, the scale of disconnection -which is quite alarming- would be averse to the interests of Governor DeSantis seeking a higher office.

Like much of the country, electricity rates in Florida have skyrocketed with the increase in natural gas prices. However, unlike much of the country, most Florida residents have only one option for electrical utility power. The rate of disconnection in Florida amid lower income and working families is far greater than almost any other state. Florida is quickly becoming a class-driven society with haves and have-nots.

    1. They had already cut off the beak and the talons for souvenirs when they got caught. They claimed they thought it was a vulture. The Stanton County Sheriff is frustrated, can’t get help from any Feds on this case. Stanton is about the same distance from Norfolk as Madison, where the pork plant is and most of these people work; now they are starting to take jobs in Norfolk, too. I’ve talked about the problems Michael is having at AutoZone.

I lived in Stanton for just under a year in 89/90 – that was where HB came home one day talking about her friend – I forget his name now – whose wife gave her cookies; she found a kitten and wanted to bring it home – we already had 2 dogs so I said no. She informed me that “Bob” would find a home for it and off she went. Later that night, HB was in bed and we were watching TV when there was a knock on the door.

When I opened the door, there stood the Sheriff. He just wanted to let HB know that he had found a home for the kitten. Her “friend” was the Sheriff – he still walked main street every night, checking to make sure the doors were all locked and all was well. Of course, that Sheriff is long gone now.

For years, the Department of Homeland Security has run a virtually unknown program gathering domestic intelligence, one of many revelations in a wide-ranging tranche of internal documents reviewed by POLITICO.

Those documents also reveal that a significant number of employees in DHS’s intelligence office have raised concerns that the work they are doing could be illegal.

Under the domestic-intelligence program, officials are allowed to seek interviews with just about anyone in the United States. That includes people held in immigrant detention centers, local jails, and federal prison. DHS’s intelligence professionals have to say they’re conducting intelligence interviews, and they have to tell the people they seek to interview that their participation is voluntary.

But the fact that they’re allowed to go directly to incarcerated people — circumventing their lawyers — raises important civil liberties concerns, according to legal experts

WikiLeaks claims that documents it obtained show that through a program called Weeping Angel, the target TV appears to be off when it is actually on — and listening.

WikiLeaks says the audio goes to a covert CIA server rather than a party authorized by Samsung. In such cases, audio isn’t limited to TV commands but could include everyday conversations.

The totality of the information, code-named “Vault7,” included more than 8,700 documents and files. WikiLeaks, in a press release announcing the documents, said the CIA “lost control” of its vast array of hacking and spying tools. “The archive appears to have been circulated among former U.S. government hackers and contractors in an unauthorized manner, one of whom has provided WikiLeaks with portions of the archive,”

  9. oklahoma votes no
    FTA

Oklahoma voters rejected a state question Tuesday to allow for the recreational use of marijuana, following a late blitz of opposition from faith leaders, law enforcement and prosecutors.

Oklahoma would have become the 22nd state to legalize adult use of cannabis and join conservative states like Montana and Missouri that have approved similar proposals in recent years. Many conservative states have also rejected the idea, including Arkansas, North Dakota and South Dakota last year.

Republican Gov. Kevin Stitt and many of the state’s GOP legislators, including nearly every Republican senator, opposed the idea. Former Republican Gov. Frank Keating, an ex-FBI agent, and Terri White, the former head of the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, led the “no” campaign.

“We’re pleased the voters have spoken,” said Pat McFerron, a Republican political strategist who ran the opposition campaign. “We think this sends a clear signal that voters are not happy with the recreational nature of our medicinal system. We also think it shows voters recognize the criminal aspects, as well as the need for addressing mental health needs of the state.”

The “no” side was outspent more than 20-to-1, with supporters of the initiative spending more than $4.9 million, compared to about $219,000 against, last-minute campaign finance reports show.

State Question 820, the result of a signature gathering drive last year, was the only item on the statewide ballot, and early results showed heavy opposition in rural areas.

“We don’t want a stoned society,” Keating said Monday, flanked by district attorneys and law enforcement officers from across the state.

The Federal Trade Commission has demanded Twitter Inc. turn over internal communications related to owner Elon Musk, as well as detailed information about layoffs—citing concerns that staff reductions could compromise the company’s ability to protect users, documents viewed by the Wall Street Journal show.

