Judy the English Pointer – POW 81A Gloergoer, Medan

Judy was a ships’ dog on board the HMS Gnat and HMS Grasshopper which were stationed on the Yangtze River before and during World War II. Her ability to hear incoming aircraft provided the crew with early warnings. Judy was transferred, with other crew, from the Gnat to the Grasshopper in June 1939 when the ship was sent to Singapore due to the British declaration of war on Germany. She was on board the ship for the battle of Singapore, which saw the Grasshopper evacuate for the Dutch East Indies. It was sunk en-route, and Judy was nearly killed having been trapped by a falling row of lockers. She was rescued when a crewman returned to the stricken vessel looking for supplies.

HMS Grasshopper

The surviving crew, along with Judy, made their way to Singkep in the Dutch East Indies and then onto Sumatra, with the aim to link up with the evacuating British forces. After trekking across 200 miles of jungle for five weeks, the crew and Judy arrived a day after the final vessel had left and subsequently became prisoners of war of the Japanese. Judy was eventually smuggled into the Medan POW camp, where she met Leading Aircraftsman Frank Williams for the first time. She would go on to spend the rest of her life with him. Williams convinced the camp Commandant to register her as an official prisoner of war, with the number ’81A Gloergoer, Medan’. She was the only dog to be registered as a prisoner of war during the Second World War.

Judy on deck of HMS Grasshopper

Judy moved around several more camps, survived the sinking of the transport ship SS Van Warwyck and saved several prisoners from drowning. Once they had been rescued and upon arrival at a dock, she was found by Les Searle, (of the HMS Grasshopper), who tried to smuggle her onto a truck with him. However, she was discovered by a Japanese Captain who threatened to kill her. This order was countermanded by the newly arrived former Commander of the Medan POW camp and she was allowed to travel with Searle onto the new camp, where she was reunited with Frank Williams.

This camp was on the railway being built between Pekanbaru and Muaro. Here she proved herself useful in conducting trades between the locals and the POW’s, as she would indicate when the locals were hiding near the track. Her barking also alerted the guards to when there was something too large for her to handle in the jungle, such as tigers or elephants. Judy survived by catching snakes and rats for herself and for the men which substituted their diet of maggot infested rice.

Judy’s position at the camps was a treacherous one, as she often interferred whenever the Japanese guards began beating a prisoner, snapping and growling at them, which just resulted in the guards focusing their attention, and aggression, on her.

After the end of the war, Judy’s life was put in danger once again. She was about to be put to death by the Japanese guards following a lice outbreak amongst the prisoners. However, Williams hid the dog until the allied forces arrived. Searle, Williams and others smuggled Judy back to the UK aboard a troop ship where she spent the next six months in quarantine.

Judy wearing medal

She was awarded the Dickin Medal by the People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals which is considered to be the animals version of the Victoria Cross. Her citation read, “For magnificent courage and endurance in Japanese prison camps, which helped to maintain morale among her fellow prisoners and also for saving many lives through her intelligence and watchfulness.”

Besides the medal, she was also the recipient of a serious amount of fanfare that included being “interviewed” by the BBC and having a ceremony held honoring her service on May 3, 1946 in Cadogan Square. She also became a mascot for the RAF.

Judy spent the rest of her life with Williams and continued her globetrotting by traveling with him around Africa. She was ultimately “put to sleep” on February 17, 1950 at the age of 13 as her health had declined significantly due to a tumor. Williams buried her in an RAF coat he had made especially for her and a small monument was erected in her honour.

Her Dickin Medal and collar were put on display at the Imperial War Museum in London as part of ‘The Animal’s War’ exhibition.

  1. Good morning y’all! Got some dust in my eyes or something. That was a great story about Judy. Dogs are great companions. Their loyalty and innocence are some of their best traits. Off to do house work in a few. Gotta have that morning coffee first!

  3. Entire Article @ JustTheNews: “The Tennessee Supreme Court on Friday sided with the state’s Republican Party and issued a ruling to remove Tennessee Republican House candidate Robby Starbuck from the primary ballot.

Starbuck, a longshot candidate was barred from appearing on the 5th Congressional District primary ballot after the party voted to do so in a closed meeting on the grounds that he did not meet the party’s requirements to stand in the race. Starbuck, however, won over the Davidson County Chancery Court last week and secured a ruling in his favor to restore him to the ballot.

Shortly thereafter, the state GOP filed a petition to appeal the ruling, with several high ranking Tennessee Republicans such as Attorney General Herb Slatery among the signatories.

The embattled candidate on Friday announced via Twitter that he had been removed from the ballot. “A very sad day for Tennessee voters who will be disenfranchised by today’s TN Supreme Court decision to overturn the State Court’s order to keep me on the ballot,” he wrote. “As a result, my name has been removed from the ballot. The precedent this sets is shocking.”

