On Dasher…On Dancer…

It’s hard not to think about a reindeer without picturing Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, well you know the rest, no matter what time of the year it is.

But there’s so much more to reindeer than just the fictional ones!

For instance:

The Latin name for reindeer is rangifer tarandus.

In North America, reindeer are commonly known as caribou. Caribou is a French word, meaning “snow shoveler”.

They are generally native to Arctic and Subarctic regions.

Both genders grow antlers!

The antlers of an adult male fall off in December, whereas the young males lose theirs early spring. Females will lose theirs in the summer.

The antlers grow back each year under a fur called ‘velvet’.

Males lock their antlers and fight for the right to mate with females.

Reindeer can be hunted for their antlers, hides, meat and milk. Not only are they hunted, but they can be domesticated.

It is believed that domesticated reindeer have been around since the Bronze and Iron Ages.

Male bull reindeer can measure up to 7 ft, and can weigh up to 700 lbs.

Female reindeer are generally smaller, and can measure up to 6’7″, and usually weigh 121 to 308 lbs.

The Svalbard reindeer suffer from insular dwarfism. (Insular dwarfism is an evolutionary process that leads to the reduction in the size of animals over a series of generations when the species is limited to a controlled environment especially on small islands.)

Northern reindeer, such as the Peary caribou, have white fur, while the Southern types, such as Woodland caribou, have darker fur.

Their fur is made up of two coats: a woolly undercoat, while the overcoat has hollow air-filled hairs.

A reindeer’s hoof can adapt to the seasons.

It is thought that they are the only mammals able to see ultraviolet light.

Reindeer are herbivores and have four chambered stomachs.

Young or sick reindeer are often targeted by predators, such as wolves.

The meat of a reindeer can be eaten, along with almost all of the internal organs.

Father Christmas’ reindeer are: Rudolph, Blitzen, Comet, Cupid, Dasher, Dancer, Prancer and Vixen and Donner.

    1. “Reindeer and caribou are actually the same species, Rangifer tarandus, but there are substantial differences between the two. Caribou are large, wild, elk-like animals which can be found in northern North America and Greenland and have never been domesticated. Reindeer are slightly smaller and were domesticated in northern Eurasia about 2000 years ago. There are still some wild populations of reindeer found in Eurasia but they are best known as a domesticated animal. Today, they are still herded by many Arctic peoples in Europe and Asia who depend on the reindeer for almost everything in their economy including food, clothing and shelter.”

The Fake News is actually trying to convince the American People that I said I wanted to “terminate” the Constitution. This is simply more DISINFORMATION & LIES, just like RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA, and all of their other HOAXES & SCAMS. What I said was that when there is “MASSIVE & WIDESPREAD FRAUD & DECEPTION,” as has been irrefutably proven in the 2020 Presidential Election, steps must be immediately taken to RIGHT THE WRONG. Only FOOLS would disagree with that and accept STOLEN ELECTIONS. MAGA!

    Why they want DACA Amnesty…

U.S. Universities, Backed by Soros and Zuckerberg, Lobby for DACA Amnesty to Preserve Billion-Dollar Profit Pipeline

    Excerpt:

All have a vested financial interest in keeping as many young illegal aliens in the United States as well as adding millions more young illegal aliens to the population because university systems are generating about $9 billion in revenue annually via tuition and fees from foreign students.

Specifically, roughly 182,000 illegal aliens of the more than 400,000 illegal aliens enrolled in U.S. universities and colleges are DACA-eligible or DACA-enrolled — making up a significant portion of university systems’ billions in revenue from their foreign student pipeline.

  8. EXCERPT: “DeSantis vs. Disney: Round 2

Republican Florida lawmaker Randy Fine drafted a bill in April that would strip away the special self-governing agreement tDisney has enjoyed at its 25,000-acre (40 sq. mile) Reed Creek property outside of Orlando. Reedy Creek is the governing jurisdiction for the land on which Disney World sits. The district has a special taxing code and acts with the same authority and responsibility as a country government in Florida.

