Spooky Haunts: The Winchester House

Today, the house is known as the Winchester Mystery House, but at the time of its construction, it was simply Sarah Winchester’s House. Sarah Winchester was the widow of William Wirt Winchester, heir to the Winchester Repeating Arms Company.  Born around 1840, Sarah Winchester grew up in a world of privilege. She spoke four languages, attended the best schools around, married well, and eventually gave birth to a daughter, Annie. However, tragedy struck in her late twenties when Annie died, followed by the death of Sarah’s husband William more than a decade later.  After William’s death in 1881, Sarah inherited roughly $20 million (over $500 million in 2019 dollars) as well as fifty percent of the Winchester Arms company which left her with a continued income equal to $1,000 a day (or $26,000 a day in 2019 dollars).

Newly in possession of a massive fortune and struggling with the loss of her husband and daughter, she sought the advice of a medium. She hoped, perhaps, to get advice from the beyond as to how to spend her fortune or what to do with her life.  Though the exact specifics remain between Sarah Winchester and her medium, the story goes that the medium was able to channel dearly departed William, who advised Sarah to leave her home in New Haven, Connecticut, and head west to California. As far as what to do with her money, William answered that too; she was to use the fortune to build a home for the spirits of those who had fallen victim to Winchester rifles, lest she be haunted by them for the rest of her life.

In 1884, Sarah Winchester purchased what would later become known as the Winchester Mystery House. At the time of the sale, the house was a small unfinished farmhouse, but that quickly changed.  Winchester hired carpenters to work around the clock, expanding the small house into a seven-story mansion. Due to the lack of a plan and the presence of an architect, the house was constructed haphazardly; rooms were added onto exterior walls resulting in windows overlooking other rooms. Multiple staircases would be added, all with different sized risers, giving each staircase a distorted look.  Stranger so was the fact that many of the alterations seemed pointless. Staircases would ascend several levels then end abruptly, doors would open to solid walls, and hallways would turn a corner and end in a dead-end.

Additionally, Winchester insisted that the home be built exclusively out of redwood – however, she didn’t like the look of the wood, so she insisted it be covered with a stain and a faux grain. By the time the house was completed, over 20,000 gallons of paint had been used to cover the wood.  By the turn of the century, Sarah Winchester had her ghost house: an oddly laid out mansion, with seven stories, 161 rooms, 47 fireplaces, 10,000 panes of glass, two basements, three elevators, and a mysterious fun-house-like interior.

Anyone who set foot in the home could tell that no expense had been spared.  Gold and silver chandeliers hung from the ceilings above hand-inlaid parquet flooring. Dozens of artful stained-glass windows created by Tiffany & Co. dotted the walls, including some designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany himself. One window, in particular, was intended to create a prismatic rainbow effect on the floor when light flowed through it – of course, the window ended up on an interior wall, and thus the effect was never achieved.

Even more luxurious than the fixtures were the plumbing and electrical work. Rare for the time, the Winchester Mystery House boasted indoor plumbing, including coveted hot running water, and push-button gas lighting available throughout the home. Additionally, forced-air heating flowed throughout the house.

Unfortunately, in 1906, an earthquake struck San Jose, and the Winchester Mystery House sustained a hefty amount of damage. Thanks to the floating foundation (a foundation that equals the weight of the surrounding soil) the entire house was saved from collapse. The top three floors were ultimately removed, leaving the house with only four stories, as seen today.

Throughout the years-long construction of the Winchester Mystery House, Sarah Winchester would never confirm that she was building a haunted house. However, stories and rumors swirled throughout San Jose.

The contractors who worked on the house reported Winchester having daily seances with local mediums, in an effort to reach “good spirits.” These “good spirits” were reportedly consulted to find out how to best appease the spirits whom she was allegedly building the house for. These spirits are reportedly what called Winchester to make so many illogical additions to the home.

Far after the construction was completed, Winchester continued to make efforts to appease the victims of the Winchester rifles.  Out of the 13 bathrooms in the home, only one was functional, in an effort to confuse any ghosts wishing to haunt a spigot. Furthermore, she would sleep in a different room every night in the Winchester house, and use secret passageways to get from room to room so that no spirits could follow her.

