  1. hey Pat! drifted over after finding Plain Jane’s link. All is okay on our end. Still in the leukemia fight, but winning. Anthony is well, just celebrated his b-day with him and I am on my last class of the the course work I am doing. I don’t know if I told you, but I did get a good grade on the Art Appreciation paper.

      1. Thank you, it is good to connect with you. What happens with my classes…well, I have a choice to continue for 1 and half more semesters to get a 2 year degree in accounting. According to my professor that makes you an edcuated bookkeeper, not an accountant. Or I change paths and pursue the bookkeeping certification. I think I will pursue the bookkeeping certification, it will better fit the life goals of me and my family. I at this time do not want to pursue the 4 year accounting degree and become a CPA.

        1. I got my 4 yr accounting degree but never pursued the CPA…I became a Sect/Treasurer for a small municipality…loved it. hubby also has a 4 yr acct degree but not a CPA–but he did do audits (grunt work) in NYC for yrs…
I like the fact that numbers have a solution…they should come out every time…right/wrong…it’s logical…
but that’s soooo not me in other ways…LOL

          1. I will keep that in mind, son wants to start a family business and Mom will end up the bookkeeper/accountant more than likely. Thanks for the advice and insight. That clarifies some things for me.

            1. there’s a lot of technical, tax stuff in being a CPA that requires you to attend classes to keep up your certification and the test is a bugger…but you can do a lot without having it. hubby is now an accounting manager where he works–they hand the annual audit off to a well known firm–he’s happier that way.
I handle our taxes every year—but that’s the part of it that I loved–cost accounting and tax accounting…gees you almost make me wanna break out my old text books…ALMOST!
