Dolphins are amazing mammals!  I visited Surfer Today to find 50 fun facts about them.

Dolphins evolved from a four-legged terrestrial animal that started spending more time in the water around 50 million years ago.

The name “dolphin” comes from the Greek words “delphis” and “delphus,” meaning “fish with a womb”.

There are around 40 different species of dolphins swimming in the oceans of the world.

Dolphins range in size from 5.6 feet to 31 feet long and weigh between 110 pounds and 10 tonnes, depending on the type of animal and species.

The killer whale is the largest member of the oceanic dolphin family.

The most common species – the bottlenose dolphin – inhabits all regions of the planet, except for the Antarctic and Arctic oceans.

The differences between dolphins and porpoises can be found in their body shapes, fins and faces.

Dolphins live in relatively shallow waters, but they can dive up to 900 feet.

Dolphins are piscivores and eat around 35 pounds of fish every day, including squid and crustaceans.

Dolphins don’t drink water because they get it from the food they eat.

Although dolphins have teeth, they swallow food without chewing it.

Dolphins have two stomachs – one for storing food and another one for digestion.

Dolphins have a skeleton with light, highly flexible, yet weaker bones compared with land animals.

Dolphins are “equipped” with highly effective healing processes, which means that they don’t hemorrhage to death easily.

Dolphins are believed to have the longest memory in the animal kingdom.

Dolphins use their echolocation/sonar for navigating through the water and obstacles and hunting prey.

Dolphins’ hearing system is so sophisticated and advanced that even a blind individual can survive.

Dolphins have no sense of smell and do not have a good sense of taste.

Dolphins can use their noses to kill sharks.

Dolphins have smooth skin to reduce drag while swimming – their outer skin layer can regenerate in only two hours.

Although dolphins have lungs and breathe like humans, they can’t live on land because they become dehydrated and overheat out of the water.

Dolphins sleep eight hours per day and spend the rest of the day swimming.

Dolphins typically resurface to breathe three to five times per minute, but they can hold their breath for up to 15 minutes.

Dolphins sleep with only one brain hemisphere at a time, in slow-wave sleep, to maintain enough consciousness to breathe and to watch for possible predators.

During the gestation period, female dolphins carry one baby at a time, but sometimes they may deliver twins.

After giving birth, female dolphins carry their calves for between 11 and 18 months.

Dolphin mothers feed their babies with extremely rich and fat milk.

The average life expectancy of a dolphin is 25 years, but they can live up to 50.

Dolphins are highly intelligent marine creatures – they can learn, play, socialize, and grieve just like humans.

Dolphins are altruistic individuals and tend to stay with ill or injured individuals for prolonged periods of time.

Dolphins communicate through whistles, clicks, and other nonverbal forms of communication.

Dolphins call out to each other by their names.

Dolphins usually travel in pods of up to 1,000 individuals.

Dolphins are not monogamous.

Dolphins usually swim at between 3 and 8 miles per hour, but their top speed is around 20 miles per hour.

A dolphin can travel up to 60 miles per day.

Dolphins not only know, but they also enjoy catching and surfing waves like humans do.

Scientists have not yet understood why dolphins jump out of the water – some of them leap over 20 feet in the air.

Dolphins have few enemies – only the great white shark, tiger shark, dusky shark, and the bull shark can be considered serious threats.

Dolphins only bite if they’re furious, angry, frustrated, anxious, or afraid.

Dolphins are trained by military forces to spot mines and find lost humans.

Japan, Peru, Solomon Islands, and the Faroe Islands are known for killing dolphins for human consumption.

The coat of arms of Anguilla and Romania feature dolphins.

India, Hungary, Costa Rica, and Chile have declared dolphins “non-human persons,” meaning that they can’t be captured and used for entertainment purposes, for example, in dolphinariums.

The desert city of Petra, established as early as 312 BC in Jordan, has images of dolphins carved in the rocks.

A group of dolphins is named a “school.” Female dolphins are “cows,” male dolphins are “bulls,” and juveniles are “calves”.

According to several animal welfare organizations, there are around 3,000 dolphins in captivity worldwide.

The most famous movies about dolphins are “Flipper,” “The Day of the Dolphin,” “Zeus and Roxanne,” “The Cove,” and “Dolphin Tale”.

In 2010, director Greg Huglin released a 20-minute film called “Surfing Dolphins,” featuring some of the world’s finest wave riding performers.