“The law now is that parties don’t have to face their voters to explain why they’re removing a candidate,” he continued. “They can just decide they only want a few select party puppet options.” Starbuck went on to highlight that, in Republican-dominant Tennessee, such a practice would effectively mean the party could choose the state’s representatives and officials behind closed doors.

“In a super majority state like ours that means many reps will be SELECTED in secret instead of ELECTED,” he said.

Starbuck appeared on “Just the News, Not Noise” on Tuesday and blamed the party establishment for working against candidates who back former President Donald Trump, saying “[w]e’ve got a lot of establishment people still… in the Republican Party on the state level, and they fear America first candidates.”

The primary will take place on Aug. 4 and will include nine other candidates.”

  4. Entire Article @ The Blaze: “Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said he was considering sending Child Protective Services against people exposing children to drag shows. DeSantis was asked about proposed legislation about children at drag shows during a media briefing on Wednesday.

“We have child protective statutes on the books. We have laws against child endangerment,” said DeSantis, who added that his staff was looking at the law. He went on to reference “disturbing” videos from a drag show performance at a bar in Dallas, Texas, that showed children shoving dollar bills into the underwear of drag performers.

“Part of the reason why we fought the fight with Parents Rights in Education is because there’s a movement to interject these things like gender ideology in elementary schools even, and my view is, our school need to be teaching these kids to read and write and add and subtract, and do the things that are supposed to be done in school,” DeSantis continued. “Injecting these agendas into it is wrong, and that’s why we did the Parent’s Rights and Education bill,” he added.

Videos and images from the drag show event in Dallas outraged many on social media. Others on the left defended the incident and accused critics of bigotry and prejudice against alternate lifestyles.

“It used to be kids would be off-limits. Used to be everybody agreed with that,” DeSantis continued. “And now it just seems like there’s a concerted effort to be exposing kids more and more to things that are not age appropriate.” He concluded by saying Florida needs to be a “family-friendly state” and received overwhelming support from those attending the briefing.

DeSantis is widely considered to be the frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination for 2024 unless former President Donald Trump chooses to run again. Here’s more about the drag show debacle:”

  5. Entire Article @ Texas Scorecard: “Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is calling out Texas Gov. Greg Abbott for refusing to send illegal aliens back to Mexico, in the wake of heightened illegal crossings on Texas’ southern border.

“They let them come across and then you give them to the feds, and the feds just release them anyways,” DeSantis said, according to a report from Florida Politics. “What they need to do, Texas, is Texas should just send them back across the border.”

“Who cares what the feds are saying? They’re not doing their job,” DeSantis added. “Or not let them come across the border to begin with, because they go right across the river. They just walk right across. No one’s stopping [them]. Some pushback, I think, would be good. And I would send people to help with that.”

Abbott instituted Operation Lone Star last year as a means of combating the out-of-control illegal border crossings. However, OLS has been widely criticized as “political theater” mired with political, legal, and logistical problems. Abbott’s recent idea for border security included busing migrants (on their own volition) to Washington, D.C., and halting all commercial traffic at the border for additional inspections. Critics say these plans have all failed to address the real problem: illegal border-crossers who are subsequently released into the U.S. rather than deported.

The Center for Renewing America has proposed that each state enact Article I, Section 10, Clause 3 of the U.S. Constitution under the declaration that the border crisis is indeed an invasion and the federal government has failed to address it. This clause would allow for states to repel an invasion themselves by utilizing their state guards; it would also allow for governors to enter into an interstate compact to secure the border.

Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake has indicated she would do exactly that if elected.

So far, however, Abbott has fallen short of declaring the massive surge of illegal aliens an invasion. Attorney General Ken Paxton told Texas Scorecard in a recent interview that he would be willing to defend such actions if the governor or Legislature took action. “It cannot be the law that the Texas governor, the Arizona governor, or any governor can sit by while crimes are being committed, while their states are being pillaged,” said Paxton.

Both DeSantis and Abbott are considered potential presidential candidates in 2024. A recent poll among Texas Republicans showed DeSantis leading the field of potential Republican presidential candidates if President Donald Trump decides not to run again. Fifty-six percent of those polled said they would support DeSantis.

Just 10 percent said they would support Abbott. As of publishing, Abbott’s office did not respond to request for comment.”

  6. EXCERPT: “Here on The Jeff Dornik Show, we’ve been reporting the wide variety of side effects and health ramifications of the covid-19 Poison Death Shots. We were one of the first to report California’s Health Department reporting the issues of heart inflammation among young boys after getting jabbed. I’ve interviewed Alicia Smith, who has been dealing with ongoing neurological issues which created unending shaking.

Then there’s the issue of strokes and young athletes collapsing on field. We’ve also heard about older women getting menstruation decades after going through menopause. The wide variety of side effects is the result of the bioweapon spike protein spreading around throughout your entire body and affecting different organs in different people.