In the years Sarah Winchester lived in the house, the residents of San Jose whispered about its strange construction and even stranger inhabitant, but it was in the years after her death that the wild stories became even wilder.   After her death in September of 1922, Sarah Winchester left all of her belongings to her niece, Marion, who had served as her personal secretary later in life. However, the Winchester Mystery House was never mentioned in her will, adding to the mystery of the home.   After appraisers deemed the house worthless due to its strange design, damage from the earthquakes, and long-winded construction, Marion took everything in it and auctioned it off. The current owners of the house claim it took six weeks to empty the house of all furniture, though the report is uncorroborated.

After the house was emptied, a local investor purchased the home for a cool $135,000. Just five months after Sarah Winchester died, the Winchester Mystery House was opened to the public for tours.

Inside the home…some of it looks quite lovely…some is just bizarre.

    What a house – sounds like Mrs. Winchester was at loose ends and couldn’t think straight for the grief and pain of her life.

    I’m wondering how much of that vast fortune the ‘medium’ got away with.

    chilly here this morning!!
    today is hammer the deck day!
    at least once a year, we take hammers and pound back in any nails that have wiggled their way out of the deck. this must be done before the first snow flies because when i shovel off the deck and the ramp, i push the snow rather than LIFT the snow…and the shovel snags on the raised nails.
    (DISCLAIMER: this is in no way a commentary on what happened to pelosi yesterday…for any who might be monitoring…LOL)

    1. Morning, Pat! Ah, yes, the nails in the deck! I used to do that periodically on my deck on my house near Vint Hill Farms. I was barefoot in the summer, in stocking feet in the winter, and I hated catching my foot/sock on a nail. Huge deck that ran across the entire back of the house. It has actually gotten colder by 3 degrees since I got up at 6:30 – 42 then, 39 now, with what’s looking like a pretty sunrise.

      Crazy lady, crazy house! I’m of 2 minds on this – yes, it was her money to do what she wanted but still……what a fricking waste!!!! Mediums! Pfffttt….what rot!!!

  6. Update on the Sally Q sewing projects….

    I’m home and have been for 10 days now – recuperating – had PTSD after those 2 weeks at the Village with Sally Q and her Dad.

    Funny thing about the van – Daddy Q gave them back the newer van and got our old 2001 conversion van back. The wheelchair van people are putting a new transmission in the last one he actually bought and giving him his money back.

    He didn’t like driving a heavy unweildly Wheelchair van full time – and the cost of the newer ones is prohibitive – 40-50K and up! We don’t transport Sally Q all that often – especially now that there are new-fangled video appointments. He’s going to put some money into fixing up the old one and use the remainder to buy another everyday car he enjoys driving.

    And – I’ve been praying, thinking, working on strategies, ideas for managing Sally and her tirades/volcanic eruptions. I used your ‘In the Name of Jesus – stop!’ a few times. I’m recovering slowly but surely as I pray along.

    The wheelchair tech and the lift tech guys came while I was there. And we got two good chairs working and sent one back with to the shop with the chair guy.

    The lift guy loved my designs and the straps and sling I made. Wants to take a set of them and drawings to the next lift convention.

    Have been gathering materials – getting ready to sew revisions of the straps (making them adjustable) for her lift and more comfortable leg rigs for her wheelchairs.

    But FIRST – – – Gonna try to get in some yard work therapy in today – fresh air, sunshine and vitamin D!

    Want to make my yard look nice in case the eff-bee-eye comes to get me for exercising my First Amendment rights regarding the 2008-24 elections!

      1. Another explanation – The newly purchased use wheelchair van broke down while I was there, so I had to drive him to get a loaner and groceries, etc. while I was there.

        1. my sister was confined to a wheelchair in the last years of her life and she was gifted a van from my aunt (who was also wheelchair bound but then confined to a bed).
          but it became more of a hassle with visiting older homes (like our mother’s place) so my brother-in-law carried her everywhere–she was short and thin–but he did it even in their house. carrying her to the bath and the bed.
          now that they’re both gone, it’s still how i picture them…her in his arms…both smiling and content.

