Flying has captured the human imagination for centuries. Whenever there is an issue regarding a flight of any kind, it grabs our attention. A plane crash, mechanical issues, airport power outages, storms, even fights among passengers make headlines. Yet, what if someone stole a small aircraft, took off without control tower clearance, then landed it on a busy Manhattan street, got out and went into a bar to have a drink?
In today’s era of fear, the pilot would be arrested as a terrorist. Imagine an aviator pulling this stunt in 1956, during the height of the Cold War and drunk. This is the story of one such aviator. When the Second World War began, pilots and mechanics became an essential part of both the Axis and Allied war efforts. Wars provided men and women with opportunities to learn all about flying.
Thomas Fitzpatrick was one such boy. He grew up in Washington Heights and was born on April 24, 1930. Tommy lied about his age and enlisted into the Marine Corps and fought in the Pacific during the Second World War. When the war ended he was honorably discharged and returned home.
Then, in 1949, he joined the US Army and fought in the Korean War. Corporal Fitzpatrick received the Silver Star and Purple Heart after he was “seriously wounded” and attempted to rescue fellow soldiers “despite severe pain and loss of blood.” Again he was honorably discharged and returned home from war. Tommy Fitz, as he was called, became a steamfitter in his civilian life. The work required long hours working in the hot and cramped underbelly of New York buildings.
On the side he was a part-time airplane mechanic at the Tetterboro School of Aeronautics in New Jersey. He was also learning how to fly and logging in hours for his pilot’s license. By the age of 26, Tommy Fitz was a veteran of two wars, was a union steamfitter, and was involved in the fast-growing aviation industry.
Unwinding with Booze
In typical fashion, Tommy and his fellow blue collar workers in the construction trades ended their days by visiting a local tavern. The handwork and long hours involved with being steamfitter required some time to unwind before heading home to engage in domestic duties. Joe’s Bar on 191st Street was a frequent hangout for Tommy Fitz and his coworkers.
One night a debate raged among the bar’s patrons. Was it possible to fly from New Jersey to Washington Heights in 15 minutes? Full of the drink, Tommy accepted the challenge and left the bar. He headed across the Hudson River to Teeterboro Airport.
On Saturday night, September 29, 1956, Thomas Fitzpatrick arrived at Teeterboro, selected a small red and white Cessna 140, and began his flight. He flew the plane over Washington Heights and landed it near Joe’s Bar on St. Nicholas Avenue near 191st street. The drunk pilot was able to maneuver the plane’s 32 foot wing span and land it safely on the roadway lined on either side by buildings. He then taxied the plane up to Joe’s Bar, shut off the engine, and went inside for a celebratory beer just before the 3 am last call.
A plane landing on a Manhattan street at 3 am garnered the attention of the local police. The police arrived at Joe’s Bar where Fitz told them that he had suffered “unexpected engine trouble” and was forced to land. He admitted to borrowing the plane because, while drinking, he suddenly had “an urge to fly.” After the police aviation department examined the plane, they determined that there was no engine trouble and Tommy Fitz was simply flying drunk. He was arrested and the plane was dismantled and moved to a nearby police station.
A judge set Tommy’s bail at $5,000 and charged him with grand larceny, which was a felony, as well as violating the city’s municipal code that forbid landing airplanes on any streets in New York City. The judge stated that “many terrible things could have happened” and he did not want Tommy Fitz to perform such a stunt again. Eventually, the grand larceny charge was dropped when the owner of the plane refused to sign a complaint.
Some in the police department were in awe of Tommy’s drunken accomplishment. One sergeant in the Police Aviation Bureau proclaimed that flying a plane drunk and managing to land it safely between New York buildings was a “100,000 to one shot” and a “feat of aeronautics.” Eventually, Tommy was found guilty and fined $100. His pilot’s license was suspended for six months. After his late-night flight, Tommy Fitz claimed he had no desire to fly again and never renewed his license.
Deja Vu
Thomas Fitzpatrick got married in June 1958. He and his bride, Helen, settled in New Jersey while Tommy continued to work as a steamfitter. After visiting his old stomping grounds on October 4, 1958, Tommy Fitz went into a bar for a drink. As the drinks flowed the stories grew.
When one bar patron told another that Tommy Fitz had landed an airplane on St. Nicholas Avenue and 181st Street they simply did not believe it. Tommy Fitz got up from his barstool, left the bar, drove to Teterboro Airport, and selected a plane. At 12:20 am, the control tower at Teterboro Airport watched Fitz take off in a Cessna 120 without proper clearance, radio contact, or navigation lights.
Just after 12:35 am, a bus driver at Amsterdam Avenue and 191st Street saw a plane in the rear mirrors coming in for a landing. According to the bus driver, the plane landed next to the bus, bouncing 20 feet up upon contact with the ground and then bounced again and “taxied down to 187th Street.” The bus driver, Harvey Roffe, fled from his bus and ran down to 187th street to see the plane. By the time that he arrived, the pilot was gone. Another witness to the plane’s landing told police that he saw a man who was “tall, blond, and husky wearing a gray suit” fleeing from the plane.
Once again the borrowed plane was in fine working order. It even had 3/4 full tank of fuel! As the police began to draw parallels to the plane landing event from two years earlier, Tommy Fitzpatrick became a person of interest. Upon his first round of questioning, he denied everything.
When a witness identified Fitzpatrick as the man who fled the plane and the police told him that his finger prints were all over the plane, he admitted to borrowing the plane and landing it on Amsterdam Avenue.
Thomas Fitzpatrick was again charged with grand larceny and violating the city’s codes of landing a plane on a New York City street. He was also charged with “dangerous and reckless operation of an aircraft.” Fitzpatrick was held on a $10,000 bond. On January 26, 1959, Thomas Fitzpatrick pled guilty for bringing stolen property into the state of New York.
The judge proclaimed that Fitzpatrick was most certainly drunk and flew the plane when “dared by a drinking companion.” Then the judge proclaimed that despite Thomas Fitzpatrick’s exemplary civil and military record and the completion of two “miraculous” landings, he was sentenced to six months in jail.
Upon his release from prison, Tommy Fitz returned to working as a union steamfitter. He and his wife, Helen, raised their three sons in Washington Township in Bergen County, New Jersey.
Tommy Fitz was an active member of his community belonging to a VFW Post, the Men’s Club at his church, along with other civic organizations. After a battle with cancer, Thomas Fitzpatrick died on September 14, 2009, just past the 53rd anniversary of his first plane landing on a New York City street.
A drink consisting of Kahlua, vodka, Chambord, blackberries, egg white, and simple syrup was named in Tommy Fitz’s honor and known as the “Late Night Flight.”
Assembled by Danny Beason of New Leaf, in the Manhattan neighborhood where Fitzpatrick landed his plane twice.
Ingredients:
1/2 Ounce Kahlua, 1 1/2 Ounce Vodka, 1/2 Ounce Chambord, 5 Blackberries, 1 Egg White, Dash Simple Syrup
Instructions:
The idea here is to create a layered representation of NYC’s nighttime sky. Pour Kahlua into the base of a cocktail glass. In a separate mixing glass, muddle the blackberries, add Chambord and one ounce of vodka, and shake with ice. Strain carefully into a layer over the Kahlua.
In another mixing glass, shake egg white, syrup, and remaining half ounce of vodka — without ice — to create an emulsion. Layer this fluffy white foam on top – like the clouds through which Mr. Fitzpatrick piloted.
Sip and enjoy, preferably far from any enticing airfields.