I brought on Deanna Lorraine to discuss some of the side effects of the vaccine that she’s been uncovering, which now includes major issues with pregnant mothers and passing the bioweapon onto their children:

“There is a massive amount of babies in the NICU right now that nurses, baby delivery nurses, doctors and others have been blasting my DMs talking about this. There is a huge rise, they’ve never seen the NICU so crowded with babies than in this last year, and they’ve never seen babies being delivered more pre-term and at low birth weight and having the mother have major placenta problems than in this past year. And again, the one thing they all have in common? They’ve all gotten the vaccine.

“I know three women, just in my close circle of friends, that have been pregnant this year, have had a baby and the baby’s been in the NICU and was four to eight weeks premature. All these women had major placenta problems, and all these women were vaccinated while they were pregnant.

“The placentas are not delivering the proper food, blood and nutrients to these babies, and these babies are being induced way early, have lung problems, have breathing problems, blood problems, feeding problems and I’ve spoken to so many women and so many nurses that are saying that this is happening behind the scenes and is a big coverup that the vaccine is causing these placenta issues and low birth issues, and a lot of women aren’t even connecting it to the vaccine, which is outrageous.”

So many doctors are assuring their pregnant patients that it’s perfectly safe to get jabbed while pregnant. Many are even encouraging expecting mothers to get injected during their final trimester so that they can pass along the vaxx to their child. This is medical malpractice.

The fact that there are huge spikes in premature babies, issues with the placenta and a massive surge in newborns in NICU should be a warning to everyone that this is, in fact, a bioweapon designed to wipe out a portion of the population. Does the word depopulation ring a bell to anyone?”

  8. I’m confused…were the charges dropped or not?

    1. From the “Fact Checkers:”

“But social media posts falsely claimed that all DUI charges against Pelosi have been dropped. Comedian Rob Schneider shared a tweet on June 8 from Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado claiming that Pelosi’s charges were dropped. A Facebook page called The Joe Rogan Experience Podcast, a fan page for the Joe Rogan podcast, shared a screenshot of Schneider’s tweet.

A post on Instagram shows a screenshot of a tweet that reads, “BREAKING: All charges have reportedly been dropped against Paul Pelosi for his DUI crash. Gavin Newsom reportedly intervened at the request of Nancy Pelosi and directly ordered the California Highway Patrol to drop all charges.”

But the posts offer no evidence to support those claims. Napa County District Attorney Allison Haley released a statement on June 9 on Facebook saying that the case is still under review.

“At the time, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) arrested Mr. Pelosi (DOB 4/15/40) for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving with a .08% Blood Alcohol Content or Higher. He was booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections and cite released,” reads part of the statement.

“Mr. Pelosi agreed to a court date of August 3, 2022, at 8:30 am in Napa County Superior Court. If criminal charges are filed, Mr. Pelosi would be arraigned at that time,” the statement continued. “The case is currently under review to decide what, if any, charges will be filed against Mr. Pelosi. This is standard protocol for any DUI case that is referred by a law enforcement agency in Napa County.”

The statement added that “no decision has been made at this time” and “any speculation to the contrary is incorrect.”

The Napa County District Attorney’s Office said the media and public will be notified when a decision is made.”

  9. Entire Article @ JustTheNews: “Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, the Georgia Republican, says a gun incident from her childhood school years cemented her support for the Second Amendment today.

“It was one of the scariest days of my life, and it happened to be when Joe Biden turned America’s schools into gun free school zones,” Greene recalled during an interview this week with the Just the News, Not Noise television show. “It was in 1990. I was 16 years old, and one morning one of our schoolmates brought guns to school in a duffel bag on the school bus, saying it was like a school project, brought them into his first-period class and he took over our entire school with guns.”

“And the reason why he was able to do that is we had no good guy with a gun in our school. Our principal, we didn’t have a resource officer, we had no one,” she added. And so all of our classes went on lockdown and the only thing we knew is that there was another student on the loose with guns and all of our lives were in danger. And that really, really set in to me and many of my friends that we learned a really very important lesson that day,” she added.

Greene continued, saying, “You never want to be at the mercy of a madman with a gun. You always want to be able to protect yourself and protect others and that’s what I walked away from my school that day knowing.” Greene said she’s been “fighting really hard” against the Democrats’ gun control legislation because she believes it won’t make anyone safer.

“They actually keep everyone unsafe and most importantly, they keep our children unsafe in gun free school zones,” she said, adding that she found “irony” in the gun control debate going on in the House chamber.

“Every single door has men or women armed with guns, the very same guns that they want to take away from Americans,” she said. “And so I was telling everyone there, I was like, this is the biggest hypocrisy. The House of Representatives really is nothing but a House of hypocrisy.”

The Democratic-led House passed gun control legislation on Wednesday that includes raising the age to purchase semi-automatic weapons to 21 nationally and banning the sale of large-capacity magazines. Currently, federal law sets the age at 21 for the purchase of handguns, not semi-automatic weapons such as AR-15s. The bill faces an uphill climb in the 50-50 Senate.”