          1. What a blessing that he was able to do that for her. So many older men have back or heart trouble.

            I became acquainted with parents of kids with the same disease as Sally who had 2-3 children with the same disease. One mother did the carrying and lifting, from chairs to car, etc. The disease doesn’t show up until around puberty – so they were now pre-warned before all their children were born. There are online support groups and crowd-sourcing, but I was kinda drummed out for being an outspoken conservative Christian – whose opinions weren’t welcome.

          2. I still write the organizer and a member of the group, who is a pharmacist in Spain, and handles the science research updates, on a consultation basis, and they but no longer participate in the group as such.

His name is Arthur Engoron, & he is a vicious, biased, and mean “rubber stamp” for the Communist takeover of the great & prosperous American company that I have built over a long period of years. He was appointed by my worst enemies. Case was to go to a new Judge, but he demands to keep it. I have no jury or Civil Rights!

      In breaking with a long standing and powerful tradition where cases involving politicos are not to be brought or tried just prior to, or during, a major Election (the Midterms), I have THREE, all run and inspired by Democrats, who absolutely refused to move the date.     Let’s see if I can get this story straight:
    -The “wellness check” was a response to a 911 call. Paul Pelosi made the call from the bathroom using his cell phone. (If he was safely inside the bathroom and had already called the police, why did he leave and got in a physical altercation with a man twice younger than him?)

    The police got there within minutes and found both men fighting over a hammer. DePape manages to get the hammer from Pelosi and attack him in front of the police officers, who, only then, tackle the assailant. Both men were injured. Pelosi, first was said to have some non life threatening injuries, but later was undergoing brain surgery.

    Am I missing something?

    Depape was in his underwear. What was Paul Pelosi wearing? Did they ever find DePape’s pants?

    Why did his friend want to know where Nancy Pelosi was?

      PHOENIX — A federal judge Friday refused to bar a group from monitoring outdoor ballot boxes in Arizona’s largest county where watchers have shown up armed, saying to do so could violate their constitutional rights.

      U.S. District Court Judge Michael Liburdi said the case remained open and that the Arizona Alliance for Retired Americans could try again to make its argument against a group calling itself Clean Elections USA.

      A second plaintiff, Voto Latino, was removed from the case.

      Liburdi concluded that “while this case certainly presents serious questions, the Court cannot craft an injunction without violating the First Amendment.”

      Local and federal law enforcement have been alarmed by reports of people, including some who were masked and armed, watching 24-hour ballot boxes in Maricopa County — Arizona’s most populous county — and rural Yavapai County as midterm elections near. Some voters have complained alleging voter intimidation after people watching the boxes took photos and videos, and followed voters.

      Arizona law states electioneers and monitors must remain 75 feet from a voting location.

      “Plaintiffs have not provided the Court with any evidence that Defendants’ conduct constitutes a true threat,” the judge wrote. “On this record, Defendants have not made any statements threatening to commit acts of unlawful violence to a particular individual or group of individuals.”

      The Arizona Alliance for Retired Americans said it was disappointed.

      “We continue to believe that Clean Elections USA’s intimidation and harassment is unlawful,” it said, adding it would “seek immediate appellate review and emergency relief.”

    “MASSIVE statements from Russian Permanent Representative to the the UN pertaining to the US Biolabs in Ukraine. It appears that a formal investigation is inevitable.

    Today United Nations Security Council (UNSC) carried out debate on the possible enactment of Article VI of the Biological Weapons Convention, which would be an investigation into the United States and their Biolabs in Ukraine.

    Russia presented their final draft to the the UNSC today, covering all of the evidence compiled in their dossier, and it is currently being reviewed by experts from the various nations. The contents of the dossier include the evidence presented over the course of the past 8 months.

    I highly recommend everyone read the full statement here.1 These allegations are historic. Hunter Biden’s Metabiota, Black and Veatch, negligence of deadly pathogens, drones equipped with aerosol canisters to disperse airborne water particles containing pathogens, aerial release of infected mosquito armies, all of it.

    All of the allegations brought forth over the past 8 months via the Special Military Operation in Ukraine are in the draft. These allegations are not new for those who have been paying attention, this is just an accumulation of all the evidence being presented at once. It’s a great review and complete of the exact crimes alleged.

