Have you ever wondered what a ghost sounds like? Engineer Vic Tandy may already know. In the early 1980s, Tandy was working in a laboratory designing medical equipment. Word began to spread among the staff that the labs might be haunted, something Tandy put down to the constant wheeze of life-support machines operating in the building.

One evening he was working on his own in the lab when he began to feel distinctly uncomfortable, breaking into a cold sweat as the hairs on the back of his neck stood on end. He was convinced that he was being watched. Then, out of the corner of his eye, Tandy noticed an ominous grey shape drifting slowly into view, but when he turned around to face it, it was gone. Terrified, he went straight home.

The next day Tandy, a keen fencer, noticed that a foil blade clamped in a vice was vibrating up and down very fast. He found that the vibrations were caused by a standing sound wave that was bouncing between the end walls of the laboratory and reached a peak of intensity in the center of the room. He calculated that the frequency of the standing wave was about 19hz (cycles per second) and soon discovered that it was produced by a newly installed extractor fan. When the fan was turned off, the sound wave disappeared.

The key here is frequency: 19hz is in the range known as infrasound, below the range of human hearing, which begins at 20hz. Tandy learned that low frequencies in this region can affect humans and animals in several ways, causing discomfort, dizziness, blurred vision (by vibrating your eyeballs), hyperventilation and fear, possibly leading to panic attacks.

Tandy went on to recreate his experience, and with the assistance of Dr. Tony Lawrence, he was able to publish his findings in the Journal of the Society for Psychical Research. Their research led them to conclude that infrasound at or around a frequency of 19 Hz, has a range of physiological effects, including feelings of fear and shivering. Though this had been known for many years, Tandy and Lawrence were the first people to link it to ghostly sightings. Tandy also appeared in the “Ghosts on the London Underground” documentary.

In 2001 Tandy was asked to investigate the cellar of Coventry’s Tourist Information Centre and in 2004 he was part of a research group looking for paranormal activity in Warwick Castle. In both cases he found high levels of infrasound present. Tandy also conducted large-scaled experiments including one experiment on 750 participants at London’s Royal Festival Hall.

A more recent investigation took place in an allegedly haunted 14th-century pub cellar in Coventry, where people have reported terrifying experiences for many years, including seeing a spectral grey lady. Here Tandy also uncovered a 19hz standing wave, adding further evidential weight to his theory. The following is a generic pic from the web – I don’t know which pub he examined.

Built around 1583, The Golden Cross claims to be the oldest pub in the city and one of the longest-established alcohol-serving venues in England. There’s been a lot of bumps in the night over the years and reports of strange activity in the kitchen area. It is thought that the kitchen stands where there were once cells keeping prisoners locked away. There have also been sightings of shadowy figures appearing in the pub and it has received a Most Haunted Location award.

In an interesting parallel, researchers have recorded that, prior to an attack, a tiger’s roar contains frequencies of about 18hz, which might disorientate and paralyze their intended victim. Is this the sound of fear itself?

          1. i think you hit on it yesterday (?) after the babies have hatched…??
            we had dozens on the feeders early, then about mid May-to early June we’d see maybe 5 at one time. now they are swarming again…AND the honeysuckles may be done soon too.

    On February 25, 2019, the U.S. Supreme Court, in a per curiam opinion, addressed the question of whether a federal court can count the vote of a judge who dies before the decision is issued. The Court unanimously answered no.

The DOJ took issue with Navarro’s comments to the media in front of the courthouse Friday, when, the department said, the defendant “made an almost 18-minute extrajudicial statement about the pending criminal case.”

  26. Good morning y’all! Been getting little loose end projects wrapped up at home. Still need to pack stuff we are not using and paint the kitchen celing. Have jad mild weather since the rain ended. Need to do yard work and repair my aunt’s A/C this weekend. Too little time…

      I will paint, but i am a sloppy painter. hubby is meticulous and can paint edging and trim without painters tape or a drip cloth! when I’m done painting, it’s on my hands, in my hair…LOL

    Pelosi’s stacked commission has proven exceptionally effective with at least one thing: ignoring any piece of evidence that does not align itself with the committee’s predetermined outcome. Peddling emotion-filled accounts of January 6th, with undisguised partisan vitriol, is far more effective in furthering the left’s messaging strategy than conducting a balanced fact-finding investigation.

    If you were to take a step away from the noise and examine the facts in an unbiased fashion, you would discover a wildly different version of events than what the unselect committee would have you believe.

    Reports emerged in August of 2021 confirming the FBIdid not have any sort of evidence connecting President Trump or his allies to an organized effort to enter the Capitol or overturn the 2020 election results. In fact, they could find no evidence of a plot to overturn the election at all. But key members of the committee have ignored that evidence, choosing instead to flock around television cameras and present a darker, inaccurate version of events.

    Some people have asked me why I refuse to testify before the illegitimate January 6 committee. They say, “Ooooh, you must have something to hide or else you would testify.” I say that type of thinking is not only naïve in this age of political warfare, but it is also dangerously un-American.