In 12 letters sent to Twitter and its lawyers since Mr. Musk’s Oct. 27 takeover, the FTC also asked the company to “identify all journalists” granted access to company records and to provide information about the launch of the revamped Twitter Blue subscription service, the documents show.

  11. “An Opinion Piece in Newsweek is Calling for “Apologies” and “Investigations” — And it is NOT asking for “pandemic amnesty”

    Igor Chudov

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “Wow. Newsweek published an opinion piece by Scott Atlas, calling for “Apologies” and “Investigations.”

“While the article does not contain anything that would be truly new for the readers of this substack, the fact that it is published in a major magazine is a seismic change.

“Almost all of America’s leaders have gradually pulled back their COVID mandates, requirements, and closures—even in states like California, which had imposed the most stringent and longest-lasting restrictions on the public. At the same time, the media has been gradually acknowledging the ongoing release of studies that totally refute the purported reasons behind those restrictions. This overt reversal is falsely portrayed as “learned” or “new evidence.” Little acknowledgement of error is to be found. We have seen no public apology for promulgating false information, or for the vilification and delegitimization of policy experts and medical scientists like myself who spoke out correctly about data, standard knowledge about viral infections and pandemics, and fundamental biology.”

The article, which many other COVID skeptics could sign, goes on: “Here are the 10 biggest falsehoods—known for years to be false, not recently learned or proven to be so—promoted by America’s public health leaders, elected and unelected officials, and now-discredited academics:

    1. SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus has a far higher fatality rate than the flu by several orders of magnitude.
    2. Everyone is at significant risk to die from this virus.
    3. No one has any immunological protection, because this virus is completely new.
    4. Asymptomatic people are major drivers of the spread.
    5. Locking down—closing schools and businesses, confining people to their homes, stopping non-COVID medical care, and eliminating travel—will stop or eliminate the virus.
    6. Masks will protect everyone and stop the spread.
    7. The virus is known to be naturally occurring, and claiming it originated in a lab is a conspiracy theory.
    8. Teachers are at especially high risk.
    9. COVID vaccines stop the spread of the infection.
    10. Immune protection only comes from a vaccine.”

Lastly, Scott Atlas is asking for investigations and apologies. He also recognizes that investigations will likely be fake:

“But to ensure that this never happens again, government leaders, power-driven officials, and influential academics and advisors often harboring conflicts of interest must be held accountable. Personally, I remain highly skeptical that any government investigation or commission can avoid politicization. Regardless of their intention, all such government-run inquiries will at least be perceived as politically motivated and their conclusions will be rejected outright by many. Those investigations must proceed, though, if only to seek the truth, to teach our children that truth matters, and to remember G.K. Chesterton’s critical lesson that “Right is right, even if nobody does it. Wrong is wrong, even if everybody is wrong about it.”

So, I would say, those of us (myself included) who insist that the times are changing are now vindicated! Will we see apologies and investigations? (the real apologies and investigations, not fake ones)”

    Liked by 1 person

    1. we may see investigations, but apologies? that requires admitting they were wrong–and how wrong could have legal liabilities. i doubt we will see that. they admit they’re wrong and then they could face lawsuit after lawsuit–not that they won’t now, but what would their defense be if they publicly admit they were wrong?

          we are past apologies.
I taught my kids…when you make a mistake, you should say you’re sorry–BUT you then have to FIX what you did wrong.
just saying sorry lets the offender off easily. after awhile, it becomes meaningless unless there is action to back it up.

Well, read what I have to say. Look at the evidence. If you were taken in by this piece, called Could This Man Have Saved the World? by the Breggins, you were had.

Here is the recent Breggin and Breggin piece in italics with my comments in normal font and “block quote”

    https://www.americaoutloud.com/could-this-man-have-saved-the-world/

BREGGIN: “On February 2, 2023, Robert W. Malone, MD, finally called for a ban on mRNA and DNA COVID injections — years after many of us had come to the same conclusion.1 But to our shock, we have now discovered that Malone, more than three years ago, had already scientifically proven and published that these COVID vaccinations with genetic mRNA and DNA were too dangerous for human consumption, even experimentally. He never made professional or public disclosures of this information. Meanwhile, the article remained in obscurity until we recently discovered it.”

