What Shall We Make Today?

Everyone knows pumpkin pie is the go-to dessert on Thanksgiving.  But sometimes I’m way too full for pie and a cookie will suffice. So I went searching for Thanksgiving cookie recipes, and I found several options.  Many of these cookies obviously are geared for children—like the cookies with an abundance of candies on them.

Another option is almost painting with frosting!  They can be cute or elegant and definitely time consuming, and it seems like a lot of fuss for a single cookie. What is so cool about some of these though is the creativity in choosing a cookie cutter!  The turkey faces are actually made with an ice cream cone cookie cutter turned upside down.  The turkey legs are made by using a fish cookie cutter.

Personally, I like the last 2 options best—they’re quick and they’re cute!  One is a pilgrim hat—made with a striped graham cracker cookie (upside down), a dollop of icing, a peanut butter cup, and a dash of orange gel icing.  A chocolate wafer cookie could also be used as the hat brim.

The second is even simpler!  A Hershey kiss, a mini Nilla wafer cookie, a dollop and a dot of frosting and a mini chocolate chip!

Of course, you can always skip the cookies, do the dishes, and then later have pie!

        1. I made my (dozen) nut rolls Thursday and got those in the freezer, so no cooking or baking for today.
when i was younger, I would do all my holiday baking in one week–but not any more….lol

  1. “The Moms Were Right: The Science of Acetaminophen Use During Pregnancy Says Its Use is Associated with Neurodevelopmental Disorders, Including ADHD and Autism” — The balance of evidence says its makers are in for massive lawsuits

    James Lyons-Weiler

EXCERPT: “In 2017, I sent (with help from SuperGrandpa Tony DiBiase) copies of my book to 100 Deans of Schools of Medicine around the US. I also sent them studies on the link between the use of acetaminophen following fever induced by the MMR vaccine.

It is well established that vaccination leads to fever. Fever leads to acetaminophen use. The Moms told us years ago that they knew that acetaminophen depletes glutathione, impairing whole-body toxicity. Neurodevelopmental disorders follow.

Now, there are major lawsuits against the manufacturers of acetaminophen for compensation for the cost of neurodevelopmental disorders the follow due to its use during pregnancy.

Here, I compile and share some of the most recent studies on this issue – with their key points highlighted. It is remarkable that none of these studies bothered to look at why the moms took acetaminophen during pregnancy. It is also remarkable that acetaminophen was used in humans during pregnancy with zero data on its effects on neurodevelopment.”

So in Maricopa County they’re at it again. Voting Machines in large numbers didn’t work, but only in Republican districts. People were forced to wait for hours, then got exhausted or had other things to do and left the voting lines by the thousands. Even Kari Lake was taken to a Liberal Democrat district in order to vote. Others weren’t so lucky. This is a scam and voter fraud, no different than stuffing the ballot boxes. They stole the Electron from Blake Masters. Do Election over again!

Mitch McConnell, the Republicans Broken Down Senate Leader, does nothing about this. He’s too busy spending vast amounts of money on bad Senator Lisa M of Alaska, when Kelly S is FAR better. Should have fought and stopped the steal in 2020. Gave Dems 4 Trillion Dollars, never used Debt Ceiling. He is the WORST!

Sheriff Lombardo eventually took charge of the situation and released the stolen property back to the Bundy’s. Which was the right thing to do and to which we are thankful that he did so. The problem comes when Lombardo was latter called to the stand in the first and second trials against some of those were accused by the government in relation to April 12, 2014 as a witness in favor of the government. Sheriff Lombardo, in direct conflict with the oath he just took to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, lies on the stand to the jury and the open public as to what happened that day. This video clip exposes the lies he told on the stand and shows the truth in video of what really happened that day.”

Actually, I fully agree with Margo.
We must repeal the 22nd amendment.
How can we say we have “3 co-equal branches” when only ONE Branch is term limited to 8 years, while the other two have life time appointment, and virtual life time appointment?

Repeal the 22nd, I am all for it, Margo.

I was trying to figure out why Trump made the statement about “Young Kin (sounds Chinese)”.

It dawned on me that he wasn’t just making a badly worded name call as the media is playing up.

There is probably some kind of connection with Youngkin and the China CCP.