Oh, hell, I don’t remember now where I pulled the info from. I could find it but….that shouldn’t make any difference once I’ve uploaded them to Imgur. They show up in the comment thread! This makes no sense, Pat!

when i upload a photo to imgur from let’s say my pictures file on the computer…once the image is uploaded to imgur I can click on the 3 little dots in the corner of the image and i get a bunch of optiond–like copy image link (like i do when i copy a photo from the internet)
when i tried to do that with the airplane photo, the only options there were embed or download.
so i tried right click– the save as option– and saved it to my computer then did it the same way I always do with imgur and was able to get a copy image link…

because in order to schedule a draft, I have to go into edit…the only thing i do is schedule, but maybe that screws it up.

nothing criminal? just a mix up? kids being served floor sealant instead of milk sounds criminal to me
FTA
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — A dozen children and two adults were served floor sealant instead of milk at a day care summer program at an Alaska elementary school after containers were apparently mixed up, the school district superintendent said Wednesday.
Several students complained of burning sensations in their mouth and throats, and at least one child was treated at a hospital after the Tuesday morning incident in Juneau, Superintendent Bridget Weiss said.
Juneau police are leading the investigation of how the mix-up occurred, “not really because we believe there’s anything criminal or mal-intent at this point, but we do want a thorough investigation of what happened, how it happened, and they’re trained investigators,” Weiss said.
The incident happened while students in the day care program at Sitʼ Eeti Shaanáx̱-Glacier Valley Elementary in Alaska’s capital city were served breakfast. The program is for kids ages 5 to 12.
All food items including milk from a dispenser were provided by a contractor and served by staff. The breakfast items were put on trays, which students took to tables to eat.
Shortly after, children began complaining that the milk tasted bad and caused burning sensations in their mouths and throats.
After school district and contract personnel looked at the container label, it was discovered the clear plastic bag of milk that had been placed in the dispenser was actually a floor sealant that resembles the milk.
Poison control officials were contacted as well as parents. Two of the children who were picked up by their parents may have sought medical advice, the district said.