MERYL: “Did you see what the Breggins just did? They tell you that Malone published a preprint article (as second, non-corresponding author) in February 2020 warning of possible problems with COVID vaccines. Then in the next sentence they say he never made disclosures of this material. Right after they told you he published it 3 years ago. DUH? How could smart people not notice this immediate contradiction? BTW the preprint is dated March 2020. It’s easy to find preprints—early in the pandemic, that was all we had to go on, and I read them avidly. The Breggins took 3 years to find it, and because it took them so long to find, they claim it was intentionally obscured? This makes no sense.”

This contract is now a famous document that was used by Pfizer in their Motion to Dismiss Brook Jackson’s case under False Claims Act. It is publicly available in a partially redacted form.

Important: understanding redactions! Two types of redactions are used in this document, (b)(4) and (b)(6). Here is what they mean:

    (b) (4) Reveal information that would impair the application of state-of-the-art technology within a U.S. weapon system

    (b) (6) Reveal information, including foreign government information, that would cause serious harm to relations between the United States and a foreign government, or to ongoing diplomatic activities of the United States

In the Motion to Dismiss, Pfizer lawyers stated that the purpose of what the Government hired them to do was a “large scale manufacturing demo”. In my opinion, that’s the correct interpretation of the SOW for covid countermeasures – a demo – a fakery by definition. It is stated right here on the front page, complete with the misspelling of Pfizer’s name. Ok, I know, the Army was in a hurry…to make many shots for all of us……by foreign agents? This letter is addressed to ATI, DOD’s mega-manager, a non-profit company managing untold billions in OTA contracts for the DOD. According to the type of redaction used, the personnel of ATI mentioned in this letter: Sr. Contracts Manager, Agreements Specialist and Agreements Officer – all appear to be foreign agents: their names are redacted with (b) (6).

  14. ‘Weaponization’ subcommittee alleges FTC ‘harassment’ of Musk-owned Twitter — “The timing, scope, and frequency of the FTC’s demands to Twitter suggest a partisan motivation to its action,” they wrote.

ENTIRE ARTICLE @ JustTheNews: “The House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government on Tuesday released an interim staff report detailing the Federal Trade Commission’s “overreach” in making extensive demands of social media giant Twitter following Elon Musk’s purchase of the platform.

Dubbed “The Weaponization of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC): An Agency’s Overreach to Harass Elon Musk’s Twitter,” the report notes various requests for information the agency made of the platform, which the subcommittee asserts occurred without “logical reason.”

Weaponization subcommittee report on FTC, Twitter — “Consisting of over a dozen FTC demand letters to Twitter that—in the span of less than three months following Musk’s acquisition—make more than 350 specific demands, this information shows how the FTC has been attempting to harass Twitter and pry into the company’s decisions on matters outside of the FTC’s mandate,” the subcommittee wrote in a press release on the report.

“The timing, scope, and frequency of the FTC’s demands to Twitter suggest a partisan motivation to its action,” it continued. “When Musk took action to reorient Twitter around free speech, the FTC regularly followed soon thereafter with a new demand letter.”

In particular, the House lawmakers observed FTC requests for information regarding which journalists engaged with the platform, the creation of Twitter Blue, and nearly all matters related to Musk himself.

“There is no logical reason, for example, why the FTC needs to know the identities of journalists engaging with Twitter,” the subcommittee asserted. “There is no logical reason why the FTC, on the basis of user privacy, needs to analyze all of Twitter’s personnel decisions. And there is no logical reason why the FTC needs every single internal Twitter communication about Elon Musk.”

Remember … that 14,000 hours of video, in the hands of the DEMOCRAT 1/6 COMMISSION, is ONLY the Government owned CCTV stuff. There are 10’s of thousands more hours of PRIVATELY and MEDIA OWNED video as well as 10’s of thousands Photos … shown for nearly 1+ years until censored on the internet.

The “official” narrative of the 1/6 COMMISSION, the Media and Political entities attacking Tucker Carlson are based on a 3-year old, bought and admittedly paid for (by CNN and NBC), heavily edited 10+ second video clip.

Plus, for those able to think and remember, the LIVE TV footage of the Capital Mall and across DC, on 1/6 January 2020, DID NOT match the narrative being READ by the talking heads from 9am to well past Noon. The talking heads were even in a panic as they read one thing and the LIVE video was clearly showing another.

Besides the 500+ political prisoners in the DC Gulag, the real tragedy here is that millions of Americans living in la la land have been so desperate to believe the 10 second clip for 3-years to preserve their la la land boundaries.