    However, something that is new, is the timeline. Russia had some interesting comments pertaining to when they expect some progress via a “relevant report” from the UNSC and their commission “no later than November 30, 2022”. The same time as the Ninth Review Conference of the Biological Weapons Treaty.

    “We expect that the commission would manage to clarify all circumstances of Washington and Kiev’s possible non-compliance with their obligations under the BTWC in the context of biolaboratories’ activities in the Ukrainian territory with a view to stimulate the American and Ukrainian sides to remedy the outstanding intolerable situation. We also expect that the commission would present a relevant report on the issue containing recommendations to the Council no later than November 30, 2022 and inform the BTWC states-parties of the results of the investigation at the Ninth Review Conference to be held in Geneva on November 28 – December 16, 2022.

    Russia will articulate its further approach to ensuring national, regional, and global biological security depending on the results of the consideration of our complaint and the draft UNSC resolution. The outcomes of this work will also define our position with regard to the strengthening of the BTWC and resolving the situation with violations of the BTWC by the US and Ukraine in the context of the activity of US biolabs on the Ukrainian territory.”

    In conclusion, Russia have proposed these allegations via the proper diplomatic channels, presented their case in a convincing and consistent manner, conducted themselves with transparency, while the US/NATO have simply cried “disinformation” the entire time.

    This performance has generated a lot of global support for Russia and generated doubts about the US and the West. Not only is the leadership of the US under scrutiny, they are alleged of the most severe crimes against humanity known to international law.

    I don’t know how it will unfold, but this is the highest diplomatic channel on the planet, and if it works as it is supposed to, the top Deep State players will soon be under international investigation for violating the Biological Weapons Treaty. If found guilty, the response would be international military tribunals.

    When the sheep are made fully aware of this, this will be an extinction level event for the DNC and thus the Deep State.

    DeSantis showed up in Arizona ONCE. Any support for Kari Lake cannot be attributed to DeSantis going forward. (nor does she need it)

    DeSantis endorsed a “Self Proclaimed” Trump hating candidate in Colorado. (The ONLY candidate endorsed in Colorado, btw)

    DeSantis originally snubbed Lee Zeldin by ignoring a campaign fundraiser in NY, in favor of pocketing BIG $$$ from someone who endorses the current Democrat govenor of NY. (Nothing to see here)

    DeSantis is 0 for 3.

    After Zeldin has done the heavy lifting, DeSantis is now going to ride in and save the day.

    DePape allegedly broke into House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco home early Friday and attacked her 82-year-old spouse with a hammer while ranting, “Where’s Nancy?”

    “This attack on Nancy Pelosi’s husband came as a shock to me, though not much considering the kind of extreme abuse he had inflicted on me and my brothers,” the 20-something Gonzalez wrote. Gonzalez described DePape as someone who “did genuinely try to be a good person,” but added “the monster in him was always too strong for him to be safe to be around.”

    She said her mom met DePape — whom she describes as her “father” — in Maui while pregnant with her. The couple moved to the Bay Area shortly after Gonzalez was born. They split in 2014, when Gonzalez was 13. Gonzalez said her mother “kicked David out because of his toxic behavior.”

    Six months later, Gonzalez’s brother Nebosvod started to remember their father “physically and sexually abusing me and my brothers, which started when we were very young and continued until around 2008, when [Gonzalez] was 7,” she recalled. Although their mother filed a police report accusing DePape of abuse “the case was not managed properly, so nothing was done about it,’ wrote Gonzalez. She claimed she and her younger brother Daniel also “started getting memories of his abuse.”

    Despite their troubled past, Gonzalez said she still loves DePape and called him a “quiet” man who was “never violent, yelled or even swore.” She also alleged DePape’s single mother “was a person who would beat him almost to death. He barely opened up about himself or his past but it was obvious that he grew up in hell and that we didn’t know the worst of it,” she wrote.

    Gonzalez said DePape would regularly take her and her siblings to beaches and parks when they were young and one time said at a park that he’s sorry ‘”for everything I have done.” She said she hasn’t seen DePape since she was 13, but did contact him about 4 months ago. She said the conversation ended when he refused to admit to the abuse.

