Hershey’s Chocolate World
You haven’t been to Hershey until you’ve taken the free Hershey’s Chocolate Tour. The tour − an indoor ride in a Hershey’s Kiss-shaped car − allows visitors to understand how Hershey’s chocolate is made and enjoy a free chocolate bar at the end. Better still is the marketplace at Hershey’s Chocolate World, where you can purchase Hershey’s candy (including treats you don’t typically find at your local food store); candy-themed souvenirs; and signature smoothies, milkshakes and pastries. You can also make a personalized treat at the Create Your Own Candy Bar station, solve a sweet mystery in the 4D Chocolate Movie and enjoy wine and chocolate or beer and chocolate pairings seasonally.
Hersheypark
Hersheypark features 15 roller coasters (and counting) − including Laff Trakk, the first indoor, spinning glow coaster in the U.S. The amusement park also features an outdoor water park and kiddie rides, plus rides and attractions the whole family can enjoy together. When it’s time for a break, order one of the park’s famous King Sized Shakes, available at Simply Chocolate. The one-of-a-kind amusement park is especially magical at Christmas, when the park hosts Hershey Sweet Lights, a 2-mile, illuminated drive-through tour, and Christmas Candylane, where guests can sip hot cocoa and meet Santa and his reindeer.
The Hotel Hershey

The Hotel Hershey is an especially popular destination for romantic escapes and girls getaways. Part of the Historic Hotels of America, the regal resort offers indoor and outdoor swimming pools, golf, tennis, fitness facilities, a kids club, five restaurants and a spa. Guests can choose to stay in beautifully appointed guest rooms, suites or cottages, plus the hotel offers perks like complimentary admission to Hershey Gardens and The Hershey Story’s Museum Experience. Reviewers say the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, and that the food is great.
Hersheypark Stadium

When planning your summertime visit to Hershey, be sure to check the schedule at Hersheypark Stadium where big-name concerts are typically hosted from June through September. The outdoor venue offers food and beverage concessions and − the ultimate splurge − VIP Sky Suites. Hersheypark Stadium has hosted everyone from Dead & Company to the Jonas Brothers. Reviewers say the bathrooms are tiny, but clean and widely available.
ZooAmerica

One of the first attractions to open in Hershey, ZooAmerica was established in 1910. More than a century later, the zoo has expanded to house a couple hundred animals across a variety of species and support several wildlife and environmental conservation efforts. For an extra-special experience, book a behind-the-scenes photography or after-hours tour of the zoo. ZooAmerica is located within Hersheypark and admission to the zoo is included in your park pass.
Hershey Gardens

Stop and smell the roses at Hershey Gardens. That’s exactly what Milton Hershey intended for visitors when he requested to “create a nice garden of roses.” Aside from fragrant flowers featured in seasonal and themed displays, Hershey Gardens offers a whimsical children’s garden with interactive play structures and a butterfly atrium where you can get up close with butterflies − so close they might land right on your head or hands. Guided walks and gardening classes are also available. Reviewers say the gardens are not only beautiful, but also relaxing.
The Falconry Experience
Did you know you could interact with falcons in Hershey? Offered at The Hotel Hershey and available to both guests and the general public, The Falconry Experience features free-flight and simulated hunt demonstrations, and the chance to have birds of prey land right on your hand. Group and family sessions are available, and kids ages 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Reviewers say this is one of the most unique experiences they’ve ever had.

Water Works at Hershey Lodge

Hersheypark isn’t the only place with a water park in the area. Hershey Lodge has an indoor water park called Water Works, with a zero-entry pool, a spray zone, a water-dumping bucket and more. Especially fun for young kids, the water park is exclusive and complimentary to guests of the hotel. Before you book your stay, check out the hotel’s packages, which combine overnight accommodations and Hersheypark tickets in one rate.