  11. Entire Article @ LiveAction: “In early May, President Joe Biden boasted about leading the fight to foil President Ronald Reagan’s 1987 Supreme Court nominee Judge Robert H. Bork’s ascendence to the High Court. Bork, a Yale Law School professor by profession, was the 35th Solicitor General of the United States (1973 to 1977), and later served on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit from 1982 to 1988. During his time as Solicitor General, Bork was briefly appointed Acting U.S. Attorney General from October 1973 to January 1974.

While Bork’s occupancy on the Supreme Court was pillaged by the then-Senator from Delaware, Bork’s words are perhaps what America needs most right now as “killing for convenience,” to borrow Bork’s phrase, has become an insignia of society.

In the early 2000’s, Bork keenly observed the sacramental view that most Americans traditionally had in regard to human life was steadily beginning to subside. The intentional taking of a recognizable individual’s life had become common place, and an easily accepted practice of the modern world. Such an acceptance has only exasperated in the decades following. For Bork, while individuals engaged in a plethora of daily activities that were known to cause death (driving automobiles, constructing buildings), the conscious choice to quell the life of a human being had never been regarded as a matter of moral indifference.

When it came to abortion, Bork made sense of the idea by asking two potent questions. First, is abortion always the killing of a human being? If it is, is that killing done simply for convenience? As Bork would say at the time, “I think there can be no doubt that the answer to the first question is yes; and the answer to the second is almost always.” Also, curious in Bork’s eyes was the repeated narrative of “choice,” “reproductive rights,” and “medical procedures.” Is this language not relatively odd when describing the act of ending the life of a human-being who has zero “choice” in the undertaking? Bork witnessed an alteration in how society defines what exactly it means to be a human being, and it was this transformation of society that fretted Bork the most.

Bork strongly objected to Roe v. Wade (1973) based on Constitutional grounds, believing it to be a fundamental contortion of the Constitution and nothing more than the Supreme Court’s encroachment on us of the morality of our cultural elites. The Constitutional bears zero mention of abortion, thereby leaving the matter solely in the hands of the American people and their state representatives. However, Bork’s main qualm with the Court’s majority opinion was this newly revisionist attitude toward life and death. Redefining what it means to be a human being will prove hazardous beyond the abortion debate.

If abortion is looked upon as a constitutional right, Bork predicted that assisted suicide and euthanasia would soon follow. How long until the act of ending an individual’s life would apply to the elderly, or those deemed a burden by society? For example, at this moment, ten states and Washington, D.C., commonly referred to “Right to Die” states, have legalized physician-assisted suicide via legislation. One could forecast that this number will continue to rise.

The intentional act of decimating an unborn child, a human being with characteristics and features, reflects a society’s tragic heedlessness to the most innocent among us. If the growing sentiment among the body politic is “killing for convenience” in the womb, then we should not be surprised when measures are put in place to end the lives of those who are ill, fading, or those who some might deem inconvenient.

Perhaps this June the Supreme Court will finally heed Bork’s cautionary tale.”

  12. Entire Article @ DailyCitizen: “Careful readers of the obituaries may have noticed the death this past Monday of Jim Seals, co-leader of the popular 1970s soft-rock band Seals and Crofts. He was 79 and lived in Nashville.

Once upon a time, Seals and Crofts became a household name in music with a string of popular hits – “Summer Breeze,” “Diamond Girl,” and “Get Closer.” But Mr. Seals’ obit took special note of a controversial chapter either long forgotten or deliberately ignored. Back in 1974, right in the middle of the band’s rapid rise, Jim Seals and his musical partner, Dash Crofts, released a controversial album that its label, Warner Brothers, urged them not to.

Moved and saddened by the Supreme Court’s ruling on Roe a year earlier, Lana Bogan, wife of the band’s recording engineer, Joseph Bogan, wrote a poem. It was titled, “Unborn Child” and here are the lyrics:

‘Oh little baby, you’ll never cry, nor will you hear a sweet lullabye.

Oh unborn child, if you only knew just what your momma was plannin’ to do.
You’re still a-clingin’ to the tree of life, but soon you’ll be cut off before you get ripe.
Oh unborn child, beginning to grow inside your momma, but you’ll never know.

Oh tiny bud, that grows in the womb, only to be crushed before you can bloom.

Mama stop! Turn around, go back, think it over.
Now stop, turn around, go back, think it over.
Stop, turn around, go back think it over.’

The band put the poem to music, releasing it as part of their sixth album. It seems Warner Brothers’ warnings were prescient. The album’s release met fierce resistance. Their concerts were picketed by pro-abortion activists and many radio stations refused to even play the song. Both men acknowledged the move damaged their career.

“It completely killed it for a while,” Seals later reflected. “It was our ignorance that we didn’t know that kind of thing was seething and boiling as a social issue,” he said. “On one hand we had people sending us thousands of roses, but on the other people were literally throwing rocks at us.”