    DePape’s name is tied to two conspiracy blogs. One, titled “Big Brother Censorship Hell,” features a banner warning readers that “The elites/ruling class never censor themselves. You can still turn on any mainstream news channel to hear day and night the narrative put forth by the people who rule you.”

    The second blog, frenlyfrens.com, hosts more detailed posts under categories like “Climate hysteria” and “Corruption.” Several of the posts espouse anti-Semitic conspiracies, including one that reads “Isn’t their [sic] a trope about Jews ABUSING the courts to rip people off.”

    “I did not agree with all of his views, it made me happy to see that he had strong opinions on issues that our world is facing today,” said Gonzalez.

    A spokesperson for Nancy Pelosi said her husband was expected to recover. Depape was due to be charged with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, elder abuse, burglary and “several other additional felonies,” police said. Nancy Pelosi, also 82, was in Washington with her protective detail at the time of the attack, US Capitol Police confirmed in a statement. The agency is assisting the San Francisco police with the investigation, as is the FBI.”

    The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is considering investigating an alleged long-running and widespread ballot harvesting operation among black communities in the central part of state. Law enforcement officials are considering probing the matter on the recommendation of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ new election crimes unit, the Office of Election Crimes and Security (OECS), officials confirmed.

    DeSantis’ new election crimes body was established this year in an effort to hold individuals in the state accountable for voter fraud. Law enforcement officials confirmed they are looking into the matter in an emailed statement to The Epoch Times. “The Florida Department of State has received a complaint regarding alleged ballot harvesting in Orange County, which is currently under review to determine if an investigation is warranted,” the statement read.

    In a separate statement to Just the News on Wednesday, the department stated that it was made aware of the issue around Sept. 1, 2022.

    “After further inquiry, OECS received additional information related to the allegation on October 17, 2022, and performed a preliminary investigation,” the statement read. “Since OECS is an investigative entity and does not [have] authority to make arrests, the office forwarded the complaint to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for possible violation of section 104.0616, Florida Statutes,” it added.

    Since the 2020 presidential election, Republican lawmakers and experts have repeatedly raised concerns over alleged voter fraud that may have swung votes in favor of President Joe Biden. The conservative election integrity group True the Vote in late 2020 said it had found “overwhelming evidence of ballot trafficking” across key states in the United States, including Georgia, Arizona, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. GOP lawmakers have accused Democrats of ignoring the issue, which they say presents an obvious threat to elections across the country.

    Democrat Blows the Whistle — In late August, former Orange County Commissioner candidate Cynthia Harris, a Democrat, filed a sworn affidavit with the office of Florida’s secretary of state alleging the ballot harvesting operation, according to a Just the News report.

    In the affidavit, Harris reportedly said voting activists in Orlando were being paid $10 for each third-party ballot they collected. Harris told Just the News she was concerned about the broken chain of custody with ballots collected by third parties. “You know, it’s just utterly ridiculous that people don’t understand that once that ballot leaves your hand and it’s not placed in the mailbox, or it’s not directly given to the supervisor of elections, you don’t know where it goes,” she said.

    The probe into the alleged ballot harvesting comes shortly after an Arizona Democrat and school board member was sentenced to 30 days in prison after pleading guilty earlier this year to one count of ballot abuse.

    Guillermina Fuentes, a 66-year-old former mayor of the town of San Luis, was accused of being involved in a ballot harvesting scheme during an August 2020 municipal election in which she allegedly illegally collected early ballots from four individuals that were not family members. Under Arizona’s anti-ballot harvesting law, it is a felony to hand in early ballots for individuals who are neither family nor household members unless the person handing in the ballot is the voter’s caregiver.”

    Male and female adults who have detransitioned spoke on their experiences with both transitioning to the opposite gender, as well as transitioning back to their birth gender, and there were many. Adult males spoke about their experiences with drugs and surgeries, with one individual who presents as a female describing the lack of function the neo-vagina between his legs has. There is not enough depth for penetrative sex, the individual told the Board.

    Many of those who testified against these procedures for minors stressed that adults are able to make these mistakes, and if adults can be so wrong about the taking of drugs and surgeries to present as the opposite sex, what hope do minors have of being able to truly to consent to a lifetime of sterility and sexual function simply to be able to appear as the opposite sex.

