What Shall We Bake Today?

Today’s recipe came to me some 40 years ago when I worked in a small factory with a group of Portuguese women. They brought this sponge cake for all the parties we had and it always went so fast! It only takes 4 ingredients and is fairly easy. The only drawback is beating the egg whites till stiff peaks form. (If you have a stand mixer, you can ignore that last remark…lol)

Portuguese Sponge Cake

12 eggs separated

2 cups of sugar

1 1/2 cups flour

1 tsp baking powder

Preheat the oven to 350*. Grease an angelfood cake pan using 1/2 tablespoon butter or margarine. After the pan is greased, coat the pan with granulated sugar. This butter/sugar coating gives the sponge cake an excellent crust. DO NOT use a bundt pan!

In a large bowl, cream the egg yolks with the sugar. Add the flour and the baking powder. In a separate large bowl, beat the egg whites on high until stiff peaks form.

Gently fold the egg whites into the first mixture, folding until the 2 mixtures are combined. Spoon into the prepared angelfood pan.

Bake for 45 minutes.

After removal from the oven, invert the cake on a bottle or covered upside funnel as you do regular angelfood cakes.

    Aside from lots of hearsay from Cassidy Hutchinson (he said “something to the effect of…) Cheney now detailing calls by police claiming Trump supporters had weapons including AR-15s near the White House at 10am.

    If true (and I doubt it) where were Secret Service and USCP?

    2/. So cops saw men with rifles at 14th and Constitution right before Trump’s speech and they let him speak anyway?

    No one was arrested? The area wasn’t immediately cleared and locked down?

    How is that Trump’s fault?

    What a condemnation of every LEA in Washington—if true.

    3/. This is pretty stunning. I don’t believe there were any arrests for possession of rifles the morning of Jan 6.

    But if police witnessed armed protesters near the rally stage and STILL allowed Trump and other officials to speak outside with limited protection, heads should roll.

    it was a way for REALPOTUS to actually drain the swamp. he figured it out too late and before the deadline of his EO came, ultra maggot canned it. (hence why he HAD to lose–the unelected fatcats running things couldn’t lose their jobs!) Schedule F employees can be FIRED. the only one who completed their internal audit as per the EO was the Budget Office–they determined 88% of their office could be termed schedule f emplyees and terminated!
    the EO remains on the register and when realpotus reclaims his rightful office, he can implement it day 1!
