Aquarius

This month we focus on Aquarius in the zodiac.

Element: Air

Color: Light-Blue, Silver

Quality: Fixed

Day: Saturday

Ruler: Uranus

Greatest Compatibility: Leo, Sagittarius

Lucky Numbers: 4, 7, 11, 22, 29

Dates: January 20 – February 18

Aquarius traits

Strengths: Progressive, original, independent, humanitarian

Weaknesses: Runs from emotional expression, temperamental, uncompromising, aloof

Aquarius likes: Fun with friends, risky business, fighting for causes, intellectual conversations.

Aquarius dislikes: Limitations, broken promises, being lonely, dull or boring situations.

You are the innovators of the Zodiac. The best way to understand your sign is to think about the progression through the earth signs of our celestial heavens. Taurus plants the seed, Virgo harvests the seed and Capricorn represents the pinnacle of civilization. What comes after this? The unknown. The yet-to-be discovered. The future.

Aquarius sees the world as it should be, could be or will be. Definitely tuned into the beat of a different drummer, you do things in your own way. There are, however, some Aquarians who act a lot more like Capricorns. Go back and read that section if you donโ€™t identify with the particular personality aspects discussed here.

Freedom is extremely important to you. You are destined to bring the world new ways of doing and looking at things and must have the space to be able to manifest it. Your sense of style is unique and sometimes flamboyant. You can relate to almost all others in a detached way and you are dedicated to bringing humanity a step closer to fair and just. Injustice pushes your buttons like nothing else.

You have many friends and you are conversant in an abundance of topics. You follow your intuition with a sense of purpose and you listen to it even when it seems odd. Somehow you know that it truly provides the best guidance.

You want everyone to be happy. If there is a way that you can make it happen, you will do it. Like a mama duck, you sometimes have people following behind you and seeking your inspiration. You are very good at leading groups and can often be found teaching unusual topics. Friends know that they can look to you for upcoming trends.

Aquarius Friends and Family

Friends – No matter their ability to communicate, Aquarius representatives need time to build closeness with a friend and they will unconsciously do a lot only to avoid being emotional and vulnerable around others. They are willing to self-sacrifice but only if absolutely necessary, and by the time they jump in to help, a person in trouble will probably realize that they never needed help to begin with. They need creative friends with integrity and a strong intellect.

Family – Theses individuals have certain expectations from their family. Even though it might not be their place to search for answers their parents should seek, they will do so anyway, and more often than not impose their will on family members from the best possible intention โ€“ to make them get along. The sense of duty they have with some relatives wonโ€™t keep them around for very long, for this, as all emotional blackmail, hardly ever touches the soul of an Aquarius.

Aquarius Career and Money

This is a sign that brings enthusiasm, excitement, and innovations to their workplace and has a remarkable ability of exploitation of their imagination for business purposes. Their high intellect combined with their willingness to share their talents, inspires many people in their lives. They are a visionary who likes to engage in humane activities, and needs to work in a place that supports better circumstances for endangered groups of people.

Finances of this zodiac sign can be spent on various risks but also held on to, and all they need to have in order to create a saving zone out of their life, is to give them something to look forward to. They are well adapted to their feel for style and are not afraid to show it, which is why their colors shining in the outer world make all the difference for their emotional state. They feel extremely good in professions such as piloting, paragliding and photography, but also make excellent programmers, ingenious mathematicians and scientists, and need to show their personality with not strict guidelines for the way to do so.

    1. Morning! Up to 15 this morning – warmer weather is headed our way. Hmmm…..a lot of these traits sure fit me…..I guess I would be considered on the “cusp” between Aquarius and Pisces, leaning more towards the first.

As President, I took the most dramatic action of any administration to curtail Chinaโ€™s ability to conduct espionage in the United States โ€” and when Iโ€™m back in the White House, those efforts will be expanded in a very, very big way. Instead of hunting down Republicans, a reformed FBI and Justice Department will be hunting down Chinese spies!

Ilhan Omar Blames Her Removal From Foreign Affairs Committee On The Jews

WASHINGTON, D.C. โ€” After being removed from the Foreign Affairs Committee over anti-semitic remarks, Representative Ilhan Omar laid the blame on a secret cabal of Jews working against her.