    Former President Donald Trump’s super PAC donated $20 million this month to another PAC responsible for supporting Trump’s endorsed candidates. Trump’s PAC, Save America, donated $20 million to Make America Great Again Inc. (MAGA-Inc), according to FEC filings released Oct. 27 (pdf).

    Trump founded Save America shortly after he lost the 2020 election in order to help the GOP retake the House and Senate during the 2022 midterm elections cycle. It has been wildly successful at raising money, currently boasting more than $105 million in its coffers, but has come under investigation for allegedly misleading donors.

    MAGA-Inc is another PAC fueling Trump-endorsed GOP candidates in tight midterm races across the country, and has invested heavily in contentious races wherein the GOP appears to be losing steam. Though MAGA-Inc filed its articles of organization just one month ago, the organization has raised more than $32 million, receiving an additional $8.9 million from another Trump-allied PAC and $1.5 million from donor Timothy Mellon.

    The PAC was established by Trump allies to provide independent expenditures on behalf of candidates. Unlike direct contributions to political campaigns, such expenditures can be made in unlimited amounts, which the PAC appears to be taking advantage of. In the last month it has spent more than $8 million on Trump-endorsed candidates.

    MAGA-Inc made several million-dollar ad buys this month in Senate races across Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. In each of those battleground states, Trump-endorsed candidates have begun to lag behind Democratic opponents in fundraising power. The end-game financial plays by Trump and his allied PACs come amid a contentious and record-breaking midterm election cycle, which appears set to surpass even the 2020 presidential election in terms of campaign monies spent.

    Whereas some $9.02 billion was spent during the 2020 election cycle, it is projected that the 2022 cycle will surpass $9.67 billion, according to competitive intelligence firm AdImpact. For comparison, the 2016 presidential election between Trump and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton saw $2.57 billion in campaign spending.

    “Although 2022 is not a Presidential year, there are still many high-profile and competitive races fueling the historic levels of political ad spending that will carry through to November,” said an AdImpact report. “In 2020 we saw historic amounts of political ad spending in House races and expect that precedent to be the new norm.”

    Across the nation, war rages between parents who charge that schools are teaching their children race-based Marxist Critical Race Theory and school boards and educators who deny their accusations. Finally, we have definitive proof that students actually are being taught these dangerously divisive concepts.

    The Manhattan Institute for Policy Research, a New York City–based free-market think-tank, commissioned a study of a national sample of 1,505 18- to 20-year-olds who were still in high school or had just graduated. (Of these, 82.4% reported attending public schools.) The participants were asked whether they had ever been taught in class, or heard from an adult at school, these following six concepts, of which four are central to Critical Race Theory. The percentages are those who answered “yes.”

    1. America is a systemically racist country. (62%)
    2. In America, white people have white privilege. (69%)
    3. In America, white people have biases that negatively affect non-white people. (57%)
    4. America is built on stolen land. (67%)
    5. America is a patriarchal society. (53%)
    6. Gender is an identity choice, regardless of the biological sex you were born into. (51%)

    The participants were also asked if they were ever taught the following gender concepts in high school, college, or other educational settings (excludes those who “didn’t know”). The percentages are those who answered “yes.”

    7. Discrimination is the main reason for differences in wealth or other outcomes between races or genders. (62%)

    8. There are many genders, not just male and female. (33%)

    The survey went farther and compared those who had some college with those who had not attended college (includes those who didn’t know if they were ever taught).

    The data show that those who are taught CRT-related concepts are more likely to support them, blame whites for racial inequality, and support race-based policies. Whites exhibit higher levels of white guilt.

    Already a majority of Millennials favor socialism or communism. America cannot survive losing another generation to a far left-wing ideology. If we expect to return to our founding principles and to be a nation of free people, we must — absolutely must — remove students from all schools that teach Marxist ideology and Queer Theory.

    “Americans have a right to be secure in their homes and backyards without being watched by a government drone,” IJ Senior Attorney Robert Frommer said in a statement. “The difference between a peeping tom and a lawful investigation is a judicially authorized warrant.”

    The government brought a code enforcement lawsuit against Maxon in 2007, claiming he illegally stored “junk” on the property. The new lawsuit says the vehicles aren’t visible “from any ground-level public vantage point.”