Nana and Nellie are the longest-living dolphins on record. They lived 42 and 61 years, respectively.

    1. Good morning! Cloudy, gray day here, too 13 degrees. The hoar frost is really heavy this morning. I’ve always wanted to swim with dolphins. I thought elephants had the longest memory in the animal world. I just watched the movie Dolphin Tale in the last year. I was surfing the guide and happened to run across it. They truly are loving, caring animals.

  1. from tcth…ultra maggot brought home classified docs when he was a senator and still had them.

    FTA
According to multiple media report [See Here and See Here] Joe Biden’s attorneys coordinated a friendly FBI search their client’s Delaware residence. Lawyers for Biden were present and overseeing the FBI review of the home, when additional classified documents were discovered.

Interestingly, the Biden lawyers seemingly admit their client had been taking classified documents home for quite some time. According to their statement (emphasis mine):

“DOJ took possession of materials it deemed within the scope of its inquiry, including six items consisting of documents with classification markings and surrounding materials, some of which were from the President’s service in the Senate and some of which were from his tenure as Vice President. DOJ also took for further review personally handwritten notes from the vice-presidential years.” (link)

  5. new docs were once in Chinatown? could this be any more obvious? LOL
    FTA
The Daily Mail is reporting that there was an additional location where classified documents were stored before they went to the Penn Biden Center. The documents were stored in a transition office near the White House. Then they went to a temporary Penn Biden space in downtown Washington, D.C. before eventually ending up at the Penn Biden think tank. The temporary space was located in Chinatown.

The documents were moved in the summer of 2017 after spending about six months at a government transition office near the White House once Biden left the vice presidency.

The space, in DC’s Chinatown neighborhood, was overseen by the Penn Biden Center while its prized location near the Capitol was being readied. The office had its formal opening, attended by Biden, in 2018.

‘Everything was just moved en masse to temporary space, then moved to Penn Biden,’ the person told DailyMail.com.

So, we have a new layer to this story that continues to drip, drip, drip out. The question remains – who took the classified documents in the first place? And, why did he or she do it? It looks more and more like Biden is scapegoating a staffer who was in charge of loading up the boxes when Biden left the White House. But, why were classified documents laying around in Biden’s office in the White House, to be confused with personal papers and documents? Why didn’t the National Archives keep track of the missing documents that have now been found six years later?

Some are pointing fingers at Kathy Chung, a former administrative assistant who oversaw the packing and shipping of Biden’s documents in 2017. It turns out that Chung was recommended for that job by Hunter Biden. He advised his father to hire her. She and Hunter had worked together years ago at the Department of Commerce. Former Delaware Senator Ted Kaufman also spoke to Biden about hiring her. Kaufman is among a trio of Democratic senators she worked for in the past. Hmm.

  7. “The FAA has very quietly tacitly admitted that the EKGs of pilots are no longer normal. We should be concerned. Very concerned. After the vaccine rolled out, the FAA secretly widened the EKG parameter range for pilots so they wouldn’t be grounded. It looks like the vax gave at least 50M Americans heart damage.”

  8. EXCLUSIVE: I just put the FAA in a “no win” situation. If there is not a PROPER investigation, heads should roll. I just had a nice chat with Federal Air Surgeon Dr. Susan E. Northrup. By the end, she no longer can say, “I didn’t know.” If she doesn’t act now, she should be prosecuted for jeopardizing pilot lives.

    Steve Kirsch

(Susan Northrup is the current US Federal Air Surgeon, the first woman to hold this position. I predict she may not be in that position much longer if she keeps looking the other way while pilots are being incapacitated. Will she keep her word to me? Or will she keep trying to hide the truth?)

EXCERPT: “Executive summary — At 10:15am on Saturday Jan 21, 2023, I made a call to the private cell phone of the Federal Air Surgeon of the FAA Dr. Susan Northrup. The call lasted 2 minutes. In the call, I referred to the news article where she basically said that she had seen no evidence that the COVID vaccines have incapacitated pilots.

At first I thought she was lying, but it turns out she was telling the truth. She’s seen no evidence because even though she admitted on the call that she knew about Bob Snow, nobody at the FAA ever bothered to call him. Ever!!! So they’ve never seen the evidence because they deliberately refused to look at the evidence!! Get it? That’s how science works.