โ€œThey say Iโ€™m being removed for antisemitism, which is the exact sort of excuse youโ€™d expect from a power-hungry Jewish cabal,โ€ cried Ms. Omar. โ€œThis is all the Jewsโ€™ fault.โ€

Democrats screamed in fury at the announcement of Ms. Omarโ€™s removal, enraged that Republicans refused to give open hatred of the Jewish people a pass.

โ€œIf she were white, that would be one thing โ€“ but sheโ€™s a Muslim woman of color! Theyโ€™re allowed to hate the Jews!โ€ shouted Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, weeping. โ€œThis is like January 6 all over again!โ€

    1. How about disciplining that fricking bus driver who allowed this to happen on his/her bus??!!?? And the Miami/Dad police just let the punk go with a citation initially??!!?? What BS is this?!? Just watching this on Tucker from last night….they talked to the Mom of the kids who were attacked – doing ok but very frightened, of course.

        1. Sis would have been up out of her seat, snatching that punk and shaking him until his teeth rattled, then plop his butt on the seat right behind her, within arm’s reach. When they got to his house, she would march him up to the house, tell his parents and warn them he would not be allowed on the bus if he did it again – period. Done!

ย Included in the $1.7 trillion omnibus package supported by Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va, was a provision to give $200 million to the Appalachian Regional Commission, an agency headed by Manchinโ€™s wife, Gayle.

The Appalachian Regional Commission operates as an economic development partnership between the federal government and 13 Appalachian states, distributing infrastructure grants in those states.

Its head, Gayle Manchin, makes $160,000 in her role as its federal co-chair, according to a Fox News report. She was confirmed by the Senate in 2021.

The $200 million in funding is a $5 million increase from last year.

โ€œThe West Virginia senator previously helped craft earlier legislation, following his wifeโ€™s 2021 appointment, that allocated $1 billion in funding over five years for the ARC,โ€ Fox reported. Sen. Manchin was a key Democratic negotiator of the 2021 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which doubled the commissionโ€™s funding level.

Gayle Manchin defended the spending increase in 2021, claiming this funding is necessary to, โ€œmore adequately meet the overwhelming needs of communities impacted by job losses resulting from the decline in the coal industry. These grants will be instrumental to the long-term diversification and economic growth in Appalachia.โ€

This isnโ€™t the only instance of federal money being sent to a family member in the omnibus bill. Rep. Jim Cooper sent $2.7 million to Metro Nashville, where his brother John Cooper is mayor. Sen. Ben Ray Lujan secured $152 million for his home state of New Mexico, where Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham is a distant relative.

  8. “Historical Failures of Public Health Authorities — The Chloroquine Wars Part 19”

    Mathew Crawford

“I would rather have questions than can’t be answered than answers that can’t be questioned.” -Richard Feynman

This article was originally published at RTE on May 11, 2021. Other articles in the Chloroquine Wars series can be found here.

Throughout the pandemic, the motto of “follow the science” seems not to encourage the healthy debate among the large body of thousands of scientists working on COVID-related research, who have a wide variety of opinions according to the various experiences. What it does do is keep eyeballs pointed where media points them—in polar unity toward political leaders and public health authorities.

Public health emerged from, but is not simply, “the recognized authorities from within the scientific community.” The scientific community doesn’t really take part in the selection process, and it is unclear exactly how nominal its input might be. If scientists I know are representative of the broader community, many of them are perpetually disgusted by it.

To best understand the evolution of public health…authoritarianism…in its present day form, let’s take a walk down the history of public health challenges.

During the Black Death of the fourteenth century that killed tens or hundreds of millions around the world (but primarily in Europe), many medical “experts” became caught up in the shared delusion that poisoned air (miasma) caused what has most often since been explained as bubonic plague. This delusion may have kept doctors from testing teas and extracts that might have had balm of Gilead-like antibiotic properties, or otherwise recognizing the conditions under which the illness thrived. Attempted solutions instead focused on the miasma theory including aromatherapy, washing with pee and poop, rubbing wounds with live chickens, and when all else failed, killing some Jews.