    Have we forgotten how the Federal Bureau of Investigation was used to spy on President Trump during his campaign for president in 2016? Testimony at the Michael Sussman trial confirmed that Democrat Hillary Clinton, Trump’s opponent, instigated the Russia collusion hoax.

    The media went along with it. The media supported it. And, the media used the fake Russia story to try and derail Trump’s candidacy and then his presidency.

    After Trump was elected, Clinton constantly referred to him as illegitimate and the pawn of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

    We see it in the disparate treatment of the January 6 rioters and trespassers, and the treatment of the Antifa and Black Lives Matter rioters of 2020.

    Many January 6 defendants have been denied bail and have been in prison for over a year awaiting trials that seem never to come. Most Antifa and BLM rioters weren’t even arrested. Those who were, got released quickly, and Kamala Harris and other leftist politicians helped raise their bail money.

    It’s past time to give the January 6 defendants due process.

    Then you must consider the context of the onslaught against American values where kids are arrested or suspended from school simply for messing up someone’s pronouns.

    Now we must also consider the attempt to destroy the House of Representatives as an institution.

    House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has repeatedly rammed through changes in the way the House operates to give herself more power, to empower her congressional allies, and to minimize the traditional rights of the minority party.

    First, she led the fight to have Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) removed from all of her committee assignments because of social media posts from years before she ever ran for Congress. This was unprecedented but now will likely become the norm for a generation.

    She also attacked Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) for an anime meme that allegedly portrayed him as a cartoon hero attacking Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-N.Y.). Democrats voted to censure Gosar, and Pelosi removed him from his committees. No word if Pelosi is going to review all of AOC’s intemperate comments or remove Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) from her committees for her anti-Semitic statements.

    Then Pelosi rigged the January 6 committee itself. In an unprecedented step, she denied House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s (R-Calif.) selections for the committee. She appointed the anti-Trump, anti-Republican duo of Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) and Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.), ensuring only members who supported her desired political outcome would serve on the committee.

    The committee has been issuing subpoenas to the public and now, members of Congress, without authority. The committee is required to submit subpoena requests to the ranking member of the committee before subpoenas can be issued. But there is no true ranking member. Pelosi removed the ranking member McCarthy selected to represent the Republican conference.

    Liz Cheney, while still officially and unbelievably a member of the Republican conference, was not appointed to the committee with the support of the conference. She was instead chosen by Pelosi to be a lackey for the Left’s desired political outcome. Without a true ranking member, the committee cannot properly issue a subpoena.

    The committee also has proven that it is indeed conducting a witch-hunt against political enemies. Pelosi has attacked her putative replacement, McCarthy. She and her lackeys also seem fixated on the House Freedom Caucus, as four of the five members to be subpoenaed in this unprecedented manner, are members. Two are former chairmen of the Freedom Caucus and a third is the current chairman.

    You know things aren’t right when even people who attempt to cooperate are attacked, and when documents given to the committee are leaked, and in some instances doctored, by the committee.

    For instance, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) took to the floor to misquote and take out of context, a communication between Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and former Trump Chief of Staff Mark Meadows so he could suggest a sinister intent.

    Recently, the committee leaked a text message that I sent to Meadows shortly after the 2020 presidential election. That the committee is leaking anything is absolutely indicative of the bias of its members.

    Pundits and the press went berserk about my text to Meadows. The headlines and stories were misleading and hyperbolic.

    The substance of the text show that state legislatures and governors in states where there was alleged fraud may have had a legal path to the prevent certification of electors.

    That was true then. It remains true today.

    But, the bedwetting, anti-Trump media types were apoplectic that I would send such a message to Trump’s chief.

    Similarly, the committee, which is populated by members of Congress who objected to certification of electors when Trump won in 2016, believe that anyone who objected to 2020 electors somehow attempted to overthrow the government.

    The committee believes that if anyone, including myself, met with anyone else to explain why there was an objection, then those who discussed the statutory process were somehow plotting an insurrection. In truth, like Democrats in 2016, Republicans were merely discussing the legal process.

    In the meantime, Democrats who wrongfully claimed there were “reconnaissance tours” of the Capitol led by Republicans, go undisciplined for their defamatory and totally debunked statements.

    Pelosi won’t release more than 14,000 hours of surveillance video from the Capitol on January 6, 2021.

    Pelosi won’t be compelled to testify before the committee about her role in the riots of that day.

    Americans no longer trust the media, don’t trust the federal government, and certainly don’t trust Congress.

    Neither do I.

    I have watched the Star Chamber proceedings of the January 6 committee and have reached the conclusion that not only is it illegitimately formed, in violation of the rules of the House, it is manifestly organized for one purpose: a search and destroy mission against any and all perceived political enemies.

    Frankly, it would be irrational to submit oneself to maltreatment by enemies of America. They want to bring down this country and are content to destroy every institution, including the House of Representatives, and individuals like me.

    “Two people familiar with the investigation said the initial evidence indicates the man was angry about the leaked draft of an opinion by the Supreme Court signaling that the court is preparing to overturn Roe. v. Wade,” continued the Post.