So I asked Dr. Northrup if she was interested in speaking with pilots who have been disabled by the COVID vaccine. She indicated she was. After all, what could she say at that point? She had to say “yes.” It’s troubling she hasn’t talked to Bob Snow. I have talked to Bob Snow. I interviewed him for my Rumble channel even though it isn’t my job to investigate these incidents. Check out my interview with Josh Yoder and my interview with Bob Snow.

In other words, I’ve done more to investigate this incident than the FAA. Captain Snow narrowly averted crashing the plane, but she never talked to him to assess whether the vax might have been involved. Seriously?!?! I offered to put her in touch with Captain Snow and she accepted. So I emailed her (using her official work email at the FAA) a list of pilots, their phone numbers. She now has the contact info for these pilots:

    1. Josh Yoder (head of US Freedom Flyers who is in touch with dozens of vaccine injured pilots)
    2. Bob Snow (American Airlines)
    3. Kevin Stillwagon (Delta Airlines)
    4. Cody Flint (4 doctors have determined he was incapacitated in flight due to the COVID vaccine)
    5. John C. Lamb (66 yr old commercial aviator with no previous heart problems. On Jan 6, his first class medical was deferred, due to 2nd AB block, Mobitz type 2. His wife had a heart attack 8 days after her Moderna shot. See this story for more details).

More importantly, in that email, I also invited her to host a public roundtable at the FAA inviting people on both sides of the “safe and effective” narrative so that the FAA could learn the truth. I just talked to Senator Ron Johnson and I can assure you that he’d be DELIGHTED to help her assemble a roundtable of doctors on both sides of the narrative to brief top FAA officials on the risks of these vaccines.

And I offered to publish her revised statement to the public so we can get the truth out that the vaccines are NOT safe and are disabling pilots. Here’s the kicker. The corruption at the FAA runs deep. Did you know that nobody at the FAA has ever called Bob Snow? How can the FAA investigate this incident without ever even talking to the pilot?”

  9. How To Make A Rude Person Instantly Regret Insulting You
OK- this video is a reminder to all of us, that we do not have to accept people being rude, putting words in our mouth or trying to lay a trap – to “get” us.

I often speak with journalists and sometimes I am confronted by people attacking me (which certainly can be painful) and I have sat through interviews where I should have just walked away. So, today – I am posting not a funny video but one that I enjoyed for the content and the reminder.

  10. mass shooting in Monterey CA…10 killed
    FTA

MONTEREY PARK, Calif. (AP) — A gunman opened fire at a Los Angeles-area ballroom dance studio following a Lunar New Year celebration, killing 10 people and setting off a manhunt for the suspect in the nation’s fifth mass killing this month.

Another 10 people were wounded and were taken to hospitals, where their conditions ranged from stable to critical, Capt. Andrew Meyer of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department said Sunday.

The scene unfolded late Saturday in Monterey Park, a city of about 60,000 people on the eastern edge of Los Angeles that is composed mostly of Asian immigrants from China or first-generation Asian Americans.

When officers arrived at the studio around 10:30 p.m., people were “pouring out of the location screaming,” Meyer said. He said officers then went into the ballroom and found victims as firefighters treated the wounded.

Meyer gave no description of the male suspect or the weapon he used and offered no explanation for why police gave no information on the shooting for hours while the assailant apparently remained on the run.

He said it was too early in the investigation to know if the gunman knew anyone at the ballroom or if it was a hate crime.

Silk: As soon as Diamond hung up the phone, she said to me, “I can’t breathe.” It was sudden, out of nowhere and no warning. I got her to the kitchen table, opened up the back door so that she can get some air. And, each breath was less and less and less, until her eyes became a stare… My husband and I followed the 911 instructions from the lady. We laid her. Like they told us to lay her flat. They said do CPR. And it was one-two-three-four, one-two-three-four, one-two-three-four… My husband and I alternated and kept going and going and going, until the emergency truck came into the yard and the EMS came into the house. They did everything that they could.

So what I want to say to everybody is don’t you dare call me a conspiracy theorist. Because I saw it happen. I saw how it happened. I was there when it happened and it happened suddenly. I want America to wake up and pay attention. Something ain’t right. It’s time to investigate what’s really going on here! And get some answers to why our people of falling dead suddenly.

Silk then went on to say, “Instead of asking if Americans are vaxxed or unvaxxed the real question is are they being poisoned.”

    FTA
Roy’s bill, H.R.29 – Border Safety and Security Act of 2023 is deemed controversial. More than 250 human rights, refugee, and immigration organizations sent a letter to members of Congress opposing the bill on January 12.