Hershey said consumers want choice and are looking for products they consider healthier or with fewer ingredients, including reduced sugar and plant-based options. Hershey also introduced an organic version of Reese’s Cups in February 2021.

Younger consumers, in particular, are looking to reduce consumption of animal-based products, says Euromonitor, a market research firm. In a 2021 survey, Euromonitor found that 54% of Generation Z consumers were restricting animal-based products from their diets, compared to 34% of Baby Boomers.

Nestle has sold its KitKat V, a vegan KitKat bar, in Europe since 2021, while Cadbury sells a vegan chocolate bar in the United Kingdom. But so far, U.S. vegan chocolate options have generally been limited to premium brands, like Lindt, or organic chocolatiers like Hu Kitchen.

Hershey said it developed plant-based versions of Reese’s Cups and Hershey bars __ some of its most popular products __ because there’s a dearth of mainstream plant-based chocolates in the U.S. market.

The plant-based versions will cost more. Hershey wouldn’t share details because it said retailers set final prices. But Rite Aid lists a 1.4-ounce package of two plant-based Reese’s Cups at $2.49; that’s about $1 more than consumers would pay for a regular package. Hershey charges a similar premium for organic versions of its Reese Cups, which went on sale in 2021.

And ditching the dairy won’t cut calories. While Hershey didn’t release all of the nutritional facts, the 1.4-ounce package of plant-based Reese’s Cups have 210 calories; that’s the same number of calories as a 1.5-ounce package of traditional Reese’s Cups.

  20. wow…the hubris! voting themselves a 40-45% salary increase
    entire article

The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors voted Tuesday to move forward with consideration of a proposal to give themselves salary increases of up to 45%, even as the county, located just outside of Washington, D.C., faces a shortage of police in the midst of a crime surge.

With inflation still high, county residents are facing real estate taxes that have risen 7% on average. In addition, Virginia counties assess the value of personal vehicles and send “personal property tax” bills that residents must pay each year. These bills are at record levels due to the high values of used vehicles.

The Board of Supervisors voted 8-2 to proceed with consideration of a plan to approve supervisor salary increases from $90,000 per year to between $125,000 and $130,000. The board’s chairman, Jeff McKay, is currently paid $100,000 yearly, according to local media reports. Under the new proposal, his pay would jump to between $140,000 and $145,000.

Residents have a chance to respond to the Board’s action on Tuesday, March 21 at 4:30 p.m., when the proposal comes up for a final vote.

Springfield Supervisor Pat Herrity opposes the pay increases. In a statement on social media, he noted that the county is 200 police officers short as it faces a public safety crisis.

“It is unbelievable that this Board would propose a 37 to 45 percent raise for themselves,” Herrity wrote, “when our residents are struggling with high inflation, a 50 percent increase in homeowner taxes over the last decade, and in a budget that does not address the staffing crisis in public safety and other critical county positions.”

Chairman McKay, who would see a 40-45% pay increase under the proposal, has a county-paid vehicle. Herrity reportedly said at the meeting on Tuesday that the board hasn’t formally approved McKay’s use of the vehicle. McKay didn’t directly respond and changed the subject.

According to local news outlet WJLA, major crime incidents are increasing in the county. A Patch report said that Dranesville District Supervisor John Foust, who is not seeking reelection to the board this year, “made the motion to raise the board members’ salaries.”

The Fairfax County Taxpayers Alliance said the supervisors haven’t earned the raises they are seeking to give themselves. The group also noted that supervisors are able to hold other jobs outside of their board duties.

“For over 20 years they’ve been raising real estate taxes three times faster than homeowner income,” said Arthur Purves, the group’s president. “Their spending is out of control. For example, they give half our taxes to the school board without demanding any accountability. The result is that between FY2018-FY2022, the school budget increased $400M while FCPS SAT scores decreased 27 points. Over the same period, Virginia SAT scores increased 14 points.”

Purves said that “political rhetoric and mismanagement of the police has made it much more expensive to hire police officers, with the bill passed on to the taxpayers.” He added that “tax hikes subsidize and reward mismanagement.”

  21. “Fauci’s Day of Reckoning: Former Top Covid Doc’s Many Lies Get Wrecked at Coronavirus Hearings — “Dr. Deborah Birx confirmed was in fact gain-of-function, contrary to statements by Dr. Fauci.”

