We Need to Talk

I am an ostrich.  I am the fastest runner of any bird and most other two-legged animals and I can sprint at over 43 mph! Well, okay, I am no match for a cheetah…

Of course, these long, gorgeous legs are a factor, but having just two toes on each foot (most birds have four), with the large nail on the larger, really helps!

Males of our species have black feathers with white feathers on their tails and pink or blue necks.  Females have gray-brown feathers that allows them to blend in while they are sitting on their nests.  Males and females share the nest sitting duties—the females do it doing the day, while the males sit at night.  (Their black feathers providing wonderful camouflage.) We can reach 7-9 feet in height and weights between 250-350 pounds! And our eye is the largest of any land animal—2 inches across!  And talk about formidable! When I feel threatened, not only can I run fast, but my powerful, long legs can be formidable weapons, capable of killing a human or a potential predator like a lion with a forward kick.

As an omnivore, I feed on plants, roots, seeds, flowers, berries, small rodents, leaves, lizards, and invertebrate insects.  I will graze on trees and shrubs on the African savannahs and I can survive without water for days, utilizing moisture in the plants to source the water. I will graze with as many as 50 other ostriches, being mostly active in the early part of the day and later in the evening.

After mating, I will lay up to 12 eggs in a shallow pit dug by my mate.  The giant eggs are about 6 inches long and can weigh as much as 2 dozen chicken eggs!  Both my mate and I will incubate the eggs and they will hatch in 35-45 days.

My kind are farmed all around the world, particularly for my gorgeous feathers; my skin is used as leathers, and well, apparently we’re quite tasty.  In some places we’re even saddled and raced.

So, let’s get to the point of this conversation.  I do NOT bury my head in the sand for any reason.  I am not looking for anything, I am not avoiding anything…I just don’t do it.  If I want to hide, I press my neck along the ground to be less noticeable …but I do not bury my head in the ground.  So this bullshit is NOT because of us!  This is just democrats being democrats.

GOT THAT?

  1. Good morning y’all! Had a nice quiet day at work yesterday. Hopefully today will go the same. On the countdown to my last day now. If I can make it to the 28th with no big problems at work it would be great. Still have a little packing to do upstairs, then all of my tools and crap in the basement…almost there.

    1. No mainstream press reporting on this but a LOT of reports from obscure sites – this is the closest to MS that I could find:

Entire Article: “The French President backed the development of Uber in France singing a deal when he was economy minister between 2014 to 2016. The findings, leaked after an investigation based on 124,000 confidential internal Uber documents, prompted calls for Mr Macron to resign.

Les Patriotes leader Florian Philippot said: “Macron must resign! He betrays France, its companies, the State, justice, the people! Out!” He added: “If after the #UberFiles the oppositions don’t vote ‘no confidence’ today, I don’t know what they need! Be responsible and vote it! Put the Macronie down!”

Echoing his comments, National Rally MEP Jordan Bardella said: “It was common knowledge, the #UberFiles demonstrate it once again. “Despite the permanent ‘at the same time’, Emmanuel Macron’s career has a consistency, a common thread: to serve private interests, often foreign, before national interests.”

Left MEP Manon Aubry also blasted the French leader. She said: “Revelations on a secret deal between Macron and Uber. “We also better understand the role played by France in blocking any European regulation of platforms! It is not a president who governs France but a lobby!”

Debout La France leader Nicolas Dupont-Aignan echoed: “Emmanuel Macron, loyal supporter of Uber. “Minister of the Economy, he was already betraying France by defending the interests of an American company!”

According to the investigation, the French leader signed a deal with Uber to “make France work for Uber so that Uber can work in and for France”. Mr Macron also promised “a drastic simplification of the legal requirements” to obtain a ride-sharing licence. Uber also secretly lobbied ministers to influence London’s transport policy, it has been reported.