Did they have regrets? “If we’d known it was going to cause such disunity,” Seals once shared, “we might have thought twice about doing it. At the time it overshadowed all the other things we were trying to say in our music.”

Seals’ use of the word “disunity” is an interesting choice. If anyone brought division, it was abortion activists and seven members of the United States Supreme Court, whose action and ruling have deeply divided Americans for the last half-century. It should also be noted that Seals and Crofts subscribed to the Baháʼí Faith – an independent movement with Islamic origins. In the end, though, Dash Crofts considered the album and song to be a net positive.

“I think we got more good results out of it than bad because a lot of people called us and said, ‘We’re naming our children after you, because you helped us decide to save their lives with that song.’ That was very fulfilling to us.”

Most champions of pre-born life have long ago given up any goal or expectation of winning popularity contests. Sadly, protests, boycotts, antagonistic and even violent and threatening behavior – like harassing Supreme Court judges at their private homes – has become regular activity for abortion activists. Not so with those who advocate for the reversal of Roe.

It appears Jim Seals will have missed seeing the fulfilment of his pro-life wish by a mere matter of days or weeks. Yet, the main theme and importance of the song’s message retains its timeless appeal to abortion-minded women everywhere:

“Mama stop! Turn around, go back, think it over.”

  13. EXCERPT: “It’s a strategy that has served them well for years. But when that support begins to erode, the Democratic narrative of “Vote for us because Republicans are racist” suffers. And that phenomenon becomes particularly problematic when a racial minority not only wanders off the Democrat reservation but throws their hat in the ring of a high-profile, blue state gubernatorial election. Such is the case with Republican candidate for Illinois governor, Richard Irvin.

Irvin has all the qualities that should endear him to Democrats. Irvin is black, was raised in housing projects by a single mother, and has already been elected to public office by becoming the first black mayor of the city of Aurora. But Richard Irvin is also an Army veteran, a Republican, and a candidate who scares the living daylights out of Democrats for one main reason: He could beat incumbent Democratic Governor J.B. Pritzker in November.

It is for this reason that Democrats are pouring money into TV ads designed to destroy Irvin’s candidacy in the Republican primary election on June 28th, less than three weeks away. If Irvin was to win the primary, he would go head-to-head with Pritzker in November, and the last thing Democrats want is for the multi-billionaire Pritzker, whose family owns the Hyatt hotel chain, to have to face off against a black Republican.

According to the Washington Free Beacon, the Democratic Governors Association (DGA) and Governor Pritzker have poured over $12 million into ads targeting Irvin over the past five weeks. The ads go after Irvin’s record as a defense attorney while simultaneously attempting to prop up one of his Republican opponents, Darren Bailey, who Democrats rightly believe to be much less threatening to Pritzker’s incumbency.

Irvin isn’t the first black person we’ve seen Democrats attack for the sin of being Republican. We’ve been seeing the phenomenon for ages and has recently become even more frequent. South Carolina Senator Tim Scott was despicably labeled as “Uncle Tim” last year for saying that our country isn’t racist; which it isn’t. Democrats go after Virginia Lt. Governor Winsome Earle-Sears at every opportunity, most recently in the wake of the Uvalde shooting. And the left and their media are pulling out all the stops in trying to damage Georgia Senate candidate Herschel Walker.

What the Democrats’ targeting of Richard Irvin illustrates, as has been the case for years, is that the Democratic Party doesn’t care about black folks, they care about power. They lecture America about black lives matter while simultaneously governing cities like Chicago where black folks are slaughtered on the streets and nothing is done. And when a black man like Richard Irvin rises from the housing projects and then has the gall to run for office as a Republican, Democrats take a bare-knuckled approach in attacking him.

Let’s hope that not only does Richard Irvin win his primary election at the end of the month, but that he also destroys J.B. Pritzker in November.”

  14. Entire Article @ BlueStateConservative: “It’s a dangerous game trying to beat down the population this way, and to what end, exactly?

The made-for-TV January 6th Capitol Riot hearings kicked off last night with tribute video of a whole lot of pissed-off ordinary Americans marching on the stately building where, that fateful day, the final certification ceremony of a blatantly dishonest election was underway after, mind you, four years of seditious machinations by a weaponized bureaucracy aimed at disabling and destroying the sitting chief executive — in case it’s unclear why the huge crowd flocked to the capital city in the first place.

The Party of Chaos is playing its hand: a select committee of seven deuces and two jokers. Do they look like they’re going to get through this extravaganza without humiliating themselves? You never know what might come out of some witness’s mouth, despite the orchestrations of former ABC’s Good Morning America producer James Goldston, brought in to cement the narrative in the collective public brain, pre-softened with years of manifold media mind-fuckeries.