‘A lot of people working for the European institutions take drugs’ – Brussels politician mocks EU workers reluctant to move to crime-prone neighborhood — There is also the irony of pro-migrant and pro-refugee EU staffers protesting being moved into a migrant-heavy neighborhood
February 13, 2023

editor: REMIX NEWS author: JOHN CODY
ENTIRE ARTICLE: “EU workers are protesting being moved to a crime-prone neighborhood in Brussels, but one Brussels politician snapped back during a closed-door meeting, saying that EU workers and politicians enjoy doing drugs anyway. Therefore, they should have no objections about being in a neighborhood known for its bustling drug trade.
“A lot of people working for the European institutions take drugs,” said Pascal Smet, who serves as secretary of state for urban planning and European and international relations in the Brussels region. He made the comment on Jan. 23 during a meeting with the European Commission’s Office for Infrastructure and Logistics in Brussels (OIB), which oversees housing for EU staff.
Smet was responding to criticism from trade unions representing EU workers, who are lobbying against a plan to move part of the EU’s staff to Noorderwijk, which is close to the Brussels-North Station in the migrant-heavy neighborhood of Schaerbeek. Smet is pushing for European institutions to move to the area around North Station, which the city of Brussels is looking to invest in. According to him, it would be ideal if the European Commission first moved its members to a building in the neighborhood by the end of 2023.
The unions object to this proposal, arguing that EU workers would be exposed to higher crime levels and drug activity in Noorderwijk. Smet was, however, dismissive of these arguments, saying that the EU’s staff members and politicians are indulging in drugs themselves, making it hypocritical to pass judgment on people in the neighborhood. He also indicated that cocaine is popular with EU workers.
“Drugs are being dealt in the Schuman district, and probably not the same drugs as in the Noorderwijk, but a bit whiter,” he said, referring to cocaine. The Schuman district is where the majority of European institutions are currently located. Representatives of the Renouveau & Démocratie union were unhappy with the remarks. “I don’t understand what he was thinking when he made this remark,” said union president Cristiano Sebastiani.
When asked by Politico what he meant by the statements, Smet responded that they were made partly in jest. “I just said that there are other places in the city where drugs are being dealt. We are one city. There are no neighborhoods that belong to Brussels residents and neighborhoods that belong to Europeans,” he said.
EU staff complaining about moving to a diverse neighborhood? The irony of pro-migrant and pro-refugee EU staffers protesting being moved into the migrant-heavy neighborhood of Schaerbeek is not lost on critics. Many of the EU’s policies have led to the situation facing Brussels. In the area of the Brussels-North Train Station, Schaerbeek Mayor Cécile Jodogne said the crime situation is “no longer tenable,” according to a report from the Brussels Times.
“Drug dealing, homelessness, harassment of women, sex work and overall crime have reached levels that law enforcement struggle to deal with,” according to a report from Bruzz. “The local cops have to fill in for the absent railway police, the Immigration Office does not foresee a solution for underage or problematic transmigrants, and soon the migrants will sleep in the cold again,” the mayor told journalists from Bruzz.
Schaerbeek has one of the largest shares of migrants in Brussels, with the majority of the Muslim population of Moroccan origin — which is the same population that rioted throughout Brussels following several victories for the Moroccan national team during the World Cup. The neighborhood features high rates of unemployment and poverty; however, the area is threatened by a wave of gentrification, which is likely to only accelerate if European institutions and their workers are moved into the area.
Cocaine use in the EU parliament? In 2005, a control of 46 toilets in the European Parliament by a German TV magazine found that 41 revealed traces of cocaine. Furthermore, the amount of cocaine found on the toilets was so high, that it revealed the MEP’s toilets see regular usage of cocaine. The researchers found so much cocaine residue on one toilet that it implied that the user had just finished snorting the drug shortly before the sample was taken.
However, MEPs themselves have their own personal toilets in each of their offices, which means any EU workers who may have been involved with cocaine use in the bathrooms were most likely younger staff members of the MEPs.”