Leaked documents show lobbyists for the ride-sharing app company met then-chancellor George Osborne and other ministers, according to the BBC. The “undeclared” meetings took place after Boris Johnson, as Mayor of London, had promised to launch a review that could have limited Uber’s expansion in the capital.

The meeting with Mr Osborne took place at a private dinner in the US state of California, where Uber is based.”

  4. Huh……I had never heard of this game, Elden Ring, since I’m not now, never have been, and never will be, a gamer. However, this caught my attention…….Malenia? Melania? Coincidence? It’s a new game released in February.

“Then, at 4:51 PM, Elon dropped another meme. This time just a picture of Malenia, Blade of Miquella. For those who don’t know, this is a character from the popular game Elden Ring, and she is widely considered to be one of the hardest bosses in any video game ever made. But how does this relate to the Twitter deal?”

  5. illegals are setting up camps in the wooded areas in the Hamptons…
    entire article
Hamptons residents said Monday they were shocked to learn from The Post that illegal immigrants were living in the woods amid the area’s sprawling mansions — as outraged online commenters blamed nouveau-riche property owners and liberal voters.

“I haven’t seen homelessness in the Hamptons at all. The first I heard of it was when I read it in The Post,” a woman in Southampton said.

“I see those guys at the 7-Eleven in the morning waiting for work. I would imagine it’s impossible for them to find housing because it’s very expensive but you don’t see homelessness around town.”

Bill Gallo, 74, of Remsenburg, said, “I had no idea. I can’t imagine people here even know.”

“I bought a home in the Hamptons in 2015. I spend half my time in Florida and half my time here,” the retired grain trader said.

“You walk the streets of Southampton and you don’t see any homeless.”

Gallo added: “I imagined migrant workers lived in lower-income areas adjacent to the Hamptons, like certain areas in Riverhead or Speonk — very modest areas.”

The Post revealed Monday that migrants were living in homeless encampments among the mansions in the Hamptons.

Meanwhile, The Post’s exclusive revelation of day laborers living in hidden encampments across the tony town of Southampton sparked condemnation on Twitter.

“One of the differences between the ‘old’ Hamptons, i.e., the Hamptons that existed prior to the 1980s, and the ‘new’ Hamptons is that people in the old Hamptons would have been rightly horrified and embarrassed that the people who worked for them lived in homeless squalor,” user @EdwardMSuarez wrote.

Trump administration aide and immigration hawk Stephen Miller also tweeted, “Leftist elites open our borders for cheap labor then wall off their compounds with gates, fences and guards. Biden’s America.”

Bill Gallo said he “had no idea” the encampments were in his neighborhood.

“Keep voting Lib New York, you guys deserve each other,” added @Ronin7964.

Another user, @nyhoopcoach, said: “I’d love to see the immigrants find the conditions unacceptable, not come to Hamptons, and the rich will have to do their own work.”

Southampton Town Supervisor Jay Schneiderman blamed the situation in part on residents’ attitude toward plans for affordable housing, saying “I’ve been sued over and over” for supporting various proposals.

Southampton Town Supervisor Jay Schneiderman said Hamptons residents’ opposition to affordable housing is partially to blame for the encampments.

“People often don’t want affordable housing near where they live, even though they recognize the need,” he said.

“They get concerned their quality-of-life will be diminished by increased density when instead of a single-family home going up next door it’s 40 apartments.”

Schneiderman added, “I try to work on building an inclusive community with an economy that works for everybody.

“But when land is so expensive, it’s very hard to make the numbers work.”

Southampton is reviewing plans for 60 units on a site behind the Southampton Full Gospel Church along Route 27, where The Post found illegal immigrants living in the woods.

The nonprofit developer, Concern Housing, said they hope to start construction in December but the migrants “will not be eligible for the affordable housing because they must have a legal status.”

Schneiderman also said the campers wouldn’t qualify for the proposed housing because “there are certain income thresholds that have to be met and you have to show income statements to qualify for the program.”

