Located at the Kinzua Bridge State Park in northwestern Pennsylvania, the skywalk was constructed on six of the historic Kinzua Viaduct massive steel towers remaining after the tornado of 2003. The Kinzua Viaduct was once the highest and longest railroad viaduct in the world. The park amenities include forestland picnic areas, a park pavilion-available for rental, hiking trails and the new Kinzua Bridge State Park Visitors Center. The access road to the park is the Kinzua Bridge Scenic Byway a shared use road for bicycling.
The Kinzua Sky Walk extends out 624 feet into the Kinzua Gorge offering panoramic views. The skywalk features a walkway with a set of railroad tracks leading to the end of the overlook which has a partial glass floor. At a stunning height of 225 feet above the valley floor, visiting the Kinzua Sky Walk is an exciting opportunity to “Walk the Tracks across the Sky.”
Kinzua Visitor’s Center

Start your journey at the Kinzua Bridge Visitors Center, located at the edge of the Kinzua Gorge. Arriving at the entrance, visitors are greeted by huge steel towers flanking the doorway. The new 11,000 sq. ft. building features two exhibit halls with displays showcasing the three E’s – Engineering, Energy and the Environment. The flagship PA Wilds Cooperative Artisan Shop features handcrafted and handmade items from the region. Modern classrooms welcome school groups and special functions.

Are you brave enough to experience this sky walk in Pennsylvania? Mother Nature simply won’t take no for an answer but, then again, neither will the Kinzua Bridge. When Mother Nature unleashed her fury with a furious tornado that ripped through Kinzua State Park in 2003, she succeeded in bringing down all but one-third of the 2,053 foot long Kinzua Bridge.
But, despite the vicious storm, part of the Kinzua Bridge refused to collapse. Today, the 600 feet of bridge that survived has become one of the state’s most spectacular sky walks, promising visitors a stunning view of the forest floor and the remains of the bridge scattered haphazardly some 300 feet below.

Morning, Pat! I fell asleep last night without closing the pet door. When I got up, I saw that Little Man had taken ownership of my chair on the patio. He was curled up sleeping but popped up as soon as he heard me inside. Goodness! His food/water dishes were empty! I filled both and sat down and he jumped right up in my lap and started rubbing and purring. I expect I’ve acquired a patio kitty for good now that he’s discovered how nice and comfy it is…..he ate and drank, then hopped right back up in the chair, curled up and purring…..
Initially, when I saw the walkway, I said no way, considering me and heights. But it is really wide and looks very sturdy so, yeah, I’d do it.

Good morning y’all! We finally made it here on Thursday. Ms. Mama made the drive with no problems. We are in the process of unpacking our stuff from a uhaul trailer I rented and waiting on our uboxes to arrive Tuesday. So glad to be here. Worked ourselves to death getting our old house ready for the realtors to check this past Monday.
There are a few things that we did not get to as time was getting short. The realtor didn’t think it was a big deal and aurprised us by saying he thought we should go 30k higher than what we thought we could get away with. We lived in a quiet area outside of town, rural. Trade Bait tells stories of the places nearby a lot on Q Tree. House is not on the market yet, they need to photograph and take drone pics still. Fingers crossed and praying! Hope to be on a bit more after we get really settled, but for now have to stay with family while the other house is being worked on. Hope everyone has been well.

How wonderful that you finally made it there at least! Great news about the higher price for your house – more is always better when it comes to selling a house, right? A year from now, it will seem like you’ve always lived there! Best of luck to you both! FYI – Pat has company this week-end so she may not be on much.