“New York is challenged over law forcing gun owners to inform government of their social media accounts — First Amendment rights.”
By Christina Maas
Posted 2:05 pm
ENTIRE ARTICLE: “The Knight First Amendment Institute and five gun owners’ associations filed an amicus brief at the US Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit in support of a lawsuit challenging a provision in New York’s Concealed Carry Improvement Act that would require applicants to provide the government with a list of their social media accounts. We obtained a copy of the brief for you here. ***https://docs.reclaimthenet.org/2023-02-08-ECF-301-KFAI-Brief.pdf***
The amicus brief argues that the requirement would have a chilling effect on the free speech of applicants for concealed carry permits. The law would require them to provide the state government with a list of social media accounts they have used in the last three years, including pseudonymous accounts.
“While New York plainly has a legitimate interest in regulating concealed carry, its regulations must conform to the First Amendment, and this particular provision of New York’s new gun law does not,” said Knight First Amendment Institute’s attorney Anna Diakun. “Not only has the state failed to demonstrate that the social media registration requirement will actually further its goals, but it has also failed to acknowledge its costs: It will have a profound impact on the right to speak anonymously and associate privately online, and it will invite discrimination by licensing officials.”
Aside from affecting freedom of expression and the right to associate freely online, the groups also argue that the provision would affect marginalized communities who already do not trust law enforcement.
“The state’s dragnet social media registration requirement goes far beyond what is necessary, and will set a dangerous precedent for broad intrusions on individuals’ First Amendment rights,” said Katie Fallow, senior counsel at the Knight Institute. “If the New York law is allowed to stand, one can easily imagine the government imposing these requirements in any number of other situations.”

utter bullshit…at the end of the article the author makes a good point. after making communities cram high rises everywhere to ensure “affordable” housing (aka apartments for ILLEGALS and rent subsidies) will then force restaurants to include a section for “affordable diners”?
FTA
Weed Street neighbor Chris DeMuth Jr. warns Karp’s plan “is to cram over 300 people into a lot currently occupied by a single-family home.”
“If they destroy Weed Street, they could come for your neighborhood next,” says a flier DeMuth circulated to his neighbors.
In fact, Connecticut’s Senate Democrats announced they’re making housing equity “in every community in the state” a top priority.
Democrats seem to believe everyone has a right to the same lifestyle, whether they’ve earned enough to pay the tab or not. So why stop with housing equity?
Government could also compel fine restaurants to set aside a certain number of tables for “affordable” dining. All for the sake of – you got it – dining equity.

i don’t know how they can enforce this. when i worked at the borough, our community was limited to the capacity of our waste water treatment plant. if they increase housing, they will put a drag–unacceptable to EPA standards–on those systems perhaps causing local municipalities to have to build bigger systems–thereby increasing costs for all residents.
AND who was recently buying UP all kinds of single family homes all over the US? companies like blackrock and other developers who are probably drooling over the prospect of turning those single family home into rentals for hundreds at each location…
coincidence, hunh?

‘World’s First’ Unvaccinated Dating Service Launches in Hawaii — In a climate of hostility and medical censorship, founders see a growing need for matching like-minded people”