The bubonic plague popped up in more localized epidemics continually for centuries in Europe, eventually leading to the seventeenth century plague doctor costumes that were the first attempt at biohazard suits. The function of the beak was to store a combination of herbs that were sometimes even set afire, making the costume something like a pipe smoking experience. To this day, neither the FDA nor any other health organization has run RCTs to “prove” the ineffectiveness of the plague doctor outfits, so they could perhaps see a resurgence as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.”

EXCERPT: “A 14-year-old girl is being sex trafficked by MS-13 gang members in a housing project in the Hunterโ€™s Point neighborhood of San Francisco, say private investigators working for an anti-child trafficking nonprofit organization. Public has learned the girlโ€™s name and interviewed her grandmother, who said the girl, an orphan traumatized by the death of her parents, fled foster care last summer.

โ€œEverybody’s lied to her and let her down,โ€ said Vic Lacey, the Director of Investigations for the nonprofit Special Operations Finding Kids. โ€œWe have informants who have told us outright that she was being controlled and exploited by MS-13 gang members.โ€

The girl was just 13 when the sex trafficking allegedly began. Last summer, Californiaโ€™s Child Protective Services issued a no-bail warrant for the girlโ€™s rescue and yet, on the evening of January 11, officers at the San Francisco Bayview Police Station failed to act on urgent information provided by the Special Operations investigators.

Former SFPD Gang Investigator Paul Lozada, who is working with Lacey and Special Operations, said he called the SFPD on January 11 and spoke to two supervising officers on two separate work shifts. Both promised to send a patrol car to bring the girl into custody. But when Lozada followed up, he said he was told that the stationโ€™s patrol units were tied up responding to โ€œpriority calls.โ€

Lacey said he then called Child Protective Services, a state agency, but the call went to voicemail. โ€œNobody called us back the whole night,โ€ said Lacey. A Special Operations board member named Blair Maus told us she also tried to reach CPS that night with the same result. After failing to reach CPS, Lacey said he asked Lozada to go to the Bayview Police station directly.

(Vic Lacey, Director of Investigations, Special Operations Finding Kids, February 1, 2023 (Photo Credit: Leighton Woodhouse)
Lozada said he spoke to one of the officers who told him, โ€œWeโ€™re too busy,โ€ even though officers were sitting around the computer, โ€œjabbering,โ€ said Lozada, and doing reports. โ€œWe were crushed by this,โ€ said Lacey, โ€œbecause we lost her.โ€ Added Lozada, โ€œI looked at them like, very disappointed, but I’m a retired sergeant now. I can’t yell at โ€˜em.โ€

Reached by telephone last night, the head of operations for the San Francisco Police Department, Assistant Police Chief David Lazar, expressed concern about what had happened. โ€œItโ€™s unacceptable,โ€ he said. โ€œIf that were anyoneโ€™s child, would you say, โ€˜Weโ€™re busy, weโ€™re writing a report?โ€™ Nothing other than a homicide would trump this. I have a 15-year-old daughter. Thatโ€™s somebodyโ€™s child. We have to go and get her.โ€

  12. โ€œDoD Adds โ€œCognitive Securityโ€ to Governmental Disinformation Campaignโ€
By Wendi Strauch Mahoney -February 2, 2023

EXCERPT: โ€œA 59-page report from the U.S. Government and Accountability Office (GAO) underpins much of the updated information policy and guidelines that are now present in all branches of the U.S. military. This report is the big โ€œtellโ€ about the direction of the DoDโ€™s thought process about the โ€œopportunities and threats to the DoDโ€™s national security mission.โ€ Familiar mis-,dis-, and mal-information terms like the โ€œcognitive dimensionโ€ of the information environment as well as โ€œcognitive security,โ€ is discussed. The goal of the report is to help our DoD โ€œprotect the information environment.โ€ GAO administered questionnaires to the leadership of 25 DoD organizations โ€œasking about the information environmentโ€™s effect on their organizations.โ€ The performance audit was conducted from January 2021 to September 2022.

UncoverDC has reported extensively on the governmentโ€™s incursions into the domain of information and free speech. Cognitive infrastructure is now a common and consistent construct in the lexicon of agencies like CISA, the FBI, the DOJ, etc. While it is understandable for the DoD to want to protect our national security interests, trust in our government is at an all-time low. Many Americans feel they are no longer able to freely digest and disseminate information that agrees with their worldview. In many cases, as understood most recently because of the Twitter files and the seminal free speech case, Missouri v. Biden, Americans realize that much of the information on the internet is and has been highly controlled and non-conforming perspectives suppressed.