Bobert suing muckrakers for false claims. apparently she ALSO has their internal texts and communications in which they reveal they know the allegations are false and are going with them anyway.
FTA
Anderson noted that proving a defamation case against a public figure has a “heightened standard of proof” and said that what “is legally, and financially, disastrous for Muckrakers is the fact that we also have evidence, including internal Muckrakers’ text and email communications, that demonstrates Muckrakers did in fact publish statements knowing those statements to be false.”
“In addition to the civil defamation claims that will be filed, Muckrakers’ actions are criminally liable. Colorado statute expressly prohibits the circulation of ‘knowingly or recklessly’ false information meant to influence an election,” Anderson wrote. “In addition, Wheeler also sent letters to the State of Utah and State of Colorado requesting an investigation. Wheeler’s letters contain multiple knowingly false statements.”
The press release accuses Boebert of working as an “unlicensed escort” for the sugar daddy website and that she met Senator Ted Cruz, R-Texas, when hired by a “Koch family member” in Aspen, Colorado. The release also claimed the congresswoman had a pair of abortions and said that the allegations came from an anonymous source.
Additionally, the release included heavily redacted text messages where the PAC staffer appeared to lead the unknown person on the other end to suggest Boebert was blackmailing Cruz for political backing as well as photos of a woman the PAC claimed to be Boebert from her sugar daddy website page.
The text messages also claimed Boebert and her husband had a “Meth drug problem” and that the congresswoman was “stripping at the time,” as well.

“While Americans are suffering under record inflation and skyrocketing gas prices, House Democrats are focused on gender-neutral bathrooms in their office buildings,” Republican Rep. GOP Rep. Rodney Davis of Illinois described the bathroom advocacy as “just the latest example of House Democrats’ misplaced priorities.”
“With soaring gas prices, baby formula shortages, rising crime, and a border crisis, this is what they choose to focus on,” he noted, according to Fox News. “The American People are tired of it, as Democrats will learn the hard way come November.”

Oh, last night – I am in a mood because of last night…..I mowed, then noticed how bad all the cotton looks in my yard. This was the worst year EVER with the Cottonwood tree! So I set about trying to rake some of it up (it was piled up at the fence line and actually on the fencing itself) but, having just mowed, it was kind of damp. I’m hoping with today’s heat, it will dry up a bit. They’re predicting up to 99 by next Monday!!!
You should see the pile I’ve got in the yard and I’m not even close to being done! I worked until it was too dark to see and yes, pulled some of the new vines but haven’t tackled any more of the roots yet. Once I get going, it’s hard to stop – I see this, that and the other thing and, of course, need to do it RIGHT NOW! I noticed all the ants in the front feeder so took that down and washed it, then went and greased the pole again with Vaseline to stop them. The heat today will probably cause it all to melt and run off and it will be filled with ants again. The Hummers don’t like the ants and won’t feed but the Orioles don’t GAS!
I didn’t get to bed until after midnight and then had trouble sleeping. Woke up at 4 am, rolled over and dozed for another couple of hours. So I am not in the best of moods by any means!
I also realize that the tree really needs to come down but it would cost me close to $1K to do that. That is NOT happening!

No, it is useless except for spreading their seeds. You can stop it by spraying it every year but how on earth am I supposed to reach all of the leaves when the danged thing is at least 75 feet tall!?!?! I haven’t called to get any quotes but the guy I used in 2014 (who only charged me $600 to trim several trees, take down 3 trees, w/an extra $50 for stump grinding) isn’t doing it any more. I called him last year and he is in poor health (not COVID). IDT anyone else in the area does it so it would have to be someone from Norfolk and they would charge an arm and a leg to come up here. If it were close to any power lines, I could get the city to take it down but that isn’t the case, unfortunately.

we’re back to strongly worded letters…again…but this time not even signed by a majority of repubs…cowards
entire article from american thinker
Citing the Justice Department’s lenient treatment of left-wing rioters compared to the harsh treatment of Jan. 6, 2021 rioters at the Capitol, including many who “are not accused of entering the Capitol or committing violence,” Rep. Jim Banks (R.-Ind.), in a two-page letter dated June 14, 2022, accused Attorney General Merrick Garland of leading “a two-tiered system of Justice” at the Department of Justice.
Congressman Banks asserted: “Violent rioters who are likely to vote Democrats [sic] are often released with a slap on the wrist, or less, while January 6th defendants are prosecuted to the harshest extent possible.”
Asserting that “the unequal application of justice is an injustice,” Mr. Banks accused the attorney general of politicizing federal law, thereby assaulting “the basic American principle of equal justice under the law.
Representative Banks opened his letter to Mr. Garland by noting that the Justice Department had dropped the arson case against Victor A. Sanchez-Santa. On June 18, 2020, Mr. Sanchez-Santa set a cloth glove on fire and put the glove under a New York City police car. The incident was reported in the New York media, including a report from NBC News.
A press release from the office of the U.S. attorney for the South District of New York pointed out that the accused had targeted law enforcement.
The release also quoted Fire Commissioner Daniel Nigro: “Arson is a callous act that simultaneously puts the lives of New Yorkers and first responders in danger.”
The congressman indicated that while arson carries a prison sentence up to 20 years, Mr. Sanchez-Santa was given nine months’ probation and required to take a course in anger management. Mr. Banks also called attention to sentences given two Manhattan attorneys who hurled Molotov cocktails at a New York City police are in May 2020. Although liable to up to ten years in federal prison, the congressman noted that they will serve two years or less.
Rep. Banks then took an overview of the leftist riots, summer 2020, in most large U.S. cities, “costing an estimated $1-2 billion” in damage to property,, “at least a dozen deaths, and injuring about 2,000 police officers.” He cited a report in Politico indicating that the unrest in Portland, summer of 2020 will no result in criminal convictions, and a Wall Street Journal story that the Department of Justice will not prosecute “half of all the rioters arrested on federal charges in Portland.”
“In sharp contrast,” the Banks letter to the attorney general continued, “the Justice Department has vigorously prosecuted defendants accused of participating in the January 6 raid at the Capitol. To date, the Justice Department has filed charges against at least 862 Americans and dropped just a handful of those charges. Multiple defendants are being charged with ‘trespassing on restricted grounds’ but are not accused of entering the Capitol or committing violence. This observation prompts the question: what grounds outside the Capitol are “restricted?”
Congressman Banks concluded his letter by calling on the attorney general to provide his office, “[n]o later than June 24, 2022” with the material in the Sanchez-Santa file that caused the Justice Department “not to prosecute Mr. Sanchez-Santa for setting a police car on fire.”
Jim Banks should be applauded by civil libertarians for speaking out against “the two-tiered system of Justice” carried out by the Biden Administration (not to mention being thankful that Garland was blocked from membership on the Supreme Court). This observer might be excused, however, for regretting that the good Banks letter to the attorney general was not co-signed by every GOP member of the House of Representatives — save two, of course.