It’s the centerpiece of their midterm campaign. And I submit that it may be just a little premature as it becomes increasingly clear that the Party of Chaos, led by the “winner” of the 2020 election, “Joe Biden” and unseen handlers, have nearly completed their mission of destroying the USA as an ongoing enterprise. Broken economy, broken health, broken military, broken law enforcement, broken culture, broken morale. They sure got’er done. Do they think nobody noticed?

If the January 6th Committee show is short-and-sweet, say a few weeks, it will be quickly forgotten in the welling summertime heat as the great masses of America groan under $5… $7… maybe $10-a-gallon gasoline prices (or maybe no gas at all) while diesel prices at $6.50 today are already destroying the trucking industry — and thus the entire system for delivering all goods around the country. The zeitgeist is quivering with intimations of food shortages and the philosopher reminds us that any given body politic is just nine missed meals away from bloody rebellion. Have another look at that motley January 6th committee group photo and consider the lampposts along Pennsylvania Avenue.

It’s a dangerous game trying to beat down the population this way, and to what end, exactly? I doubt that even the Blue Team could articulate it… or would dare to… because at this point their sole aim, really, is to hide their many acts of criminality over a span of the past six years and escape prosecution, a compelling motive. And it’s getting harder and harder to conceal all that, especially their campaign to physically harm over 200-million people with mRNA “vaccines.” The body-count is rising — way higher even than deaths from the hypothetical “pandemic” that the “vaccines” were supposedly concocted to vanquish, and spectacularly failed to.

And was this Covid-19 “pandemic” itself cooked up tacitly to disorder the 2020 election with mail-in ballots so easily replicated, harvested, and stuffed by the bale into drop-boxes under cover of night? Kind of looks like it, more and more. And now, the Party of Chaos is so keenly desperate to stay out of prison that they apparently seek to repeat the trick in the fall midterm, which is otherwise quite certain to sweep them ignominiously off the game board like so many misplayed quoits.

Thus: monkeypox, the visitation of weeping pustules far more visually horrifying than was Covid-19 in all its spikey iterations, if actually hardly lethal. The hopelessly corrupt CDC has already gotten into the act with its guidance to mask-up on airplanes against this new plague. Perhaps travelers would do better wearing condoms on their noses. Apparently, monkeypox spreads by means of intensely intimate flesh-to-flesh contact. The current outbreak popped up following a giant sex rave in the Canary Islands, men having rough sex with other men. Suspicions abound that this monkeypox bears the earmarks of something engineered in a lab. Jeez, d’ya think?

If there is a God, when judgment is at hand, a jury in the court of the angels will bum-rush this Party of Chaos into a special hell of an eternal drag queen story hour, featuring Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) reading Uncle Remus to an assembled multitude of howling Jacobins, Bolsheviks, and Maoist Red Guards. Refreshments will not be served. Ever.”

  15. EXCERPTS: “This is the tale of a fake news story, widely shared by a lot of smart people who so badly wanted for it to be true that they didn’t care that it wasn’t. It is also the tale of the decline of local news in America, the wave of pink slime that is replacing it, feeding destructive partisan narratives about public institutions.

Here is the headline (and the image) of the viral story.1

    And here is the lede:

‘Oak Park and River Forest High School administrators will require teachers next school year to adjust their classroom grading scales to account for the skin color or ethnicity of its students. In an effort to equalize test scores among racial groups, OPRF will order its teachers to exclude from their grading assessments variables it says disproportionally hurt the grades of black students. They can no longer be docked for missing class, misbehaving in school or failing to turn in their assignments, according to the plan.’

This sounds bad! A Chicago suburban school is handing out different grades depending on race! You can’t punish students for misbehaving! Not surprisingly, people were outraged. The story went viral, with big twitter names posting it to their hundreds of thousands of followers. (Some would later delete their tweet for reasons that will become clear below).
    ————————-
In other words, no new policies had been adopted. A committee on grading and assessment provided an initial report. There is no race-based grading or no plans to grade students using different standards according to race. (As Michael Hobbes has pointed out elsewhere, moral panic journalism frequently makes its claims based on draft or obscure documents rather than actual policies, because the actual policies are harder to mischaracterize).

One of these accounts is clearly inaccurate. Unfortunately, it is the one that went viral. Let’s dig in a bit more. The only direct evidence the report provided about the proposed policy change was a powerpoint deck presented at at a May 26 school board meeting. This is the most damning slide, which the piece quoted.

Nothing in the powerpoint slide or elsewhere in the article is there material that supports the claim laid out in the lede that a) policy change has taken place, and b) students “can no longer be docked for missing class, misbehaving in school or failing to turn in their assignments.”

Thus the piece has failed the most basic journalistic standard: it has not provided evidence either for the sensationalistic headline or its core claims. Well, what does the reporter have to say about this? Huh, no byline beyond the mysterious LGIS News Service.
    ————————-
Local Government Information Services is the publisher of lots of local news media in Illinois, with titles like “Southern Illinois News” and “SW Illinois news.” LGIS is part much larger network of local news in multiple states. As local news media has disappeared “pink slime” outlets like LGIS have taken their place, relying on low-cost or automated content repeated across sites, and eschewing basic journalistic practices.