I can’t find anything specific, but a hint of some smear connection came up when he ran for governor (see excerpt below).

Come to find out, Youngkin was also on Trump’s team that negotiated the new trade policy with China. So he has China connections both with Carlyle Group CEO and politics). I just don’t know what his business dealings were that the prior PAC was attacking him on.

Anyway, that may be what that was about and Trump just reminding him (shot across the bow) what he’ll bring up if Youngkin runs.

    *****

    Excerpt:

An older gentleman stood up and asked about the recent attacks made by Political Action Committees about Youngkin’s business dealings in China, and how could Youngkin protect American jobs while doing business with the Chinese government.

  9. Entire Article – not sure who this guy/gal is but he/she is dead on-target!

“Lombardo either botched the investigation of the Las Vegas shooting in the fall of 2017 or as part of an FBI-ordered cover-up. Lombardo worked with the FBI to keep the public in the dark about the worst mass shooting in United States history.

Numerous media outlets had to sue the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department under his leadership because the department violated basic press freedoms. They refused to release the surveillance tapes, investigation documents, and other crucial evidence pertaining to the shooting. And he never released a comprehensive report detailing the case.

Lombardo also got caught in a lie during a live TV press conference with the FBI, where he lied about the timeline of the Las Vegas shooting with FBI special agent Aaron Rouse, a crooked cop who was appointed by James Comey to head up the Las Vegas division of the FBI. Sheriff Lombardo regurgitated lie after lie, provided to him by the FBI, but he also chose to heap praise upon Comey’s lackey during his time as Sheriff.

Lombardo, in his role as sheriff, and the FBI wants us to believe that Stephen Paddock was solely responsible for Las Vegas shootings on October 1, 2017, and that Stephen killed himself by shooting himself with an automatic weapon with a bump stock attached; difficult if not impossible. It also ignores substantial evidence that multiple people had access to Paddock’s suite prior to his deadly shootings spree.

These failures of leadership led the Clark County Republican Central Committee to hold a vote in November of 2019, where they agreed to no longer support Sheriff Joe Lombardo, pointing to his history of negligence and corruption. Now Lombardo wants to be the Republican candidate for Governor!

3 young teenage girls break into a warehouse and cause damage?
    entire article
TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Three girls ages 12 to 13 were arrested Thursday after they allegedly caused $350,000 in damage to a Florida business, authorities said.

According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, the three girls “created their own disaster” when they vandalized Imperial Foam & Insulation in Ormond Beach.

The sheriff’s office said the three slashed bags of raw polystyrene material, spray-painted graffiti and crashed forklifts into products, smashing them.

Authorities noted that two of the girls even spray-painted their names onto foam blocks.

The girls were caught a short time later when an employee entered the warehouse, overheard the spraying, and saw the girls running from the building.

Each girl was charged with burglary of a business and criminal mischief, both enhanced felonies due to the state of emergency.

  11. sounds reasonable…but HOW do we do this when the left will protest at every turn? (getting rid of vote by mail)

    FTA
It should simply go without saying, as it used to, that ensuring future election integrity requires that mail-in voting should be limited to extreme circumstances. It is unquestionable that vote-by-mail, for months prior to an election, “remains the largest source for potential voter fraud.”

Perhaps that’s why vote-by-mail in France, for example, has been banned since 1975, and voting must be achieved (with few exceptions) by presenting yourself, in person, on Election Day, providing a photo ID along with signature, then casting a paper ballot which is hand-counted. And while that may seem an antiquated process to American progressives, France doesn’t have to wait for days to find out who wins their elections like we do here in America.

Victor Davis Hanson is right. Our inability to know the results of elections on Election Night should be intolerable. And the Democrats’ and media’s expectation that we are to suddenly believe that the mass proliferation of mail-in voting, long known by both political parties to be the most dangerous avenue toward concealable electoral fraud, is suddenly the safest way an election can be conducted? That should not only be insulting, but infuriating.

The only way to restore faith in American elections is to cast “vote-by-mail” into the dustbin of failed American experiments, and to once again make the collective civic engagement of Election Day the national norm.

  12. DITCH MITCH—some good reasons to do that…
    FTA
There are a lot of Republican voters who are angry about Trump attacking DeSantis after the elections, but very few, even among conservatives, have questioned McConnell’s unnecessary comments.