H.R.29 empowers the Secretary of Homeland Security Administration to eject asylum seekers, even when they have credible claims of fears of persecution, using executive discretion regarding detention capacities, imposes visa requirements, and allows state attorneys general to sue for lack of enforcement of these measures.

Aaron Reichlin-Melnick, Policy Director of the American Immigration Council, called the bill “a total end to asylum,” writing:

The first border bill the House GOP are set to vote on would impose permanent mandatory expulsions at EVERY border/airport for EVERYONE without a visa or valid entry document—even a child crossing alone or a baby found abandoned, no exceptions. It would be a total end to asylum.

Not only does the bill REQUIRE the end to asylum until literally every single person crossing can be detained (which is currently physically impossible), it also gives DHS a permanent discretionary authority to end asylum at every border.

      FTA
Kinney County, Texas, Sheriff Brad Coe is pleading for help from his colleagues in three states as his department is overwhelmed by the surge in illegal foreign nationals who are “wreaking havoc in our communities.”

Coe sent letters to sheriffs in all 254 counties of Texas, all 75 counties in Arkansas and all 77 counties in Oklahoma asking for help to defend his residents from the surge in illegal immigration.

The border crisis “has made all counties a border county,” he argues, and it’s “imperative that we stand ready here at the border in order to protect and serve.”

Kinney County was the first to issue a disaster declaration in Texas, on April 21, 2021. It also was the first to declare an invasion on July 5, 2022. One of the smallest, rural counties in Texas, it shares 16 miles of border with Mexico.

As mostly single young military age men enter Texas illegally through ports of entry and intentionally evade law enforcement, they commit a range of crimes, he said, including engaging in shootouts with law enforcement. DPS state troopers and sheriffs from Goliad and Galveston counties have provided assistance, but the volume of men coming through mostly from Central American countries is too much for them to apprehend, he said.

  15. “Yoko Ono Booked To Yodel At Next Year’s WEF Summit”
    WORLD · Jan 22, 2023 · BabylonBee.com

“DAVOS — The World Economic Forum has announced a follow-up to this year’s smash musical hit, booking Yoko Ono to yodel for three straight hours.

“I don’t know how you top this year’s performance, but a yodeling marathon might just be the ticket,” said organizer Klaus Schwab. “I for one can’t wait to hear Ms. Ono, presuming we’re not all dead from climate change.”

Though ostensibly a meeting about global warming, the World Economic Forum surprised attendees with one of the most dynamic musical performances in a generation. “I don’t even know what happened, I think I blacked out,” said former Vice President Al Gore. “She was making some sort of bird noise mixed with the sound of screeching tires, and gosh – the beauty just overwhelmed me. This is why I do what I do.”

In addition to yodeling, Mr. Schwab is hoping to add an all-cricket concession stand for next year’s concert. “Did you know you can brew beer with crickets?” asked Mr. Schwab, showing off his glass. “Well you can’t, but you can pour a bunch of booze into a jar of crickets and call it beer. You down a jug of that and chow on come cricket chips while listening to Yoko Ono – you’re in for one heck of a night!”

At publishing time, Mr. Schwab announced that next year’s $20,000 conference fee would include tickets to Ms. Ono’s concert as well as one free “Hail Hydra” bumper sticker.”

    LIFE · Jan 21, 2023 · BabylonBee.com

“NEW YORK, NY — Peloton has released an innovative new laundry rack that looks exactly like their original exercise bike, for the low cost of five hundred dollars.

“This product now allows customers to skip the brief phase of using the bike, and get right to piling laundry all over it,” said Peleton CEO Dave Needham. “At half the cost of a functional bike, we believe it’s a real steal.”

The new product launch will be accompanied by a commercial blitz, featuring a terrified woman receiving the laundry rack as a present from her husband. “We think a husband gifting his wife some detergent and a laundry rack will really hit home,” said marketing director Ashley Monahan. “This will build beautifully off our previous commercials showing a husband kindly telling his wife that she’s fat and needs to get in shape.”

The new Peloton laundry rack includes a subscription option, where instructors will continue offering nonsensical platitudes while encouraging customers to make their children cross-dress. “With this new launch, we are still staying true to the core of what Peloton is as a company,” said Mr. Needham. “Whether getting in a workout or throwing your XXL sweater on the handlebars, rest assured Peloton will always be there to encourage Satanic ideology.”

At publishing time, Peloton had been hit with another class-action lawsuit after dozens of bikes collapsed under the weight of laundry.”