EXCERPT: “(Natural News) The Fed raised interest rates by 0.75% today (75 basis points), fulfilling their promise to attempt to reverse the runaway inflation that they caused in the first place by printing trillions of dollars and flooding the markets with cheap or nearly-free funds (zero percent interest rates, for example).
As of right now, America’s real estate bubble is now in the process of a catastrophic collapse. The stock market is collapsing and the crypto universe is absolutely imploding. “The crypto apocalypse is here,” writes Michael Snyder from End of the American Dream:
‘Over the last seven months, we have witnessed a cryptocurrency collapse that is so epic that it is truly difficult to put it into words… approximately two-thirds of the value of all cryptocurrencies has already been wiped out. Some are calling this a “crash”, but the truth is that this is the sort of full-blown “collapse” that so many have been warning about for such a long time. A lot of crypto investors are now deeply in the red, and the outlook for the months ahead is very bleak.’
Meanwhile, the average stock portfolio is down 31% this year alone, and the downside still remaining now looks like a deep, ominous chasm of financial devastation that’s going to suck the vast majority of American into financial destitution.
You see, while everybody’s assets are plummeting, the prices of the things they need to buy keep skyrocketing. Everything people own is going to collapse in value, while nearly everything people buy is going to double or triple in price. The real estate bubble will now collapse, however, which may offer some relief for those trying to rent or purchase new homes. But for the tens of millions of people already locked into bubble-priced mortgages and rent contracts, the pain of paying too much won’t be easily reversed.
The truth is that most assets have been Ponzi schemes for many years or even decades. The stock market hasn’t operated from fiscal reality since the 1980s, and the fiat currency dollar has been living in a delusional fairy tale land since Nixon took it off the gold standard in 1971.
The real estate asset price explosion was just an expression of low interest rates and cheap money, while the crypto universe was a grand social experiment that primarily served as a new generation’s “dot com bubble” where they ultimately learn an expensive (but valuable) lesson in the seduction and false promise of seemingly becoming wealthy without work. Too many crypto pioneers thought they could recreate the laws of economics by simply claiming absurd things that aren’t true, like “we don’t need intrinsic value, our token is backed by an algorithm.” That’s the crypto equivalent of the biological fantasy that claims “men can get pregnant,” which is why I call the crypto Ponzi schemes “financial transgenderism.”

EXCERPT: “An independent German journalist is being targeted by her government for documenting the ongoing atrocities by the Ukrainian government in the Donbas region. Alina Lipp claims the German government has opened a criminal case against her and frozen her and her father’s bank accounts pending a trial that she is forbidden to appear at over her reporting of Russia’s military operation in the Donbas region over the last several months.
“I’m an independent German journalist living in Donetsk. I’m living here for half a year now telling Germans what is going on in the Donbas region in the Ukraine. And for that, the German authorities have started to persecute me,” Lipp explained on video.
(Twitter is censoring the Tweet or I would post it – you have to sign in to view)
“First, they deleted my material on the internet, then they blocked my bank account, blocked the bank account of my father, and yesterday I got this letter from German authorities that they opened now a criminal case against me.”
Lipp went over the government documents accusing her reporting of the genocidal acts by Ukraine against the people of the Donbas region as a violation of the law. “These are the documents, and for Germans, support of the special operation of Russia in the Ukraine is already a criminal act, for which you can obviously get 3 years in prison,” Lipp said.
“What is interesting, in the end of the letter, they are writing that they are not going to invite me to a hearing because this would disturb the investigations. That’s very interesting. So they are persecuting me but don’t want to hear me out,” she added.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian government had labeled Lipp as a “Russian terrorist” in March over her reporting on Donbas that undermined its narrative that Ukraine is the victim.”

