  1. EXCERPT: “Fear has defined the last two years.

Humans are hardwired to fear infectious diseases, but with such uncharacteristic effectiveness did government turbocharge fear to ensure compliance with restrictions and silence opponents, that the nation turned not only in on itself, but also on its children.

Fuelled by that fear, we locked our young in their rooms for days on end, padlocked their playgrounds and stopped them from seeing their grandparents and friends. We tossed their education to one side, in the process degrading it to an extent which, without drastic remedial action, will not recover. Fuelled by fear, a woman in Texas locked her own child in the boot of her car to escape his infection; a university in Manchester barricaded its students into their halls of residence; and a mayor in New York gagged the city’s toddlers for months. Fuelled by fear we breached our species’ most basic social compact: to protect our young, abandoning at so many touch points our posts as guardians and often even pushing children into harm’s way – mentally and physically – to save ourselves.

Worst of all, drunk on our diet of fear, we taught children they were “vectors,” “silent spreaders,” “reservoirs of infection” – posing a danger to the adults around them. “You people are just vectors of disease to me, and I don’t want to be anywhere near you, so keep your **** distance,” yelled one university professor in Michigan in January 2022.

The government – wielding the weapon of fear- also terrified itself. Fear fueled a chain reaction of bad decision after bad decision – school closures, masking of children, aching to give them a medical intervention they did not need, suspending vital safeguarding protections, and allowing or actively encouraging demonisation, scapegoating and stigmatization to take hold of a previously cohesive society to an extent that should have been unthinkable.

These decisions leave a debilitating legacy.

Taught that they were responsible for endangering the lives of their elders, many youngsters now have serious mental health problems: post-pandemic waiting lists in the UK for children with eating disorders have more than doubled and there are an astonishing one million children waiting for mental health support. Globally lockdown was associated with an explosion of children acquiring tics and nervous disorders, especially girls. More than half of young people say they’ve ‘lost confidence’ in themselves.

One in four eleven-year olds are now obese, waiting lists for children’s paediatric and intervention services are spinning out of control and this week’s SATS results are yet more evidence, as if any were needed, that we’ve robbed children of the fulfilment of attainment. Indeed, it’s now painfully apparent that the Government’s pandemic policies have also degraded, perhaps permanently, education itself – some 1.7 million children are now regularly absent from school – one in four compared to one in nine pre-pandemic.

Society will live with the consequences of these two desperate years for decades, perhaps longer. Fear is an inhibitor of bold, creative thinking and decisions made from a place of fear are smaller and defensive. Yet we have seen little bold, creative long-term planning in policy – and it shows nowhere more so than in education, where we lack not only any sort of long-term vision but, at the time of writing, even Ministers as well.”

  2. EXCERPT: “The University of Pennsylvania has nominated transgender swimmer Lia Thomas, a biological male, for the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s (NCAA) Woman of the Year award. Thomas is one of 577 nominees selected from the roughly 223,000 female collegiate athletes nationwide. The NCAA’s Woman of the Year award recognizes “female student-athletes who have exhausted their eligibility and distinguished themselves in their community, in athletics and in academics throughout their college careers.”

NCAA member schools can nominate up to two female student-athletes for the award, with a caveat that if two are nominated, one “must be an international student-athlete or student-athlete of color.”

With 2022 marking the 50th anniversary of Title IX, the NCAA is honoring the top 30 nominees and naming the award winner at its annual convention in San Antonio, Texas, in January.”

  3. Entire Article @ BB: “The University of Central Florida (UCF) is complying with Gov. Ron DeSantis’s law prohibiting schools from accusing people of racism. In the spring, Gov. Ron DeSantis signed into law the “Stop WOKE Act,” which took effect on July 1 and laid out the restrictions of how race is taught in schools. It includes barring instruction that claims an individual’s “moral character or status as either privileged or oppressed is determined by his or her race, color, sex, or national origin.”