    Maxon won the lawsuit settled in 2008, $3,000 in attorney fees, and a promise that the government would “not to bring further zoning enforcement action against Defendant Maxon based upon the same facts and circumstances which were revealed during the course of discovery … .”

    Earlier this month, the CEO of Michigan-based Konnech, Eugene Yu, was arrested and charged by Los Angeles County prosecutors for allegedly storing election worker data on servers based in China. Engelbrecht and Phillips had been investigating Konnech since January 2021, and last month, prior to Yu’s arrest, the CEO filed a defamation lawsuit against them.

    The lawsuit has continued, despite Yu’s arrest, and in Houston on Thursday, U.S. District Judge Kenneth Hoyt gave Engelbrecht and Phillips a deadline of Monday to turn over any Konnech data it possessed and disclose the name of their source. True the Vote has characterized the lawsuit as an effort to try to silence the organization. Konnech obtained an ex-parte temporary restraining order in secret, True the Vote said, so the election integrity group would have no opportunity to contest it.

    Phillips, in a message on Truth Social, said he and Engelbrecht “were held in contempt of court because we refused to burn a confidential informant or our researchers. We will go to jail Monday unless we comply.”

    Last week, calling it “probably the largest data breach in United States history,” Los Angeles County prosecutor Eric Neff said Chinese contractors working for Konnech had direct control over U.S. election data through an app for poll workers called PollChief. The complaint cited as evidence a message from a Konnech project manager through a Chinese-owned messaging app that said “any employee for Chinese contractors working on PollChief software had ‘superadministration’ privileges for all PollChief clients.”

    Sam Faddis, former CIA officer, put that statement in perspective in a Substack post. “An individual with super administration access to a system can do effectively anything inside that system,” he wrote. “He or she can delete data, steal data, alter data, change programming, etc.”

    Yu’s arrest, Oct. 4, came one day after the New York Times published a story mocking True the Vote as “election deniers” for claiming Konnech was storing personal information about poll workers on servers in China, posing a serious security risk. Alluding to the New York Times, among others, True the Vote said in a statement after Yu’s arrest that Konnech “was assisted by many reporters who unblinkingly accepted their now discredited claims as fact, and simply repeated them.”

    “Election integrity should not be a partisan issue, nor should media try to suppress all conversation about it in a way that benefits one party,” said Engelbrecht. “We will continue to report evidence of threats to our election process,” she continued, “and work with law enforcement to ensure our elections are a secure space for all American voters.”

    Petraeus also claimed that Russia has little chance of reversing the trajectory of the conflict in Ukraine thanks to America’s financial assistance. Additionally, the U.S. has “many options” should Russia decide to launch a nuclear weapon, he said.

    In Orthodoxy there is the Church Hierarchy who we love very much and respect. They are the image of Christ. Then there are the Saints of the Church who we love even more and respect even more! They are the likeness of Christ.

    Listen to what one of our most famous and beloved saints said back in the early 90s. This is an amazing and clear voice of prophecy. Saint Paisios the Athonite wrote in his Spiritual Awakening, roughly 30 years ago, “And now a vaccine has been developed to combat a new disease, which will be obligatory and those taking it will be marked.”

    To be clear the Orthodox Church does not teach that the Covid vaccine is the mark of the beast, but it is a self-evident type or foreshadowing of a time when only those who belong to the state apparatus will be allowed to buy and sell (digital money?). Those who allow themselves to be tricked by this vaccination will be marked… that is in the future.

    Not all who unnecessarily took the vaccine were tricked by it. They knew it was coercion, they knew it was evil and wrong for an inhuman system to constrain them to take a shot for the flu, but many had no real choice, or were tricked through fear. Die of starvation or take the shot! Lose everything you’ve been working for, for decades or Take the Damn Shot!

    Hopefully, those who were forced by circumstances or fear will be able to see through the Marking of the Beast whether that will be in a few years or a few millennia.   50. sliding down here…I didn’t realize we were out soooo long!’we were hammering the deck and then thought we’d take a small walk up the mountain to see if something is blocking the spring that feeds the pond…it was a lovely walk…but hubby has to take it slow…didn’t see anything so far…can’t believe the spring dried up though…