EXCERPT: “The true catalyst behind the Ukraine conflict is rooted in the Ukraine government-sanctioned genocide of the Russian-speaking people of the Donbas region, according to a retired Swiss military-intelligence officer and top UN official.
Jacques Baud, a former colonel of the Swiss strategic intelligence, who specialized on Eastern European countries and served as Policy Chief for United Nations Peace Operations, explained the roots of the Ukraine-Russia war in an essay published last month in the Centre Français de Recherche sur le Renseignement that was later translated to English in The Postil.
In his essay entitled, “The Military Situation In The Ukraine“, Baud explained the immediate situation that sparked Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was Ukraine’s accelerated artillery shelling of the Donbas region, specifically the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and the Luhansk People’s Republic (LNR).
“On 17 February, President Joe Biden announced that Russia would attack Ukraine in the next few days. How did he know this? It is a mystery. But since the 16th, the artillery shelling of the population of Donbass had increased dramatically, as the daily reports of the OSCE observers show,” Baud wrote.
“Naturally, neither the media, nor the European Union, nor NATO, nor any Western government reacted or intervened. It would be said later that this was Russian disinformation. In fact, it seems that the European Union and some countries have deliberately kept silent about the massacre of the Donbass population, knowing that this would provoke a Russian intervention.”
But other conditions implemented by Western powers also laid the groundwork for an eventual military response by Russia, Baud says, including Ukraine’s commissioning of radical paramilitary groups like the Azov Battalion to carry out massacres, tortures, and rapes of the Russian-speaking Donbas people following the Soros-backed coup of Ukraine’s government in 2014.
“These militias had been operating in the Donbass since 2014, with Western support. Even if one can argue about the term ‘Nazi,’ the fact remains that these militias are violent, convey a nauseating ideology and are virulently anti-Semitic…[and] are composed of fanatical and brutal individuals,” Baud wrote.
Tensions with Russia sharply escalated with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky’s decree in March 2021 to recapture Crimea, accompanied by NATO exercises in the Black Sea, drone strike operations by Ukraine over the Donbas region in October 2021, and even reports of chemical weapon false flag efforts by CIA-backed saboteurs in the Donbas region in January 2022.
“At the same time, there were reports of sabotage in the Donbass. On 18 January, Donbass fighters intercepted saboteurs, who spoke Polish and were equipped with Western equipment and who were seeking to create chemical incidents in Gorlivka. They could have been CIA mercenaries, led or ‘advised’ by Americans and composed of Ukrainian or European fighters, to carry out sabotage actions in the Donbass Republics,” Baud noted.
This series of provocative actions prompted Russian President Vladimir Putin to recognize the independence of the DPR and LNR in Ukraine in early February 2022.
Baud explained that once the heavy artillery shelling of the Donbas population accelerated in February, the DNR and LNR asked Russia for military intervention, proving that Ukraine actually started the war on February 16, days before Russia invaded, which was hidden by Western media.”

From the essay: “Let’s try to examine the roots of the conflict. It starts with those who for the last eight years have been talking about “separatists” or “independentists” from Donbass. This is not true. The referendums conducted by the two self-proclaimed Republics of Donetsk and Lugansk in May 2014, were not referendums of “independence” (независимость), as some unscrupulous journalists have claimed, but referendums of “self-determination” or “autonomy” (самостоятельность). The qualifier “pro-Russian” suggests that Russia was a party to the conflict, which was not the case, and the term “Russian speakers” would have been more honest. Moreover, these referendums were conducted against the advice of Vladimir Putin.
In fact, these Republics were not seeking to separate from Ukraine, but to have a status of autonomy, guaranteeing them the use of the Russian language as an official language. For the first legislative act of the new government resulting from the overthrow of President Yanukovych, was the abolition, on February 23, 2014, of the Kivalov-Kolesnichenko law of 2012 that made Russian an official language. A bit like if putschists decided that French and Italian would no longer be official languages in Switzerland.
This decision caused a storm in the Russian-speaking population. The result was a fierce repression against the Russian-speaking regions (Odessa, Dnepropetrovsk, Kharkov, Lugansk and Donetsk) which was carried out beginning in February 2014 and led to a militarization of the situation and some massacres (in Odessa and Marioupol, for the most notable). At the end of summer 2014, only the self-proclaimed Republics of Donetsk and Lugansk remained.
At this stage, too rigid and engrossed in a doctrinaire approach to the art of operations, the Ukrainian general staff subdued the enemy without managing to prevail. The examination of the course of the fighting in 2014-2016 in the Donbass shows that the Ukrainian general staff systematically and mechanically applied the same operative schemes. However, the war waged by the autonomists was very similar to what we observed in the Sahel: highly mobile operations conducted with light means. With a more flexible and less doctrinaire approach, the rebels were able to exploit the inertia of Ukrainian forces to repeatedly “trap” them.
In 2014, when I was at NATO, I was responsible for the fight against the proliferation of small arms, and we were trying to detect Russian arms deliveries to the rebels, to see if Moscow was involved. The information we received then came almost entirely from Polish intelligence services and did not “fit” with the information coming from the OSCE—despite rather crude allegations, there were no deliveries of weapons and military equipment from Russia.
The rebels were armed thanks to the defection of Russian-speaking Ukrainian units that went over to the rebel side. As Ukrainian failures continued, tank, artillery and anti-aircraft battalions swelled the ranks of the autonomists. This is what pushed the Ukrainians to commit to the Minsk Agreements.”