“So it would be challenging for an undocumented person to meet those requirements,” he said.

Westhampton Beach Mayor Maria Moore, whose village has an encampment in the woods behind an abandoned gas station, didn’t return emails seeking comment.

Bryan Browns, chief legal operations officer for Legal Aid of Suffolk County, told The Post, “Our only concern is the well being of the workers who are homeless.

“If we can help one person with a blanket or a tent, then our mission is progressing forward.”

A spokesperson for Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone said in an email, “Without question, there are serious concerns regarding affordable housing on the east end of Long Island.”

“Our Department of Social Services coordinates with local officials and non-profits to provide any available resources to those in need,” the spokesperson added.

Illegal immigrants aren’t eligible for housing assistance from the DSS, county officials said.

All I have to do is drive 45 minutes south to Madison and look at what all the Hispanics brought in to work at the pork plant have done to that tiny town. “EXCLUSIVE: Hunter Biden could face prostitution charges for transporting hookers across state lines and disguising checks to them as payments for ‘medical services.’ First Son spent $30k in five months on ‘the girlfriend experience’

    – Hunter wrote checks to a Ukrainian woman named Ekaterina Moreva who was named in red flag reports by banks for suspicious activity, documents reveal

    – A Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) filed by JPMorgan Chase flagged transactions involving Moreva after she received tens of thousands of dollars from Hunter’s company

    – Photos from Hunter’s iPhone show he wrote checks disguised as medical services to prostitutes supplied by Moreva, whose website offers a ‘girlfriend experience’

    1. “The SAR, leaked to the anti-corruption nonprofit Marco Polo and obtained by DailyMail.com, says ‘student’ Anna Dekhtiar from Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, received $274,873 between November 2018 and March 2019 with ‘no clear, legitimate economic purpose’.

The SAR said the money was received from eight senders including Hunter’s company Owasco, P.C. Two of the women listed as depositing the large sums in Dekhtiar’s account are also in text messages on Hunter’s laptop, and appear to be hookers he hired. Some of the cash was then sent on to Moreva, who Hunter used to facilitate many of his sordid nights with prostitutes.

One depositor named in the SAR was a woman Hunter filmed on his iPhone in January 2019, claiming that he gave her $10,000 and asking if he hurt her. Another is a woman Hunter paid $2,400 on Venmo for an ‘art consultation’ and a further $200 for ‘packaging and shipping’ in October 2018.”

  10. yesterday while getting my hair done, I learned about 3 weird things that happened in our county this last month. First, in a little town not far from here, the officer who shot that young black boy in the park (thinking he had a gun) had applied for a police officer position. apparently blm protestors showed up at a town meeting and demanded he not get the job. (said protesters were not black people mind you, but whites who supported blm). were they actual residents of the town? no one thought to ask…
Second, the county seat held a pride event in the park last month and unbeknownst to anyone in the planning committee someone paid for a well known drag queen to read to children…once that was discovered it was shut down.
Third, a transvestite has moved into a trailer park in the small town where i get my hair done. he has been seen parading (and yes that is what it looks like–parading) around the streets in his stacked heels (he looks to be about 6 ft without them) and fishnet stockings and mini skirts. He pays serious amounts of attention to young children. he moved here from Vegas and has already been arrested twice and released.

these events stick out like sore thumbs here…are we being targeted?????

    1. Holy cow! What on earth is happening to rural PA??!!?? They need to leave that poor officer alone! I’ll bet dollars to donuts he felt absolutely terrible about shooting the boy but, IIRC, they had removed the orange plastic plug that would have identified it as a play gun so I don’t see where he had any choice, personally.

