I was researching the web for details about the first Thanksgiving and came across this website for an Inn (The Captain’s Manor Inn) that advertises for the Plimoth Plantation in Massachusetts:

We’ve all heard the legends of the Pilgrims landing at Plymouth Rock and the first Thanksgiving. Now you can learn the real stories – and so much more – behind one of America’s first settlements. Plimoth Plantation offers an immersive recreation of a 17th-century English Village.

The living history museum recreates 7 and a half months of 1627 every year. The exhibit includes actors portraying historical residents in a painstakingly researched and reconstructed environment. Even the livestock are heritage breeds.

The museum has been in operation since 1947 and includes a colonial village with a fort, water-powered mill, and barns. You can also visit a Wampanoag village and a replica of the Mayflower! Best of all, it’s all just a little over a half-hour’s drive from our Falmouth bed and breakfast, The Captain’s Manor Inn!

Exploring Plimoth

When you visit the 17th-Century English Village at Plimoth Plantation, you’ll feel as if you’ve tumbled through a hole in time. The careful attention to detail and character is completely immersive and truly stunning. You have to experience it to believe it!

The village is filled with modest timber-framed houses and costumed, accented role-players. The homes and many characters you meet represent historical residents of Plymouth Colony. The homes have thatched roofs and include typical furnishings of the time, gardens, and functioning kitchens. Don’t be surprised to discover a pot bubbling away on the fire.

Costumed interpreters act as your intermediary, explaining daily village life and answering any questions you might have. The two-story fort guarding the entrance to the village provides an excellent view of the surrounding area and is a great place for a photo.

Barns at the plantation are home to historic breeds of cows, goats, sheep, chickens, and turkeys. In fact, Plimoth Plantation is part of a global effort to save these old and endangered breeds.

Wampanoag Homesite

The plantation is also home to a recreation of a Wampanoag Homesite that was in the area at the time.

The homesite includes traditional “wetu” huts made of wattle and daub. Staff at the Homesite wear traditional Wampanoag dress. They also demonstrate time honored crafts and activities, such as baking cornmeal cakes wrapped in grape leaves in the embers of a fire.

Unlike the actors at the English Village, however, the staff here are not role-players. Instead, these real indigenous people speak from a modern perspective about their tribe’s history and culture.

The Mayflower II

While in the area, you can also visit the Mayflower II, a full-scale reproduction of the ship the Pilgrims sailed to Plymouth in 1620. The Mayflower II was built in Devon, England in the 1950’s. The faithful replica includes solid oak timbers, tarred hemp rigging, and hand-colored maps.

The ship is just a short drive away in Plymouth Harbor, near Pilgrim Memorial State Park. You’ll marvel at how over 100 people managed to live in this tiny space at sea for more than 10 weeks!

The Mayflower II has been away for restoration but will return to Plymouth Harbor in time for the 400th anniversary during Memorial Day Weekend, 2020.

The plantation is located on Warren Avenue in Plymouth, MA and is open 9am to 5pm seasonally, from mid-March through the end of November.

  4. Well, something is still messed up – I was just forced to do an update, which took over half an hour, because I couldn’t connect to anything but Gmail. After it was done, when I tried to click on this open, I still can’t go anywhere – the icon/cursor doesn’t appear on the title when I hover over it, so the only way I can open it is to go to a past comment – that’s how I got here now. VERY strange!!! And only THIS open! Everything else appears to be operating normally, so far.

    The guidance instructs all ORR care providers to make all “reasonable efforts” to help migrant minors access abortions upon request.

    “This may involve transporting a minor to a state in which abortion is lawful and available if the minor is currently in a state in which abortion is not lawful or available,” the guidance reads.

    The ORR’s guidance includes two areas of focus. First, the agency is instructed to place pregnant migrant minors in shelters in states where abortion access has not been banned.

    Second, a pregnant minor in a shelter who requests an abortion in a state where it is illegal must be provided transportation to another state where the abortion is legal.

    “We applaud ORR’s decision to place pregnant unaccompanied immigrant youth in states where they can access the full range of health care they may need, including abortion,” Brigitte Amiri, deputy director of the ACLU Reproductive Freedom Project, wrote in a statement.

    Chelsey Youman, the national legislative advisor for the pro-life advocacy organization Human Coalition Action, blasted the change.

    “What kind of message does this send to the rest of the world that we prioritize abortions instead of protection for immigrants?” Youman said in a statement to the Christian Post.