What has McConnell’s attitude been towards Biden?

Mitch led the GOP in the Senate to vote to send billions of taxpayer dollars to Ukraine, devoid of tracking or accountability mechanisms.

McConnell also reportedly told Joe Biden that he wanted to blunt President Trump’s influence by conveying to allies in Eastern Europe that “Republicans believe NATO is important” and to “push back against the isolationist sentiment in my own party.”

McConnell also voted for a “gun safety” bill that contains a “red flag” law that allows a judge to order the seizure of firearms merely based on someone’s suspicion about his intentions.

The family of McConnell’s wife, Elaine Lan Chao, has extensive business interests in China.

It has been reported that when Chao was Secretary of Transportation, she used her office to promote her family’s shipping business and tried to include family members in high-level meetings with Chinese government officials.

After the midterms, McConnell should have accepted responsibility and voluntarily resigned.

But instead, the GOP leadership and many of their mouthpieces are busy blaming Trump and suggesting that he shouldn’t contest for president in 2024.

Since McConnell seems to think of himself as a monarch who will be permanently perched on the GOP leadership throne, it is important for the GOP senators to remind him about the existence of internal democracy.

  15. “White House Won’t Say How It Spent $1 Billion in Taliban-Controlled Afghanistan — State Department stonewalls watchdog looking into taxpayer funds”

Entire Article @ FreeBeacon: “The State Department says it will not comply with a government watchdog’s investigation into how more than $1 billion in U.S. taxpayer funds was spent in Afghanistan since the Taliban terror group retook control of the country.

The Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR), a government watchdog established in 2008 to perform oversight on America’s $146 billion reconstruction project in the war-torn country, announced that for the first time in its history, the State and Treasury Departments will not comply with its investigations.

“SIGAR, for the first time in its history, is unable this quarter to provide Congress and the American people with a full accounting of this U.S. government spending due to the non-cooperation of U.S. agencies,” the watchdog disclosed in its latest report to Congress. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID), which allocates American aid, “and the Treasury Department refused to cooperate with SIGAR in any capacity, while the State Department was selective in the information it provided pursuant to SIGAR’s audit and quarterly data requests.”

SIGAR says the Biden administration’s refusal to cooperate with its investigation into the allocation of $1.1 billion in taxpayer funds since the Taliban regained power constitutes a “direct violation” of the watchdog group’s congressional mandate. The administration also is withholding evidence related to the collapse of the U.S.-backed Afghan government, as well as information about whether the State Department is complying with laws prohibiting the transfer of American funds to the Taliban. “No federal agency has challenged SIGAR’s authority to conduct oversight of such programs until now,” the watchdog agency said.

The standoff is the latest controversy surrounding the Biden administration’s botched 2021 evacuation from Afghanistan, which left 13 Americans dead and thousands more stranded in the Taliban-controlled country. The administration also has stonewalled congressional investigations into the matter, including probes into its decision to abandon around $7 billion worth of advanced American military equipment inside Afghanistan.

“After more than a decade of cooperation, State, and USAID have for months now refused to provide SIGAR with information and assistance needed for several audits and Congressionally mandated reviews” into the “collapse of the U.S.‐backed government in Afghanistan,” the report says. These agencies are also withholding information pertaining to their “compliance with laws and regulations prohibiting the transfer of funds to the Taliban.”

A State Department official further “informed SIGAR that department staff have received internal direction to not engage with or speak to SIGAR without prior clearance from State legal counsel,” a directive that violates laws meant to protect government whistleblowers and protect SIGAR’s investigation power, according to the report.

The State Department maintains that SIGAR is overreaching its jurisdiction and that it is not legally required to comply with any information requests that pertain to the $1.1 billion allocated for humanitarian assistance in Afghanistan. A July 8 letter sent to SIGAR by the State Department outlines these concerns, according to a copy obtained by the Free Beacon.

“Since the Taliban takeover in August 2021, the United States has stopped providing assistance for the purpose of the reconstruction of Afghanistan,” the State Department told SIGAR, arguing that the watchdog group’s mandate is narrowly tailored just to projects falling under this category. “Since August 2021, the United States has dramatically changed the nature and scope of its activities in Afghanistan to focus instead on humanitarian aid and targeted assistance designed to help meet basic human needs and avoid complete and imminent economic collapse.”