In its reporting of the development, the Associated Press (AP) noted that some critics are outraged that the content has been removed:

In an email, UCF spokesperson Chad Binette said the school recently removed departmental statements that could be seen as “potentially inconsistent with our commitment to creating a welcoming environment — one where faculty objectively engage students in robust, scholarly discussions that expand their knowledge and empower them to freely express their views and form their own perspectives.”

“UCF is committed to building a culture that values respect, civil discourse, and creating a sense of belonging,” said Binette, the school’s assistant vice president of communications.

“This is a complete infringement of academic freedom,” Ann Gleig, a religious studies professor at UCF, said. “The statement was crafted over a period of time with dialogue and input across a person plus faculty trained in philosophy, religion and cultural studies and the humanities.”

“The DeSantis regime has made the anti-racist mission of my alma mater against the law,” Democrat State Representative Carlos G. Smith, a UCF graduate, tweeted. “This is a consequence of HB 7 and the Governor’s out-of-control censorship agenda. This is not freedom.”

The AP reported that according to the Orlando Sentinel, the anthropology department’s website previously said, “We acknowledge that many of us are born with unearned privilege, while others are denied basic human rights.”

  4. EXCERPT: “The Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka is hoping to take out yet another billion-dollar loan, open a separate $1.5 billion credit line, and activate a $1.5 billion currency swap with communist China, Sri Lanka’s envoy to Beijing told Bloomberg News on Friday.

Sri Lanka – a socialist oligarchy ruled by the Rajapaksa dynasty for decades before the last family member in office, Gotabaya Rajapaksa, gave up the presidency on Friday – is currently facing the worst economic crisis in its history, the result of Rajapaksa family mismanagement directly tied to a proclivity for taking out predatory Chinese loans. Under Gotabaya and his brother, former president and prime minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, Sri Lanka signed onto China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and took out loans too big to repay for projects it could not maintain, making it one of the world’s biggest BRI losers.

Under Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Sri Lanka ran out of foreign currency reserves this year, resulting in bankruptcy and widespread shortages of nearly every basic good in the country, most distressingly food, medicine, and fuel. Rajapaksa had also made the country dependent on imports of food after banning chemical fertilizers, a “green” initiative to go all-organic that the former president admitted in April was a “mistake.”
    ——————
In the meantime, the Wickremesinghe government appears determined to repeat Rajapaksa’s mistakes, seeking outlandish loans from China to pay off previous outlandish loans from China. Sri Lankan Ambassador to Beijing Palitha Kohona told Bloomberg on Friday that Colombo is seeking $4 billion in aid from the Communist Party in addition to several new billion-dollar commitments.

“We are confident that at some point the Chinese system will agree to our requests because these are not unreasonable requests,” Kohona told Bloomberg. “We have made similar requests to other creditors. Sri Lanka needs the funding to bring stability to our financial system and we are confident that the Chinese will come to the party sooner than later.”

One of the loans requested is reportedly a billion-dollar loan to avoid defaulting on a separate Chinese loan. About ten percent of Sri Lanka’s prodigious debt belongs to China.

“Sri Lanka’s federal government has about US$12.6 billion in outstanding bonds owed to global funds; all repayments are frozen and defaults have been recorded,” Bloomberg explained. “It owes roughly an equivalent amount to bilateral creditors and multilateral lenders.”

  5. This is LOL funny….more like nuts! You really think a doctor’s note is going to help? In Russia? You should see the comments – “Be sure to use a Get Out of Jail card, too!”

EXCERPT: “KHIMKI, Russia (AP) — A lawyer for WNBA star Brittney Griner at her drug possession trial in Russia on Friday gave the court a U.S. doctor’s letter recommending she use medical cannabis to treat pain. Griner, a two-time Olympic gold medalist and standout for the Phoenix Mercury, was arrested at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport in February after customs officials said they found vape canisters containing cannabis oil in her luggage. She faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted on charges of transporting drugs.”

  6. Whoa! Just now watching Tucker’s show from last night – he exposed that FJB was medicated before every appearance. From GP (I hate having to use them!):

“Joe Biden’s cognitive function was so far gone that he was fed pills by staff supervised by his wife Jill to be able to function during the 2020 presidential campaign–and still is to this day, according to a report Friday by Fox News Channel host Tucker Carlson.