    “These children need compassion, quality medical care, and support — but instead we’re offering abortion — paid for by taxpayers. The United States has the power to end human trafficking and provide real solutions to hurting communities along the border, instead the administration chooses neglect. Vulnerable immigrant populations deserve better,” she added.

    The updated guidance is not the first move by the Biden administration to increase abortion access through federal actions.

    “When Eric Holder left the Obama administration, his firm was contracted by California during a process of linking the motor vehicle registration files to the Secretary of State voter registration system. Holder was advising on part of a technology system being constructed to bridge the DMV and SoS offices. You might know this as a “Motor/Voter” process. However, former AG Eric Holder had a very specific function in the construction of this technology bridge.

    The process of adding voters to the registration rolls when they receive or update their driver’s license was seen as an opportunity to expand the voter rolls. Making the voter rolls as big as possible is the key to the utilization of mass mail-out balloting. I will skip the part where California started giving illegal aliens drivers licenses for a moment – you can obviously see how that would play with motor/voter rolls – instead I am choosing just to focus on the specifics of the Holder aspect.

    The DMV needed to connect to the SoS office. This was simply a part of a tech system that needed to be built. CTH has previously spoken with the lead engineer, a member of a very small technology group, who worked in the California information technology (IT) unit that was tasked with building the system that connected the DMV to the SOS. [NOTE: I invite the state of California to sue me as they will likely claim what you are about to read is not true.]

    In the process of connecting the two state networks together, there needed to be a “flag”, essentially a check box, where the applicant to the DMV would attest to being legally authorized to vote. It is a positive affirmation, a check box, that says the Driver’s License holder affirms they are legally eligible to vote. That affirmation (the technical flag in the process), when affirmed, then transmits the information to the SoS office with the DL operator identity, and the California driver is automatically added to the SoS rolls and registered to vote.

    During the time when Eric Holder was the legal counsel for the California Secretary of State, the technology team was constructing the internal data processing systems. The lead engineer in the unit was instructed to code the data transfer in such a way that even if the “check box” was left unchecked, the registration data would transmit from the DMV to the SoS office.

    Essentially, instead of only those who affirmed their legal eligibility by checking the box, everyone -including those who did not check the box- would get a DL and would automatically have their information transmitted to the SoS office. Everyone who received a driver’s license or state issued id was automatically going to be registered to vote, regardless of their legally authorized status. That request led the engineer to contact me.”

    Poll chief observes machine problems, does hand count of ballots. Machine count reveals 531 ballots, but hand count reveals just 504.

    22 extra for Dem, 3 extra for Rep; 2 write in.

    If this effects others precincts, you have a flipped race. Now you see why they don’t want hand counts in AZ.

    ENTIRE ARTICLE: “I took some heat last week when I said they were trying to steal Arizona. Some had pointed out that the votes had barely been counted at that point and that a landslide for Kari Lake and Abe Hamadeh as well as wins by Blake Masters and Mark Finchem were still likely. As I said then, the signs were in the air before the first vote was officially counted that the fix was in, the steal was happening, and a week or so after the election we would find out in disgust that our candidates allegedly lost.

    On today’s episode of The JD Rucker Show, I am visiting with Leo Donofrio, an attorney from New Jersey who has done the research necessary to come up with a gameplan should the elections in Arizona get stolen. From what I’ve heard so far, it’s a solid plan. Hopefully he’ll be able to lay it out for us and give us a direction about how to move forward. Lawfare may be our only recourse and unfortunately Republicans are far behind Democrats in that arena. It’s time to get better at it in a hurry.

    The plan, as I understand it now, is that since the Maricopa attorney admitted there was the potential for voter fraud with the broken machines and since voter sentiment is leaning toward lacking trust in the results, Arizona has a method through which a single voter (though preferably more) can challenge the results and get the election annulled. It does not require proving voter fraud nor does it require proving intent. The circumstances need to be demonstrated that enough voters do not trust the results for good reasons, and considering the election day debacle in Maricopa County, they should have ample reasons to be disenfranchised.

    As with any attempt to overturn fraudulent elections in the 21st century, it won’t be easy. But the way Donofrio has explained it to me so far gives me reason to believe there’s a reasonable chance of success. Please pay attention and share this video with everyone, especially those in Arizona. We need actions to start now, not next week, next month, or next year. We already got suckered into “moving on” after the last election. It cannot happen this time or there may not be a future election.”