A SIGAR official confirmed the agency received the letter but declined to comment further on the matter. A Treasury Department spokesman would not comment on SIGAR’s accusations of stonewalling, saying only that it “has complied with all legal requirements and shared information with SIGAR.”

SIGAR, in its report, disputes the State Department’s claims about its mandate, writing that most aid programs still being run “are continuations of activities performed prior to August 2021,” when the Taliban assumed control of Afghanistan. To this date, SIGAR says, “State and USAID have not articulated how these programs have changed in practice.”

Congress, the watchdog group adds, “was clear when it granted SIGAR jurisdiction in its 2008 enabling legislation over all reconstruction spending in Afghanistan, including development and humanitarian aid.”

SIGAR has reported on humanitarian aid projects since 2008 and has included these projects in each of its 57 quarterly reports to Congress. When asked about the dispute earlier this month, State Department spokesman Ned Price made clear that U.S officials will block SIGAR’s oversight efforts.

“Our position is that, except for certain specific funds, SIGAR’s statutory mandate is limited to funds available for, quote, ‘the reconstruction of Afghanistan,’” Price said. “SIGAR’s current work does not appear to fall under its statutory mandate to oversee the funds for, quote, ‘the reconstruction of Afghanistan.’”

  16. Entire Article @ FB: “After Sen. Raphael Warnock’s (D., Ga.) church failed to respond to an Oct. 12 inquiry into its charity registration, the Georgia Office of Secretary of State is weighing whether to file a subpoena against the group, the Washington Free Beacon has learned.

Authorities are mulling how to ratchet up the pressure on the Ebenezer Building Foundation, including whether to issue a formal subpoena against the church if it does not respond when a Georgia state investigator delivers another investigative letter, a spokesman for the state charities division told the Free Beacon on Thursday. Though it is not clear precisely when the second letter will be delivered, authorities are expected to do so in the coming days.

The Securities and Charities Division of Georgia’s Office of Secretary of State instructed the foundation, which is controlled by Warnock’s Ebenezer Baptist Church, to answer its initial letter by Nov. 2.

The state’s threat of an investigative subpoena against Ebenezer’s charity could pose problems for Warnock as he launches his runoff campaign against Republican challenger Herschel Walker. The Dec. 6 runoff contest could determine which party controls the Senate if Republicans notch a victory in Arizona or Nevada, which are still tabulating votes from Tuesday’s election.

The church, which pays Warnock a $7,417-per-month tax-free housing allowance, intermingles its finances with the charity. The two entities ended 2021 with combined cash and “cash equivalents” exceeding $1.2 million, according to audited financial statements obtained by the Free Beacon.

The charity, which owns a low-income apartment building that moved to evict residents during the pandemic, has claimed in IRS tax filings dating back to 2011 that it is registered to operate in Georgia. But state authorities told the Free Beacon in October that this claim isn’t true. Charities operating without registration can face civil fines, and in more extreme cases, the Georgia secretary of state can bar offenders from raising funds in the state.

Warnock’s ties to his church’s low-income apartment building dogged him in the last weeks of his campaign. Warnock accused Walker of trying to “exploit” the disadvantaged residents who faced eviction during the pandemic and that the Republican was sullying the name of civil-rights icon Martin Luther King Jr. for “short-term political gain.” Walker has placed the issue at the center of his runoff campaign, launching the “Evict Warnock Bus Tour” on Thursday.

The secretary of state’s probe is not the only investigation looming over Warnock. Former senator Kelly Loeffler (R., Ga.) called on authorities to fast-track an investigation into illegal activity at failed gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams’s (D.) New Georgia Project, which Warnock chaired from 2017 through early 2020. The Georgia Government Transparency and Campaign Finance Commission confirmed Monday that it was aware of the allegations against the New Georgia Project but said its hands were tied until after the 2022 election is decided.

Ebenezer executive pastor John Vaughn and board chairman Ken Palmer did not return requests for comment.”