    The White House said that President Joe Biden “condemns the actions of this individual in the strongest terms, and is grateful to law enforcement for quickly taking him into custody.”

    “As the President has consistently made clear, public officials — including judges — must be able to do their jobs without concern for their personal safety or that of their families. And any violence, threats of violence, or attempts to intimidate justices have no place in our society. He has said that himself, and his spokespeople have been forceful about this from the podium,” the statement said.

    On Wednesday, the Democrat-led U.S. House stalled a bipartisan bill that would increase security for sitting U.S. Supreme Court justices.

    “If these reports are correct, an assassination attempt against a sitting justice, or something close to it,” Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said on the floor. “This is exactly the kind of event that many feared that terrible breach of the Court’s rules and norms could fuel.”

    The bizarre court case saga’s roots extend back to 2017 when a woman, referred to in court documents as M.O., allegedly contracted anogenital Human Papillomavirus (HPV) from a man identified as M.B. while they engaged in unprotected sex in his Hyundai Genesis, the Insurance Journal previously reported. The claimant alleged that M.B was aware that he had HPV, but he neither took measures to protect her from the disease nor did he disclose the diagnosis.

    According to an October 2021 GEICO court filing, M.B had a pair of insurance policies with the company, including “a Kansas Family Automobile Insurance Policy that listed M.B.’s Hyundai Genesis and an umbrella policy.” Per the court documents, M.O. was diagnosed with the illness in 2018 and, years later, in February 2021, sent the company a demand letter with a petition asserting negligence on behalf of M.B.

    GEICO wrote that it had investigated the claim and allegedly found that “M.B. said that he told M.O. on three different occasions that he had been diagnosed with HPV-positive throat cancer.” By March, the sexual partners entered an agreement to settle the claim, which GEICO asserted it was not aware of, while the insurance company filed a declaratory judgment in April, per the October filing.

    “GEICO seeks a declaratory judgment that these policies do not provide coverage for M.O.’s alleged injuries, and therefore GIECO [sic] has no duty to defend or indemnify M.B. against M.O.’s claim,” the company asserted in in the filing, per the October documents.

    In May of that year, the sexual partners submitted the claim to arbitration, and the following day M.O. was awarded $5.2 million and subsequently filed a lawsuit in Jackson County Circuit Court later in the month, per the filing from last Fall. GEICO asserted that is when it first became privy to the settlement agreement that allowed for M.O. to collect the money from GEICO. The Kansas City Star reported Wednesday:

    ‘The insurance company filed motions seeking a new hearing of the evidence and for the award to be tossed out, saying the judgment violated the company’s rights to due process and the arbitration agreement was unenforceable. The company appealed after those requests were denied.

    The three-judge panel tasked with reviewing the case found that the lower court did not make a mistake by denying the company’s motions, saying GEICO did not have a right to “relitigate those issues” once damages had been determined and a judgment was entered.’

    In a separate opinion on the matter, Judge Tom Chapman agreed with the panel’s ruling but said that GEICO was not given a “meaningful” chance to participate in the case and that an “insurer” is relegated to a “bystander” in such cases under the law, according to the Star.”

    The 2022 mid-term election primary cycle continues next Tuesday in Maine, Nevada, North Dakota, and South Carolina.”

    The Unselect Committee has now learned that I, as President, suggested & offered up to 20,000 National Guard, or troops, be deployed in D.C. because it was felt that the crowd was going to be very large. Crazy Nancy Pelosi turned down the offer, she didn’t like the way it looked. Likewise, the Mayor of D.C. Had they taken up the offer, there would have been no January 6th. The Unselects have ruled Pelosi “off limits, no questions.” The hearing is another political HOAX to counter Inflation etc

    In November, Hulleberg wrote about his adoption story in a social media post. “At just 15 years old, my birth mother decided that she wanted to give me a life full of opportunity and give the title of mother and father to a wonderful, deserving couple that I call mom and dad,” he said. The 20-year-old never quit wondering about his biological mother and, little did he know, Holly Shearer never forgot about the baby she gave up for adoption.

    “He was always on my mind. More so on holidays and his birthday, roller coaster of emotions,” Shearer, 36, explained. Photos showed Shearer holding her baby at the hospital so many years ago. She eventually began searching online and discovered his social media profile, but simply watched from a distance. Meanwhile, the young man did everything in his power to try and locate her.

    But when Shearer later messaged him to say happy birthday, everything changed. “I was crying. It was all very positive emotions,” Hulleberg recalled. “But to me, this is a day I had been waiting for the past 20 years of my life and to imagine that it was finally happening was outrageous. It was a lot to take in.”

    Then on November 21, the two reunited with their families there for support. “Holly Shearer, thank you for your selfless decision 20 years ago, today, to set me in the arms of my parents. I will always be grateful for it,” Hulleberg wrote in his social media post. The pair also learned they had both worked at St. Mark’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, with Shearer being a medical assistant and Hulleberg volunteering.

    “It’s just exciting. I’m part of his life. Just knowing that his phone number is in my phone and I can call him or text him anytime … it’s amazing,” Shearer noted. “My heart is full.”