Tucker Carlson: “How did he manage to get through the campaign? Well, it turned out, we learned later his staff, supervised by Dr. Jill, his wife, was giving him pills before every public appearance–checking the time and at a certain hour giving him a dose of something. Now it’s not a guess, we’re not making that up. We’ve spoken directly to someone who was there and saw it happen multiple times. Now, before taking the medications this person said, Biden was quote ‘Like a small child. You could not communicate with him, he changed completely because he was on drugs and he clearly still is on drugs.’ Someone’s pushing, we don’t know what those drugs are. We should know.”

  7. I talked to my Sis today – her daughter told her about something that happened when SIL & Piper joined them on a pontoon – I don’t know when this happened but sometime this summer. There was a smaller section just for the kids and they were all eating Cheetos. P walked up and said “You need to learn how to deep-throat those!” Mandy turned to someone next to her and asked if she heard that right – yep! And she is soooo fat! Sis wondered why he would let her get that fat, considering everything he and HB went thru. I brought it up to him multiple times, telling him she is going to end up just like HB with debilitating back issues. But, of course, he didn’t listen.

HOLY SHIT!!! Gee, anyone wonder where she got that??!!?? Totally unsupervised time on YT!!! He is destroying her life!!!!

      1. She turns 13 this year……which means puberty…..puberty blockers? Who knows with that lunatic??!!?? I’ve never met her pediatrician but from what he has said, she sounds like she is somewhat reasonable. He asked her about the HPV vax and she said, no – maybe later if and when she becomes sexually active. Which tells me she’s got some common sense, at least. SMDH

She also starts HS this fall and will be in school with her cousin, one of Sis’ grandsons – her son’s boy.

Leaked audio from 2016 shows then-Vice President Joe Biden threatening former Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko with assassination should he cooperate with the incoming Trump administration.

A One America News Network (OAN) report of a phone call recorded on November 16, 2016 – two weeks after Donald Trump’s shock electoral victory against Hillary Clinton – revealing Biden’s voice warning Poroshenko about working with Trump began circulating social media on Wednesday.

“This is getting very, very close to what I don’t want to have happen. I don’t want Trump to get in a position where he thinks he’s about to buy onto a policy where the financial system is going to collapse and he’s going to be looked to pour more money into Ukraine,” Biden told the former Ukraine president.

“That’s how he’ll think about it before he gets sophisticated enough to know the detail.”

“So, anything you can do to push the PrivatBank to closure so that the IMF loans comes forward, I would respectfully suggest is critically important to your economic as well as physical security,” Biden warned Poroshenko.

OAN summarized the phone call: “In other words, Biden does not want Ukraine asking any more money from Trump. Doing so would cause Trump to look into the details.”

The disturbing phone call begs the question: What exactly about Ukraine was Biden so afraid of Trump finding out about?

Given what’s already known about Joe Biden’s involvement with his son Hunter Biden’s corrupt dealings at Burisma Holdings, probably a whole lot.

“It is absolutely wild that members of Congress are still allowed to buy and sell individual stock,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted on Thursday. “It shouldn’t be legal. We’ve introduced legislation to end the practice, but as one can imagine it’s a very uphill battle to pass.”

Cortez and fellow House Democrats Rep. Joe Neguse of Colorado and Raja Krishnamoorthi of Illinois, in March 2020 introduced the Ban Conflicted Trading Act, which would bar members of Congress from trading stocks. A companion bill was introduced in the Senate by Sen. Jeff Merkley, D-Ore.

It’s unclear if Ocasio-Cortez’s tweet was directed at Sen. Paul. Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have recently been late in reporting their financial transactions.

Members of Congress are permitted to purchase shares in individual companies so long as the transactions are not made with the knowledge of non-public information, according to the Stock Act. Members of Congress and their families are required to disclose any assets purchased or sold, the dates of such transactions and the dollar amount.