    GAO Report: Cognitive Security
Featured prominently on the first page of the report is the now omnipresent mis-, dis-, and mal-information campaign. The GAO investigation found a โ€œproliferation of ubiquitous [and malign] information, misinformation, disinformation, and malinformationโ€ that has โ€œprompted defense experts to begin examining the concept of cognitive security.โ€ Thus is introduced a relatively new term into the governmentโ€™s national defense lexiconโ€” โ€œcognitive security.โ€ Cognitive security is a subset of โ€œcognitive infrastructure.โ€ This type of infrastructure has often been weaponized against Americans on social media platforms and in the media.

Cognitive resilience is another widely used term to describe a teachable process that helps โ€œcultivate critical thinking and media literacy through education, as well as the development of tools that can provide real-time identification and defense for people and organizations encountering sophisticated influence efforts.โ€

On one hand, the threat to our national security of poorly vetted information is real in the now information-rich virtual environment. Foreign actors work daily to infiltrate and influence public opinion, so it would not be far-fetched to believe they have their sights trained on military operations. The GAO highlights a number of โ€œcyberspace threats, information or intelligence collection threats, influence threats, and EMS threats that adversely affect DoD personnel and capabilities,โ€ as featured in the graphic below:

The GAO report references a number of concepts and technologies that are now making their way into public awareness, such as fifth-generation wireless technologies that are โ€œengineered to greatly increase the speed and responsiveness of wireless networks.โ€ Such technology is increasingly the building block of an โ€œextended realityโ€ and โ€œThe Internet of Thingsโ€ (internet-capable devices like phones and wearable devices). These technologies, according to the report, can have โ€œpositive benefits or negative consequences for the DoD.โ€ These tools have the potential to distribute information rapidly, which impacts the ability to do damage control should bad information be disseminated. As such, all military branches must be properly and uniformly trained in a relatively new โ€œdoctrineโ€ that reflects the โ€œfundamental nature of information in joint operations.โ€

    1. “Notably, the same section actually addresses โ€œubiquitous public informationโ€ that โ€œcan foreshadow a military deployment.โ€ It shows some of the ways social media can influence American sentiment. Paired with their captured media partners, coordinated governmental social media messaging can exert influence the public on almost any given campaign. Just look at our current financial and operational involvement in Ukraine. Nothing related to our involvement there has been fully justified by President Biden or Congress to the American people. And yet, here we are. The campaign for Ukraine is reminiscent of the โ€œWe are in this togetherโ€ messaging that was so prevalent during the 2020 pandemic. The result isโ€”in many casesโ€”Americans who fly Ukrainian instead of American Flags outside their homes and on their social media profiles with remarkable conformity.”

      —————
Each branch of the armed forces has its own โ€œComponent-specific set of social media regulationsโ€ that help create an โ€œenvironment where trusted information is shared,โ€ as stated in the social media handbook for Marines. The guidance for Marines, for example, and in the words of General David H. Berger, Commandant of the Marine Corps encourages Marines to โ€œcommunicate with precision and consistency based on a common focus and a unified message.โ€ Likewise, Navy Units must register their official websites and/or social media channels to communicate official information. Naturally, โ€œoperational securityโ€ is a key reason such guidelines have been put in place. Official online accounts in all branches of the DoD must be identified as a government organization if the platform allows that identification.

The discussion here is by no means exhaustive. Experience tells us that there is much hidden when it comes to the ways our government is handling information in the public domain. While the DoD absolutely has a right and duty to protect its assets and the American people, there are breadcrumbs laced throughout its guidelines and policies that give pause and reason for concern. There is no doubt a slippery slope down which we are rapidly sliding. There are many warning signs indicating that the disinformation the DoD and other agencies are worried about does not necessarily conform with Americansโ€™ deeply seated desire to think and speak freely.”

(Russian MiG-31 fighter jet carrying a Kinzhal missile takes off. (Russian Defense Ministry Press Service via AP, File)

ENTIRE ARTICLE @ RemixNews: “Russian General Yevgeny Buzhinsky said NATO air bases would become a justified target of an attack if used by Ukrainian forces; he listed bases in Poland and Romania. Recently, a coalition of countries including Poland, the U.K., Germany, and the U.S. decided to donate Western-made tanks to Ukraine. Signals are appearing that Kyivโ€™s next goal could be acquiring Western fighter jets and long-range weapons.