As TheStreet’s Managing Editor Dan Kline pointed out when the law passed in April, the company would actually save millions a year if the measure goes into effect as Disney’s debt obligations would pass to the state, likely leading to higher taxes to cover the payments.

The bill doesn’t go into effect until next summer, however, and now, Fine has offered an olive branch, or perhaps a fig leaf to DeSantis.

Chapek’s departure, and the return of Bob Iger has the state legislature reconsidering its stance, according to Fine, who said, “It’s easier to shift policy when you don’t have to defend the old policy. Chapek screwed up, but Bob Iger doesn’t have to own that screw-up.” Those comments came after Iger seemed to signal that the company was ready to step back out of politics. “I was sorry to see us dragged into that battle, and I have no idea exactly what its ramifications are,” Iger told employees during a company town hall.

“Do I like the company being embroiled in controversy? Of course not. It can be distracting, and it can have a negative impact on the company. And to the extent that I can work to kind of quiet things down, I’m going to do that.”

The back-and-forth lead to media speculation that the state, which sees enormous financial benefits from having millions of people visit Disney World every year, and Disney were ready to patch up their 50-year relationship.

But comments from a DeSantis spokesperson over the weekend could seemingly throw cold water on any potential reconciliation between the state and Disney.

“Governor Desantis does not make ‘U-turns.’ The governor was right to champion removing the extraordinary benefit given to one company through the Reedy Creek improvement district.”

DeSantis scored big political points — and donations — with his base by attacking the company ahead of his reelection as governor last month. And since he’s highly likely to run for president in 2024, there’s no incentive to stop until he absolutely has to.

But his spokesperson acknowledged the debt problem as well. “Disney’s debts will not fall on the taxpayers of Florida. A plan is in the works and will be released soon,” DeSantis’ spokesperson said.”

    By Cindy Harper
    Posted 2:25 pm

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “Vallejo city has agreed to pay $300,000 to Adrian Burrell, a US Marine veteran, who filed an excessive force lawsuit after he was tackled by a police officer for filming a traffic stop back in 2019. Officer David McLaughlin tackled Burrell in an attempt to stop him from filming him as he held a gun to a motorcycle rider in the driveway of Burrell’s home.

When McLaughlin saw Burrell filming, he ordered him to stop. Burrell refused and the officer approached him, and smashed his face into a wall before swinging him into a pole. McLaughlin cuffed Burrell so hard that his skin broke and his fingers went numb, according to the lawsuit.

In a statement issued through his lawyer, Burrell said that the settlement will be used to “seed the founding of a non-profit organization that will provide the families of individuals who are affected by police violence, and the survivors of community violence time and space to heal.”

We obtained a copy of the settlement agreement for you here.

  12. school in Indiana with do not tell the parents kid is changing their gender policy is being scrutinized…asst supervisor said the policy is board approved–board member says no way…why’s lying?
    FTA

    Commentary By

    Tony Kinnett
    @TheTonus

Tony Kinnett is an investigative columnist for The Daily Signal.

An email unearthed by parents at an Indiana high school has revealed a districtwide support plan for students undergoing gender transition and a policy to withhold and hide information from students’ parents.

An Aug. 16 email sent by a counselor at Pendleton Heights High School in Pendleton, Indiana, informed teachers that a student had changed genders, provided new pronouns, and said teachers should not inform the student’s parents because they were “not supportive of the decision.”
A picture taken of the email from counselor McCord to teachers of the mentioned studnet; obtained via a South Madison parent.

The school counselor’s email concluded by telling teachers that if the student wanted to talk, she was to be sent to one of two counselors.

It’s not yet clear what grades or ages in K-12 instruction are covered by the school district’s policy. This particular email from a high school counselor, however, infuriated local parents and teachers.

Jason Payne, a parent with a child in that school district, South Madison Community School Corporation, told The Daily Signal in a text: “If staff at South Madison are willing to lie to parents about this—what else are they willing to lie about? How can I be assured my kid is safe while he’s at Pendleton if they can’t be trusted to be honest with me?”