Entire Article @ Brownstone: “Yesterday, September 1, 2022, The New York Times had a front page story entitled: “The Pandemic Erased Two Decades of Progress in Math and Reading.”
The first paragraph states that “National test results released on Thursday showed in stark terms the pandemic’s devastating effects on American schoolchildren, with the performance of 9-year-olds in math and reading dropping to the levels from two decades ago.”
Further down, the article says: “Then came the pandemic, which shuttered schools across the country almost overnight” and “experts say it will take more than the typical school day to make up gaps created by the pandemic.”
The definition of a pandemic, according to the Bulletin of the World Health Organization (ref: Last JM, editor. A dictionary of epidemiology, 4th edition. New York: Oxford University Press; 2001) is “an epidemic occurring worldwide, or over a very wide area, crossing international boundaries and usually affecting a large number of people.”
According to the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, “an epidemic occurs when an infectious disease spreads rapidly to many people.” Thus, a pandemic is a disease that spreads rapidly to many people all over the world. Based on this pretty much universally accepted definition, a pandemic can do exactly one thing: it can spread disease to many people around the world.
What can a pandemic NOT do?
A pandemic cannot impose mandates or lockdowns.
A pandemic cannot block borders or force people to stop traveling.
A pandemic cannot shutter schools – overnight or otherwise.
A pandemic cannot impact math and reading.
A pandemic cannot cause learning gaps.
What can our response to a pandemic do?
If we decide to shut down schools for months and years on end in response to a pandemic, then it is our response that has caused whatever educational deficits and devastation to children ensue. It is not the pandemic.
In case there’s any doubt that the effects of a pandemic are separate and distinct from society’s response to the pandemic, we can take a look at Sweden, where schools were never shut down, and where there was no learning loss (reference link) and much less devastation to schoolchildren than in countries that closed schools (reference link) during the Covid pandemic.
Blaming the pandemic for anything other than disease and/or death is misinformation. The New York Times headline and article contain clear and uncontestable instances of misinformation. Here is the information from the article, stated in a factually correct way:
‘US public health leaders and politicians mandated prolonged school shutdowns in response to the Covid pandemic, and these school shutdowns had devastating effects on schoolchildren, creating learning gaps and erasing decades of progress in math and reading.'”

Entire Article @ Fox7Austin: “Border protection officers in Texas discovered nearly $12 million worth of cocaine in a shipment labeled “baby wipes” last week, marking the agency’s largest bust of the drug in nearly two decades, officials said.
The seizure happened Friday at the Colombia-Solidarity Bridge near Laredo when a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer referred a 2016 Stoughton trailer for a secondary inspection, CBP said in a news release on Monday.
The trailer’s manifest said it was hauling baby wipes, but a canine and non-intrusive inspection found a trove of illicit narcotics — 1,935 packages of cocaine, CBP said. Randy Howe, director of field operations for the CBP’s Laredo field office, called it a “colossal, record-setting seizure.”
The 1,532.65 pounds of cocaine had an estimated street value of $11,818,400. “This seizure is a prime example of border security management and how it helps prevent dangerous narcotics from reaching our communities,” said Port Director Alberto Flores, Laredo Port of Entry.
CBP officers seized the cocaine, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations special agents are investigating the seizure, the release said.”

Entire Article @ LibertyDaily: “In January 2021, Bed, Bath & Beyond sided with the liberal mob and dropped MyPillow products from their stores. Liberals celebrated:
In response, conservatives boycotted Bed, Bath & Beyond — and bought their bedding from MyPillow.com using promo code TLD directly instead (The Liberty Daily benefits when you use that code). Now, this:
“Bed, Bath & Beyond is closing 150 stores:
Bed Bath & Beyond on Wednesday announced swift and significant steps it is taking to try to revive its struggling business, including layoffs, store closures and a shake-up of the brands on its shelves.
On a call with investors, the New Jersey-based retailer laid out details of its latest turnaround push. It said it has started closing about 150 of its “lower producing” namesake stores. It will also slash costs by shrinking head count by about 20% across its corporate and supply chain workforce.”
Canceling MyPillow was a big mistake! They forced conservatives to choose between a big box store and a man who fights for conservatives. With MyPillow winning, will other retailers stop fighting conservatives? Will we return America to the open economy it should be?”

EXCERPT @ RadarOnLine:
“President Joe Biden’s administration pressured Instagram to remove an account on the social media platform parodying Dr. Anthony Fauci, Radar has learned. The incident reportedly took place in July 2021 when Clarke Humphrey, who works as the White House digital director of the COVID-19 response team, emailed the social media giant with a request to remove the fake account.
“Any way we can get this pulled down?” Humphrey asked in the email which has since been obtained by Republicans suing the federal government for their alleged collusion with top social media platforms. “It is not actually one of ours.”
“Yep, on it!” an Instagram official reportedly replied within one minute of receiving Humphrey’s request. Shortly thereafter, the account parodying Dr. Fauci was completely removed from the platform.
The shocking revelation the Biden Administration pressured Instagram to remove an account comes months after the attorneys general for both Missouri and Louisiana filed a lawsuit in May accusing President Biden and other White House officials of violating the First Amendment.”