French President Emmanuel Macron stated on Monday that France does not rule out the possibility of delivering fighter jets to Ukraine. He said the criteria for doing so would be that such armaments must be needed by Ukraine, it must not weaken the French armyโ€™s defense capabilities, and it must not escalate the war with Russia. He stressed that Ukraine had not yet requested the donation of jets and a decision on the matter would be taken based on formal motions instead of rumors.

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that Poland is consulting with allies on further Ukraine aid and did not exclude the possibility of donating aircraft to Kyiv. President Joe Biden, however, said the U.S. would not donate F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.

Russian propaganda is not idle. The possible aircraft delivery was mentioned by Yevgeny Buzhinsky, a Russian general and former chief of the international cooperation department at the Russian MoD, who threatened that โ€œNATO airbases would become a justified target for Russian forces if made available for Ukrainian jets.โ€

โ€œIf NATO countries decide to involve their air forces, they could start operating from nearby NATO airbases, in Romania and Poland, for example,โ€ continued Buzhinsky, adding that airbases โ€œbecome a target that can be defeated legally from the viewpoint of international law.โ€

  15. Entire Article @ NewsMax: “The Memphis Police Department fired a white officer Friday for violations made during the fatal arrest of Tyre Nichols. Preston Hemphill is the sixth officer fired during the investigation into the Jan. 7 arrest of Nichols, a 29-year-old Black man who was brutally beaten and died in a Tennessee hospital three days later. Five other officers, all Black, had been fired and charged with second-degree murder in Nichols’ death.

An unidentified officer has been suspended. Hemphill had been suspended since the start of the departmentโ€™s investigation. Also, emergency medical technicians Robert Long and JaMichael Sandridge and fire Lt. Michelle Whitaker were fired in connection with Nichols’ death. The licenses of Long and Sandridge were suspended Friday during a meeting of the Tennessee Emergency Medical Services Board in Nashville for not providing on-scene medical treatment to Nichols.

Memphis police officers used a stun gun, baton and their fists as they pummeled Nichols during the nighttime arrest after he was pulled over on suspicion of reckless driving. From body camera footage of the initial stop, Hemphill, who had been with the department since 2018, is heard saying he stunned Nichols with a Taser and then declaring, “I hope they stomp his a–.”

The Memphis Police Department, in a release posted on its Twitter account, said after an internal investigation, Hemphill was fired for five violations: personal conduct; truthfulness; compliance with Taser regulations; compliance with uniform regulations; and a policy on inventory and processing recovered property.

No further details, including whether Hemphill will face charges, were given. The department said the internal investigation is ongoing and that multiple police officers are under investigation.”

  16. Entire Article @ Newsmax: “A leaked email Friday confirmed that, after several years of operation, a Harvard University would close a project that tracked so-called social media misinformation, The Hill reported. The Harvard Kennedy School’s Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics, and Public Safety will end its Technology and Social Change Project by the summer of 2024 and fire its lead, Joan M. Donovan.

Shorenstein Center Director Nancy Gibbs made the announcement to members of the center’s advisory board one day after news of the decision was provided to The Harvard Crimson. HKS spokesperson James F. Smith told the school paper on Thursday that HKS Dean Douglas W. Elmendorf forced out Donovan, who has taught at the school as an adjunct lecturer, because she was not a tenure-track professor.

“The Technology and Social Change project is winding down โ€” through an extended transition โ€” because it does not have intellectual and academic leadership by a full HKS faculty member, as required of all long-term research and outreach projects at HKS,” Smith stated. Staff members at HKS also said that Donovan would undergo spending restraints and not be allowed to raise new funding. In addition, the project is not allowed to hire any new researchers.

Gibbs’ email indicated Donovan would retain her position until next year with TASC, exploring “media manipulation as a means to control public conversation, derail democracy, and disrupt society,” fully funded over that period.

The school plans to continue researching misinformation through other projects, specifically the Misinformation Review and the Public Interest Tech Lab’s Facebook archive project.”