Just how big and how connected these local news outlets is difficult to discern. In 2020, the New York Times counted about 1,200 connected local news outlets that had arisen in just 10 years.
    —————————
In other words, a partisan operative can, for a fee, use dark money get another partisan operative to publish campaign materials masquerading as local news. Freelancers, many of whom don’t live in the US, let alone the locality they are supposed to be covering, are paid a pittance, directed who to interview and what to write, often by the clients, who are sometimes the subject of flattering coverage. One sales pitch to such clients offered “a $2,000 package that included running five articles and unlimited news releases. The salesman stressed that reporters would call the shots on some articles, while the client would have a say on others.” In some cases, the clients simply provide the content directly. One GOP candidate paid Timpone’s companies $55,000 over three years, and received consistent and positive coverage from the Timpone’s Illinois media outlets, including the publication of verbatim press releases.

Here is an illustration of how deeply incestuous these processes of news production and dissemination are at the local level. Dan Proft is a former Republican candidate turned radio host in Illinois. He promotes West Cook News stories, like the one attacking OPRF High School. What his listeners might not know is that Proft is a partner of Timpone, one of the founders of LGIS, and listed as the company’s President on state documents. In just two years, Proft funneled almost $650,000 from his political action committee to LGIS, which largely came from one Republican mega-donor, Dick Uihlein. Proft also serves as a fellow at the Illinois Policy Institute, which advocates for conservative policy goals in education.

How many consumers of these ostensibly local news sources know that they are, in reality, the end-point of a political advocacy network, one built-to-order to serve Republican policy goals? The structure of these financing arrangements ensures that the networks have strong incentives to be accountable to donors but not to the public, or basic journalistic standards. With the inclusion of ideologically-aligned think tanks, often funded by the same donors, the partisan network has a fully-integrated operation that can define policy problems, disseminate their stories (never mind if they are false), boost their funders, and propose policy solutions.”

  16. From Emerald Robinson: “Fox News is now running segments that endorse transgender surgery for children. Its well known TV host Dana Perino introduced the segment with the phrase “Pride Month continues!”

It’s not enough anymore to employ Guy Benson or make the wig-wearing Bruce Jenner an infrequent contributor. Fox News wants to queer itself. It’s taking the intersectional hormone shots. Fox News wants to transition into CNN.

The Fox News reporter Bryan Llenas who did this segment actually says things like: “…before Ryland could even speak, she told her parents that she was a boy.” How do you communicate your gender identity before you can speak? Ryland supposedly “came out as a boy” at the age of five. How did that happen? The parents decided that, since Ryland didn’t want to wear a dress all the time, she was a boy. That’s an absurd line of reasoning, of course, but the entire segment is propaganda encouraging parents to view the chemical castration of their own children as “normal.”

Nothing could be further from the truth.

When you scratch beneath the surface of this story, it’s obvious what’s happened to this poor child. The parents are attention-seekers of the worst kind: there’s a CNN film and a website and a book and press releases and a media section on the mother’s website and another website to prove it. This is a business for the parents: they’re monetizing their child’s gender change. The only thing missing from their website is a discount coupon for puberty blockers. In other words, it’s child abuse — fueled by money and fame.

In case you think this one segment is an outlier, Fox News is also publishing op-eds supporting gun control by the Democrat’s favorite student-activist David Hogg at the same time.

Wake up: Fox News is run by Australian liberals married to Clinton employees who run “information disorder commissions” at the Aspen Institute in their spare time.

Fox News executives are putting pronouns in their bios in office emails (I’ve seen them). Fox News demands that all of its employees take the deadly COVID vaccines — go check on John Roberts to see how scary the side effects happen to be. Fox News still refuses to mention election fraud in the 2020 election. Fox News tried to push UFO coverage on a GOP primary day to distract GOP voters from voting for Trump-endorsed candidates. Fox News took money from the Biden regime to push the deadly COVID vaccines while failing to inform its audience that the entire network had been paid to run a 24/7 vaccine telethon for Big Pharma!

    Fox News is garbage.”

I went thru a period in my life when i was a tomboy–i developed early and other girls were mean and jealous. so i preferred spending time with boys–wearing pants etc–till THEIR hormones kicked in and they were stupid. by then I had outgrown that phase, met a new girl at school pretty much in the same boat and we commiserated together. we’re still friends. together we tortured the boys, ignored the mean girls and delighted in being women first…
no kid EVER indicated their gender is wrong before they can speak…what nutjobs!

  17. Entire Article @ BB: “The latest economic report is “brutal” and follows a series of missteps from the Biden administration and Democrats who are in total control in Washington, DC, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) said on Friday ahead of signing a bill caring for retired police dogs.