    Kyle Becker

EXCERPT: “We have a good idea from today’s Covid hearings why Dr. Anthony Fauci cashed in his Big Pharma royalties and road off into the sunset before the Republicans took over the House. The House’s Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic held hearings today that eviscerated Fauci’s numerous lies on SARS-CoV-2 origins. Subcommittee Chair Brad Wenstrup (R-OH) led off the hearings with a sober fact-sheet that laid the nation’s former top Covid doc’s numerous lies to waste. (Read and/or watch the video above.)

“The truth is we don’t know the origins of Covid 19 yet for sure. We don’t have a smoking gun,” Wenstrup said. “First, the science behind Covid-19,” he continued. “The genome of Covid-19 is inconsistent with expectations and is unique for its group of viruses. Covid-19 has both a binding domain optimized for human cells and a furin cleavage site, or a small part of the virus that makes it so infectious that has never been seen before in a SARS-related virus. In other words, Covid-19 has unique characteristics that made it very infectious to humans. These have never been seen before in any other viruses of its type. Most viral outbreaks are slow and small. CDC data shows SARS-infected approximately 8,000 people worldwide and eight in the US, similar with MERS, which infected approximately 2,000 people worldwide. But Covid-19 was primed for human transmission.”

“It has infected more than 750 million people worldwide,” Wenstrup added. “Dr. Redfield, one of our witnesses here today, and a virologist has even said he believes Covid-19 had a detour from nature to be educated how to infect humans.”

“Second, the known research occurring in China,” he went on. “We know the Wuhan Institute of Virology was conducting gain of function research on novel bat coronaviruses by creating chimeric viruses, combining two viruses together to test infectivity and infecting mice with these viruses work that former Covid-19 task force coordinator, Dr. Deborah Birx confirmed was in fact gain-of-function contrary to statements by Dr. Fauci.”

“We have learned that the Wuhan Institute has poor biosafety and was conducting this research at only biosafety level two, described as ‘the Wild West’ by Dr. Jeremy Farrar, a virologist from the UK, now chief scientist for the WHO,” he added. “We have learned through a leaked DARPA grant application that with US taxpayer backing the Wuhan Institute proposed inserting furin-cleaved sites into novel coronaviruses.”

I also discuss some of the MORE INSANE stuff in John Thaler’s legal filings that I left out of my column from yesterday. Chickens are being tested for bird flu using phony PCR tests. If one tests positive the entire flock is killed. That is why prices have soared sky high. Backyard chickens have stopped laying eggs. The globalists are coming after Americans who are self-sufficient.

  24. more reparations talk to ensure dems stay in power…this time in Minnesota. and they apologies to Floyd’s family and others…WHAT A CROCK OF SHIT
    entire article
Minnesota Democrats have introduced a $100 million reparations bill that would require the state to issue a formal apology to the family of George Floyd and acknowledge the “systemic racism in the state.”

Introduced by Rep. Samakab Hussein, DFL-St.Paul, the “Minnesota Migration Act” begins with a list of “findings.”

“The legislature finds … that structural institutionalized racism in Minnesota and all of American society has led to overwhelming Black-white disparities in housing, business investment, economic prosperity, health and wellness, life expectancy, and infant mortality,” the bill states.

It claims that reparations for the descendants of slaves are “considered the most effective means of breaking down the societal structure related to power, money, and access to resources and may be the only solution that can be applied intergenerationally that would be an investment in the future and in reducing disparities.”

The bill then provides a list of seven items that the state of Minnesota would be required to apologize for, including the deaths of George Floyd, Philando Castile, and Jamar Clark.

“The state shall issue an apology for the past occurrence of chattel slavery and notable slave owners in Minnesota,” the bill says.

The bill calls for the establishment of a “Minnesota Migration Act Advisory Council,” which would be responsible for studying and distributing reparations in conjunction with the Department of Human Rights.

The bill would appropriate $100 million in fiscal year 2024 from the general fund to a new “Minnesota Migration Act account.”

“The tragic murder of George Floyd by a Minneapolis police officer has stirred a local, national, and international reckoning of the immorality of the racial hierarchy that exists under our democratic institutions and defies the founding values of this nation,” the bill says.

The bill would not prevent the federal government or local jurisdictions from providing their own reparations. St. Paul is moving forward with a plan to do just that.