This is not a unique circumstance, either. Over the last two years, dozens of “Gender Support Plans” with guidelines not to contact parents have been sent to teachers across the South Madison school district headquartered in Pendleton, counselor Kathy McCord confirmed.

Amanda Keegan, a geography and psychology teacher at Pendleton Heights High School, says she resigned in part to protest this policy.

In an exclusive interview with The Daily Signal, Keegan said, “When I had to look at that parent, and feel like I was lying to that parent … I was sick to my stomach. I can’t lie to parents. I can’t do that again.”

Keegan also said that neither she nor other teachers had ever seen an official Gender Support Plan, whether in blank or completed form, and that she had received emails from counselors only when they were asking her to hide information from parents.

Keegan expressed distress that the school district would ask her to step between a parent and child, recalling how sick she felt when speaking with a parent who had no idea her child was on a Gender Support Plan.

The counselor who sent the Aug. 16 email, Kathy McCord, agreed to go on the record with The Daily Signal to discuss both the email she was required to send to Keegan and the South Madison district’s policies on Gender Support Plans and their origin.

McCord said she and other counselors have access to such plans, but teachers, parents, and the public do not—which she strongly disagrees with. McCord insisted that she and a few other counselors despise this district policy, describing it as both dishonest and harmful.

McCord confirmed that the school district is using the same Gender Support Plan that The Daily Signal obtained in blank form from a source who asked to remain anonymous. Here it is in full:
A copy of the Gender Support Plan from Indiana’s South Madison school district obtained by The Daily Signal.

McCord told The Daily Signal that this Gender Support Plan, modeled on a document at Hamilton Southeastern Schools, a school district in Fishers, Indiana, has been the policy of the South Madison school district since fall of 2021.

Before that, McCord said, if a student approached a teacher or counselor and asked to be called by a different name, the school would call the student’s parents to confirm this desire and decision. Now, the South Madison district requires only that the student say that his or her parents don’t or wouldn’t approve, and the district is obliged to hide the information from parents.

Finally, McCord and another counselor who wished to remain anonymous confirmed that Andrew Kruer, the assistant superintendent in charge of the counseling department, told counseling staff that this gender support policy was “board-approved.”

McCord said that before The Daily Signal’s investigation, she had assumed that since it was a policy approved by the school board, it must have been public knowledge as with any other policy.

South Madison school board member Kaye Wolverton has denied Kruer’s justification, stating that the board members were aware of no such policy. The rest of the seven-member school board have yet to respond to The Daily Signal’s request for comment.

The Gender Support Plan doesn’t appear on any South Madison website, and no reference to this supposed “board-approved” policy exists in any of the website’s documents.

    1. IMO, this is a direct result of the US being signatories on the UN’s Convention on the Rights of the Child.

“United States — Main article: U.S. ratification of the Convention on the Rights of the Child

The United States government played an active role in the drafting of the Convention and signed it on 16 February 1995, but has not ratified it. It has been claimed that American opposition to the Convention stems primarily from political and religious conservatives.[72] For example, The Heritage Foundation considers that “a civil society in which moral authority is exercised by religious congregations, family, and other private associations is fundamental to the American order”,[73] and the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) argues that the CRC threatens homeschooling.[74]

Most notably, at the time several states permitted the execution and life imprisonment of juvenile offenders, a direct contravention of Article 37 of the Convention. The landmark 2005 Supreme Court decision in Roper v. Simmons declared juvenile executions to be unconstitutional as “cruel and unusual punishment”;[75][76][77] in the 2012 case Miller v. Alabama, the court held that mandatory sentences of life without the possibility of parole are unconstitutional for juvenile offenders.[78]

State laws regarding the practice of closed adoption may also require an overhaul in light of the Convention’s position that children have a right to identity from birth.