“I think it’s sad to see some of the economic numbers with Bidenflation coming out — 8.6 percent. They tried to say — first, they said it wasn’t going to happen, was transitory and it would basically kind of solve itself,” DeSantis said at the start of the press conference in Bunnell, Florida.

“They said it was gonna moderate two months ago and now it’s accelerating and you have energy, groceries, all the things that really, really matter are just going through the roof, and the sad thing is you see people filling up their gas tanks, you see people struggling in grocery stores,” the governor said, explaining that Biden’s bad policies “are the results that we’re seeing with this inflation report.”

“Unfortunately, as a result of a lot of bad policy, choices that have been made, you know, you don’t declare war on American energy and undercut our energy independence and think that that’s gonna lead to more affordable energy for people,” DeSantis said as the national gas price average broke yet another high on Friday.

“Of course not, it’s caused it to go up. You don’t print trillions and trillions of dollars and think that that’s somehow not gonna be reflected in rising prices and rising inflation. And so it’s frustrating to see that because I think it didn’t need to happen. I think it was a lot of getting a lot of things wrong up in D.C.,” he explained, making it clear, however, that his administration in Florida is prepared to weather the storm, as they have remained fiscally responsible.

“We’ve got a big surplus, you know, we have low taxes, doing great,” he said, listing some of Florida’s priorities, including Everglades conservation, teacher compensation increases, and infrastructure. “So we’re hitting the things that are right. You know, our approach has been very solid and it seems like the last year and a half, our doing what we’re doing, and everybody who’s working throughout the country — not just Florida, you know — their lives have been made more difficult by some of these big time policy errors in Washington DC,” he said, calling the report “brutal.”

“So it was a brutal report today. You know, it’s one thing to have to deal with this for a little bit if it was going to start going down, but that is not what that report said today, and that just is an indication that there’s gonna be some rough sledding ahead,” he explained.

“We’re prepared to deal with it from a budget perspective in Florida because we’ve made good choices, and we’ve got massive surplus and we’re gonna be able to meet our needs and all the services and things people depend on. That’s gonna be good. But man, [if] you just would have done a little different over the last year and a half, you know, we would not be looking at the level of inflation that we are right now,” the governor added.

DeSantis’s remarks follow the latest dire economic report, as prices rose 8.6 percent in May — a 41-year high. This comes months after inflation hit a four-decade high in March, reaching 8.557 percent. It then dipped to 8.3 percent in April, only to rise to 8.6 percent the following month. As Breitbart News reported, economists expected inflation to dip slightly lower in May, to 8.2 percent:

Excluding food and energy, prices were up six percent compared with a year ago, more than the 5.9 percent anticipated. On the month, prices rose 0.6 percent, matching last month’s gain and beating the expectation for a slowdown to 0.5 percent.

Overall, inflation has now remained over 5 percent for a solid year.”

  23. EXCERPT: “A transgender inmate who goes by the name Cristina Iglesias has not spent a day outside of federal prison as an adult. Iglesias was locked up in 1994 for sending death threats to federal judges and then pleaded guilty in 2005 to mailing fake anthrax to U.S. allies in the earliest days of the War on Terror. Now, thanks to a judge’s ruling, Iglesias is set to become the first transgender inmate to undergo sex-reassignment surgery—on the taxpayer dime.

Iglesias in 2020 became the poster child of the American Civil Liberties Union‘s quest to ensure even the most hardened criminals enjoy transgender rights, and the civil rights group that once focused its energies on free speech sued the government, arguing that denying the costly surgery is a violation of Iglesias’s constitutional rights. U.S. District Judge Nancy J. Rosenstengel agreed, writing in an opinion issued last month that “Iglesias suffers daily and is at risk of self-mutilation and suicide.”

Iglesias, 47, is set for release on Christmas Day, but wants the surgery before that time—and Rosentengel is ordering the Bureau of Prisons to find a surgeon to carry out the sex change. Cost estimates for the surgery itself vary widely. Some hospital estimates reach six figures, while the Philadelphia Center for Transgender Surgery pegs the figure at about $25,000. Pricey quality-of-life care is required for years after the surgery, running about $40,000 annually in the first five years, according to a 2015 study from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. The cost falls to $10,000 per year after a decade. The Bureau of Prisons declined to say whether taxpayers will provide that support.

New Biden administration policy requires prison officials to use a transgender inmate’s preferred name and pronouns and consider housing transgender inmates in prisons matching their “lived gender.” Federal policy doesn’t require surgery in every case, but left-wing groups like the ACLU are now using cases like Iglesias’s to make sure it is widely available for inmates. There are about 1,300 transgender inmates in federal jails, according to a Bureau of Prison spokeswoman.

Iglesias, who according to prison records is white but has used Hispanic names since 2004, is nearing the end of a 20-year bid for mailing white powder—from prison—to the British Commonwealth and Foreign Office in 2002, which prompted evacuations and street closures around London.”