      1. my hairdresser is a huge supporter of law enforcement–and she said she would have preferred if the officer was allowed to address the community–instead of the protestors just demanding he not be hired and getting their way…
and as i stated, they didn’t even ask the protestors if they were residents–perhaps they were–but maybe they were not…just a spiteful group that intended to ruin that man’s life wherever he goes…
and a jury did acquit the man…

That’s one thing about Trump that intrigues me – he truly is a narcissist but he is also incredibly generous, both with his money and with his praise, the freedom he gives his employees to succeed – indeed, he helps them on that path. Yes, he appreciates a woman’s beauty and sexuality but he equally appreciates her intelligence. Strange mix…..and, as in this case, much more thoughtful than one would expect.

  12. our home is built into the mountain somewhat (the foundation in the back of the house is below groundlevel. This makes it an excellent wine storing place.) Anyway, there is a small hill on the side of the house that we flattened and where we put all the large flat rocks we dug out of the ground in digging the foundation. I arranged the stones, filled in the spaces with small white rocks and we put a wrought iron garden bench and a fire pit on top–it’s a nice little sitting area. except this snake insists on moving the little rocks away from a larger rock so he can live beneath it. we’ve sprayed, we dumped water down there…and still it persists.
hubby sprayed weed killer among the stones last week and i thought that might do it. nope! just looking out the window which overlooks that stone area and there was a hole next to the big rock and a snake poking his jead out of it!
    dang it!

Seems Michigan governor Whitmer wasn’t just a passive player in the entire FBI hoax kidnapping ploy.

    https://amgreatness.com/2022/07/11/as-whitmer-plays-the-victim-the-justice-department-moves-to-conceal-more-evidence/

It appears that Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, and possibly one of her top advisors, were accomplices, not innocents, in a “foiled” kidnapping plot.

At some point during the summer of 2020, Whitmer told her family “there was going to be a story coming out soon about ‘some people plotting to kidnap and kill me.’” That disclosure, according to Whitmer, happened a few months after an anti-lockdown protest at the Lansing Capitol building in late April 2020.

Law enforcement made the arrests on October 7, 2020—fall, not summer. Whitmer for her part was ready to go the next day with a distraught video message blaming Donald Trump for inciting right-wing “militias” to attack her.

  19. Interesting article……

EXCERPT: “Noam Chomsky, John Pilger, and Chris Hedges have lent their expertise to the subject of the war in Ukraine with some recent comments that help bring some much-needed clarity to an often confusing and always contentious issue. Here they are:

“I’ve spent my career working in the mainstream, and I’ve covered probably seven, eight, nine shooting wars; I’ve never seen coverage so utterly consumed by a tsunami of jingoism, and of manipulative jingoism as this one.”
    ~ John Pilger

This comment comes from a recent interview with the legendary Australian journalist by the South China Morning Post, and it says so much about the information ecosystem we now find ourselves floundering around trying to understand things in.

From the earliest days of the invasion it was clear that the western world was being smashed with a deluge of propaganda unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. In the first full month of the conflict, American network TV stations gave more coverage to the war in Ukraine than any other war that the US has been directly involved in, including Iraq and Vietnam.

Literal Iraq war architects were some of the first pundits sought out for analysis of the conflict by the mainstream press, and calls for insane escalations against Russia succeeded in pushing the Overton window of acceptable debate in the direction of warmongering extremism and away from support for diplomatic solutions. And this was all easily piped into mainstream consciousness because the way had been lubricated by years of Russia hysterica resulting from the mass scale psychological operation known as Russiagate.

America’s most dangerous confrontation in generations just so happens to have been preceded by years of media-generated panic about that very same country, despite the Ukraine invasion having ostensibly nothing whatsoever to do with the conspiracy theory that the Kremlin had infiltrated the highest levels of the US government. Heckin’ heck of a coincidence right there, buddy boy.

“It’s quite interesting that in American discourse, it is almost obligatory to refer to the invasion as the ‘unprovoked invasion of Ukraine’. Look it up on Google, you will find hundreds of thousands of hits. Of course, it was provoked. Otherwise they wouldn’t refer to it all the time as an unprovoked invasion.”
    ~ Noam Chomsky

This quote, from an interview last month with Ramzy Baroud, is self-evidently true and should be pointed out more often.