  18. RECIPE – SWEET ROLLS from my latest favorite mystery writer – J A Jance – she’s got 4 series going!

    Makes 8 large rolls
    INGREDIENTS
    DOUGH:
4 ¾ cups All Purpose Flour; plus 2/3 cup All Purpose Flour (held separate)
    1 cup warm water
    1 packet Instant Yeast
1 large egg + 1 yolk (reserve remaining egg white)
    ½ cup Sugar
    1 tsp Kosher Salt
    Pinch of fresh grated Nutmeg
    ½ cup Sour Cream (whole)
    FILLING:
1 ½ cup Dark Brown Sugar
    1 tbsp corn syrup
    3 tbsp softened (unsalted) butter
    6 oz. chopped Pecans
    ½ tsp ground cinnamon
    Pinch of fresh grated nutmeg
    ICING:
    8 oz softened cream cheese
    ½ cup Sugar
    1/3 cup Heavy Cream
    Optional: Orange Zest

    INSTRUCTIONS
In a large mixing bowl, sift together 4 ¾ cups flour with the nutmeg, then add in the sugar, salt, and yeast. Mix in the egg, egg yolk and water, and knead for about 5 to 8 minutes, or until dough just turns into a smooth, elastic ball. Work in sour cream and additional 2/3 cups flour, and knead until dough takes up the additional ingredients. Dough should be slightly wet and a little sticky. Place in a lightly buttered bowl, cover and set in a warm spot until dough has doubled in bulk.

While dough is rising, prepare the filling by mixing together the Dark Brown Sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, corn syrup and softened butter until uniform, then add in the chopped pecans.

When dough has doubled in bulk, punch down, and roll out on a lightly floured surface to a rectangle approximately 17”wide x 14”high x 1/8” thick, and evenly distribute the filling, leaving approximately 1” at the top without filling; brush this edge with remaining egg white. Roll up into a 17” long log and allow to rest on seam for a few minutes to ensure a good seal. Using a large, sharp knife, gently trim the ends of the log and discard, then cut into 8 equal sections of approximately 2”. Prepare two 8”x8”x2”cake pans, by coating the interior lightly with softened butter, and dusting with flour. Place rolls upright (4 rolls per pan), allowing equal space between rolls and the sidewall of the pan. Preheat oven to 325; Cover lightly with either parchment paper or loose plastic wrap and allow to rise until they begin to touch, almost doubling in width*.

Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, until just golden on top.

While rolls are baking, prepare the icing by creaming together (room temperature) cream cheese and sugar. Add in 1/3 cup heavy cream and mix on medium speed for 2 to 3 minutes. Spread on tops of rolls immediately after removing from oven.

*After covering, you can also place these in the refrigerator and allow to sit overnight, allowing them to come up to room temperature before baking them in the morning.

      1. “Have you ever encountered a recipe where one of the ingredients is superfine sugar and you can’t find it in your grocery? Fortunately, it’s easy to make your own. Read on to see how to make superfine sugar.
        —————
So, what is superfine sugar? Superfine sugar, also known as caster sugar, is simply granulated sugar that has been ground into finer crystals. In some stores, they are sometimes labeled as quick-dissolved sugar or baker’s sugar.”
        —————
How do I make superfine sugar?

If your grocery does not carry superfine sugar, there is no need to worry as you can easily make this at home. You just need a food processor (or blender), dump the granulated white sugar and pulse (high speed) it until it’s very fine. One to two minutes is usually enough to process the sugar. The exact time will depend on the amount of sugar you put and the power of your food processor. The key is to process until the sugar feels like a fine sand. You have superfine sugar when the granulated sugar is now in a very fine grain.

  20. gunshots this morning–we saw the trucks rolling in Thursday already–getting their hunting camps up and going. and on Wednesday evening when we went grocery shopping, we could see the hunters in the aisles stocking up on essentials.
hope they didn’t get the big buck!!
yesterday was an active buck day–well, all deer day. so the hunters must have been scouting, pulling in their trail cams to see what’s been out and about lately…and driving them to our property.

Anyone wondering why we don’t trust the process needed look any further than these races still not settled.

The mere fact that they won’t give us the actual counts of ballots cast five days after the election tells us much about their intentions and leaves us little hope for free and fair elections.

Courts should be jailing these clowns rather than us.

BREAKING: Huge litigation win for America First Legal. Federal judge just ruled that Biden’s edict forcing doctors to treat patients based on “gender identity” and not scientific reality (eg chemical castration) is unlawful. Historic victory against gender lunacy and child abuse.