Entire Article @ Townhall: “The House January 6 Committee is not happy with the Capitol Police debunking one of their claims that Congressman Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) gave a tour to people with the express purpose of helping soon-to-be rioters for the attack on the Capitol building the next day.
Capitol Police Chief J. Thomas Manger sent a letter to Congressman Rodney Davis (D-IL) explaining Loudermilk provided a tour to constituents on January 5, 2021, within the House office buildings, not the Capitol building itself. Loudermilk eventually left the group as they continued to walk through the office buildings. Because Loudermilk was no longer with them, they were unable to enter the Capitol building.
Manger said the Capitol officers did not “consider any of the activities we observed as suspicious.”
Despite the letter from Manger being given to Davis on Monday, the January 6th Committee sent tweets on Wednesday insisting there was something nefarious with what Loudermilk did with his constituents prior to the riot.
The committee further sent another request to Loudermilk for information about the event.”

Well, this is interesting…..from the Fascist Pope:
Entire Article @ BigLeaguePolitics: “During an interview published on June 14, 2022, Pope Francis stated that Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine was “perhaps somehow either provoked or not prevented.” The pope’s statements provoked international outrage due to the conventional wisdom that Russia is 100% at fault and Ukraine was a perfectly innocent bystander in the lead up to this conflict.
The pope made these comments during an interview with La Civiltà Cattolica, which took place in the middle of May but was published on June 14.
“Someone may say to me at this point: but you are pro-Putin! No, I am not,” Francis stated. “It would be simplistic and wrong to say such a thing. I am simply against reducing complexity to the distinction between good guys and bad guys, without reasoning about roots and interests, which are very complex.”
In addition, the pope mentioned a conversation he had with an unnamed head of state before the outbreak of the Russo-Ukrainian conflict. He described this head of state as a “wise man” who told the pope he was worried about the security dilemma that NATO and Russia were involved in.
According to the pope, the unnamed leader said, “They are barking at the gates of Russia. The situation could lead to war.” The pope added, “That head of state was able to read the signs of what was happening.”
The pope was not parroting a purely pro-Russian narrative, however. The pope was critical of Russia’s military operation in Ukraine, and alluded to the “brutality and ferocity” of Russian military forces, and stressed “the heroism of the Ukrainian people.”
The pope’s latest comments came a month following an interview he did with the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera where he said that NATO may have “perhaps facilitated” Russia’s invasion of Ukraine by “barking” at Russia’s door.
While the pope is flimsy on issues like mass migration, he is on to something about the Russo-Ukrainian conflict. Since the Maidan Revolution of 2014, Ukraine has turned into a de facto NATO proxy, with the United States and its allies providing Ukrainian forces with intelligence and military aid to help retake the breakaway republics of Lugansk and Donetsk, while also constructing an anti-Russia project on a nuclear power’s doorstep.
At that point, a conflict became inevitable.
That’s the harsh world of geopolitics — a field most policy “experts” in DC don’t grasp.”

Entire Article @ BB: “Ric Grenell, an ally of former President Trump and his former Acting Director of the U.S. National Intelligence, has unendorsed Arizona U.S. Senate candidate Jim Lamon. Grenell — who launched a group to aggressively promote engagement among California’s unregistered voters after leaving the Trump administration and declining to run in the recall election against Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) — released a statement saying why he “can no longer support his candidacy.”
The Trump ally stated that “growing our conservative movement should be the top priority of every Republican candidate,” which Lamon understood but has since gone away from by “attacking courageous conservatives” and his friend, Peter Thiel, whom Grenell claims has done a lot for the conservative movement.
“The tactics Jim Lamon is now using in his race are wrong, and I can no longer support him,” Grenell explained. Grenell said that attacking Thiel is “a bad strategy that only helps elect Democrats” since Thiel has “been a champion of conservative values in Silicon Valley and has never wavered from challenging Big Tech.”
“I have made clear multiple times that the Jeff Roe strategy of attacking Peter may be profitable for Jeff’s firm now, but it is a losing strategy for our conservative movement,” he finished. Grennell refers to Jeff Roe, the founder of Axiom Strategies, a “full-service GOP political, public affairs, and public relations firm.”
One of Lamon’s Republican opponents is Blake Masters, who is backed by Thiel and is endorsed by former President Donald Trump. In fact, following the announcement of Trump’s endorsement, Lamon melted down in a lengthy statement and released an attack ad on Masters, which falsely claimed he was antisemitic.
Worse for Lamon, the loss of Grenell’s endorsement comes after the Trafalgar Group released a poll on Monday that showed Masters increasing his lead in the Republican primary. He increased by ten points since April and Trump’s endorsement.
The poll showed Masters with 28.9 percent, Mark Brnovich with 23.7 percent, Lamon with 17.2 percent, Michael McGuire with 4.4 percent, and Justin Olson with four percent.