During his 2008 campaign for President, Senator Barack Obama described the failure to ratify the Convention as “embarrassing” and promised to review the issue[79][80] but, as President, he never did. No President of the United States has submitted the treaty to the United States Senate requesting its advice and consent to ratification since the US signed it in 1995.[81]

The United States has ratified two of the optional protocols to the Convention:[13][14] the Optional Protocol on the Involvement of Children in Armed Conflict, and the Optional Protocol on the Sale of Children, Child Prostitution and Child Pornography.”

McCarthy and the Turtle were actually going to give out gold MEDALS to the disgusting jackboots who killed and maimed our people on January 6th and they stood there online with Schumer, expecting to get at least a handshake.

However, as per usual, they were outwitted by the drunken skank Pelosi who told the recipients not to shake their hands.

House leader needs to take that into consideration when dealing with Capital Police once they are in control. The entire force needs to be reduced and brought back to the Capitol for starters. Then get rid of the leadership and replace from outside.

  20. Story at a glance:

    — While the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) itself does not accept corporate money, it does receive money funneled via a nonprofit foundation, which receives money from other nonprofits funded by private interests.

    — The Reagan-Udall Foundation is a nonprofit foundation created by Congress in 2007 to support scientific research that is of interest to the FDA. It accepts grants from the government, individual donors and other nonprofits — even when those nonprofits are created and funded by industry.

    — The Reagan-Udall Foundation has received large donations from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

    — Ellen Sigal, who currently chairs the Reagan-Udall Foundation’s board of directors, is also vice president of the Cancer Moonshot program, funded by the Gates Foundation, and she’s on the board of the Parker Institute, which is partnered with Inovio, a Gates-funded company that is currently working on a COVID-19 vaccine.

    — According to the rules, no more than four of the 14-member board of the Reagan-Udall Foundation are supposed to be representatives of FDA-regulated industries, yet in 2017, nine of the then 13-member board had financial ties to industry at the time of their appointment.

If you’re like most people, you probably assume that the FDA is funded by the U.S. government and therefore isn’t catering to private industries. The agency itself certainly tries to present itself as independent from the industries it regulates but, in reality, legal loopholes have led to the FDA receiving money from, and being captured and corrupted by, private interests.

While the FDA itself does not accept corporate money, it does receive money funneled via a nonprofit foundation, which in turn receives money from other nonprofits funded by private interests. It’s really all a façade because the end result is the same. Those donating the money ultimately end up with the ability to pull strings, when needed.”

  21. DOE gives a 200M contract to a majority held American company to make lithium batteries–but the problem is it’s mostly controlled by china
    FTA

President Joe Biden’s Department of Energy is touting a grant to a lithium battery company as a move that would help herald the shift to green energy and ensure the United States is cultivating domestic sources of energy. It did not say, however, that the Texas company receiving the grant operates primarily from China and is under scrutiny from American financial regulators.

The DOE announced in October that it would give the $200 million award to Microvast Holdings to build a battery separator facility in Tennessee, using funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. At the time, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said the grant would “supercharge the private sector to ensure our clean energy future is American-made.”

While the DOE described Microvast as a “majority U.S.-owned company, traded on NASDAQ” and “headquartered in Stafford, Texas,” financial records show the company operates primarily out of China. Microvast itself says the Chinese government “exerts substantial influence over the manner in which we must conduct our business activities and may intervene, at any time and with no notice.” The company was also recently added to a Securities and Exchange Commission watchlist of Chinese companies that are on track to be delisted from NASDAQ for failing to comply with U.S. auditing requirements.

The DOE award demonstrates the challenges posed by the green energy transition sought by Democrats and the Biden administration and raises questions about the vaunted $1.2 billion Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funding. That bill was meant to boost U.S. battery companies and strengthen the domestic clean energy supply chain, which has been highly dependent on China. The grant is also drawing calls for additional oversight from Congress. The infrastructure law, as written by lawmakers, states that the DOE should avoid funding projects that “use battery material supplied by or originating from a foreign entity of concern,” which includes companies “subject to the jurisdiction or direction” of China.