  24. Entire Article: “Catch Me If You Can!” — ‘It will take one and five…’
    Attorney Bobbie Anne Cox
    Oct 30

“This weekend I was up in Western New York for a fundraiser event that a lovely couple hosted for me in order to help defray the costs of my “quarantine camp” lawsuit that I have been handling pro bono all year. It was a terrific afternoon of informative speeches followed by a panel discussion style Q&A session. Joining me on the stage was my lead plaintiff in the lawsuit, Senator George Borrello, Mayor Deb Rogers (who stood up to the quarantine regulation with her village while I was fighting it in court), Assemblyman Steve Hawley (the local Assemblyman for that district who supports our case and came to welcome the crowd), and Assemblyman Dave DiPietro who is also a supporter of our suit.

The speeches were terrific – replete with keen insights into what goes on behind the scenes in our government, and particularly in the halls of the capitol building in Albany. One thing that really struck a cord with me was something that Assemblyman Dave DiPietro said, and so I will share it with you, in a moment.

A quick note before I do: I’d like to point out that from Day 1 of all of this, I have always said that this is not about politics. It is not about Democrat v Republican, Liberal v Conservative… it is about basic human rights. As of the writing of this article, of all of the speeches, presentations, and interviews I have done over the past 2.5 years (and I have done so many I have literally lost count), I have never spoken publicly about my political affiliation. Not once. Why not? Because it is not relevant to the work I am doing to preserve our Constitution and our way of life. And so, as you read this article, understand that the information I give you herein as to the politicians’ political affiliations is fact – those are the parties they belong to. (For example, Kathy Hochul is a Democrat. Letitia James is a Democrat. A super-majority of our NYS Legislature is Democrats. And so on). It follows, if the people in a particular party are doing things you do not approve of, then you can have your chance on November 8th to vote them and/or their party out of office.

Back to the story that Assemblyman DiPietro shared during his speech. He told a story about how when he first was elected to the NYS Assembly many years ago, he was on the Assembly floor and the law makers were discussing a bill that was being put forth by the Democrats. The bill was wholly illegal and unconstitutional, and so Assemblyman DiPietro said to one of his Democrat colleagues, in essence: ‘You guys can’t do this. This is totally unconstitutional!’

The response he received from his colleague was: ‘One and five, Dave. One and five.’

Assemblyman DiPietro explained to us that, as he was new to Albany politics at the time, he didn’t understand what this meant. So logically, he asked the Democrat legislator what he meant by that. His response was unbelievable, as he explained to Assemblyman DiPietro that, in essence:

‘We know it’s unconstitutional. We don’t care. It will take you (Republicans) one million dollars ($1,000,000) and five years to sue us and get it struck down as unconstitutional.’

Assemblyman DiPietro was stunned. As was I when I heard him tell this story. As (I hope) you are now as you read this. How could these elected officials so brazenly disregard the rule of law, and shun their oath to uphold the Constitution? Equally as frightening is the fact that this attitude continues still today in the one-party-rule that we see in Albany where the Democrats have a super-majority in both our legislative houses, and they have the governorship.

This story that Assemblyman DiPietro shared with the crowd really resonates with me. Why? Well, because when I am giving a speech, whether in New York or in any of the other states where I have given speeches, the number one point I try to make is that our government is spiraling out of control. We have become a “regulation nation” governed by edits instead of by laws that have been properly enacted by our elected officials in the legislature. Our government, at the state level as well as at the federal level, has taken on a very dangerous attitude of…Catch me if you can!

This is where the government does things that they very well know they lack the power to do, yet they do it anyway! Constitution be damned. Citizens be damned. An example of this that we saw on the federal level was Biden’s eviction moratorium that he imposed on landlords nationwide which he issued through the CDC. It was totally illegal. Biden and his administration knew it. They even acknowledged it publicly. Yet he did it anyway, and it took a ruling from the United States Supreme Court to strike it down. I was a guest on Outside the Beltway at the time to explain that harmful situation. The link to that interview is here if you want further details.