(Online dating often reinforces the quest to seek the perfect mate rather than focus on self-improvement. (Rendy Novantino/Unsplash)
By Allan Stein February 12, 2023Updated: February 13, 2023
ENTIRE ARTICLE @ EpochTimes: “Nowadays, online dating seems less a game of hit or miss than medical truth or dare, given the deal-breaker question, “Are you vaccinated?” Businesswomen Shelby Thomson and Heather Pyle of Maui, Hawaii, found the online dating game a frustrating experience for the un-jabbed at the height of the COVID-19 vaccine rollout in 2021. Faced with discrimination and censorship, many unvaccinated people lost jobs and relationships because they chose to remain unvaccinated. The un-jabbed “didn’t have the option to say they were unvaccinated” to potential online dating partners, Thomson said. “They were only allowed to be vaccinated. And you had to have this badge in your [online] profile.”
Too often, the unvaccinated would hear on dating sites, “Swipe left”—move on. In May 2021, the two business partners, moms, and best friends launched “Unjected,” a dating app for the unvaccinated, on the Google and Apple stores. “We started seeing people wanting to find partners,” Thomson said of their unvaccinated friends. However, soon after the app’s launch, Thomson and Pyle started receiving hate emails, then negative publicity in the media. Apple decided to remove “Unjected” from the app store, claiming it provided medical disinformation.
“We tailored everything and played this chess game until it [met] Apple standards,” Thomson recalled. But it still wasn’t enough. “It took us until July 31 to get banned.” When Google threatened to follow suit, Thomson and Pyle pulled the plug on both media giants, and Unjected.com went live using the web domain host GoDaddy in August 2021.
“We decided—OK—the big-tech world is not our friend. They don’t want us to exist in this realm. They’ll always go out of their way to ensure we’re censored or taken down.” Thomson said “Unjected” is more than a dating service for the unvaccinated. It’s also a blood bank database and a fertility bank for the unvaccinated. The dating service alone boasts 110,000 subscriptions in 85 countries and 3,000 to 5,000 new clientele every month, Thomson said.
Pandemic of Censorship — “Unjected was founded to help us easier connect in a world of medical discrimination and censorship,” according to Unjected’s online introduction. “We all have a lot in common when it comes to being conscious about our choices, and we think that there are great connections to be made when like-minded people gather in the same social space.”
Thomson said 2021 was the fastest-growing year for the new dating site because so many unvaccinated people had lost their jobs in the pandemic. “The [vaccine] mandates were heavily enforced. Now, we’re seeing the trend differently. People are starting to realize things they didn’t before,” Thomson said. “It’s been interesting to see how many people still find their way in every group. It’s not limited to any age group.” Thomson described the unvaccinated population as a health-conscious group concerned about their children’s future—living and unborn. “We used to get almost 1,000 emails a day before the app launched from people wanting to join. “Occasionally, there’s the keyboard warriors who chime in. ‘You’re killing people. The vaccines are safe.’”
As the world’s “first unvaccinated dating platform,” Thomson said “Unjected” is part of an unvaccinated blood matching coalition that includes the Pureblood Registry, Blessed by His Blood, and Safeblood, founded by Swiss naturopathic physician George Della Pietra. Thomson refers to the coalition as the “Blood Superteam.” “We have a dating service, but we also have profile opportunities for friendships and a community,” Thomson told The Epoch Times.
Non-Partisan Appeal — “We also had an entire section for business listings as well. It was very multi-faceted. It wasn’t just people looking [for a date],” Thomson said. “We want the most dedicated people. It’s time to begin funding ourselves within our community. The support has been incredible.” Thomson said, as “Unjected” co-founder, she has learned to deal with online detractors and threats of censorship. As a professional photographer, she even had clients cancel on her because of her position against the mRNA vaccines. “It even reverberated in my personal life,” said Thomson, whose had her personal and commercial photography pages deleted on Instagram.
One person asked, “Are you that anti-vax person I see all over Google? Is this the same person? Because I don’t want you taking my pictures,” Thomson said. “I’ve always been on the unvaxxed team,” Thomson said. “I do believe a vaccinated child is a patient for life. I was getting kicked out of the doctor’s office long before 2020.”
Ironically, “Unjected” clients include conservative Republicans and liberal Democrats, and many others concerned about the safety of mRNA vaccines. “It’s such a melting pot—also politically speaking, it’s authentic people coming together,” Thomson said. “We have 70-year-old grandmas looking for friends. Many members said they used to be die-hard liberals.”
Like everything else, Thomson said it’s about making choices free of coercion. “I see the need for dating and companionship [among the unvaccinated.] That will always be a kind of uphill growth because people want to find love and families,” Thomson said.”

Catherine Dominguez, Staff writer
Feb. 13, 2023
Updated: Feb. 13, 2023 10:04 a.m.
“A truck driver pulling an empty mobile home trailer was killed Monday morning after the trailer of the truck was struck by a southbound Union Pacific train. The crash caused about 16 of the train’s 30 cargo cars to derail. Law enforcement with several Montgomery County agencies are still on scene. This information from Jason Millsaps with Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management. Scott Engle”
Millsaps said 16 of the train’s 30 cargo cars have derailed but are all sitting upright. He said there is no hazardous materials involved in the incident.
“Union Pacific is on scene assessing the damage and the track but there is no threat to the public,” Millsaps said. “All the cargo is intact.”