EXCERPT: “Millions of Americans are awaiting the imminent release of the Supreme Court’s ruling in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization abortion case, which is expected to junk Roe v. Wade after half a century of it poisoning the U.S. constitutional order.
But Dobbs isn’t the only decision the Court is releasing this summer, and on Wednesday, Americans got another reminder that the Court is anything but an anti-woke bulwark.
On Wednesday morning, the Court delivered its ruling in the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo v. Texas case. The case is one of countless disputes over the exact rights that Indian tribes have to ignore state laws on their reservations. When the Ysleta tribe came under federal jurisdiction close to forty years ago, it was done with the understanding that the tribe would not use its new federal status to open casinos with slot machines and other forms of high-stakes gambling illegal under Texas law. But later, the Ysleta reneged on this understanding, and sought to create casinos by calling their slot machines “electronic bingo.”
Despite a 6-3 conservative majority on the Court, the case was a win for the Court’s more liberal faction. Justices Amy Coney Barrett and Neil Gorsuch (who authored the decision) joined with Elena Kagan, Stephen Breyer, and Sonia Sotomayor to uphold the Ysleta’s ability to offer their sham bingo games. As Chief Justice Roberts notes in his dissent, this electronic bingo is “about as close to real bingo as Bingo the famous dog.”
Troublingly, Gorsuch’s opinion doesn’t simply dwell on the strict legal dimensions of the case, but waxes about centuries of harm allegedly inflicted on American Indians by the state of Texas.
———————-
Gorsuch’s little digression about wrongs from more than a century ago shouldn’t surprise. As Scott Greer wrote for Revolver just a few weeks ago, Gorsuch has proven himself worryingly open to thought patterns that reflect the values of modern critical race theory.
———————-
Besides throwing Oklahoma into chaos as vengeance for the Trail of Tears, Gorsuch also joined court liberals to rule that non-unanimous jury convictions in criminal cases are illegal. Gorsuch’s reasoning was that, because lawmakers had racist thoughts a century ago when enabling such verdicts, the practice had to be unconstitutional. In 2018, Gorsuch joined four liberals to rule that a Trump Admin policy making it easier to deport illegal immigrants was “unconstitutionally vague.” And in 2020, Gorsuch authored the largest expansion of federal civil rights law in decades, ruling that when the 1964 Civil Rights Act barred discrimination on the basis of “sex,” it somehow also barred discrimination based on sexual orientation or “gender identity,” something nobody in 1964 had ever heard of.”

Oh, Rand….wrong move, bro!!!
Entire Article @ JustTheNews: “Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) plans on campaigning this Friday for Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.), who is facing Katie Britt in the Alabama GOP Senate primary next week.
“Too many in D.C. just want to be part of the swamp and spend like Democrats. Too many stood silently while I fought Fauci and the lockdowns. Too many want more endless wars,” Paul said in his endorsement of Brooks obtained by Just the News.
“It matters what type of Republican you elect in your primary runoff June 21. Mo has proven that he will join me in fighting the mandates, balancing the budget and pushing an America First foreign policy,” the fiscally conservative Kentucky Republican said.
Paul plans on visiting Homewood, Alabama, for a townhall with Brooks this Friday at noon, followed by another in Huntsville at 3 pm. Brooks came in second during May’s primary with less than 30% of the votes compared to Katie Britt, who won nearly 45%, according to the Associated Press.
Former President Donald Trump endorsed Britt in the primary and again in the runoff to ultimately replace retiring Republican Sen. Richard Shelby. Trump unendorsed Brooks, one of his fiercest defenders, in March after he told voters twice that they must look toward the 2022 and 2024 elections.”

EXCERPT: “But all of these gestures pale in comparison to what happened on June 7. In a step that went well beyond mere virtue signaling, the Department of Defense reversed long-standing policy in order to allow HIV positive individuals to serve in the military.
Healthy service members who refuse to get the COVID vaccine will still get the boot, however.
This policy is an intentional slap in the face to the political enemies of the regime. More than half of all HIV positive cases in America continue to occur in gay men—who tend to be overwhelmingly liberal. Those who refuse the COVID vaccine for religious or political reasons are overwhelmingly conservative.
Helping friends and harming enemies: that’s what this boils down to. Our regime hates the straight white men it relies on to provide its globe-trotting firepower. That resentment needs an outlet: hence the Left’s love of ritual humiliation. They know that most of the good ole boys manning the front lines won’t push back. They will line up to be guinea pigs for the biomedical security state without a second thought. They will endure, without complaint, endless hours of sexual harassment training and diversity lectures that imply they are some mixture of rapist and racist.”
America’s fighting men aren’t expected to win wars. They’re expected to toe the company line. Each year tens of thousands of young men sign up to defend freedom and the American way of life in a job that isn’t “just behind a desk.” They are promised a life of adventure and purpose. Instead, they are treated to ideological struggle sessions and harridan commissars pushing propaganda.”