People don’t go adding the same gratuitous adjectives and modifiers to something over and over again unless they’re trying to manipulate how it’s perceived. If your neighbor always referred to his wife as “my wife who I definitely never beat,” you’d immediately become suspicious because that’s not how normal people talk about normal things. We don’t say “round Earth” or “the Holocaust that totally happened,” we just say the words, because their basic nature is not seriously in dispute and we’ve got nothing invested in manipulating or obfuscating people’s understanding about them.

The need of the political/media class to continually bleat this phrase “unprovoked invasion” over and over again is itself a confession that they know they’re not telling the whole truth. It’s the imperial propaganda version of this classic tweet:

    https://americafirstreport.com/three-illuminating-quotes-about-the-war-in-ukraine/

    Liked by 1 person

    1. “The invasion could easily have been prevented with a little diplomacy and some low-cost, high-reward concessions like honoring the Minsk agreements and providing assurances of neutrality for Ukraine, but they chose provocation and escalation instead. Add to that the exponentially increased shelling of the Donbas by Kyiv immediately prior to the invasion and you can understand why empire spinmeisters are working so hard to push the “unprovoked” line.

None of this is to say that Russia is blameless in this war; if I provoke someone into punching somebody they are still morally responsible for having thrown the punch, but I am also responsible for having provoked it. Russia is responsible for its actions, and the US/NATO/Ukraine power structure is responsible for its actions. Putin is responsible for invading, the western empire is responsible for provoking that invasion. Not complicated.

In the same interview Chomsky also says that “censorship in the United States has reached such a level beyond anything in my lifetime” regarding this war. That assessment plus Pilger’s testimony about war propaganda unlike anything he’s ever seen shows that imperial narrative management is at an all-time high, which wouldn’t be happening unless the empire had some major agendas it wanted to roll out in the coming years.

“At no time, including the Cuban missile crisis, have we stood closer to the precipice of nuclear war.”
      ~ Chris Hedges”

  20. From Chris Hedges:

EXCERPT: “The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), and the arms industry that depends on it for billions in profits, has become the most aggressive and dangerous military alliance on the planet. Created in 1949 to thwart Soviet expansion into Eastern and Central Europe, it has evolved into a global war machine in Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, Africa and Asia.

NATO expanded its footprint, violating promises to Moscow, once the Cold War ended, to incorporate 14 countries in Eastern and Central Europe into the alliance. It will soon add Finland and Sweden. It bombed Bosnia, Serbia and Kosovo. It launched wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Libya, resulting in close to a million deaths and some 38 million people driven from their homes. It is building a military footprint in Africa and Asia. It invited Australia, Japan, New Zealand and South Korea, the so-called “Asia Pacific Four,” to its recent summit in Madrid at the end of June. It has expanded its reach into the Southern Hemisphere, signing a military training partnership agreement with Colombia, in December 2021.

It has backed Turkey, with NATO’s second largest military, which has illegally invaded and occupied parts of Syria as well as Iraq. Turkish-backed militias are engaged in the ethnic cleansing of Syrian Kurds and other inhabitants of north and east Syria. The Turkish military has been accused of war crimes – including multiple airstrikes against a refugee camp and chemical weapons use – in northern Iraq. In exchange for President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s permission for Finland and Sweden to join the alliance, the two Nordic countries have agreed to expand their domestic terror laws making it easier to crack down on Kurdish and other activists, lift their restrictions on selling arms to Turkey and deny support to the Kurdish-led movement for democratic autonomy in Syria.

It is quite a record for a military alliance that with the collapse of the Soviet Union was rendered obsolete and should have been dismantled. NATO and the militarists had no intention of embracing the “peace dividend,” fostering a world based on diplomacy, a respect of spheres of influence and mutual cooperation. It was determined to stay in business. Its business is war. That meant expanding its war machine far beyond the border of Europe and engaging in ceaseless antagonism toward China and Russia.”