On the state level, here in New York, one such example of the “Catch me if you can” runaway government is Kathy Hochul’s totalitarian “Isolation and Quarantine Procedures” regulation that I successfully got struck down a couple of months ago. I have written extensively about that lawsuit, and Hochul’s and Attorney General Letitia James’ intended appeal. You can read more about it here if you want more details, or you can watch my interview on NTD News with Cindy Drukier.

There are many more examples of this obstinate and perilous “Catch me if you can” phenomenon. You can read more about it in one of my prior articles here.

The underlying point is this, we cannot continue to remain on defense. There aren’t enough lawyers like me to fight all of the stunningly illegal regulations and laws that our government is churning out at record rates. Even if there were an abundance of like-minded attorneys, the other problem is that lawsuits take time, a lot of time. And, lawsuits take money. And whilst the lawsuits are being fought, people are being injured in the interim. It’s not sustainable. We need to change the paradigm!”

Break the Cycle — How do we change the paradigm? Well, it seems logical that we need to change the leadership at the top! We need political leaders (whether in the Executive Branch [governors], or in the Legislative Branch [senators and assemblymen], or in the Judicial Branch [the judges]) who will uphold the Constitution; not decimate it.

November 8th is a monumental opportunity for Americans to wipe the slate clean and put into government power positions those who share our values and who honor our Constitution and our unalienable rights. Here in New York, not only is Governor Hochul up for election (running against Lee Zeldin), but so is Attorney General Letitia James (running against Michael Henry), and every single NYS Senator and NYS Assembly member – as well as our federal Senator and Congressmen. (By the way, Joe Pinion is running against Senator Chuck Schumer – a politician who has been in Congress since 1981. I’ll do the quick math for you – that’s 41 years. I say, enough already!)

I encourage everyone to vote on November 8th, and bring with you as many of your friends and family as you can. The question to ask yourself, and your friends/family, is simple: do you want freedom for the next 4 years? Or do you want to slip further into a lawless regime where illegal regulations, unconstitutional laws, and authoritarian rule are the norm?

Entire Article: “Cognitive dissonance is when people feel discomfort due to discrepancies in their own thoughts or beliefs. As an example, someone who takes pride in being honest, feels such discomfort when he tells a lie.

Another example of cognitive dissonance is the discomfort felt by members of a cult when they seek to explain how the end of the world was postponed, as their apocalyptic prophecy did not come true. The term was in fact coined by psychologist Leon Festinger in his studies of such cults in the 1950s.

The opposite of cognitive dissonance is doublethink, a word that first appeared in George Orwell’s 1984. Doublethink is the ability to accept two contradictory beliefs at the same time, while being totally unaware of the contradiction. In Orwell’s own words:

‘To know and not to know, to be conscious of complete truthfulness while telling carefully constructed lies, to hold simultaneously two opinions which cancelled out, knowing them to be contradictory and believing in both of them, to use logic against logic, to repudiate morality while laying claim to it, to believe that democracy was impossible and that the Party was the guardian of democracy, to forget whatever it was necessary to forget, then to draw it back into memory again at the moment when it was needed, and then promptly to forget it again, and above all, to apply the same process to the process itself—that was the ultimate subtlety: consciously to induce unconsciousness, and then, once again, to become unconscious of the act of hypnosis you had just performed. Even to understand the word—doublethink—involved the use of doublethink.’

This morning I saw an excellent example of this on someone’s Facebook wall (translated by FB from the Icelandic, so not perfect):

Tertullian, one of the church fathers, born in the late second century, made the following observation regarding the birth, death and resurrection of Christ:

    “Natus est Dei Filius, non pudet, quia pudendum est;
    et mortuus est Dei Filius, prorsus credibile est, quia ineptum est;
et sepultus resurrexit, certum est, quia impossibile.”

    In English:

“The Son of God was born: there is no shame, because it is shameful.
And the Son of God died: it is wholly credible, because it is unsound.
And, buried, He rose again: it is certain, because it is impossible.”

Here, the contradiction is religious; only God can contradict himself, the absurd is allowed only to God; we mere mortals are bound by the rules of nature and the rules of logic. The only exemption is that through profound religious experience we can transcend the rules of logic and believe the absurd, hence “It is certain, because it is impossible.”

Does doublethink have a religious dimension then? Has the person who believes two contradictory statements at the same time in some way transcended reason, and entered into a religious dimension? Or has he simply lost his mind?”