Youngkin makes it a felony in VA to protest outside judges’ homes or courthuses…since the fed isn’t interested in enforcing federal law on the issue…
FTA
More than a week after authorities apprehended a man near Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s home claiming he wanted to kill the justice, Virginia Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin has introduced a budget amendment that would make it a felony to protest outside of a judge or justice’s home with the intent of influencing or intimidating that justice.
Amendment 35 on felonious picketing and demonstrations “creates a Class 6 felony for picketing or demonstrating in or near a court or residence with the intent of interfering with, obstructing, or impeding the administration of justice, or with the intent of influencing or intimidating in the discharge of his or her duty any judge, juror, witness, court officer, or court employee, or any immediate family member of such individuals.”
The move comes after the governor faced strong calls to discipline protestors who demonstrated outside the homes of Supreme Court justices who live in Virginia, such as Justice Samuel Alito and Justice Amy Coney Barrett.
The governor also introduced a companion amendment that would provide funding for the “potential increase in prison bed space associated with creating a new felony.”
“I am asking that the General Assembly help keep our state and federal judges safe,” Youngkin said in a statement announcing the budget amendments.
“I’m grateful for the hard work of leaders in the House and Senate for presenting a budget to me that delivers key priorities for the Commonwealth, these amendments build on that and further our goal to make Virginia the best place to live, work and raise a family,” he added.

EXCERPT: “Today I’ve got exclusive coverage of Fulton County elections — and the obvious fraud being conducted in Georgia using Dominion Voting machines. That’s because I’ve obtained documents from a source who has been in contact with Fulton County election officials, and those documents show that the claims made by Fulton County’s IT Director (and ex-Dominion Voting Systems employee and Nigerian citizen) Dominic Olomo are clearly false.
Let’s recap this story for you: the Fulton County Board of Registration and Elections (BRE) met on May 29th and certified the 2022 Primary Election results — those results were counted, tabulated and provided using Dominion Voting machines.
A week later, on June 5th, Fulton County BRE called an emergency meeting to recertify the election results because their IT Director, Dominic Olomo, claimed that the May 29th results had not been properly counted! So it’s beyond dispute: the May 29th election which used Dominion machines was a failure.
Why had the May 29th results not been properly counted — according to Fulton County IT Director Dominic Olomo? He claimed that poll workers had not properly pulled vote results from the machines.
(Click here for more video on the Fulton County fraud.)
At the June 5th “emergency recertification” meeting, Fulton County election officials asked for the updated election results, and received none from their own IT director — but they “certified” the election anyway!
This crucial exchange was caught on video.”
—————–
Some members of the Fulton County BRE subsequently consulted with election integrity experts and were told that they needed to specifically request the “batches loaded” reports and the cast-vote record and the poll pad check-in lists from the machines in order to duly certify the election.
The next day, a complaint was filed with the State Election Board about the missing election results at this June 5th meeting.
On June 9th, the Fulton County BRE held its regularly scheduled meeting — but Dominic Olomo did not have any of the election results that he told Fulton County officials that he would provide! Some members of the Fulton County BRE demanded that Dominic Olomo release those specific election records from the machines to them.”

The Loveless Cafe Barn
It makes me sick to my stomach to announce that we’re postponing the 10th Anniversary Cookout…which I’ve been looking forward to for 2 years— [Thanks to the Democrats and RINOS in DC!] All tickets will be refunded in full ASAP.
On average, over 80% of the attendees at our cookouts are from out of town, or out of state. And the vast majority of people drive.
Since we announced the cookout—- many of our dear friends have expressed concerns not only with the price of gas but they’re struggling to pay their day-to-day bills.
This intentional inflation is crushing a lot of our friends..
And while I’m very proud of the 10 year milestones… This is no time to celebrate a victory until we can all celebrate.

So we’re postponing the event until further notice.
In the meantime will have a new episode sooner than you think… And maybe in lieu of the cookout we’re considering a live stream.
Stay tuned.
I love you guys

I’ve never thought he was all that funny, personally. He’s trying to be another Ron White, IMO. Seems to be a nice guy, tho.

True – I’m just spoiled between Foxworthy/Engvall/White and Git ‘er done! Larry the Cable Guy from NE.

I loved these guys!!!
“Join renowned comedians Ron White (“They Call Me Tater Salad”), Jeff Foxworthy (“You Might Be A Redneck If…”), and Bill Engvall (“Here’s Your Sign”) as they perform some of their funniest routines of all time. Fans are sure to relive some of their favorite side-splitting jokes, as well as hear new material they quite possibly have never heard until now! Shot before a live audience at the Las Vegas Hilton in December 1999—this DVD never released in full before 2005, contains 76 minutes of some of the funniest country comedy of all time—from performance footage that has been locked up in a vault until now—proving that what happens in Vegas does not always stay in Vegas!
It is little wonder that following these sold out shows, White, Foxworthy, and Engvall took their comedy on the road as “The Blue Collar Comedy Tour”—a tour which has shattered box office comedy records, produced best-selling live albums, DVDs, and a hit television series! If you love “Blue Collar” comedy, or just love to laugh, don’t miss one of the funniest DVDs you’ll ever see!”