We also now believe we know the handoff point for the white van.
The device’s pattern of life that night are very interesting. The only time this device has ever been in Michigan was November 3-4, 2020.

  22. EXCERPT: “”The college attempted to avoid the legal ramifications of its actions by changing its free speech policies after the incident.

Once Uzuegbunam’s case reached the Supreme Court, however, it was decided that a plaintiff is still entitled to damages from violations of their constitutional rights even if they subsequently were granted relief from the violation, as occurred with GGC’s policy change.

Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) attorney Travis Barham, who represented Uzuegbunam and Bradford in the case, told Campus Reform that “[f]or years after [GGC] violated his rights, GGC officials tried to dodge accountability, as if the rights they violated did not really matter. But the U.S. Supreme Court ruled 8-1 in Chike’s favor, saying that government officials do not get a free pass when they violate our liberties.”

In a January 2021 op-ed for The Washington Post, Uzuegbunam expressed his gratitude for the freedoms America has to offer, and explained what brought him to bring his case to the Supreme Court. He shared the story of his parents immigrating to the US from Nigeria and the values which they helped instill in him.

“They…taught [me] that in this land where liberty is precious, citizens have a duty to defend it when they see freedoms infringed. That is how I came to have a case before the Supreme Court that will be heard on Tuesday.”

Howard is 95 and lives in a senior citizen’s home. Every night after dinner, Howard goes to a secluded garden behind the center to sit and ponder his accomplishments and long life. One evening, Annabel, age 87, wanders into the garden. They begin to chat, and before they know it, several hours have passed. After a short lull in their conversation, Howard turns to Annabel and asks, “Do you know what I miss most of all?”

She asks “What?” He replies “SEX!!!” Annabel exclaims, “Why you old fart, you couldn’t get it up if I held a gun to your head!” “I know”, Howard says, “but it would be nice if a woman just held it for a while.” “Well, I can oblige”, says Annabel, who gently unzips his trousers and removes his manhood and proceeds to hold it. Afterward, they agree to meet secretly each night in the garden where they would sit and talk and Annabel would hold Howard’s manhood.

Then, one night, Howard didn’t show up at their usual meeting place. Alarmed, Annabel decided to find Howard and make sure that he was O.K. She walked around the home until she found him sitting by the pool with another female resident who was holding Howard’s manhood!

Furious, Annabel yelled, “You two-timing creep! What does she have that I don’t have?!?” Howard smiled and replied……………”Parkinson’s”

In the early days of mixed play, an English couple, an Irish couple and a Scottish couple are at the links ready to tee off. The Englishman’s wife steps up to the tee first and as she bends over to place ball a gust of wind blows her skirt up and reveals her lack of underwear.

“Allo! Why aren’t you wearing any knickers?” her husband demanded. “Well, you don’t give me enough housekeeping money to afford to buy any!” The Brit immediately reaches into his pocket and says, “For the sake of St. Paul, here’s pounds 50. Go and buy yourself some underwear.”

Next the Irishman’s wife bends over to set her ball on the tee. Her skirt blows up to show that she is wearing no undies. “Bejesus woman! You’ve no knickers! Why not?” She replies, “I can’t afford any on the money you give me!” He reaches into his pocket and says, “For the sake of St. Patrick, here’s 20 pounds. Go and buy yourself some underwear!”

Lastly, the Scotsman’s wife bends over. The wind also takes her skirt over her head to reveal that she too is naked under it. “Hoot mon woman! Why d’ye have nae knickers?” She too explains, “You nae give me enough housekeeping money to be able to afford any!” The Scot reaches into his pocket and says, “For the sake of St. Andrew, lass, here’s a comb. Tidy yourself up a wee bit.”
